Review 1：Difficult to find at the end of a long, narrow, twisting road down from main town above. Restaurant was closed (we stayed in October) which meant a 3-4 KM drive back up into town for dinner.

Review 2：A real fun place to stay, right on a genuinely sandy beach. Good breakfast on a shaded waterfront terrace. Fell asleep to the sound of the crashing waves outside our waterfront room. Has a play area for kids, which suggests hotel focuses on families in peak Summer season. Very scenic locale.

Review 3：Bed was uncomfortable, bar food Pennines were all bread and the main staircase to the beach was closed so everyone was going past our room and deck (only room with a deck) so we were uncomfortable being stared at by everyone when we used the deck.

Review 6：Location is great! Right on the beach, clear blue water, snorkeling, and rocks to jump from. You'll need a car though, as it does not seem to be near public transportation. The staff had left early due to emergency, but emailed us and left a key out for access when we arrived late. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. What a cute diamond in the rough.

Review 7：The beds are very hard, very unpleasant. Especially in the afternoon unfriendly service. The restaurant food is overpriced, it is very basic tourist stuff. The welcome drinks we were offered were never served.

Review 13：It was disappointing not to able to walk into Tropea - the beach is cut off by cliffs dropping right into the sea even at low tide, and there is no cliff top walk. It's less than 5 minutes to drive in, a straightforward drive and easy parking.

Review 14：Simple but comfortable hotel right on a sheltered and pretty beach - very quiet in May half term week. Tropea is only 2kms away, and an unusual medieval town perched on the cliff tops, with a wide range of excellent seafood restaurants. The hotel restaurant is also very good, and beautifully positioned for sunset overlooking Stromboli in the distance

Review 16：The location is amazing, right on the beach with private beach access. Views to Mt Etna. Breakfast is fantastic, eggs, bacon, sausages, juice, coffee, homemade muffins, croissants, cereal, fresh fruit...everything! and all on the veranda right next to the beach with an amazing view. Rooms are rustic but cannot recommend highly enough.

Review 25：We lived on the second floor and the wifi worked only on the first near the bar. In October there are no facilities nearby Only in Tropea which is rather far away about 30 min to the center by foot.

Review 26：We've stayed here for five nights in October. The hotel is the best place if you want to rest by the sea. Quite and peaceful. The beach is fantastic and it's just down the stairs. In this part of Italy it's really hard to find the hotel better located to the sea than Oldwell. I would like to thank the hosts, they were really friendly and helpful, arranged a transfer to Lamezia Terme airport, drove us to Tropea once and made our staying very comfortable. The breakfast is good and various.

Club Card - 35 Euro/week/person. I don't know what is this! Generally I paid 170 Euro for 2 days for 4 person instead of 106 Euro like in reservation. 1 beer = 5 Euro in bar.

Review 77：The rooms were very old and tired looking. There were not enough blankets on the bed. We were bitten by mosquitoes all night and there was inadequate screens on the doors and windows. It would be good to supply mosquito coils or spray. There was a very bad smell in the bathroom. The room was very dark and not all the lights were working. It was not a nice room to stay in we felt compelled to go outside. In fairness, it felt like we arrived just as all the pre summer maintenance work was being done. It was in May so beofee summer when I can imagine it would be very busy. The place would feel very different with more people around. We did not have a TV, we only had the remote control. The rooms were not soundproofed.

Once the water heated the shower was excellent. The meals were very good. Especially the calamari. The family seemed helpful yet a little distracted by maintenance.

Review 81：The compulsory club card. We spent there 2 nights and should have to pay 33 EUR/Person. I asked what did it cover: the sun beds and the umbrella although we didn't use them at all. At the end we agreed in a lower sum.
