Reviews for Qelqatani Hotel

Review 1:The staff. We asked if we (a family with a child) could stay at the hotel for several more hours since we had our buss to Cuzco at 10pm. They wanted to charge us with 60 usd for staying at the hotel to 9pm. The price for one night was 39 usd!

Review 2:The breakfast

Review 3:nothing to mention

Review 4:excellent staff always ready to help excellent food breakfast gave breakfast even at 5am to us as we were leaving morning flight

Review 5:Wonderful staff, great location, nice room, good breakfast included and awesome view from the roof. ☺ Loved all the wooden trim throughout. The elevator is a nice touch.

Review 6:Very good value for money. Liked everything about this hotel. Breakfast is excellent and there is the restaurant where you can dinner. Rooms are spacious.

Review 7:Hot water, excellent bathroom, free bottled water, excellent and delicious breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging transportation, helping with baggage, etc.

Review 8:There was construction on the top floor which created quite a bit of noise that stretched to around 7pm! Like most hotels in Peru the walls a thin so you can hear everything around.

Review 9:The hotel is located near the pedestrian streets that offer plenty of restaurants to choose from. The room was spacious and also had a good sized bathroom with tub/shower. The staff was also very helpful for location info.

Review 10:The restaurant had a very hard time taking my room service order, and delivered the wrong food. Laundry was expensive compared to other hotels that we stayed in. Normally I wouldn't even use these services, but we needed them due to illness and I wish the hotel had done a little better

Review 11:Good location with a really nice shopping/entertainment area directly behind the hotel. The suite our first night was a fantastic room; great bed, spacious, great bathroom, nice sitting area. We had to stay an extra day due to food poisoning from our previous town and just paid for one of the regular rooms. The standard room was alright, but it's well worth paying a little more for the suite if you can. Good breakfast, really neat bar area.

Review 12:The hotel is a little outdated in the decor and the wifi works mostly just at the front desk.

Review 13:Great delicious breakfast buffet, everyone at the hotel was very nice and helpful, even confirmed our tours and suttles. They stored our bags for a couple of days at no additional cost.

Review 14:The last night there was a nightclub nearby going until 3 in morning. Take ear plugs or go and join them

Review 15:Friendly staff, short walking distance to shops & restaurants

Review 16:however the location might be a challange. Do not expect from the hotel area simply a thing! But this is not about the hotel it is about Puno.

Review 17:The hotel is a very good value for money. Very good island of comfort in the sea of total mess which is Puno.

Review 18:Terrible services from the staffs. Very slow check in and full of errors. I booked through them a colca canyon tour. When I arrived there were confusions and they didn't book it. Anyway they started it but mixed me with another traveler. they also always emphasized on that you need to pay (come on). The hallways' lights are not turned on when it is dark so you have to find the switch. Wifi does not work in the room at all. The water for shower is lukewarm and only after 20 minutes into shower it becomes comfortable. Never ventured to try the hot tub. For a hotel so proud of its "excellency" of service, i find it is exaggerated. For the price you paid, not worth it.

Review 19:There are some details that show that the management is trying: such as providing umbrella when it is raining.

Review 20:Good hotel with good rooms (size escpecially), excellent location (very close to center, but in a quite street) and fairly good breakfast, the staff is very nice.

Review 21:There was no hot water, the staff does not seen to be worried with that, the lights on the room were no good.

Review 22:It was confortable, the breakfast was good, there is elevator, the cleaness is good, the price is good, they had change for dolars.

Review 23:No negatives

Review 24:The hotel exceeded our expectations. Breakfast buffet was great as was the dinner menu. Close to the Plaza and an easy walk to the port although further than the five minutes advertised.

Review 25:Wifi only works in the lobby

Review 26:Decent room, no major frills, hotel is a little dated and the dark colour scheme and dim lighting throughout make it look worse than it is. Breakfast was decent with eggs made to order

Review 27:nothing

Review 28:simple, inexpensive but clean accommodation. We had a triple room for a one night stop over from La Paz to Cusco and the Hotel served the purpose. It was conveniently located and the rooms were clean, showers hot, and WIFI was available sometimes in the room but always in the lobby. The room had a heater in. Basic, but that's what we expected.

Review 29:The staff was very helpful. They confirmed reservations for us, made breakfast early for our pick up to the lake. They kept our belongings secure while we visited the islands overnight. They had complementary bottled water and colca candy. Good bathrooms. The street was very quiet at night even though it was just 2 blocks from the plaza de armas.

Review 30:Staff didnt blink an eye when I asked them to call and confirm my tour arrangements, needed lage bills broken, and make an early breakfast for me and my daughter.

Review 31:Would be good to have wifi on the floors above the lobby floor

Review 60:Close proximity to main shopping street

Review 61:Extremely slow internet, Shenzhen available.

Review 62:Located close to main square with lots of restaurants, ATM etc. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Value for money.

Review 64:Nothing

Review 78:Cleanliness

Review 79:Staff, Location

Review 80:Great staff, excellent breakfast and great location.

Review 81:Great staff who helped us book a tour, great breakfast buffet, great value for the money, more luxurious than other places we had paid more for.

Review 82:A little hard to find and parking is extremely limited.

Review 83:Located a block away from the pedestrian street called Lima Street.

Review 84:good location (one block from the main street), courteous staff

Review 85:Some of the room is lack of wifi signal especially the one in the corner

Review 86:Close to the main shopping street, five minutes walking Street. The hotel staff is very initiative and very considerate. Well, it was my birthday during my stay and they took effort to find and wrote Happy Birthday in my language.

Review 87:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, free 500ml water and Coaca candies. Excellent breakfast with purple corn juice!!, room with heater, WIFI signal and speed just ok. They store our luggage for 3days for free before we actually staying there, as we travel and stay in Titikaka lake islands before Puno.

Review 88:Nothing, really.

Review 89:The room is very spacious, and the bathroom as well. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff is really nice. This is a real 3 stars hotel (European standards) which is not the case for all the places we stayed in Peru. Very good location too. If you book in advance on-line, it is excellent value for the money.

Review 90:Nothing!

Review 91:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, excellent room heater, lots of hot water, spacious room and an excellent WIFI. The staff made a reservation at a close by dinner show which is also recommended.

Review 92:The hotel was excellent, but it was too close to a disco and the music (noise) from the club disturbed my sleep. The music began around 9PM and didn't send until 4 AM. Additionally, the taxis and their ever blowing horns made matters worse. Shame that the city cannot regulate the noise and keep it indoors.

Review 93:Although it is not very old, it had the ambiance and architecture of an old world hotel. They served an excellent breakfast with enough variety to please most appetites - egg to your order. It was a short and fun walk to the center of town which eliminated the need to hail a cab. Free internet and WiFi. We had dinner at the hotel and it was delightful.

Review 94:Wifi is a joke. Do not advertise in-room wifi if you don't have it!At night the reception desk resembles a refugee camp of all gueststrying to get Internet. I am not complaining about the speed of theconnection, which is terrible but within average for the city, I amtalking about the availability of routers within the hotel. All it wouldtake is a few more routers which cost $30 each. No excuse for providingdeceptive advertising.

Review 95:Location is decent, breakfast is ok

Review 96:Good breakfasts, very friendly and helpful staff - they let us keep our rented car in their garaje for four days when we went to Bolivia. Great location.

Review 97:The first night we had a room overlooking the street and we had a very disturbed night due to car horns. The second night in to a room in central hotel and we kept awake by a disco beat most of the night. Ask for a room at the back, and see if that's any better.

Review 98:The staff were incredibly helpful and location is very convenient for town. Very reasonable laundry service too.

Review 99:Very noisy in the night in the rooms facing the street. The taxi`s are honking like crazy even though there is a sign it is vorbidden. Ear plugs might help a bit.

Review 100:Great staff Central location Rich breakfast Warm rooms with hot water Big and comfy bed

Review 101:rooms facing street are loud at night because taxis at the taxi stand horn constantly all night. rooms with a window to hallway do not have fresh air supply

Review 102:fast internet in lobby helpful staff made it easy to change room

Review 103:Very friendly staff Excellent location 5 minutes from the main square We organised our trips through the hotel which were very good This hotel is real value for money We would highly recommend

Review 104:Really excellent place to stay at when passing through Puno. Right in the centre with helpful and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast buffet. Rooms in excellent condition and well equipped.

Review 105:Wifi did not work in room. Was quite labourous even at reception. Ourfirst night was a saturday night and whilst the location is very centralbut on a not too busy side street there was car horn tooting all night.Sleep was severly hampered before an early pickup the next day which wasnot fun. This was not the hotel's fault as there are signs upprohibiting 'tocar la bocina' in the streets but be warned.Breakfast was poor and slow.

Review 106:Location is good for the centre of Puno. Although its not a big place. They stored our luggage whilst on overnight trip to Lake Titicaca.

Review 107:Good location in proximity to tourist friendly restaurants and the main plaza. The hotel restaurant offerings were very good and we loved the breakfast buffet including eggs made to order. Great value through booking.com.

Review 108:they overcharge the taxi service wifi does not work in the rooms in some parts of the floors

Review 109:located right in the centre of Puno. the streets around the hotel do not look nice but are ok. Hotel is quiet despite some discos not far. Good breakfast.

Review 110:Limited breakfast; every day less to choose from. Not always warm water in the shower.

Review 111:Well located. Comfortable, cosy rooms. Welcome coca candy and every day 2 bottles of mineral water in the room, curtosy of the hotel.

Review 112:Street was a little noisy at times. Shower wasn't always hot

Review 113:Close to the city, comfortable, staff were helpful and breakfast was oneof the nicest we had in peru.

Review 114:The stairwell noise could be pretty loud in the room I had.

Review 115:I was a bit sick when I arrived and this was a good place to rest and the breakfast kept me alive. The staff was very helpful.

Review 116:Slightly dark and outdated decoration.

Review 117:Just at the center of touristic area of Puno. You don't want to be further out this area in such a city. Excellent staff. Clean rooms. Good food at the restaurant

Review 118:# No good view from room. # Long time to get hot water

Review 119:# Location is good for shopping and sightseeing in the city. # All staffs were pleasant and friendly.

Review 120:At 3.00 am the locals seem to have a game of car horn blowing which continues for more than an hour. With a street facing room this can be very annoying.

Review 121:Located very close to centre of Puno and its main square. The staff were very smart, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was probably the best we had in the whole of our trip.

Review 122:No hair dryer in the room. Internet access patchy on 4th floor.Excursionand bus tickets booked through hotel considerably higher than directly.Boat trip to the islands was on slow boat with bad diesel fumes whichmade us sick.

Review 123:Upgraded to the suite, super king bed and spa bath. Two bottles ofcomplimentary water and coca lollies. Not far from the main street soeasy access to restaurants.

Review 124:Some noise at night, and the behaviour of certain guests. But the latter is not the hotel's fault.

Review 125:The friendliness of the staff, the excellent location, the good breakfast. We appreciated very much the fact that heating equipment was provided in the room.
