Reviews for Court Hotel Kurashiki

Review 1:Staff were not terribly friendly, and most of the food (meant to be warm) was cold in the breakfast buffet.

Review 2:Fabulous location. Very comfortable rooms, beautifully serviced.

Review 3:Nothing its excellent.

Review 4:The hotel is well worth the ten minute walk from the station. Most guests are Japanese and the hotel was very peaceful. It is ultra modern and well put together. I thought our room was spacious and worth the money. Bathroom was so lovely and the huge TV a bonus. The buffet breakfast was awesome, help yourself and enjoy.

Review 5:I couldn't grasp any negative thought or feeling just yet.

Review 6:I like the fact that the Court Hotel Kurashiki is being so close to the Bikan Historical Quarter and approximately 10-15 minutes walk from Kurashiki Station. Luckily, the room I booked was actually bigger than I thought it would be, breakfast included. The hotel locate in quite a peaceful area and there're many convenient shops, restaurant and cafe around. The staffs are helpful and welcoming despite a little lack of english communication but they're mostly trying to help and understanding. I wish I had more time to spend and wonder around the area and it was a pleasant stay at the Court Hotel.

Review 7:The hotel was in need of a renovation. The carpets were dirty and torn. The wall paper in our room was peeling off the wall.

Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 9:The GPS in our car could not lead us to the hotel.

Review 10:The room is very spacious and clean. We rarely find such a big room with reasonable price in Japan. Will stay there again if we tour Kurashiki in future.

Review 11:Couldn't call it a big problem, but I suggested that foreign visitors might like to buy the hotels own yakuza. also, the dining room floor was a little sticky, but perhaps a guest had spilt some milk!

Review 12:Lovely spacious room and very stylish. Sweet staff, and the hotel had thought of everything.

Review 13:As a hotel service line, English is playing an important role.

Review 14:Price: Great value! I was given a twin room with a price which I will properly get a unit at a capsule hotel in major cities! Location: Less than 10 minutes walk from the station, less than 3 minutes walk from Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Review 15:The dining room was geared up for bus groups!...solo travellers were like an afterthought and could only squeeze into corner table.

Review 16:Loved the proximity to the Old Quarter and the canal was perfect. Nearby restaurants and ministore very handy.

Review 17:Facilities were a little tired. Limited English at Reception but we were able to communicate.

Review 18:Spacious room, comfortable bed, fantastic shower, value for money. The best thing is the hotel's location - central to canal & historic quarter, shops; less than 1km from train station.

Review 19:Honestly had no complaints.

Review 20:The location was perfect, just a block away from the historical area. The breakfast was excellent. Fast Wifi. Courteous and helpful staff.

Review 21:The rooms were a little old, but clean and quite comfortable.

Review 22:This hotel was great. Wonderful hotel in a great location for a great price. The rooms had good size for our two children.

Review 23:Bed was quite hard. Breakfast was not to our taste.

Review 24:Peaceful venue. Decent size room. King size bed. Right next to historical district. Great strength wifi even in room.

Review 25:The room was excellent, literally nothing wrong. Quiet, clean, everything working well, all amenities. The only hotel I stayed at in Japan where someone in the staff spoke good English.

Review 26:Wifi is only in the hotel lobby. Parking is close but not on-site and costs ¥800 a day. Rooms are not soundproof. A choice of pillows would be nice; the one you get has beans on the back so not the most comfortable.

Review 27:Easy check-in with English speaking staff. Breakfast was good - a mix of Japanese and Western. Good heating. Easy walk to the canal area and to the station. There's an outlet mall next to the train station!

Review 28:They have no washing machines.. but the reception called to a hotel 29 meters nearby and I could wash there..

Review 29:All most everything. .near the old town..

Review 30:No wifi but ethernet connector. Bring your own travel router!

Review 31:Looks a bit dated from outside, but the hotel has big rooms, big comfortable beds - better than average japanese standard. The breakfast is recommended and the location is great, just 2 minutes walk to the old town. Family mart nearby.

Review 32:We stayed for 4 nights and were very comfortable. Staff do not have perfect English but it wasn't a problem as they are very willing to sort anything, so it just takes a little extra time to be understood. Our stay in Kurashiki was perfect!

Review 33:The Town is not worth seeing at all. The hotel is old and smells of smoke. The furniture is worn-out. Didn't feel comfortable at all and checked out the same day without sleeping there.

Review 34:The hotel is beginning to get oldish, a little make up wouldn't hurt!

Review 35:For a standard fare, we had an extra big bedroom overlooking the city through two huge windows, which made it really cool. Conveniently located, with nothing exceptionally good or bad.

Review 36:No coffee in the room.

Review 37:Very close to Bikan Area of Kurashiki just 3 minutes walk. Quiet room. Friendly hotel staff. Convenience store is also very close.

Review 38:No wifi in the rooms! I had thought that Booking.com had said thatthere was wifi in the rooms, but apparently this is not the case - onlycabled internet. While the staff were nice, their English language skills weren't as good as a number of other similar hotels we have visited during our time in Japan. My English-Japanese phrasebook proved essential for some basic hotel-related requests (e.g. An extra pillow). Kurashiki may not be a big city, but it gets enough tourists to surely make English language skills worthwhile for the hotel. The room was large, but in a rather run-down state (carpet tiles were loose, electrical wires exposed beside bed, etc.). All in all, the hotel has a lot of potential. Its rooms seem bigger than most hotels we have stayed in while in Japan, with good layout, its staff are friendly, its location is great....but it is time for a renovation.

Review 39:The location was good - only a couple of minutes walking to the old townof Kurashiki. The breakfast buffet was large and very cheap, only about 6 euros. The staff were friendly.

Review 40:The location. Kurashiki was not the popular, bustling tourist destination I had come to expect from reading about it.

Review 41:The hotel was comfortable and staff were helpful.

Review 42:We didn't try their food so cannot make a comment. They do have WIFI but only in lobby. This is not convenient.

Review 43:Hotel very close to the main tourist area and there is parking on site. We have got a very good price for one night, only 20,000 yen for one twin room and one triple room. Two double size beds in twin room; this is very generous in Japan. The triple room is of good size too.

Review 44:Decor was a bit dated; breakfast was 'so-so'; too hot in the room; bit noisy (motobikes and hotel plumbing!)

Review 45:Great location and nice hotel.

Review 46:smoking smell in the room is quite strong

Review 47:room and location is good breakfast is great

Review 48:large room, good (and free) breakfast, friendly staff, good location, close to Bikan area

Review 49:Location is good. Just near the old town. The restaurant near hotel is very good!

Review 50:Outdated décor

Review 51:Good location, friendly staff.

Review 52:No.

Review 53:Great location. Very near the attraction, not far from station as well. Room is very nice. Great price.

Review 54:English- Basic or less

Review 55:location price / value Very nice team always willing to help

Review 56:Hotel is located on the way from the train station to the old town of Kurashiki. Big and comfortable room.

Review 57:Only one available bike for interested couple.

Review 58:Location close to historic sightseeing district. Free bicycle rental.

Review 59:Car park too far away

Review 60:Convenience and nice place

Review 61:Car park is far away from the hotel and the room is very very small.

Review 62:Great breakfast buffet (Western and Japanese style) Perfect location (< 5 mins from canal district) Value for money

Review 63:Attractive, interesting area close to hotel. Good souvenir shops and galleries.

Review 64:Rooms are dated.

Review 65:Double twin room was bigger than most rooms by Japanese standards.

Review 66:No coffee shop, had to go out to eat.

Review 67:The size of the room.

Review 68:Location

Review 69:Good size of room & comfortable

Review 70:No air con

Review 71:position

Review 72:Under the bed was little bit dirty.

Review 73:Good location. Friendly staff.

Review 74:No wifi in the room and it only available at the lobby

Review 75:The location is hard to beat and the breakfast is sumptuous.

Review 76:Parking access from the main street was quite narrow.

Review 77:Central location. A short walk from the canal.

Review 78:good wifi even though it was only in the lobby, comfortable, large room

Review 79:The upgraded room was very spacious.

Review 80:easy access to historic area and generous room size with lovely view

Review 81:It was super affordable for my friend and I for one night, still in short distance to Okayama, and it seems like a cute bike town!

Review 82:Rather impersonal service

Review 83:Location and ambienceer i

Review 84:Restaurant only open for breakfast, but plenty of dining choices nearby.

Review 85:Lovely Hotel with good location in the Town.

Review 86:The room deco and the window view to city.

Review 90:Patchy Internet.

Review 91:Large comfortable room, good air-conditioning, good buffet breakfast

Review 92:No wifi in the room. Only in the lobby

Review 93:Fantastic location. 2minutes walking to the old town centre

Review 105:proximity to historic warehouse area

Review 106:No wireless in the room; only in the lobby

Review 107:Perfect location and friendly staff.

Review 108:Dust under bed, should be vaccumed.

Review 109:Staff ils excellent ans went thé extra mile to accomodate my young family. This is by far my favourite hotel in Japan and it is thanks to the staff. I recommend the hotel to everyone. Great value for money. Warm welcome to foreigners and young families. Free use of bikes and fast in room Wi-Fi.

Review 110:This is an excellent 'modern' hotel. Look elsewhere if you are looking for more traditional Ryokan.

Review 111:This is one of a few hotels that I really have to say that I like everything about it. Literally next to the beautiful canal area. The room is surprisingly large for Japanese standard. Promptly equipped, clean, and comfy. I wish I could stay there longer.

Review 112:Wifi only in lobby, but we did have free wifi there.

Review 113:The room, though small, was very comfortable and completely satisfactory. The 840 yen breakfast buffet had a combination of western and Japanese foods. -- a great deal. The canal street was only a block away!

Review 114:The hotel was easy to find and close to the JR Kurashiki station for easy access to Okayama and then onto Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto. We liked our spacious, clean and comfortable double bed room. The hotel is very close to Kurashiki's main attraction, the old canal area. We used the hotel as a place to slow down for three nights.

Review 115:No shower cap offered - at all.

Review 116:The room was good size compared to other hotels we stayed in Japan. Located next to canal (tourism attraction). Staff didn't speak English but were helpful in trying to help us. We arrived before checkin time and left our suitcases at the reception, and when we got the room, the suitcases were already there. First time this happened in Japan, nice surprise that happened to us only in Court Hotel so far. Great price.

Review 117:Might be hard to find the hotel main entrance when coming from the station. Just pay attention.

Review 118:Walkable distance from the station and near the main tourist street

Review 119:The hotel sign was not really outstanding.

Review 120:The staff well communicate in English and really helpful on guiding for sightseeing place. The room is so comfortable, love to stay longer!

Review 121:The wifi at lobby sometimes didn't work

Review 122:The room is big considering the price and average room sizes in Japan. The hotel is located conveniently at the entrance of the scenic spot and I was able to go to and from the hotel and the scenic spot several times a day.

Review 123:Rooms a bit worn considering the price, and be sure to have a map ready, as it is a bit difficult to find, but the location is actually very practical.

Review 124:Room was ok, bathroom clean and shower pressure wonderful. Can't comment on the level of English as we checked in in Japanese.

Review 125:Wifi is only available in the lobby. (There is WLAN in the room.)

Review 126:We booked a triple room. The room is very large. There are 3 single beds and a sofa in the room. The shower room and the beds are clean. It's about 10 minutes walking for the JR Kurashiki (倉敷) station. And it's very convenient to visit Kurashiki-Bikan Historical Quarter (倉敷美觀地區).

Review 127:WiFi only in lobby.

Review 128:Great location with nice price.

Review 129:The sofa in the room looked a little dingy

Review 130:Comfy beds! Clean bathroom! Quiet, and great location! Really affordable
