Reviews for The Chedi Muscat

Review 1:I wish the decor had a bit more color.

Review 2:The Friday buffet is crazy - so much variety, so much flavor. We could barely move after eating. The outdoor garden and waterways were beautiful and relaxing.

Review 3:No bad, or even slightly disappointing experiences.

Review 4:The building design, how it fits into the look and feel of the immediate environment is very special.

Review 5:The room was cramped and toiletries missing Waiting staff very attentive

Review 6:Beautiful Paradise Fantastic breakfasts. French butter best bread ever Added advantage of being on the beach

Review 7:Excellent service from all staff. As first time visitors to Muscat, they were extremely helpful and informative with their recommendations on tours and restaurants. The hotel itself was clean and beautifully maintained. Overall, a very positive experience for my family.

Review 8:The only negative to this hotel is that it doesn't offer interconnecting rooms. Not always ideal when travelling with children. But they had a room across the hall, which turned out to be close enough.

Review 9:Staff went out of their way to cater to all our needs. Not always very efficient, but always with the best intentions and a smile. The friendliness was exceptional.

Review 10:.The way they treat gusts. .Bad service of Lundy .They forced me to pay for new year party even I did not attend .unconfortabe queen bed size even we are two adults. . Curtains did not close properly so had in comfortable sleep . No reaction with gusts complains and comments

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Very expensive We were charged more than you advised us the cost would be for the 2 x Rooms - over £2,000 extra. They did not allow a foldaway bed in the Room for our daughter (aged 10) along with her 2 x Brothers - the Room was plenty big enough to accommodate a small fold-away (z-Bed). Nothing for Teenagers - No activities direct from the Beach - the Sailing Club was a long way away

Review 13:The staff were excellent

Review 14:Rooms small and bath room dirty. After having seen numerous hotels in my life I would definitely not consider this one as a leading hotel of the world

Review 15:Nice pool area

Review 16:The hotel needs a restaurant serving lighter meals in the evening.

Review 17:The totally relaxing atmosphere of the hotel, the calm around the Long Pool. The courteous and attentive staff. for whom nothing is too much trouble.

Review 18:It was a bit expensive especially for drinks which is normal in gulf countries. I ordered a salad by the pool and it was tiny portion and very expensive. I didn't find the bed comfortable which was disappointing for such an expensive and beautiful hotel.

Review 19:Excellent view hospitality and atmosphere.

Review 20:The sofa in the room was too firm to sit on and placed on the same wall as the TV so clearly not a TV sofa.

Review 21:A beautiful and enormous hotel between the city centre and the airport. The rooms are comfortable, food and staff excellent and outdoor pools just to die for.

Review 22:Noise from next room whenever they are using toilet you can hear the sound of running water while they are flushing. or taking a shower. this is a 5 stars hotel but poor sound proof between the rooms. Poor menu for the dinner with un reasonable price. very expensive while the taste of the food was so poor.

Review 23:I Like the atmospheric of the hotel

Review 24:Attitude of some managers as they were unable to deal with two issues.

Review 25:The facilities, the pool, gym and the food. Dimitri from front office was excellent... Special thanks to him!

Review 26:Housekeeping were not up to standard. Had to call them at 9pm to make up children's beds. Had to also call then at 3pm to make beds and clean room . This should have been done early in the day due to us leaving the room by 9am! No beach activities on offer at all.

Review 27:The food was lovely . The layout of gardens and pools beautiful.

Review 28:It was a long weekend in peace! Excellent location, Zen atmosphere, very clean facilities, very well trained and polite staff. Must try chef's menu at the awarded The Beach Restaurant. Highly recommended!

Review 29:I loved the landscape and architecture, Arab features in a modern minimalistic design, lighting is very soft an impressively done. Amazing pool, with no children allowed. Free airport transfer is a good plus.

Review 30:Not really any evening entertainment - it could do with some music to liven up the restaurants and bars.

Review 31:A beautiful hotel! And wonderful service. Such a relaxing break.

Review 32:This hotel although expensive was one of the best hotels that I have stayed at. There is no constructive criticism that I can give to this hotel. The staff and facilities were excellent. The hotel was quiet and discreet.

Review 33:Amazing property - idyllic, serene and totally secluded, this has to be one of the best hotels you can find anywhere in the world. Amazing facilities, fascinating architecture and design, and fantastic staff who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

Review 34:That I wasn't there long enough!

Review 35:The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for guests, even going to the extent of offering things rather than being simply reactive.

Review 36:Reception was not so good as we would expect for a 5 star hotel.

Review 37:I have to say the location is awsome, hotel has all the details which needed. Staff was very nice and friendly

Review 38:We had the bad surprise of not having our 3 pre booked rooms located beside one another despite having booked 6 months prior to our arrival. Also we would have appreciated being notified that 2 out of 3 pools are not allowed to children below 16, as well as 2 restaurants. Basically when you are between 7 to 16 year old, you end up paying the full (and very expensive) price (no extra bed allowed) but 2/3rd of the facilities (2 pools & 2 restaurants) are not allowed. How fair is that.

Review 39:The Chedi has made the best of a somewhat average location. The grounds are perfectly maintained and the lighting of the gardens is stunning. The different bars and restaurants are cosy and the food excellent. Special mention to the breakfast buffet.

Review 40:We had the bad surprise of not having our 4 pre booked rooms not located beside one another despite having booked several months prior to our arrival. Also we would have appreciate being notified that 2 out of 3 pools are not allowed to children below 16, as well as 2 restaurants. This does not seem fair considering they all pay full price...

Review 41:NOTHING!

Review 42:STUNNING, GORGEOUS resort with beautiful views of the ocean. Seamless checkin, beautiful room and staff is top notch. Breakfast was amazing and so extensive. Pools are beyond nice, warm oceam waters, clean private beach! CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!

Review 43:Generally the place is decent and appreciate

Review 44:Room was very clean with good toiletries Breakfast choices were great Landscaping was excellent regardless of hot weather

Review 45:The bed wasn't comfortable, we felt the mattress was too harsh It would be great if there was a bar at the lounge area. More staff are required around the pool.

Review 46:The staff seemed not experienced (especially in the pool area). Our checkin was so slow and lacking the personal touch of care we were looking for. The room keeping did not also do their job of following up when we reported some dirty spots of the room. The prices also were so expensive on the pool bar minue. The room facilities have some out dated items (20 in flat secreen/ iphone4 docking station)..

Review 47:Dont miss the GYM. It is one of the best. The swimming pools are awesome. The beach area is organaized, neat and totally worth it.

Review 48:Cost and portions of the food, the club room was just not worth the money (no balcony, window cant open, no view)

Review 49:Not much really - the pools are beautiful. The hotel is clean and decent but the overall experience just did not match up to the price you pay!

Review 50:Not all staff could not understand properly English. Restaurants not all available and they do not give priority on hotel guests for reservations. Room cleaning were knocking the doors, late afternoon-early evenings when people suppose to be in their rooms relaxing, having shower and get ready for dinner.

Review 51:Beautiful spa rooms and treatments.

Review 52:Move the loungers from the beach side of the infinity pool so you really feel you are at one with the ocean.

Review 53:The location, the staff, the facilities the restaurants.

Review 54:Close to the airport is a good thing convenience wise but then a few aeroplanes passing over head. Beach is not that great.

Review 55:Long pool was a great spot to relax. Gym was good - range of kit and lots of water etc complimentary. Restaurant was excellent - have to eat here. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Review 56:The shower in room.

Review 57:Atmosphere, ambience, outside space and facilities. The decor and the staff most especially Ravinder and Brian, very friendly and attentive without imposing.

Review 58:Fabulous architecture and environment and meals in beautiful surroundings, especially breakfast and the sae front fish restaurant. Huge space around the hotel and brilliant pools, and lovely beach and sea. This is a spectacular hotel, great to stay.

Review 59:-very COLD AC. even for the lowest option. -baby blended food wasn't easily ordered -dirty cups and saucers in room -smelly employees in housekeeping = hygiene - the hallway and lobby smelled of something weird needs refreshment or some kind of scented air diffuser

Review 60:outdoor landscape and ground decor

Review 61:Entry/exit to the pools is difficult if disabled as there are no rails to hold onto. Entry to the shop is also difficult as there are steps with nothing to hold onto.

Review 62:Beautiful, luxurious, relaxing hotel. The staff were brilliant, particularly Rex in the club lounge and Brian at the Serai pool - nothing was too much trouble.

Review 63:No tea/coffee making facilities in the suite.

Review 64:The pure serenity, peace and quiet of the gardens, with the only sounds those of birds and water fountains. The ever helpful but unobtrusive staff, that 100m swimming pool, the outstanding spa, the spacious and comfortable club suite Overall one of the very best, anywhere.

Review 65:The hotel is blissfully serene and really relaxes you. Rooms are great and staff are extremely helpful. Some great touches that make a big impression make it an overall great break.

Review 66:Hotel absolutely not kids friendly. All families with kids are denied access to infinity pool and long pool. Basically, with kids you don't have access to most of the facilities of the hotel. This should have been clarified on booking. Food is over priced in all hotel's restaurants.

Review 67:-

Review 68:It is a paradise on Earth. A very peaceful, quiet, romantic elope. Staff was very caring and polite. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is very good, the restaurants in the hotel are very diverse and good, basically no need to go out of the property. You can relax and calm your body, mind and soul in every corner of the property, especially in the evening, as the lights are dim all over which creates a really nice and relaxing atmosphere. I loved the fact that even though there were quite some people around, everyone was quiet, relaxed and did not ruin the peaceful feeling. I would recommend it to everyone, especially couples. So romantic! This was my best experience so far.

Review 69:it is little expencive when we comper with anther five star hotel in Oman or galf

Review 70:we like the hotel , staff are smilling , nice room nice resturant we like the food , it is nice location neer the sea , we almost like the WiFi in room , staff also cooprative and when we ask for anything there answer fastly , it is quit place

Review 71:Check-in process was a bit inefficient as my wife checked in a couple of hours before me which confused the staff and led them to suggest I didn't have a booking. A slightly stressful start to my stay but after that everything was great. Also some staff were not clear on the operating hours of the club lounge

Review 72:Room was amazing. Great location. Staff in club lounge (particularly Rex) were really friendly and helpful

Review 73:My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the Chedi really looked after us from upgrading our room , to giving us a welcome cake and the spa upgraded our treatments with extra treatments. This made us very happy we had chosen the chedi

Review 74:The restaurant service needs to be improved. The general sense I got was that the hotel seems to be understaffed.

Review 75:They upgraded one of our rooms to match the 2 other rooms. The staff are friendly, and they do everything we ask, never heard a NO.

Review 76:The staff and management made our trip unforgettable! Our room was upgraded and it was the perfect way to spend my husband's 30th birthday! We can't wait to return...

Review 77:It is hard to find anything not to like! The food in the restaurant was a bit disappointing and not to the standard for the price, it lacked seasoning and was quite bland. Another dish was overly spicy even though we'd said we didn't like it too hot. Atmosphere and surroundings were lovely. Staff very helpful, good wine selection.

Review 78:Everything, it's the most amazing place!

Review 79:The bed was small; asked for two doubles, got a small queen; not big enough, especially given the price you pay for the room. Wifi is spotty at best around the hotel; worked well in the rooms.

Review 80:Breakfast and facilities/grounds were beautiful. The pool caretakers who bring you great cucumber and mint water were really polite and attentive.

Review 81:Long pool was out of order which was one of the main reasons we booked the chedimuscat. Disappointing but didn't affect our experience.

Review 82:Staff were friendly and service impeccable

Review 83:When I ordered for room service they didn't get me what I wanted

Review 84:I liked the decor and ambiance of the hotel it was extremely relaxing & exactly what I needed . The hotel was very clean

Review 85:The pools could use a bit more shade - there aren't enough umbrellas/shade areas.

Review 86:Staff are very professional and friendly. The layout of the hotel is very welcoming and the grounds impeccable.

Review 87:obsolete Bose speakers and smallish LG TV aren't the best feature of the hotel, nor are the creaky manual blinds and the heavy fixed external louvre which obscures most of the sea view. The food in the restaurant is a little disappointing for a hotel of this ilk.

Review 88:great service from all of the staff, good facilities

Review 89:I was on a honeymoon experience and I did not regret my selection at all. Managed to get a room upgrade that complemented my stay further. Clean rooms ,Remarkable team to include Mr. Ashraf that will go a great distance to get your requests done.

Review 90:The staff made sure that we were very comfortable and everything was possible. It is a great place to go as a couple to relax and unwind at the pool with great food.

Review 91:Strict dress code for the lunch. I understand the dinner dress code but for the lunch I did not really appreciate the tone and way I have been looked (I was just with a nice short and normal tee shirt) for the lunch area more especially when you are Client of the Hotel. We have been "parked" in a very dark area. Was not a pleasant experience.

Review 92:Very quiet, extremely good service, amazing pool areas

Review 93:Slow reception during check-in period Some waiters possessed less knowledge of the restaurant products

Review 94:Huge beautiful territory with nice facilities Amazing meals for breakfast and dinner Charming ambiance of the hotel Having alcohol license during Eid Free mini bar products Very good SPA experience

Review 95:Room airconditioner is noisy. Value for money cannot compete with many hotels in Dubai. Lunch menu and dinner menu are the same. For a two day stay you choose 4 meals from the same menu.

Review 96:Relaxing atmosphere.

Review 97:Lobby is very dark, on arrival one does not get a feel of being in a beautiful sea country like Oman Room was functional but surprisingly did not have any kind of views. Even though I was told that I was being upgraded to a Deluxe room from a Serai room, it was weird as the room had a balcony/terrace area in front which could not be accessed. Front desk team needs to be better aligned to customer needs and requirements. They also need to see all kind of rooms and suites. They may not be completely aware. Corridors could be better lit. The door from lobby to the rooms should be sensor operated. Shower cubicle as a water drainage issue.

Review 98:Location is central Swimming pool/s is nice Had a superb meal for dinner at the main restaurant. Excellent service and great kitchen F&B team seems to be very well trained and on the ball. Bell desk was helpful. Laundry service was efficient

Review 99:The beach isnt its finest point not is its location sandwiched between scrub ...

Review 100:Ambience, quality of staff, absolute comfort in our room which had everything we needed ... the gardens and chill out areas by the pools ... fantastic!

Review 101:Television not working properly, hardly any channels available. Corridors in hotel a bit dull compared with the rest of the lay-out. Elevator not indicated.

Review 102:The Spa in the hotel. Free drinks from mini bar.

Review 103:Beach had quite a lot of stones

Review 104:Staff and Management were very friendly and really went out of their way to help. Grounds were so beautiful with many water features. All three pools were lovely and not over crowded. Restaurant's were great, lovely food. Would definitely return.

Review 105:It is just too hot in the summer for this place. The AC in all areas, including the suite we stayed in just was not up to the job in 45C outside heat. For the rate you expect that the AC could be turned down so that you can be comfortable. The restaurants and common areas also struggled to maintain a reasonable temperature.

Review 106:Hotyel location the pools and the suite we stayed in were beautiful. The grounds manicured to perfection. A superb place to chill and relax, but ion the winter months only.

Review 107:Take note that the restaurants require long pants for gents even in summer and even if you're sitting outside.

Review 108:The rooms, restaurants and swimming pools are all great. The entire hotel is very peaceful and perfect for a relaxing break.

Review 109:The hotel: beautiful hotel, well kept, clean. Upon arriving in the hotel foyer we noticed police taking reports of a stolen iPhone 6. Not the best first impression. The pools: beautiful pools, but more like a bath. In 40' heat a cool pool is refreshing. These pools were easily 35' and too warm. The room: can't fault it- room attended to twice daily- very comfortable. Only comment would to be have more sockets for women in the dressing area for hair stylets etc. the restaurant: slow service- food not bad but not exceptional either- considering the price. Breakfast was good, though again, service slow and communication between staff very poor.

Review 110:No bad experiences. It would have been nice if there had been any shops or restaurants within walking distance.

Review 111:I couldn't fault anything about this hotel. My son was unwell and had to visit the hospital. The hotel sent two staff members with him and a car to fetch him back, for which they did not charge. They also allowed him a very late checkout from his room. It was excellent service.

Review 112:Breakfast. rationing of turkey ham & cold counter served slice by meagre slice. Mock sausages, over cooked eggs. No AC in many common areas including lifts. Not kid friendly.

Review 113:A romantic setting in the evenings. Good but not great brunch. Try Movenpick Bahrain. Staff trained to serve the elite.

Review 114:since it was almost fully booked it was hard to find a sunbed around 10am because guests are reserving sunbeds with towels before they go for breakfast the spa is way too expensive

Review 115:the ambience is absolutely amazing - quiet and peaceful - and the pools are stunning... everything is very well designed with an eye for details

Review 116:I hardly find something to complain about, but I would say a lack of AC in the lifts and poor signage around the resort.

Review 117:The elegance, the relaxing setting and atmosphere, relaxing under the palm by the Chedi Pool and sleeping on a cabana without no one disturbing after dinner by the Long Pool.

Review 118:Night menu of Room Service should have more options. Restaurant didn't have arabic menu.

Review 119:Love the beach, the pools and the food at the restaurants.

Review 120:One of reception staff had bad attitude first day we arrived and ruined the stay All rooms looks alike no diff bet deluxe and saray Bad network and wifi outside the room All rooms have queen beds only nobother options

Review 121:Breakfast The sea

Review 122:The showee did not empty properly. There was no where to put towels around the sink whuch felt cluttered. The bedroom windows were dirty

Review 123:The pools and service were excellent.

Review 124:The hotel was full and staff struggled to cope (no water at breakfast buffet, needed to wait for a table) There is not enough seating in the shade. The hotel could do with umbrellas to shade from the sun; and plants to cool it down, make it feel more exotic.

Review 125:Location next to sea

Review 126:Guest booked trough a german travelagency payed less than the half. The private beach was dirty and useless.

Review 127:Very friendly staff and excellent restaurants. Cleanless of the hotel is outstanding.

Review 128:Restaurant staff interrupt your meals all the time constantly trying to push more drinks on you. It's irritating.

Review 129:The ambience Facilities Spa Concierge desk very helpful

Review 130:So close to airport makes it noisy. Is starting to look tired, and in need of a refresh, especially beds. Food selection could be improved by simplifying and delivering good quality rather than multiple options that are average quality.

Review 131:Beautiful grounds and staff are very good

Review 132:There isn't much to choose from in Muscat, Oman but this is possibly the best place there is! We loved the professional staff and the European/Asian/Arabic Zen fusion!

Review 133:Hair salon was the worst and hairdresser had the worst attitude! Also very expensive paid 35 OMR fir an incomplete blowdry. A room with the worst view given at first and changed after complaining only.

Review 134:Wifi is available everywhere, restaurant quality throughout the resort great. Viewsand pool are beautiful
