Reviews for Casa Andina Private Collection Puno
Review 1:The hotel, was some distance from the town centre and the approach unprepossessing. The rooms we had were small and could be noisy when other guests were in the lobby. Not all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel was not as luxurious as its sister hotel (private collection) in Lima.
Review 2:The location, overlooking the lake, was good.
Review 3:I was disappointed with the horrific charges for laundry. This was one of only two location where I was booked more than one night during my stay in Peru - so I planned a laundry day here. Don't. Just use one of the 2-hour places somewhere else. Additionally - I was really disappointed with all the Casa Andinas I stayed at in my three weeks. None of them had any stamps available nor mailing service for post cards or letters home - but every other hotel I stayed in did. Even the cheap ones.
Review 4:The location on the lake was both beautiful, but inconvenient. The view was nice, but there is a railroad track between you & the lake (which wasn't disclosed), and you are a little remote from town. This is a nice place to stay if you intend to stay on site, but not for walking.
Review 5:Charming and beautifully situated in Lake Titicaca, this is a gem. Staff was helpful and kind and the accommodations were very comfortable. Ask for a lake view!
Review 6:Casa Andina is a chain which charges 10 Soles (3 Euros) for 1 liter of water (you can not drink the tap water in Peru) and they charge for internet
Review 7:the location of this small hotel directly on the Titicacalake is really great, the staff is so friendly and nice, they helped with everything
Review 8:Nothing,
Review 9:The staff were absolutely outstanding and helped us with so many requests from tours to oxygen for altitude sickness! The setting on the lake was beautiful and quiet, being a little way out of Puno. My request for a late checkout was dealt with so wonderfully - no extra cost and an extra four hours to pack ourselves up whilst we were feeling a little unwell from the altitude.
Review 10:The access road
Review 11:Giovanni went out of his way to get us a king bed though our reservation was for a twin. When we had an issue with one room he changed us to another room after talking to his superiors and gave us a lake view room at no extra charge. He even searched us out at the restaurant to get us the new room key!
Review 12:The location on the edge of Lake Titicaca, just outside Puno is great. Fantastic for birdwatching. The hotel is comfortable and the staff very helpful.
Review 13:I think a pool/jacuzzi would be a good addition as their grounds and position over the lake is so lovely
Review 14:comfort of bed and size of room, very good staff, way from busy and noisy Puno. Very clean
Review 15:Located about 3 miles out of town, it was a very quiet location, especially during festival, but only a $3 taxi ride. The boat from Uros dropped us off at the hotel's private dock, as did the train from Cusco.
Review 16:Wifi did not work in hotel room. A lake side room on first view barely gives you a view of lake and you pay more. Balconies are only big enough for one person. Rooms are only adequate size for one person. No complimentary water was provided each day. Bath plug did not work and bathrooms need updating. Quality of service poor. Had difficulty with flight and unable to help.
Review 17:The bed was comfortable.
Review 18:Front desk staff was not helpful, Internet does not work in rooms and only very wwak in lobby or restaurant, rooms have a bad smell, bathtub was damaged and the shower was either hot or cold, no complimentary water, they charge 4 € per bottle, food in restaurant was tasteless and glasses dirty (lipstick) I was given a room facing a very busy street, while the booking suggested room with lake view.
Review 19:The heating in the bathroom
Review 20:No wifi in bedroom Check in staff not helpful when asked if they could ring another hotel for us to change a booking, they told us to do it ourselves from our room No flexibility when we asked reception staff to change a booking for us: we had a booking for 2 nights and decided on night No2 to go on the islands for the night and come back for another night after that. We asked if they could cancel our second night and book us again for the following night: the answer was no! We did that with other hotels as our plans changed as we traveled and this was never an issue. But Casa Andina in Puno refused and charged us (not cheap!) 3 nights when we stayed only 2. We were aware of the conditions, but we did not find this professional at all. Tapas deal in the lounge very expensive To be charged in soles for the food&bev and USD for the room
Review 21:Location Breakfast Pontoon to the lake garden Staff Happy hour
Review 22:It is a good hotel at Casa Andina quality, i.e. well educated staff, many useful services (including printer to print boarding passes) and good food in the restaurant. Nice location with lake view and own pier. It is a little outside of Puno (i.e. you will need a taxi to get there)
Review 23:Smell from stagnant water or sewage meant balcony unusable. One chair inside and one out. Despite superior room. No fridge. Train wakes u at 05:00 if u can sleep with alt sickness ! Puno cab ride thru rough area no walking after dark. Puno is a dump.
Review 24:Food excellent. Lake view with doors closed. Staff helpful.
Review 25:Great having pier access so could go straight out to Uros and Amanti Island
Review 26:Remote location.
Review 27:Beautiful hotel and helpful staff.
Review 28:Stunning view of the lake!
Review 29:Own floating island. Snake bar and tea place. Everything very good organizes for travelers.
Review 30:None
Review 31:The location was perfect as the pier for getting on the boat to visit the floating islands was a few metres from our lobby.
Review 32:The location is too far removed from the town, which leaves no alternatives to the hotel facilities.
Review 33:Friendly personnel
Review 34:We order a matrimonial beds they confirm and never give us, the wifi never run,
Review 35:The bed
Review 36:Not enough water on the shower.
Review 37:Everything
Review 38:Cleanliness, bed, restaurant
Review 39:Wifi
Review 40:Location
Review 41:The service provided (e.g. pick up from the airport and contracted tour agency were expensive!) No wifi in the room.
Review 42:beautiful lake view
Review 43:There was nothing we didn't like it was fantastic.
Review 44:We like the view. The location was good.
Review 45:Surroundings, attention to detail
Review 46:Comfortable room Wonderful hot water Great location Friendly and helpful staff Excellent breakfast
Review 47:Friendly, professional staff. Excellent location for touring Lake TIticaca. The upstairs bar with a tapas buffet and fireplace is very cozy and a great place for chatting with other travelers.
Review 48:The hotel is located on a beautiful location on lake. Clean, comfort and staff is good. Will highly recommended this place for stay. Food is okay. Not many options for vegetarian and no restaurant around.
Review 49:Reception staff a little unhelpful on arrival
Review 50:Restaurant a little pricey but we had a fantastic meal, breakfast was good with a varied choice. We had tapas deal in the bar one night which was good value. Bar staff friendly
Review 51:The hotel tried to charge us an extra $120 on what we had booked through booking.com and then tried to tell us that it was the 10% tax we had to pay (which only came to $24). The dining room menu also states that taxes & services are included in the prices but when the bill came they were added on. No elevators
Review 52:The views of Puno at night. The hotel is a little out of town which is why the views are so good.
Review 53:The hotel's age is showing. The rooms' bathroom could use renovations. The price charged by the hotel for laundry was excessive compared to the price charged for the same service elsewhere in Peru.
Review 54:We liked the location on Lake Titicaca with a room facing the lake. There was heating in the room. The hotel provided an oxygen tank which was very helpful to us in dealing with the altitude. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
Review 55:Hotel was a dump, needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. its poorly designed, tired , shabby and dirty. food in restaurant was poor and expensive for what it was. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.
Review 56:Location was good. Staff were friendly but really not very bright.
Review 57:The hotel made us switch rooms between the 1st and 2nd night.
Review 58:It was a short taxi ride (5 minutes) from town, yet outside the hustle and bustle with nice lake views.
Review 59:The staff in the reception area can be a little cold, at times. A smilegoes a long way! The water pressure in the bathtub and shower could bebetter. The drain plug in my bathtub did not work.
Review 60:The food is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Bedding is verycrisp and nice. The views are lovely and the waiters in the restaurantare welcoming.
Review 61:The road leading to the hotel is not good Some construction/maintenance activities around
Review 62:Good location Good view of Titicaca Good restaurant
Review 63:staff not very friendly
Review 64:view on the lake
Review 65:Paper thin walls - we could hear guests distinctly in other rooms
Review 66:Terrace + restaurant - view of lake
