Reviews for Hampshire Hotel – De Broeierd Enschede
Review 1:The balcony needs cleaning. Fallen leaves dried up and collected in the balcony.
Review 2:The location is accessible and close to the city centre and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 3:It was a bit overpriced
Review 4:Everything!! This was one of the best experiences at a hotel. Staff was friendly, hotel was beautiful and the room was awesome
Review 5:First room we were offered was split level, with a working area and bathroom below, and the bedroom above, accessed by a steep spiral staricase. We asked for a more conventional room, and this was done, but still had the previous guests toiletries in the bathroom. We were then given the adjacent room, was was fine. House red wine was very second rate and not particularly cheap.
Review 6:Nice room, eventually. Good breakfast
Review 7:The 'Bistro' was actually a restaurant and somewhat formal with over-cooked, over-fancy and over-priced food. Breakfast was perfectly adequate but there were no members of staff on hand.
Review 8:Nice, comfortable hotel with friendly staff
Review 9:Poorly laid out for guests arriving in the dark by public transport - it took me 10 minutes to find the entrance. Relatively expensive.
Review 10:Efficient staff and well organised systems. Very convenient for the University of Twente.
Review 11:I found the light in the room was a little too dark for me, even with all the lights turned on it was still dark. Did not have a breakfast as I thought €15 was expensive, all hotels I stay in usually breakfast is included in the room price, or breakfast is half the price of yours.
Review 12:Rooms were superb, courtesy tray was a nice touch, have stayed in many a hotel abroad and none have had this. Cleanliness was excellent. Love the rattan furniture outside the room to sit out on.
Review 13:1. Room cleanliness, unfortunatelly I found a living Cockroach. 2. Wi-fi was slow.
Review 14:1. Receptionest was so friendly and did her job smoothly (her name is Lavinia I think). 2. Hotel location is perfect for relaxation & transportation points.
Review 15:A bit far to the city center (about 45 minutes walk) Only one bus per hour on sundays.
Review 16:The staff and the price. Good spacious room. Very clean and tidy. Close to bus stop. Free parking.
Review 17:If you would like to experience what it's like to sleep in a fan oven, here's your chance. Yes, it was hot outside, but with the air con breaking down, and with the room based in the roof space, with a ceiling fan it was like sleeping in an oven. The lift had broken down too, meaning a trip up a very steep flight of stairs. The food was average and over priced. And our room was on 2 levels with open stairs. Not ideal for an active and inquisitive 2 year old. Would I have given this a higher score if the weather had been cooler? Probably, but not by much.
Review 18:Good location for stopping overnight from Germany to Rotterdam
Review 19:This whole hotel will needs to be refurbished within a number of years, lots of wear and the everywhere. Breakfast was too simple for the price.
Review 20:Room was large
Review 21:There weren't many choice for gluten it dairy free diets at breakfast. There wasn't any decaf coffee but this was brought out when we asked. Otherwise everything else was perfect. I would definitely stay here again, in a flash.
Review 22:The bed was SO comfortable, the room was huge, the staff were friendly. The bistro looked great but we didn't get to eat there as we arrived at 10pm and it was shut
Review 23:No negatives at all.
Review 24:We had stayed there before and knew the hotel. The staff were excellent: friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good, and the restaurant very nice. A very comfortable hotel with character. We will happily stay at hotels in your group again.
Review 25:I think the bistro meal is slightly expensive for the quality of the main course. Dessert though was excellent
Review 26:Staff on reception were excellent, very good location for visiting the University. Free wifi didn't work with my laptop and I was given a code instead to use which worked.
Review 27:Unfortunately, the restaurant closes too early and if you arrive late there's nowhere to grab a bite, in or around the hotel.
Review 28:Nice hotel, even though some bits are a bit tired. Would stay again. Nice quiet location.
Review 29:It is quite expensive and even though it is a very nice hotel I did not feel the price was justified, although that is probably due to the location. The bathtub was a bit narrow for two people to enjoy themselves in properly.
Review 30:The bed was very good quality. Room was clean, very quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The hotel has a very nice restaurant with fast service and good food.
Review 31:Wonderful place, inn-style; comfy and really nice. Exactly like in the photos. Great location for our purpose of visiting University of Twente. 5-7 mins walking distance from train station and the university.
Review 32:no gym, no leisure facilities, bar closes fairly early, no place to open suitcase except floor, price comparably high (international price but no international quality/standard)
Review 33:good restaurant, friendly service, good breakfast, close by business area
Review 34:The layout of the rooms furniture was not practical. Our card (key) didn't work twice, eventually we were sent to another room. The toilet seat was littered with pubic hair and stains. There were no clear indications as to where things were, so we never saw the mini bar until check out time The double bed was two singles that kept separating
Review 35:The reception was very polite and helpful The room wasn't bad and the bathroom, bathub and toilet were perfect
Review 36:Food a bit pricey but it was good.
Review 37:Lovely Hotel, spotlessly clean, very quiet rooms, friendly staff and delicious food. Roomy accommodation. Train and bus stops nearby. English on the TV.
Review 38:Small details: the entrance to the hotel was not easy to find; for the price paid I expected a bottle of water in the room, but that was not the case.
Review 39:Luxurious hotel, calm and immersed in nature. Very professional staff.
Review 40:The room was cold. Staff on one evening was miserable and not at all attentive
Review 41:I have stayed there on two occasion now. I booked on line and put my card details in to secure my room. The price was different to the bill at the end of my staff which now I'm home I realise. I found the new room downstairs very cold and clinical. The outside is old and homely and I was dissappionted. However I would remind it to others.
Review 42:I booked a room without breakfast, but the cost charged without leave. Therefore I told a staff to cancell second day, but cancell charge was charged without leave, too. I asked a staff to cancell the charge , but I can't persuade her. I am in troubled.

Review 102:Very good room
Review 103:You look to the 1 m away another roof
Review 104:location and service are all excellent!
Review 105:Amazing restaurant with excellent service! Breakfast was good! Nice rooms!
Review 106:Arrival - very 'mechanical' receptionist Sloppy housekeeping - room smelled 'stuffy' upon arrival - ⅔ of the toiletries (wall-mounted dispensers) were empty. - only one sachet of coffee in a twin-bedded room - no milk for black tea (only coffee creamer), no green tee Restaurant - very mediocre but expensive food in the restaurant - restaurant evening staff very 'robotic' and talked down to us - breakfast staff did not even bother to greet us / explain how 'things work' but did spend a LOT of time speaking with other colleagues! Hotel 'hardware' - noise from other adjoining rooms and equipment (ventilation) outside - prevented us from keeping the windows open at night. - very lousy view (through Velux roof light onto other roofs) The bill: over € 200 for this (a lousy dinner with no alcohol, bed & breakfast)? In a provincial location? Get real !
Review 107:Close to the university campus where we came for an orientation day for our son. Very friendly reception staff at checkout, although they never bothered to ask whether we had enjoyed our stay.... perhaps just as well they didn't.
Review 108:Did not sleep too well due to the noise made by the other guests in the hotel. It was 04.00 in the morning before I finally got some sleep
Review 109:Nice restaurant
Review 110:There was not enough pressure in the water in the shower.
Review 111:I was visiting the Universtity with my son so the location was most convenient. The staff were reallynice and helpful.
Review 112:The vanity lights in the bathroom are terrible! Not that they don't do their job but for women wanting to apply their make-up etc., just hard to see well in the mirror, not very flattering..
Review 113:The beds are great!
Review 114:This hotel was a very nice surprise. The room (1st floor) was really cosy and beautifully arranged, felt like home immediately. The restaurant was excellent. The staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Review 115:The rooms were not cleaned on a dailly basis and the beds were not made up everyday. The tops in the rooms were left dirty and stained.
Review 116:The open fire in the bar/lounge. The breakfast was most enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable with lots of hot water in the bathroom/shower.
Review 117:Far from the center of town and not much in the surroundings for food, entertainment.
Review 118:Restaurant (Bistro) is good (level and variety) as well as the breakfast at the brasserie
Review 119:€15 for breakfast is just too much
Review 120:Cosy environment within an area with only offices. Various sights and things-to-do within a reasonable distance. We were given a room with stairs even though we were with a toddler. After talking to the staff we were immediately given a more luxurious room on the ground floor. Great service.
