Review 2:The 8-bed dorm is very tiny
Review 3:- The owners are really nice people. They even took me to a from a medical centre when I twisted my ankle. - Fresh homemade buns for breakfast. - Cosy atmosphere
Review 4:Ideally situated for rental car drop off /25 min walk from Picton Centre. Very friendly owners and very comfortable lodgings.Quite a quirky facade but definitely in line with position
Review 5:Hottub, free bike rental, free pick-ups, big lounge areas, nice courtyard and garden, well-behaved pets that will stop and say hello! Best hostel I've stayed at on the South Island.

Review 7:to have spent too short time because i had the ferry already scheduled :). the location is little bit far and higher from the ferry terminal compared with other hostels but in 10 minutes walking you are there
Review 8:One of the cleanest and most comfortable hostel where i have been while travelling around the world. Staff is really helpful and they wait for you even if you are really late. breakfast with homemade bread still warm because made at the moment was delicious and included in the price
Review 9:-Queen-sized room very small. It was almost impossible to find a place were one suitcase can be opened -Almost no possibility to put your things on beside a small bedroom table. -Way better price for value in other hostels in NZ -Not properly cleaned
Review 10:-well equipped hostel -free breakfast
Review 11:Mattress somewhat lumpy and soft
Review 12:Delicious fresh scones straight out of the oven in the morning. Room and bathroom beautifully clean with complimentary toiletries. Wonderfully friendly hosts
Review 13:Very comfortable rooms, clean showers and bathrooms, accommodating staff, a sizable area for playing games, good movie selection, and a free spa pool. Plus cats.
Review 14:Great staff! They really made a difference! I was welcomed warmly and also got help with transport to the port. Even though I only stayed one night it was enough to impress. The place has a good warm vibe and the warm morning scones only add to that! The facilities are all in good shape and things work as they are supposed to. I really felt like this hostel is respecting their guests.
Review 15:Grow some herbs in that lovely garden. The bathroom was a bit tight.
Review 16:We used the apartment. It was well stocked, had a lovely view. The hosts were kind and engaged. The hostel facilities were also well above average,
Review 17:Really helpfull. Late check in (midnight). They sent me an email to find out where the keys are and wich room attached a map of the property. Easy to find just in front of bluebridge. One regret i checked in late, I couldn't enjoy the jacuzzi. Comfortable matress and quiet area. Thank you and well done
Review 18:Nothing it was a perfect experience!!
Review 19:Amazing place!!! Everything was clean and the Hostel has a lot of things to offer. We could even store some of our luggage while we did the Abel Tasman walk. We were also allowed to use all the facilities since our Ferry left at 6 pm.
Review 20:The room was awesome. Bed could be a little softer though :) But overall, a great stay.
Review 21:Staff were friendly, Breakfast was a nice touch. It was a great experience meeting other people form other countries. I would recommend this place to friends.
Review 22:Wifi didn't reach to the rooms. Limited food storage space
Review 23:The breakfast scones were awesome! And our rooms felt brand new, with a great view. Didn't use the jacuzzi, but it looked clean and was nice and warm.
Review 24:Staff not that helpfull with activities in the area, but that's what the i-site is for.
Review 25:Great facilities Very clean Comfortable bed and great shower Free breakfest with freshly baked scones!l Free unlimited Wifi but only in common area
Review 26:It ist a nice and quiet place to stay. Gary and Nikki provide free breakfast. Erverthing is i good condition, the Spa is awesome. GOOD GOOD GOOD HOSTEL
Review 27:Everything was well thought out
Review 28:Nice welcome, comfortable room with good bed and decor, cheese scones for breakfast, range of facilities available, nothing omitted.
Review 29:Lovely scones in the morning. Very comfortable apartment with all mod cons. Modern. Very friendly staff and backpackers. Lots of facilities. Free wi-fi. Hot tub.
Review 30:I can't really think of anything I actually did not like. Could have had more hooks to hang things, but this is a comment on almost all places where we stayed.
Review 31:Gary and Niki are great! They drove us to our booking on the mail run so we made it at the last minute. They have lots of amenities like ping pong, exercise equipment, Jacuzzi, bikes, etc.
Review 32:The staff were very warm and welcoming extremely helpful Willing to go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable Even offering transport to the bus stop Excellent thanks
Review 33:Wifi didn't reach the furthest dorm rooms, which I was in.
Review 34:Free breakfast, decent beds, cute pets, quiet location (but then again Picton is always quiet).
Review 35:The noise and light from the docks, that went on through most the night, was quite disturbing to my sleep.
Review 36:Amazing kitchen, large, characterful communal area with many secluded areas if wanted to have own space, many things to amuse ones self with (piano, books, games etc.).
Review 37:I didn't particularly like that you could only use the wifi in common areas and not your room, however I understand why this is the case. I also disliked the fact that it's advertised with a pool table, but it was torn, tattered and no cue tips on the cues. So that was frustrating.
Review 38:I like the home made scones for breakfast, it had a homely touch, the room was comfortable with a big balcony, even if you didn't have your heater on the room was still nice and warm when you got back.
Review 39:Free breakfast included was delicious....fresh hot scones! Free use of the bikes, free wifi and lovely, friendly owners. Would recommend this backpackers to anyone!
Review 40:It was raining the day I was there, so it was great to be able to watch tv, read or wifi in a warm cosy environment. The scones for breakfast were yummy, and the staff were so helpful, and took me to ferry.
Review 41:The owners were very friendly and helpful and picked us up from the ferry terminal even though we hadn't arranged this. There was a free breakfast, and the private room with bathroom was comfortable and clean. They owners also gave us a lift into Picton for trips and when we got our return bus.
Review 42:Very welcoming and friendly owner Clean and cosy rooms Heater and Heatblankets Best warm scones for breakfast Relaxed Hot spa pool!!! Could not ask für more
Review 43:Garry & Nikki couldn't do enough for us. Free pick up at 9.00pm from bus and drop off to boat in morning, plus an upgrade to a larger quieter room because of a large group booking at the same time.
Review 44:Room and shared kitchen a bit cramped
Review 45:Good value for money, nice double room with en suite, pleasant and helpful hosts, located near ferry, boats to Queen Charlotte Track, car hire and town.
Review 46:Great facilities, helpful and friendly staff who even gave my friend and I a lift to the taxi boat in the morning. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Big kitchen and communal room. Great outside space as well with pool table and table tennis.
Review 47:Only negative was some early morning truck noise from the nearby ferry terminal.
Review 48:Very friendly hosts. Even lent us a fishing line and stored baggage after we'd left. We were upgraded to the one bedroom apartment due to a booking error, which is a great unit for a couple needing extra space and/or a kitchen. Would definitely stay again next time passing through Picton.
Review 49:The only downside is just how many people they pack in, between the rooms, dorms and even people camping out on the grass. At dinner and breakfast the kitchen is just too small to handle the amount of people trying to cook and clean at the same time, and one of the mornings there were actually people sleeping in one of the lounges.
Review 50:They have clearly put a lot of thought into this place and it shows. Thick walls keep the private rooms relatively quiet, shelves (with stickers provided) for food, several different lounging areas, washer/dryer/clothesline, pool and ping pong tables, sun loungers with a view, and even a hot tub. The included breakfast has cereal, milk, tea/coffee, bread and fresh scones (if you don’t leave too early). Fast, free, unlimited wifi is a really nice touch. The location overlooking town is pretty decent, and about a 10-minute walk into the main part of town. Parking is a little cramped but sufficient.
Review 51:All good.
Review 52:Welcoming hosts, clean comfortable room, fresh baked cheese scones for breakfast, delicious grapes, pears & figs! Variety of lounges & seating areas, games, books, puzzles, table tennis etc, communal & friendly.
Review 53:Nil,
Review 54:Lovely friendly helpful hosts. Great breakfast. The spa was amazing after doing the Queen Charlotte Track. Top marks for that alone. Comfortable rooms, beds and ample bathrooms. Relaxing atmosphere. A great place to stay.
Review 55:Place was immaculate with everything you could think off. Spa was lovely, staff extremely helpful and facilities were spotless. Very close to ferry terminal, walking distance to town. Would stay here anytime and I'm not even a backpacker!
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Really laid back owners who make you feel very welcome and comfortable! Great standard of rooms and good breakfast with fab home made scones for breakfast. Wished I'd stayed in Picton more than just one night!
Review 58:No complaints.
Review 59:The owners run a wonderful backpackers. We are a mature couple and enjoyed being among the young travellers. Enjoyed the scones and appreciated the lift to the ferry.
Review 60:General ambiance; excellent views over Picton waters and town; walking proximity to the town center - the owners were happy to give a lift in if they were going. The morning cheese scones were delicious.
Review 61:Comfy sitting area-very clean rooms-unlimited free Wi-Fi-home baked delicious scones for breakfast-milk provided-ferry pickup/put down-friendly helpful reception. Hope I haven't missed anything.
Review 62:Though I stayed in a private suite I enjoyed the interaction with the other guest in the Kitchen. Also beside the free breakfast they made scones for everyone, nice touch.
Review 63:Wi-fi wasn't always working properly. But they did everything they could to fix it. And there's a lot to anyways ;)
Review 64:Nice staff! free bike use. Fantastic scones! :)
Review 65:Can't find fault with this place - by far the best backpackers we stayed in during our time in New Zealand. Ten minutes walk from the town or if you're arriving by ferry it's right next to the terminal. The hosts have thought of everything - free tea, coffee & breakfast, free bike hire if you want to explore the Malborough Sounds, a games room, a hot tub & even plastic wine glasses to use while you're in Our double room was like a hotel, complete with complimentary toiletries. Friendly & helpful staff, & a very cute dog! Hope we'll be back.
Review 66:Comfortable bed to lay in, free wi-fi, hosts were awesome too. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable accommodation and facilities were reasonable too.
Review 67:No wifi in the room, a bit of traffic noise at night , being very near the ferry.
Review 68:Staff and facilities, all excellent . High quality for a backpackers,
Review 69:Modified my booking from 2 nights into 1 night, owners thought that I have completely canceled my booking so they removed me from the system. They were fully booked so they didn't have a bed for me in the dorm rooms. They tried to look for a place for me to stay in Picton, but nothing was available. They offered to set a bed in the lounge room but not until 9:30pm! They charged me $3 less. It was quite alright since I only stayed for the night, I wish I had access to a bed earlier since I had been tired traveling.
Review 70:My husband and I stayed in the apartment, as it was the only room left. We wish we could have stayed longer as it was great space. Super close to the ferry! Good view. Homemade scones for breakfast.
Review 71:Gary and Nikki were great hosts. Really lovely place - probably the nicest backpackers we've stayed in. Really liked the hot tub And the scones nikki makes for breakfast are amazing!

Review 78:Nothing.
Review 79:Lots of different rooms enabling people to do their own thing in groups or alone. Lots of room in the kitchen and fridge storage space. Excellent free breakfast and amazing owners all ready to help each day. Great spar pool after a hike.
Review 80:Very friendly owners, feels more like staying in a luxurious bed&breakfast than in a hostel! Wonderful common spaces, kitchen (hot scones for breakfast!), ... Free pickup from ferry/bus stop Free bicycle rental
Review 81:We had a queen room which was very small and lacked any storage or hanging facilities, so really only good for an overnight stop. The property was up a very steep hill and had quite limited parking, not good if you have mobility problems.
Review 82:Gary and Nikki are great hosts of this unusual stopover. Very warm and helpful. Complementary breakfast was a lovely surprise, especially the home- made scones - delicious! Rooms were tastefully decorated in modern style. Very close to the port and town.
Review 83:Really cool place to stay. Staff was friendly and the facilities were awesome. Free wifi in common areas, nice clean kitchen and lounges, pool table, table tennis and a spa. Probably the best hostle I've stayed in anywhere in NZ
Review 84:Whirlpool was very chlorinated. We could hear the neighbours very well.
Review 85:You can see the Bluebridge Ferry from the common balcony. The room was nice, but small. You go first through toilet and shower and then you are in the sleeping room. Two cats and one dog are living there. The garden was very nice. In the morning we got very tasty cheese scones.

Review 87:Easy to book. Pick up at the ferry terminal. Great location. Crisp clean sheets. Lovely fluffy towels. Fantastic friendly hosts. Hot scones for breakfast

Review 90:Nah.
Review 91:Defenitely the staffs; Gary & Nikki makes you feel like you're part of the family. And The whole environment is very nice & comfortable. Free wifi and breakfast too. Defenitely is 1 of the best hostels I ever stayed!
Review 92:8 bed dorm room is small and crowded while it is full.
Review 93:Next to the Bluebridge Ferry. Has outdoor hot tube. The owner is very freindly and vey helpful. Public area is quite confortable.
Review 94:Don't bring too many luggages, the rooms are quite tiny!
Review 95:Awesome location if you come with the ferry from Wellington, everything is ready for late arrivals as well. Quiet and comfy bedroom (very small but all you need for the night), homemade scones for breakfast with view on the beautiful garden, friendly staff.
Review 96:The weather - it rained all day! But of course they couldn't do anything about that.
Review 97:Queen ensuite was delightful. Cheese scones for breakfast every day and a wood stove for warmth. Owners are very caring and helpful. The facility was spotless. Would definitely stay again!
Review 98:Nothing not to like for the price
Review 99:New owners were lovely Stayed in queen room with ensuite. Lovely bedding and bed and toiletries. Bedroom was on the smaller side but this is not a criticism just a comment.
