Reviews for Pakse Hotel
Review 1:Staff could be a bit more helpful. We tried to book a bus to the4000 islands. We got simply send off to look for another travelagency in the city.
Review 2:The rooftop bar and restaurant is absolutely worth it - we had a greattime there. The staff is friendly. Breakfast in the morning was verygood. We noticed the same thing, that several people here described: therates on booking.com are higher than the rates you get on site - but inthe end we got charged the local price without saying anything.
Review 3:Restaurant on the roof garden is poorly managed, avoid busy times as you very likely will wait forever and mediocre food will be cold when it finally arrives at your table. New Years dinner was worst in a long time. Hotel can be quite noisy due to its location. Hot water in shower was difficult to get because of low water pressure. Staff language skills are very basic, but better than my Lao. No safe deposit box.
Review 4:Ok place to stay for a few days in the centre of Pakse. All parts and highlights of city are in easy walking distance. Good location from where to start exploring Bolaven plateau. Room on 6th floor was not fancy but ok, very good WiFi, comfortable bed, clean. Easy transport to airport, good place to book local tours which can be a good experience although they are very expensive. You'd better don't expect an English speaking guide. Quite a few nice eateries in the neighborhood.
Review 5:The "panorama restaurant" on the 7th floor serves great food but takes forever to be served. If you're hungry go somewhere else - it will take an hour from ordering to getting your food!
Review 6:Thought the prices at the tour company on the hotel foyer were expensive. Better to checkout prices with other tour companies.
Review 7:The Panorama restaurant on the 7 th floor is excellent for sunset views. Breakfast was adequate with fresh eggs cooked to order.
Review 8:nothing to add here.
Review 9:The hotel is really perfect. People nice and the management too. Room spacious and clean. Stunning view on the landscape....marvellous
Review 10:Once in a breakfast there was everything clear up already 9.45am even breakfast should be until 10am, but they bring some food to the table, but not an buffet breakfast, food was cold and not fresh anymore...a bit small rooms, better to not book from booking.com, coz room in hotel straight more cheap...what idea for book from booking.com if the price is directly in a hotel more cheap?
Review 11:Nice asian style hotel, first time star rate is right, 3 star hotel and very clean, staff nice and ok---
Review 12:The only negative during my stay was if you are intending on leaving early breakfast does not start until 6.30 am. restaurant staff were still setting up until 6.45am bus pick up for border is around 7 this does not give one enough time. to digest your food . I did suggest to one of the staff in the Restaurant that 6 am would be better for long distance travellers before hitting those horrendous roads! :) .
Review 13:The hotel has warm friendly staff who were very helpful in touching base with my bus company who it appeared had forgotten about myself. Giving me an early check in . after being on an over night bus from Vientiane I was exhausted this allowed me to catch up on some much needed sleep then press on to enjoy some of the sites of Pakse in the afternoon. The beautiful roof top bar area is a must view on sunset which was one of the best since being in Laos :) Breakfast was nice with eggs toast a selection of fruits and sweets coffee /tea and juice. .
Review 14:Nothing in particular.
Review 15:Staff and management are very friendly and welcoming. There is a warm athmosphere in the hotel. Great view from the terrace. The agents at the excursion desk are very professional and extremely kind.
Review 16:Its a shame you couldn't get a beer downstairs on the front porch tables (or at the rooftop during the day)
Review 17:Great location. Nice ambiance. Roof top restaurant is nice.
Review 18:Facilities, just wish that there was a fitness centre. So jog to other hotel gym
Review 19:Extremely sweet, and patient, always ready to assist the customer. Felt the level of service was first class
Review 20:NO hot water, no electricity in the morning (fuse blew) & no wifi. Room was a very odd configuration with air con only making one area of the room cool
Review 21:Rooftop restaurant, wide staircases, travel agency in hotel
Review 22:Warning, I am very critical sometimes: This place is very nice, and the maintenance and cleanliness is fantastic. However, it can be really annoying when every single time you go to the bathroom there is someone cleaning...please leave me alone and just don't come in for 2 minutes. It can also be annoying at 1 am or 5 am when someone is using a vacuum cleaner. It is great to have a clean place, but the staff can really get annoying when there are just too many of them with too little to do. The vacuum cleaner kept us both up and had to be the worst part. It is very clean though. Good job on that. No safety deposit box even though we were told there was one (didn't feel as though we would have needed it though). Shower head is really low for travelers of average height (this is typical for Laos). Show up to the breakfast early. We got remnants of what was left of the cereal by coming only 45 minutes early...
Review 23:Great spot. Near local farmer market etc., center area. Clean. Safe. The view from the rooftop can't be beat and you should go regardless of whether you are staying at this hotel. Really good value for your money. Would recommend.
Review 24:Food service on roof top a bit amateurish but forgiveable
Review 25:friendly staff and got an upgrade to a very comfortable room. Great location and excellent breakfast and service from all staff. Roof top terrace is perfect for drinks at sunset
Review 26:The staff at the Pakse Hotel were the highlight of our stay. They were helpful from the moment we walked in the door. Jerome, the general manager, went out of his way to help us with our flight changes even though it was almost ten o'clock at night. Similarly, the front desk staff and tourist desk lady went out of their way to make sure that our flight mix-ups were sorted out by calling the airlines for us. Top notch service. The breakfast spread was huge and everything was fresh and well presented. Another highlight for us was our dinner at the rooftop restaurant - in addition to the delicious meal and breathtaking views, the chocolate mousse was divine! Thanks so much to everyone at the Pakse Hotel - our onward travel plans may have been doomed had it not been for professional and extremely helpful staff!
Review 27:No safety deposit boxes but valuables could be put in the hotels main safe in locked bags at reception which was a bit of a pain when you wanted something.
Review 28:The Pakse Hotel is an old style hotel with good rooms and very big hallways! We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a superior room for no extra charge which was nice! All the staff and the owner were very helpful and the restaurant/bar on the rooftop is God and great for sunsets! The breakfast had a great choice and eggs were cooked to order!
