Reviews for Buccaneer Lodge

Review 1:The rooms are not very sound proof, and someone next door to us talked very late into the night. Fortunately we were very tired, so dropped off to sleep eventually. Also, maybe some milk in the room would be handy so we could have a hot drink. There was probably milk in the kitchen, however, we didn't go down to look.

Review 2:Cleanliness & good price.

Review 3:Having to carry our bags upstairs.

Review 4:Very comfy bed. Pleasant view.Quiet. Fresh bed in the morning. Enjoyed the communal kitchen. Good parking. Very clean and plenty of room.

Review 5:Very friendly and helpful owner, nice view. Stayed there a night before taking the ferry, perfect for that purpose, 5 minute ride by car to ferry terminal.

Review 6:The shared kitchen is very very good with all kinds of kitchenwares. It was a surprise that the landlord provided guests fresh home made bread everyday.

Review 7:Very well presented. It was great being able to use all the facilities and not be confined to a unit. Welcoming touch with the home- made bread on offer.

Review 8:VERY basic accommodation for price paid. No bar fridge in room, lack of bedside tables & lamps, only outdoor furniture in the room so no comfortable seating in room, no rubbish bin in room (only small one in bathroom). If you object to the smell of smoke don't stay here - ashtrays on balcony outside rooms & even keeping windows sealed we could still smell smoke in room. All accomodation upstairs. No toiletries provided.

Review 9:Very clean throughout including very adequate crockery cutlery & cooking utensils in communal kitchen, lovely view over marina from balcony, comfortable beds. Staff welcoming. Fresh baked bread daily provided for guests. Generous seating in communal kitchen & outdoor area. BBQ provided for guests.

Review 10:Chalets in a row with shared balcony so if you have noisy neighbours could be a problem but this is the same anywhere no reflection on the property.

Review 11:Owner very friendly and helpful. He provided home baked bread for free and lemons and grapefruit plus milk, butter, jam tea and coffee. Well equipped communual kitchen.

Review 12:Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Big,clean room, beautiful scenery. Owners drove us back to the ferry in the morning. It is 4km from town, seemed like a quiet neighborhood. Has a common kitchen and dining room.I would stay there again.

Review 13:The view from the room, the farmlike feel:) and the communal kitchen,( with stuff supplied!!) made for a great stay. If there is a next time in NZ, we'll definitely stay longer and get a better feel for the area.

Review 14:The Co owner, Phil is one of the nicest 'mine host' we have met on this trip of 5 weeks. Would recommend this place to anyone who is on a tight budget but wants an A 1 experience. Thanks Phil

Review 15:The location was pretty far and nit near much and the bathroom was weird, my toilet was broken and the shower didn't even get warm water.

Review 46:Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. They had home made bread for us in the morning, and one of their hens had laid eggs, so we had some of those too! We were able to ride bikes into town, and our host gave us some extra internet time when we needed it. Our room was quite spacious. It overlooked a little field with sheep and chickens.
