Review 1：Local delights were prepared on table everyday. As a ryokan, onsen is free for guests and all amenities are prepared for my children and I. Would be great to have English signs for some situations. For example no slippers on tatami mats etc but it's nothing that I didn't like about.

Review 2：Very expensive, b/f was not included despite the price. B/f and dinner is pretty expensive.

Review 3：Very near train station, room is clean and spacious. Staff is polite and helpful although not fluent in English. Onsen is good.

Review 7：We had a nasty experience with the hotel manager, who was rude and walked away in anger in the middle of our conversation. Our check out was supposed to be noon. At 1030am, we received a call from the front desk saying our check out had been changed to 10am, and we had to pay extra because of the extra stay. Clearly this was an unfair manipulation by the staff. I would stay away from this hotel until the management improves.

Review 8：This was our first true Japanese accommodation experience. We found the futons and pillows too hard and it strange not having anywhere soft and comfortable to relax in the tatami room. Also the Japanese breakfast had no English signs on the food so there were many unpleasant fishy surprises. We found little to excite our tastebuds.

Review 9：The Onsen was fantastic, especially the outdoor baths when it's snowing. The staff were very helpful and organised. We had our own locker on the ski hire shop at the front to store our personal ski gear, busses to ski runs were good and the room was spacious with two balconies and a full stocked bar fridge.

Review 15：Location is a very short walk from the train station. The walk to the nearest ski resort is not too bad either. We liked the traditional Japanese rooms - very homey and large compared to normal hotel rooms in Japan. Very spacious!

The staf were very helpfull, my room was spacious, the food was great and seem the public bath was very famous *but i didnt try that.. My problem was only they sort of english spoken staff.. but that didnt matter at all.. just use body language...

Review 19：Friendly staff, making all ways to make customer feeling at home during the stay. When we missed the shuttle bus, they arranged hotel bus for us to go to skiing place. Both thumbs up..good service.

Review 20：Pillows are extremely hard and doonah was not big enough for anyone near 175cm tall. Got around the doonah issue by using two doonahs but If they changed the pillows would of been an awesome stay!

Review 21：Hot springs were amazing, very friendly staff, discount at hotel on ski resort tickets, close to station and has bus to take you there, has its own locker room in the ski shop for your boards, cheap accommodation and one hour by bullet train from Tokyo!

Review 25：Hotel location was really near to the train station and free shuttle service provided. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. They may not speak English well but they tried their best to answer all our queries. Good recommendation by staff to a nearby restaurant that serves really good food. Staff Yuka was especially helpful and polite and speaks good English. She never fail to put on a smile when advising us the different qns we had.

Review 61：The hotel signage is only in Japanese. So for English speakers do your research ahead of time. Hotel is located up a hill with constantly running streams of water. They have free rental boots, but you have to get to the hotel first. A little bit expensive for a hotel with no gym, and no in-room wifi.

Review 62：The staff, while the level of English wasn't great. They were very enthusiastic and were able to communicate all the information we needed. Special thanks to Hiroto Hoshina for all his help. The on-site onsens are fabulous. The hotel has a Ski Shop located just next door where the rentals and repairs are priced very reasonably. The location is a very short walk from the Echigo Yuzawa JR Train Station.
