Review 1：the room was a bit small thought it was bigger when booking. but it was only for 1 night so it didn't matter

Review 5：We turned up intending to stop a night however we ended up stopping for three! The first morning of our stay we went paddle boarding which awesome and relaxed. The following two days we surfed. All the staff were really friendly, welcoming and appeared to really want to be there. Great public areas for you to sit, relax and meet new people. The public areas encouraged guest interaction where as many other hostels I have been to seems to foster a divide between staff and guests. If your on the west coast its is well worth a visit.
Review 6：There was only one tap in each kitchen so we had to que up for water several times behind people washing dishes & cooking, etc.

Review 42：most overpriced place we have stayed in NZ for what you get - we like backpackers and stay in them regulary, as well as quality hotels - we paid the same rate for this backpackers, that we paid for a quality hotel in a similar town the next night. Back packers should be cheaper - this was one of those times when booking ahead did not pay off - we thought the standard of accommodation in this area was going to be of a low quality and/or minimal accommodation would be available - quality of other hotels was good and the town is not limited in choice
