Reviews for Hotel Sporting
Review 1:The walls are not sound proof, at all! Hard to sleep if you need it quiet and you can hear everything your neighbors do in their bathroom (gross)
Review 2:The hotel has an absolutely stunning location! We had a sea view room that had a gorgeous view of the gulf and Mt. Vesuvius in the distance. There is an elevator that takes you down to the hotel's private beach where you can order snacks and drinks. The staff was very friendly and recommended a good restaurant for us. Walking distance to the train station (about a mile away) and 5 quick stops to Sorrento on the Circumvesuviana train line. Free shuttle to the train station if you don't want to walk. Order the Pizza Vesuviano if you eat in the hotel restaurant! Breakfast was quite elaborate and very good
Review 3:Lack of facilities - "private beach" was not private, sunbeds had to be hired daily, no towels; no parking on site. Breakfast staff unhelpful, not too welcoming (possibly due to limited English)
Review 4:Very clean and well presented; management staff very helpful
Review 5:The beds could be more comfortable but thats a bit personal choise.
Review 6:The location of the hotel is great! In a very nice town that is so close to Sorrento. You can either reach by car to Sorrento or by train. the station is just within a few minutes walk from the hotel. There is a parking place and you pay like 12,00 Eur / day. If you stay in the terrace rooms, you can enjoy the beautiful scene of the area. You can sleep with the sound of the sea. I definitelly suggest you to stay in this hotel. You are both close to the famous areas and also have the advantage of the silence of the Vico Equense town.
Review 7:Room and bathroom has not any shelves, so it was difficult to store our clothes and things. Thin walls, you hear everything from the next door.Poor breakfast. The hotel has no parking places at all. The parking is 20 EUR/day at least at street garage. The beach is not private, anybody can enter the hotel's beach for 5 EUR fee, so you must watch your things and values. The guests have to pay to umbrella and sunbed, so it will cost 20 EUR/day/2 person. The room's wifi did not work at morning and evening, the lobby's wifi often disconnected.
Review 8:Location, view, beach.
Review 9:Worst breakfasts, unpolite staff, no wifi, no parking, everything makes you feel unsafe, nobody speaks english, no roomservice, and much more
Review 10:maybe the view
Review 11:the staff wasn't overly friendly. the shower and bathroom had some mold issues. you have to pay to rent chairs, umbrellas and towels on the beach and they are very expensive.
Review 12:the beach was nice. rooms were spacious. the view was amazing.
Review 13:The breakfast was typical continental style which is fine. However, the evening meals were not particularly good, and there was no explanation of the difference between the 2 restaurants and menus. There could have been a 'welcome brochure' in the room, giving more information about the hotel and the facilities in the town.
Review 14:The location is superb - best view in Italy!!! The hotel is clean and well presented, the staff are helpful, though one or two had limited English ( but then how good is my Italian?). The Hotel is within 5 minutes walk of the town centre and 10 minutes from the station. Access to the beach is via a private lift, though the beach is not exclusive to the Hotel. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance. Reception is open 24 hours, which is very good. Will want to go back again and again.
Review 15:The wi-fi was a little iffy.
Review 16:Spectacular views of the bay and sunsets! A very classy and yet relaxed hotel in an amazing location. The private beach (with its own pizzeria) is real luxury. Traveling with a kid this was the perfect solution for us.
Review 17:Breakfast good enough but quite low on variety.
Review 18:Perfect location close to Sorrento and Pompeii etc, easy walk to Circumvesuviana train station. Very helpful and friendly staff. They booked a taxi for 4 of us back to airport for 60 euro but when cab arrived he said it would be 90 euro. Staff sorted this out amiably and efficiently and we travelled for the agreed price. Will definitely come again, we loved it!
Review 19:Lack of hot water ,quality of the towels.Lack of information provided by the staff,Not a relaxed atmosphere
Review 20:The view is spectacular.Close to the town and local restruants
Review 21:This hotel is in the most beautiful location! It's situated on the edge of a cliff with spectacular ocean views! The town of Vico Equense is tiny so the train station is a short 5 minute walk from the hotel which makes it a great launching pad for exploring other nearby cities. The staff was extremely helpful and accessible and I found the hotel to be one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The tile work gave it a mediterranean-like feel and the rooms were spacious and comfortable! I highly recommend staying here!
Review 22:- Wondeful location of the hotel. - Very friendly staff that could speak English (sic!). - Easy to reach with railroad (ca. 15 min walk from the station) and good connection with local trains to Pompei (20 min), Sorrent (15 min), Neapel (55 min.)
Review 23:You can heard all sounds from the other rooms I was waking up by the snoring from the room beside..... The room and breakfast is just 3star standard.
Review 24:It's located a amazing place with great view of the ocean from the balcony. easier to go to the train station and abus direct to Naples aorport somewhere nearby. Very reasonable price compared to those hotels in Amalfi or Sorrento. I went to Amalfi then disappointed since the view around this hotel is no worse than in Amalfi with less tourists and more peaceful. They also has a elevator directly to the beach. Strongly recommend to book day tour by boat to Capri, definitely worth 80euro price.
Review 25:1) Price to quality ratio is ridiculous 2)Breakfast (they offer only sweet breakfast) with exception of boiled eggs. 3) reception staff could not speak any languages besides Italian 4) definitely not 4 stars!!!
Review 26:The view is amazing!!! Restaurant has stunning view.
Review 27:The WiFi connection from the room was non-existent. We were not able to connect to the internet even one time. The walls appear to be very thin as conversations could be heard between rooms.
Review 28:The location of the hotel is superb. You couldn't get a much better view of the bay of Naples and Visuvius. The room we stayed in on the 1st floor was clean and well appointed, very comfortable.
Review 29:Lovely place, wonderful view, a loto nice and intresting place to see.You can start day with tasty breakfast and friendly staf.Hotel Sporting is best place to have good holidays or just relax. We were very happy to be here and to see it. Grazie and arrivederci.
Review 30:It would be useful to have signs to the bar and to show how to re-enter the hotel once been there or been to the private beech.
Review 31:Excellent staff and a good variety for breakfast, including eggs and fresh fruit.
Review 32:No shower, only a bath with no shower screen or curtain, it's a personal opinion but I don't like trying to have a shower sitting down.
Review 33:We were offered an upgrade on our room with a sea view to one with a balcony and sea view, that was a great start to a pleasant stay for us. The room was a basic seaside room with tiled floor and two singles making up the bed. The views on to the bay of Naples were spectacular, you can see the volcano and all the way around to Naples. Very very cool, highly recommended.
Review 34:Very poor restaurant. Unattentive Staff, poor quality food, I.e. Tinned fruit for breakfast, no fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet. with all the good fresh fruit available in Italy ! Why not fresh? Bath towels were like sandpaper, One measly sachet of shower gel Per person per day, so not enough for morning and evening showers in the hot weather. No,I repeat no hot water during our four day stay. WI-FI came out of the ARK. Very poor only working sometimes.
Review 35:Situation, Decor, Reception staff were good and friendly
Review 36:Staff rather impersonal but efficient. Hotel lacked character.
Review 37:Location, views, quiet, unfussy, don't need a car, large room and bathroom, attractive tiling, lift to beach.
Review 38:There was a lack of information in the room about the hotel itself and the area - we didn't discover that there was an additional pizza restaurant on the beach at night until the last couple of days.
Review 39:The location of this hotel cannot be faulted both for the view, access to the beach and closeness to the town centre. The hotel was extremely clean and the housekeeping staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for us (two adults and a child) although it felt a bit basic. Though the bathroom was large and well equipped. The terrace bar was beautifully situated and the waiting staff very good. We spent a lot of time on the beach so the free and easy access was very welcome. We loved the cafe/bar on the beach where we could sit and watch our son swim while enjoying a coffee. The general location was excellent in terms of going out to eat in the evening and access to the Circumvensuviana for local travel. We look forward to going back.
Review 40:Modern,clean,location(outstanding view)very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfasts and dinners very good.
Review 41:Signage poor, was not easy to find at first. Internet access only available in the lobby
Review 42:Private beach is not private open to locals charges for beds umbrella etc... Even if your staying at hotel. Beach gets packed with none residence One lift for at least 200+ people lift capacity only 7 people at one time not adequate had to wait 45 mins to get back up to hotel Transfer by taxi from Sorrento port €60 Hotel did not say we could get a train 5 mins from port & takes only 10mins to Vico Equense then 5 min walk to hotel. Even though I emailed prior to ask no reply and I then rang from port to hotel and they said they didn't know or understand!!! Steps to public beach down by harbour are for super fit persons!!!! Although most of this area like Amalfi etc.. are the same steps steps steps!!!
Review 43:Good for local amenities
Review 44:Staff were some what reluctant to serve, we seemed to almost have to beg for a coffee on the day we left early and we only left at 7.00am--a breakfast should have been put to one side for us. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We had told them I am coeliac but after much asking at breakfast a packet of biscuits arrived!
Review 45:Location is absolutely amazing! Lift down to the beach was great but we felt the sun beds should have been free to hotel guests not an additional charge.
Review 46:The front desk night audited Luciano.
Review 47:unable to access hotel beach, due to being autum
Review 48:amazing room views and service, good location to visit all surounding areas.good breakfast
Review 49:Great views. Private beach was great, and walking distance to train station and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 50:location restaurant
Review 51:The room with excellent view, private beach
Review 52:wi-fi connection unstable
Review 53:great location
Review 54:Rooms are very basic. So is breakfast. No parking.
Review 55:Great location and very friendly staff. Rooms are big.
Review 56:Some concierge very indifferent and unhelpful
Review 57:Fabulous view! We upgraded at no extra just because room was available ! ! Very kind.
Review 58:Everything
Review 59:7.5 Euro charge for each sunbed per day- too expensive.
Review 60:Beautiful setting, nice beach facility, clean accommodation, 5 minute walk from train station.
Review 61:Didn't like that you have to pay for sun beds & umbrellas on beach
Review 62:Friendly staff. Lovely food
Review 63:music during meals
Review 64:Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 65:A gorgeous hotel with private access to the beach, friendly staff and a room that was befitting of an Italian coastal escape.
Review 66:no parking
Review 67:Great location very romantic, the view from the hotel is so beautiful specially if you take the room with Balcony
Review 68:Room cleanliness, ants in the room problem was not resolved in a timely manner, no compensation offered for inconvenience.
Review 69:Location and Ora.
Review 70:Beautiful location! Wonderful meals! This is a hidden gem on the Amalfi coast.
Review 71:The views, location, efficient service
Review 72:Some noisy late night guests.
Review 73:Location on cliff edge. Beach with a lift. Good Restaurants
Review 74:TV can be bigger, no hot dishes in breakfast
Review 75:Amazing views, quite at night, clean rooms, near train station
Review 76:Beach was not opened even though advertised. Charged for parking. Beds very uncomfortable. Bathroom dirty no extra pillows
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:Pillows might as well have been bricks. They were old and lumpy rocks. Poor excuse for a hotel at this price point.
Review 79:Great View & Nice beach area
Review 80:Location and balcony Staf were friendly and room was good with a blackout screen which was great for sleep
Review 81:Breakfast was very bland.
Review 82:Liked that we were directly above the beach. Great view from our room.
Review 83:breakfast - to poor, the beach was opened from 9 am to 7 pm. It is to less.
Review 84:localization
Review 85:No parking. €12 per day at a parking garage two blocks away.
Review 86:The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was decent. The helpful & friendly staff - Pepe, Lello & Silvio. Internet was OK. There was a Ferry to Sorrento at the Marina nearby.
Review 87:Recommended parking station tried to rip us off, parked on street no problems and heaps cheaper.
Review 88:This is not quite a 4 star hotel however the view is 7 star and compensates for everything, also extremely clean. Thank you We travelled by car/bus/boat from Vico to Amalfi and we don't think there is another hotel that can surpass the position an views. We did send an email to the hotel asking for a room with a nice view as all other hotels booked through booking.com we had been allocated the worst positions.
Review 89:The restaurant had limited hours and there wasn't a bar in the hotel. The wi-fi wasn't working for the last three days of our stay.
Review 90:We were upgraded to a larger room with a beautiful balcony because we were staying for seven nights. The views of the coast and Mt.Vesuvius were amazing with beautiful sunsets everyday. The housekeeping staff were excellent and everything was very clean. The breakfast is a continental breakfast but there is a large variety of items and all you need. We went on an excursion recommended by reception of Capri Island and it was one of the best things we did during our stay. The town of Vico Equense is not as small as I thought, with a good variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. It is just a ten minute train ride to Sorrento, but we only went there once because we preferred Vico Equense.
Review 91:Loud noisy guests, no carpet so all noise travels through whole building. Private beach??? This is the reason why we chose the hotel. The beach is reached by means of an elevator in the hotel. But beware, the word private does not mean that the beach is for hotel guests only, no, the whole village uses this beach - for a fee of course! Also many come from adjacent overcrowded beaches by hopping the cliffs either side. Anyway, by about 4pm you have a 45min wait to get back to the hotel because of beach overcrowding. Awful! Awful! Avoid at all costs. the restaurant is lit up like an airport - very uncomfortable. Breakfast is a joke - you have to run after the waiter just to get a coffee - he will ignore you otherwise. There are only 2 waiters - both over worked and bad tempered. Parking is at a remote location and costs 8.50 EUR per day! Beware. Beach is not entirely free fro hotel guests, you have to pay for beach recliners and extra for shades!!! Save your money and go elsewhere! Would not surprise me to find the hotel at the bottom of the cliff some day! Very precarious position! That's it - I'm done.
Review 92:The View! Absolutely wonderful!
Review 93:We stayed on the top floor, and our floor to ceiling window/door overlooking the cliff and sea was stunning but could have had a more safety-conscious, taller and more protective railing, but otherwise, we loved staying here.
Review 94:Beautiful hotel located at top of cliff with stunning view of Mediterranean Sea and Mt. Vesuvius! Staff were gracious and helpful, and breakfast was a delicious variety of wonderful foods. Located within shopping, dining and bar area. Driving the Amalfi Coast was spectacular and unforgettable!
Review 95:Amazing view of the bay of Naples, and a private beach (spiaggia) under the hotel built into a cliff. Quite a luxury to go to the beach with a lift...!
Review 96:Very old and needs updated. Room was very plan. I would not recommend. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Breakfast was OK but staff was old and not put together.;
Review 97:The nice beach area
Review 98:In August the beach is overcrowded Not much to do in town in the evenings, and not so easy to get around if you don't have car
Review 99:Fantastic view Great beach and sea Lift to the beach In general, a nice hotel
Review 100:Breakfast a little limited but adequate. Beach is crowded at weekends but beach staff reserved sun bed and shade. Beach cafe is good but difficult to get a table at the weekends (while the adjacent restaurant area is nearly empty!)
Review 101:Hotel has an excellent location and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and train station which we used for a visit to Pompeii. Hotel has beautiful views over the Bay of Naples. Rooms were very comfortable and with magnificent sea views. Staff very friendly. Private beach is excellent and accessed by hotel lift.
Review 102:The location. It has a private beach which is an advantage in Italy but really the best part was the the most fantastic views. We were there to visit Pompeii etc and with a car the location is good for this too
Review 103:We stayed at Sporting for three days took cold showers all three days.Reported it to staff their attitude was we'll fix it. After threedays it wasn,T. The shower cubicle must have been designed for youngchildren. You got in it side ways and once you were in you could noteven raise your arms to wash yourself. Good thing we are notclostrophobic. The worst hotel of my month in Italy.
Review 104:Easy access to beach
Review 105:Actually two issues are annoying: peal at 6:40 every morning in the nearest church and audibility in the hotel in general.
Review 106:The village is fantastic location for see meditation, beach relaxation, getting pleasure out of cuisine. Generally location is quite strategic for various leisure activities. The hotel staff is friendly, beach is very comfortable, it will be a pleasure to come back next time.
Review 107:Pulizia, confort e servizi eccellenti. Camera spaziosa.
Review 108:Lack of parking place
Review 109:Friendly staff,Beautyfull views Very clean, place do not be forgotten. Good place to make the visit by train or bus of :Sorrento,Capri,Positano, Amalfi, Pompei or Vesuvio .
Review 110:Excellent location near to town centre and train station which is only 4 stops from Sorrento a good base to explore the Neapolitan riviera.
Review 111:Beautiful views. Beautiful room. Staff was helpful and friendly :) would stay there again for sure
Review 112:EVERYTHING!! We loved the Hotel, it was immaculate, and Vico Enquense, the town was wonderful!!! We will be back for sure!
Review 113:Beautiful sea view. Excelent rooms and structure, perfect localization.
Review 114:convenient to Naples, nice town, good, restaurents, great view, off site parking ok
Review 115:Gorgeous view from balcony and close to Sorrento

Review 120:locatie si facilitati plaja
Review 121:Fantastic room with great view from the terrace. Central position. Good food.
Review 122:Room and bathroom basic and small, parking extra.
Review 123:The staff, the views, great location to visit other sights.
