Review 1：The bed was uncomfortable. The sauna is OK but too far away from hotel rooms and you need to cross the TV room wearing inappropriate costume to reach it + book in advance for heating. Breakfast is made with cheap food.

Review 5：The infinity pools are a potential problem especially for mature guests their are no guard rails to the steps to help people get in and out .Whilst there my wife fell headfirst into the pool in trying to dip her foot in the water .

The breakfast were very good and we had 2 enjoyable evening meals .Having looked on line before we went i would describe this hotel as the Ronseal hotel i.e. exactly what it said on the tin . We would have no hesitation about recommending or returning .

Review 10：All the hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and service in all areas. We were particularly impressed by the chef responsible for the evening meals and by the jovial, yet not obsequious, barstaff, especially Samuel, Sando and Ricardo. The part-owner, Vincent, was especially informative about the local area, too.

Review 11：The beds were too hard and our first night was wakeful, until toppers were provided; which improved our sleep a little. My wife is partially disabled and has difficulty walking long distances, therefore the location of the hotel (up a long hill from the main town) should have been made aware to us when we booked.

Review 24：Poor bedroom, the cupboard handles loose and coming out, safe out of order (need to pay 5 €ur/day at the reception), no one at the bar near the swimming pool, at 7.45 there was still the housekeeping who washed the floor and the breakfast was not all ready at the buffet.

Review 26：Excellent facilities and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The lady at the desk went out of her way to assist us with a last minute problem of a lost car key. Amazingly friendly owners too!

It'd be nice to have a mini-bus to at least help you up the hill. - The two staff members at breakfast need to communicate better, they left us literally standing and waiting for what we'd asked for, sure they didn't mean it but it made us feel ignored. - Even though we had some, "buts" it really is a worthwhile hotel.

Review 29：We were in this area and just stayed one night ,however it was a great choice .The pool area is lovely and we were served coffee and snacks here very promptly .Room comfortable with a nice balcony ,fridge and dryer on balcony for swimwear .Breakfast was excellent ,we were on the veranda area which was lovely and the dining room looked very inviting .Staff were very friendly and helpful .Would stay here again

Review 43：It was my wife's birthday and all the staff were informed.Every member we met ,at reception and in the restaurant wished her well and the chef even made her a special sweet after our meal.There was also a complimentary bottle of wine put in our room while we walked into Luz.We couldn't have been better looked after in any 5+ star hotel.

Review 44：Beds were hard (common in Portugal) and although the hotel wasn't full the guests were put in rooms next to each other and you could easily hear toilets, showers etc.

Review 49：Average age of hotel residents was well above 65. But that is in line with the rest of Luz where there is nothing happening - just an overdeveloped resort with an admittedly very nice beach.

Breakfast is good, plenty of choices - real value for money. Small Luz cafes and restaurants withing walking distance. We had a problem with air-con, which was fixed within few hours.
