Review 3：The check in was done with dificulty. We arrived at 13:00 and they told us that we can check in starting with 14:00. We decided to have lunch and we came back at 15:00, one hour after the check in time and the room was not ready.
Review 4：Excelent stay at Hikka Trans. We finished our stay in Sri Lanka here and we reccomand this hotel. Excelent garden, excelent view to the ocean, very good place to see the turtles.Good restaurants, a variety of choice for the breakfast.
Review 5：1.Additional charge on check in as booking.com said I had booked for 2 and on check in it was for solo occupancy. 2. Room one-night one! The smell of damp and two single beds, is not really fair on your honeymoon! 3. Room 2- night 2! smell of damp was unbearable, damp patches everywhere in the room. Dehumidifier can't even cope! in the middle of the night, we both found ourselfs sleeping outside on the balcony (balcony area was fab) 3. Room 3- night 3! The sound of party music thumping up though the floor until after 12am-this was our last night in the hotel-thankfully !! The staff were as helpful as possible, all the above are clearly frequent complaints ! Overpriced accommodation, much better options available in the area. We are passing through Hikkaduwa next week, and certainly will not be staying at Hikka!

Review 8：The hotel staff were very friendly and helped us with a slightly earlier check in. The room sea view was lovely and a good sized balcony. We booked the hotel last minute which meant we paid a very high price which I did t think the hotel overall justified. The pricing for everything from food and drink were very over priced so we are elsewhere. Given the option again I don't think I would have spent the amount as they were plenty of lovely guest houses around for a fraction of the price. That said we had a good time and had no problems with the hotel

Review 14：The location of the hotel was excellent, at one side of the Hikkaduwa bay. Walking distance to the bars and restaurants without being in the thick of it. The corner of the beach also has snorkelling on the coral reef and large turtles could be seen on the shore line. It's one of the few areas along the beach where swimming was possible.
Review 15：mold in the wall because of humidity problem. the room stank very badly. the windows were covered with water and had not been cleaned previous to our arrival. The humidifier in the room did nothing to solve the problem, except keep us awake at night. Without using it the smell was unbearable Kitchen staff was cutting ice with an electric saw on courtyard directly outside our room untill midnight.
Review 16：the grounds of the hotel are very nice. But a serious effort needs to be made to bring the rooms up to the promised level Currently rooms barely reach a 2 star level.
Review 17：The staff were terrible, very rude which is shocking considering everyone else we met whilst in Sri Lanka were the most amazing, nicest people. They provided towels for the pool area but watched you like a hawk and didn't let you take them out on the adjoining beach despite the beach being part of the hotel. We got accosted 3 times by security who said they were watching us on the cameras and wouldn't let us take the towels. TOWELS! As if we were towel thieves! We stayed in 4 places whilst in Sri Lanka and this was by far the worst. You could be anywhere - very European clientele so honestly felt like it could have been Spain! Completely regret it, would recommend staying in one of the many and wonderful guest houses around - much better value for money and you get a real Sri Lanken experience.

Review 21：First impression when you land to hotel is some kind of construction isgoing on somewhere. Definitely need painting and cleaning. Where tostart? Start from roof to ground. It is gonna be ages with theirworking speed.We stayed # 136, asked for silence room. what we end up? Special group Sri Lankan local party for 100's people just in front of our room, downstair. Very low quality of sound system, killing ears, terrible talking and bingo type of games until 12:00 pm midnight. you can't imagine how was it with 2,5 years old baby trying to sleep him. Life and hotel has different surprises and challenges :) After check in, the front desk girl, who suppose to give our room key and basic information, asked if we can find the room ourselves, at the elevator. i said i know how to read room numbers, then she gave the room key and disappear. It was nice to discover how to use aircon, lights, shower, hotel facilities if exist, where is the restaurant, what to do, not to do, etc. ordinary food at main restaurant. ordinary pool, need sun umbrella or something to prevent sun shine to child pool. it was impossible to use it if you don't wanna suicide or kill your baby. nothing for children except pool and turtles at the beach which comes naturally, Irrelevant staff from reception to restaurant, main areas to housekeeping. What is going on this hotel? any management?
Review 22：Room and balcony is really comfortable & big,Crab restaurant is Oasis in Sri Lankan Desert. Location, it is in the middle of small Hikkaduwa town. Sea Turtles at the beach, Squirrels are at the Balcony, exceptional.
Review 23：We were over charged for the room and this was never resolved even after lots of back and forthing. We were repeatedly unimpressed with the serves every time we eat. If there was not a table ready at breakfast we were told to sit down and they would make it up however it would take countless times of us asking to get cutlery napkin cups ect. When asking for a tea or coffee we faced the sample problem. When ordering from the lunch menu we waited 25 mins drinks, it was later in the day and the staff eat lunch so we felt we were left a side. Also in the book in the room the breakfast said it was served till 10.30 as a long flight we went for breakfast at just after 10 and they said sorry it's over. We just had to have what was left and again the staff we eating at this time.

Review 25：There was a one security guard on duty of the (Watchguard Group - Company) who was keen on getting to know whether we were guests of the hotels, being a local it was very embarrassing for us as these guard were having no sense to identify a guest from a wanderer. Better for the Hotel if they procure a set of well trained guards who has the background of hospitality trade with security skills.
Review 26：The environment was very warmly welcoming and the staff was very helpful and attentive. We had a deal thankful to Booking.com and was updated to a HB by the hotel staff for a very nominal rate. The Pool and atmosphere was very nice as it was 3 days prior to the X mas there were nativity play by a young group which was enjoyed by many foreign and locals. There are facilities for diving, snorkeling and people who promote turtle watching. We were lucky to feed sea turtles too.

I was travelling with a group of friends, some of whom were staying in other hotels. the hotel staff were not welcoming of my friends on the hotel premises, even to come spend some time with me on the beach. There was a sense of snobbishness in this regards. I spent alot of money to stay here (compared to alternative places in hikkaduwa) and a little bit of courtesy with regards to a few friends spending some time with me in the common areas would have been appreciated.

Review 31：Our group of 6 had 4 people on all inclusive and 2 room and breakfast only. I emailed the hotel prior to departure and asked if the 2 could also be all inclusive. I received an email saying they could also have this deal if they pay $45 U.S. At the hotel. This full offer was not accepted by the hotel reception only $38 for all meals. this caused confusion for the staff and daily accusations of our group trying to 'rip off' the hotel. After 3 days I emailed Cinnamon head office and explained our problem and the full offer was given immediately
Review 32：Great location, hotel clean and most staff very friendly. Turtles arrived every day to be fed. Buffet was amazing - I have never seen such a fantastic array of foods on offer.
Review 33：My room was smelly and humid. Very importantly, on the North beach, there is a very dangerous place to swim, because of underwater current, which is not properly marked. Last week I saw myself 3 times rescue ppl and March one man drowned. So I really don't understand why hotel can not put a sigh board to explain this.

Review 37：The hotel has water leaks even in the restaurant area which needs attention immediately. Also we have to keep the humidity unit on always in the rooms and its noisy. Most disgusting thing we faced was non of the foreigners showered before entering the pool, I think you should have someone to check this and make sure everyone follows the rules you have put up on a board near the pool.

The security guards blow up petards to disperse ravens, it took me a day to understand what was the sound. It really disturbed me. Bathroom towels are very old and tired too The service in the a la carte restaurant was so slow we never received a menu and had to eat outside in a local pizza restaurant.

So the wait is long if you make online reservations as they dont seem to have the copy of the guest voucher with them and have to get the information from the guest to find it in their system.

Review 65：Located quiet center of town. I was booked here after I arrived Hikaduwa so I had time to check location of hotel. I went there little bit earlier than their check-in time, but they escorted me without hesitation. Considering budget I paied, everything was just perfect! If I ever have another chance to go to Hikaduwa again, I would definetly choose this hotel again.
Review 66：Noisy Russians kept my parents awake until day break. They were screaming, playing loud music, jumping in the pool and ignoring security staff. Perhaps the promotion of cheap cocktails and all you can drink events are not a good idea with such people around!

Much busier, and more touristy, than other beach areas in Sri Lanka (eg. Marissa or Trincomalee). We found the 'vibe' more relaxing at the Chayya Blu north of Trincolmalee

We used to stay in Amaya coral resort which was amazing and this year we decided to change and stay somewhere different but it didn't turn out the same! Also we asked to stay for an extra hour after check out as our transport will pick us at 1 p.m. But the reception refused and advised that we have to leave at 12:15 maximum
Review 122：no one greeted us on arrival, no one ushered us to our seats at breakfast, not many friendly faces because staff is overstretched as a whole. In short, no personal touch and guests feel quite lost, especially at the breakfast buffet. Quite a pity, because the location is fabulous.

Review 134：Swimming pool water temperature in Sept is on the high side. Room numbers are on the floor and difficult to locate. Aesthetics in the land side could be improved. Dining room ceiling appearance could be improved.
Review 135：I recommend Chaaya Tranz. Good location very close to the beach. Have a dip in the swimming pool or Indian Ocean. Good food and good service.
Review 136：we were told no matter what do not turn off the air con. Fine during the day but at midnight it was freezing so decided it couldn't be that bad if we turned it off. It was. The condensation was so bad we woke up wet and the floor was like a skating rink. Didn't dare turn it off again so when we woke up freezing we went out and slept on the balcony. They have serious problems for a beautiful hotel.

Review 138：The water outlet of the toilets should be taken care as it destroys the rooms after bathing in toilets. I stayed at Room no-238. The toilets are well equipped with modern facilities but the slope of the toilets should be reflooring for drain out the waste water.
