Review 1：The only issue were the beds. They weren't comfortable.

Review 24：Returned having stayed at this hotel last year. We stayed in a similar property to last year but found it very much showing signs of wear & tear. Mould round shower screen, handle fell of bathroom door, no cushions on roof loungers this year, air con kept tripping fuse and walls needed painting as quite scuffed. We may have been unlucky with this apartment but standards seemed to be slipping! This is however still a lovely place.

Review 31：They have a very annoying system of requesting a payment up in front, during check in. Rather than just make a preauthorization on the card, they force you to pay on arrival and then if you make a different arrangement, they bring you back to the reception by invalidating the room card - this happened to me 3 times over 2 days and was really annoying as the hotel is rather large and the distances from the room to the reception can be long (our room was right at the very end :).

Review 32：Excellent quality of room, food, service, wifi, spa, etc, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel located just a couple of minutes walk from a lovely beach. Large and very comfortable room and bathroom (studio), the best breakfasts we've had on our tour de Portugal. All in all - a perfect place for a summer holiday, we wished we could stay longer than just a couple of days. The distance from Lagos as described in other comments is true and was actually an advantage to me. It was nice to be a little bit away from the town vibration, hustle, noise, traffic...

Review 33：We took sun at the pool a lot, and found that the pool itself was not heated with the water being approx 65F. Also, there was a bar by the pool that was never opened (we stayed in mid-September). It would have been nice to be able to get drinks/snacks while at the pool.

Review 34：Great value for money! Steps away from the beach Short drive to Praia Dona Ana beach, or to the town center! Very good breakfast! We stayed here for 5 nights and found that the facilities and the apartment itself were very well designed! The one bedroom apartment is large, with a nice balcony too. There is an underground parking lot in each buildling, so that made it easy to use the car on a regular basis.

Review 36：Two couples mid 30's, We stayed in a 2 bed roof top balcony apt, We could fault nothing about the Belmar. It's location, facilities, finish etc were all at the highest level. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Review 37：Beautiful views of ocean from pool area. several pools-All clean and inviting-surrounded by patio with ample lounge chairs. we loved our room that had an efficiency kitchen, large, comfortable bed and bathroom. just outside the sliding doors was a private table and chairs on a small patio, then a small grass area and privacy hedge. up a few steps and you were at the pool. spa wad available but we did not use it. there were a series of interconnected jacuzzi tubs with various types of water jets and showers. Many were not working so that was a negative.

Review 38：The outdoor jacuzzi by the spa does not fully work (air jets dont turn on in various areas and the shower streams dont turn on either). Same issue last year. Other than that perfect!

Review 46：The breakfast was awful. All the products are from the poorest quality. breakfast has only one star and does not fit at all to a four star hotel. Is not recommandable at all. Coffee has such an awful taste that it is not drinkable at all.

I would like the management to consider solar heating for the outdoor pools, they are mostly a bit too cool to get into.

Review 64：Modern, clean apartment. TV & Wifi were good. I like the fact they say no reserving sunbeds, signs need to be more prominent. Gym is clean and well equipped. Bedrooms are nice, a choice of pillows would be good as ours were too soft.

Review 65：We stayed in a studio room, the room has all you need but you can hear everything that is happening in the hall way - so each morning we could hear the cleaners chatter away while cleaning the rooms - next time we'd pay more for an apartment so that there are more doors between us and them. Also, the spa, we spent hours in there floating in the hydrotherapy suite but it is a bit run down, tiles missing here and there and most of the hydrotherapy amenities no longer work.

Review 66：Loved our stay in the Belmar. The website undersells the resort. We traveled with a large group so got to see each type of apartment/room and each was more beautiful than the last (we were in a studio so were very jealous of the 3 bed in the end). The location is 10 mins by taxi to the center of town, we only really ventured to town for food and drinks at night because the resort and near by beach provided all we needed otherwise. We'll definitely come back again and again.

Review 67：The reception staff were extremely rude upon arrival. They made numerous offhand comments, and in addition to this were extremely unorganized. It seemed that they were inconvenienced by having to check us in.

Review 68：The hotel itself was absolutely lovely. The rooms were immaculate with plenty of space, and the pool and spa area was fantastic. They provided towels which was good. The facilities in the rooms were excellent. Great views from the balcony. 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5/10 minute taxi ride from the centre of town.

Review 69：The price of breakfast was steep. Only wanted toast and coffee, so 11 or 13 euros was too much.

Review 71：We had one day of rain so I decided to make use of the indoor pool facilities. This is one area I felt needed to improve as it all seemed a little tired. There were no dressing gowns or slippers provided in the lockers & There were no shoe covers provided either. Half of the press buttons in the hydro pool didn't work & some of the mosaic tiles were missing. The Turkish bath was lovely & steamy & could have benefitted from a little essential oil. With a little revamp this can be made great again.

Review 72：This is our second visit to the Belmar which we both love for the location & the quality of the apartments & we stayed for two weeks. We treated ourselves to a rooftop terrace apartment this time which was absolutely stunning & also had the benefit of sun almost all day. The apartments are truly lovely so clean & very well maintained by the lovely cleaning ladies who were always smiling. We used the hotel for breakfast on a couple of occasions which had a very good selection of both hot & cold food options. Ricardo on reception recommended a wonderful restaurant cafe du mar. The dedicated pool area was lovely as being later in the season we had the benefit of often having it to ourselves. The hotel provided quality transfers to & from the hotel & also c/o the hotel we got a 7 day car hire car. All in all a truly wonderful place to stay.

Review 75：Overall, the property could use a little refreshing. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The sun loungers and umbrellas were old and some were broken. The breakfast buffet was ok, but not great and you would be better eating offsite for lunch and dinner. Housekeeping was very sporadic and never left soap or clean towels, we always had to request these items from the front desk, which we never experienced at any of the other hotels we stayed in in Portugal.

There were very little activities offered, and the 2 classes that were offered - yoga and interval training - charged €15 per class. The location is a few mins walk to a nice beach, but up a steep hill to town, supermarket or other beaches, but only €5 into town or the supermarket or a short drive.

All the hotel and grounds were very well maintained and looked new and clean. Buffet breakfast and dinner were very good, and reasonably priced for the amount of food.

Review 79：A few housekeeping oversights : No coffee making machine or cafetiere coffee press in room. Not enough dishes for 4 people. Mold in shower tile grout. Showerhead would not stay in place without spraying water all over the bathroom floor. Most of the spa jets in the indoor thermal pools werent working.

Review 96：Confusion over where children could swim. Sign posted on indoor pool door said no one under 16; however, there were unsupervised children (under age 10) in pool. Family of 5 tried to use sauna and turkish baths. Another guest had to ask them to leave. Screaming babies in spa area. There is a beautiful shallow outdoor pool. That should be the one parents use for the children under 5. Spa and pool staff needs to be properly trained to actively check lounge chairs for "absent" hotel guests. Had to sit on only beach chaise left on afternoon and it was broken. Also staff needs to walk spa area often to minize chaos of strollers and absent parents.

Review 97：Fantastic location - walk able to beach and two beach restaurants. Close to bus which goes to town every hour. Well equipped apartment complete with cooking utensils, dishwasher, washer - so nice. Lovely outdoor balcony. Staff works hard to keep entire property clean. Thank you.

Review 98：We had an apartment with a roof terrace which we didn't make use of us as there were 4 of us but only 2 sun loungers and there wasn't any shade or umbrella.

Review 99：The apartment and furnishings were lovely. The kitchen and appliances were particularly good. The hotel was in a good position near the beach.

Review 100：A couple of niggles - our lights tripped every day and there were many loose tiles around the pool. Could do with more sun shades round the pool and the loungers and shades need a revamp. Not sure whether it's a virtue of it being the end of the summer but some maintenance work required in the pool areas.

Review 101：This is our second time at the Belmar - I posted a review in June about the fact that the swimming pool wasn't particularly child friendly however this time round we discovered another pool - with a warm shallow area for children and a poolside bar. Location is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. We'll definitely come back - it's a great base for a holiday in Lagos and for exploring the beaches further west.

Review 112：We booked an apartment with three bedrooms in May and we asked for a special room because we celebrate the 40 years of marriage of my parents. The apartment, that the hotel give us, had a view of the reception area, the parking and air conditioned machines, furthermore we had to ask for some maintenance works because the door of the wardrobe didn't work, the TV didn't work, some electric outlets didn't have children protection, the mop was broken just pick it up. Most of the equipment in the SPA didn't work, so in summary the hotel need a proper labor of maintenance and more kind staff to get clients feel are in an amazing hotel, not in an expensive one.

Review 113：We had a 3 bed apartment with roof terrace. Very clean and well equipped. Several pools to choose from (although we preferred the beaches). Towels and linen were changed midway through our 6 night stay and other than that we were left to our own devices which suited us perfectly. Staff very helpful and friendly at reception when we needed them and they kindly let us use the facilities even after we'd checked out on our final day.

Review 120：Quite pricey for the comfort received. Waiting lines at breakfast, not enough chairs around the pool, access to our unit pool through the indoor garage. Large 3-bedroom apartment with roof terrace not interesting: terrasse is up a flight of stairs, with electrical machines on the roof and a high wall that blocks the view. We had great terrace with a sea view, but you don't enjoy it too much, cause during the day its too hot, and in the evening it gets pretty windy from the sea breeze. we had a car, so no problem with going to Lagos for dinner every day. we did not go to the hotel's restaurant even once, so can't really give you a proper advice, but we went into it on the first evening to see what is offer in the buffet, and decided to experience the Lagos old quarters, which is great place offering everybody something attractive.. As we were informed while booking, apartment was cleaned once and towels were exchanged twice, so no surprise here.

Review 136：The water jet pool area needed serviced, the majority of jets did not work and there were loose tiles in it. There was not enough sun loungers and umbrellas at the pool we used, at the water jet area.

Review 137：Staff were fantastic, very pleasant and helpful. Apartment was gorgeous and very clean.

Review 138：The restaurant did not have a vegetarian option so we did not use it. The 2 restaurants on the beach were also extremely limited for vegetarians, but a 15 minute walk up the hill brings you back into the more urban area of Lagos with plenty of places to eat and a small supermarket.

Review 139：Beautiful apartment, positioned very close to a beautiful beach, friendly and accommodating staff, nice swimming pool and spa area to relax in after a day on the beach.

Review 140：Miss leading info - be ware: A. Does the name or even the description indicate that this is an apartment hotel - No! B. In the room description there is a line that says this type of room is cleaned only 2 times a week C. We stayed 5 nights so room was cleaned only once for10 min at 18:30 D. Balcony that is considered a general area was never cleaned E. Entrance to our block had a birds nest and full of bird droppings when arrived and was there when we left. When complained to the manger she said 1. it's the first time in 5 years she has heard about this type of issue. 2.we should have known it's an apartment hotel - and I ask how? The name and description on booking.com doesn't give it up. 3. Gave us the feeling we took a cheap deal (1650€) and said that the other side is the good side. The general feeling was she couldn't give a damn,and doesn't understand why we felt miss led. So think well if it's worth the money, I'm not sure but hey maybe it's just me... Just hope because I complained won't be charged the 250 Euro they take in case of damages.

Review 142：Great location beside the beach. The apartments were of a very high standard. Rooftop terrace had wonderful panoramic views. Multiple pools to choose from.

From November to February, Levante Restaurant is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00.Please note that the use of a car is recommendable, since Lagos and other points of interests are a short drive away.At check-in, guests will be requested to leave a security deposit of EUR 250 to cover any damage to the property during their stay.
