Review 1：The attention and care given to every detail in this hostel is incredible. From room to menu design, the caring staff and the great breakfast. I had a minor medical issue and the gracious manager went to great lengths to help.

Review 2：The place has the coziest hostel atmosphere blended with the most elegant design. The staff is always ready and happy to help you. The Bikan Historical area that surrounds the hostel is wonderful. And it's even at a cheap price!

Review 19：I only stayed one night at Hostel Cuore but it was a pleasant stay. Stylish, clean, and organized. Big, comfortable queen bed in small but otherwise sufficient room. Very close to Bikan Historical area. At the semi basement, there's a cool bar that is pleasant to spend time in. Staff were very helpful and didn't hesitate to see if they can improve their service.

Review 20：Shower on different floor. No wifi in the room. No real lounge or area to hang out. The restaurant had a wedding party, it's not exclusive for the guests.

Review 25：The bar/restaurant on the first floor is very stylish and nice but makes it awkward to ask for something when there is a nomikai or something like that. You need to wear footwear to go to the shower room because it's "outside" it's weird to wear shoes after you shower just to go back to your room.

Review 27：There was nothing to dislike. Unless you don't like sleeping on a futon on the floor. But the futon is actually very comfortable and good for your back! The rooms are small and there is no furniture but that is to be expected of a traditional Japanese hotel room. It was neat and the bathroom very good. It's not a room to hang out in. Just to sleep! There was a strange smell in the room and I thought it was some chemical but I later smelled that out in nature so I assume it's a plant and must have come from outside. But it was rather pervasive.

Review 28：We liked the location in the old part of Kurashiki. I must mention here that Kurashiki is not really worth a detour. If you happen to pass nearby and have the time, go, otherwise, move on. The hostel is very informal and youthful looking, with great design details. There is no lobby but the common area is a very cozy and chic bar/restaurant where a lot of local young people congregate. There is music and even movie screenings. It's a nice place to hang out. The staff is very friendly and tries hard to be helpful but the fact that no one speaks foreign languages makes it a bit difficult. We managed though. The hotel staff was also very accommodating when we needed to change the reservation and did not penalize us.

Review 33：Compared to other general hotels, the price of cuore is not as less expensive as a hostel is supposed to be. I guess it's probably because it's located in Bikan district and new. However, some of hotels in town could offer a room for the same price with more amenities and equipments.

Review 34：I stayed cuore at single room for two nights (not dormitory). The room was simple and tidy. Shared shower rooms and toilets were new and clean. Location was good and the lobby/bar at the ground floor is nice and cool. Staff were friendly. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

Review 37：The open atrium connecting the rooms was freezing in the winter, but there is no other way to get to the bathroom or downstairs to the lounge. They ask you what time you want breakfast (7:00-8:30 possible) at check-in. However, I showed up at 7:00 and nobody was there until 7:35 :-( Because of this, I missed my train...

Review 49：Really recommend a stop over here if you are travelling Japan and doing the rail pass thing. Kurashiki is a beautiful small town, great history and streets from ancient Samurai movies. Quiet in the evening but nice restaurants and bars. Beautiful place to wander during the day, nice canals, stores, a real different view of historic Japan. The hostel is excellent, very friendly and attractive and brilliant vibe, very diff to rest of Japan. Easy to get to.

Review 57：We chose Kurashiki as a step to go to Naoshima, the famous art island - and only because it was close to Okayama and the train station. Much to our surprise, this little charming hotel is full of smart design. It is a four stories building completely renovated to receive nice bedrooms (each different from the other), great and spotless communal bathroom facilities and a lovely lobby / reception / bar / restaurant. The ground floor has even a place for a library and a hammock room! But most of all, the staff is amazing: super friendly and gentle, they introduced us to local beverage and arranged delicious snack meal even the kitchen was closed. And, in addition to all, Kurashiki is an historical site, with an old typically Japanese settlement 2 blocks away from the hotel, that includes a trip on the small river in a typical boat, dozens of charming little stores and restaurants and a set of interesting museums. We got there by chance but were sorry we did not stay more. Totally recommend hostel cuore kurashiki!
