Reviews for Hotel Cafe Restaurant Duinzicht
Review 1:Perhaps a bid outdated, but that' part of the deal and experience at a dutch islan liek Schiermonnikoog, so bascially not bad at all.
Review 2:Great breakfast and personal treatment by the staff! The know you and great you with your name and they know your roomnumber, excellent personal attention from the staff, awesome! Room was clean and spacious! GREAT place to stay the weekend!
Review 3:Expensive.
Review 4:The manager was very helpful and added mattress toppers to the firm mattresses. Very relaxed atmosphere. Seriously like going back to the 1970's!
Review 5:This may sound odd, but the servings in the restaurant were too big. Maybe people need hearty servings after a day walking and riding, but I am concerned about wasting food in a world where too many go hungry.
Review 6:I expected a bit of a cramped room and was immediately delighted with the space, and the balcony. The bed was comfortable, although I could have done with a choice in pillow. The breakfast was well done; I always give points for breakfasts where vegetables are served. The location was very good, very central.
Review 7:the food was not that tasty or fresh not being told in advance that the sauna was not working
Review 8:the room with balcony; the times for breakfast the t.v. the mattress breakfast choice flexibility and willingness to help bathroom it was clean
Review 9:the bathroom was very little
Review 10:Well located, good breakfast, strange building
Review 11:Matrasses were ok, but warm (too warm for my personal liking)
Review 12:A lot of space in the room Breakfast times till 11:00 Very friendly staff
Review 13:nothing to complain.
Review 14:Good location, good service, very nice room, good price.
Review 15:Plumbing issues, first the sink and then the shower.
Review 16:The location and history of the facility.
Review 17:absolutely nothing!
Review 18:The accomodations were lovely...beds were comfy, shower was amazing!! the restaurant downstairs had a excellent 3 course special that i devoured and the staff were lovely, would definetly stay again when visiting schiermonnikoog :)
Review 19:The 1-bedroom apartment was quite small for a family of 4. There are huge chairs in the middle of the room which makes it very difficult to move about. The toilet/shower are old and need refurbishing. Overall, the price/value relationship is not good - too expensive for what you get. There are no staff dedicated to the hotel - everyone works for the restaurant. So you get very limited attention.
Review 20:The hotel is well situated in the village and it is very quiet.
Review 21:The place is wonderful, the breakfast is good, the hotel is beautiful and relaxing and the staff is great! I´m particularly grateful because a) I had booked an one person room and at the very last moment arrived with a friend and they did their very best to accommodate us and 2) I forgot my charger and they quickly sent it to me without asking for the posting fee.
Review 22:The overwhelming coastal nature of Schiemonnikoog is a place-must-be for the spoiled big-city citizen. Duinzicht is one of the oldest resort. I am most impressive that they could ask police to get me lost documents just befor the ferry boat returned! Many thanks.
Review 23:Toiletbediening defect.
Review 25:We didn't have dinner there, but for lunch, the food was terrible. Ilive in the Netherlands, and it was typical Dutch lunch food, which isbad to begin with, and even for that, it was below average. They seem tomake a big deal out of dinner, which might be better, but the lunch madeus not want to find out. The continental breakfast was also belowaverage (not even fresh orange juice), except for the fresh local yogurtwhich is spectacular. Also, terrible soap in the bathroom, no tissues, and horrible pillows, the bathroom flooded one night when it rained toohard. Dutch people tend to want to pay the lowest possible price anddon't expect much in return, this place exemplified that, although at145 Euros per night for our room, it wasn't even such a bargain.
Review 26:The location was fantastic, perfect, not too far from the beach andwalking distance to the 'main drag' in town. Our rooms were at the back, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful surroundings. The rooms were clean andperfectly adequate.
Review 27:The price was high, but I was willing to pay it.
Review 28:Our room was right next to the old water tower, which I wanted to photograph. So it was excellent for that reason. The staff were helpful, curtious and fun to work with. Your location is close to the town, but on the beach and lighthouse side of town, so it was a shorter walk to see the lighthouse and beach. The bus stop id right in front of the hotel which made carrying our baggage very easy. Your facility is large enough to take a good sized crowd. Thank you I am a member of the United States Lighthouse Society and will mention you to them if they ever plan a group trip to Schiermonikoog.
Review 29:it would be unfair to say I dsliked anything.
Review 30:The hotel was very clean and the room a good size, complete with a sauna. The hotel had an old fashioned individuality about it that modern day chain hotels so clearly lack and will never have and for that reason alone I would stay there again. Breakfasts were good and though I was only there a little under two days I did eat it at lunchtime and found the food to be of good quality. The island caters mainly for Dutch tourism but there is an inate friendliness towards the British which was very nice. The Duinzicht was recommended by a local resident so I was pretty sure it would be fine and I was not disappointed.
Review 31:Too many dogs
Review 32:Hospitality, great atmosphere

Review 37:Cozy dining room with fireplace, friendly staff, excellent location at the edge of the village, and close to the beach.
Review 38:The matras on the bed
Review 39:The very friendly staff
Review 40:The proximity to the centre of Schiermonnikoog.
