Review 1：Only partly renovated apprtement, Poor kitchen utilities, shortage of cutlery, glasses etc, very old fridge. Only single glass windows, getting cold at nights...why pay for wi-fi should be free !

Good location if you're happy with a 15 minute walk - it is equidistant to the old town and the gorgeous Praia de Porto de Mos beach, which was a deliberate choice on our part... very nice steakhouse nearby named Brasao, at Praça do Poder Local, a short walk away.

Review 9：We had to pay for wifi and then it didn't even work in our room. The towels they give you are tiny and must be replaced constantly. Hot water in the shower didn't last very long.

Review 13：Could hear the people below us really loudly. Hear them on the phone and even snoring! No iron or hairdryer and the hairdryer they gave us went bang when i plugged it in. No apology from reception when we mentioned it.

Wifi is paid, that I personally do not like very much in hotels; I would prefer paying 5 or 10 bucks more for the room but have then free wifi. Safe in the room is paid too, and quite expensive (15 euro).

Review 16：Apartments are big and well-equipped; there're two swimming pools in the hotel; there is a shower cabin so when you have some time after check-out you can leave your luggage at reception, go to the beach, then return and take a shower - very convenient.

Review 21：Our apartment was large and spacious.more than enough room for 2 of us. Large kitchen, with everything what you need. Bathroom was nice , clean and spacious, we have some ants there but that wasn't big issue for us. Beds were two single beds pushed together like many hotels but beds mattress are very hard. Free air con; Wifi is €1 a day. Two large pools, which were nice and clean. There is a great rule of not being allowed to put your towels on beds to reserve unless you are using them - love this but some people still do this anyway ! Free shuttle service to the beach and town 3 times a day. 20 minutes walk to the city and around 10 - 15 to the Praia de Mos and Praia dona Ana. Taxi cost 5-7 euros.

Review 22：Shuttle bus into Lagos/beaches, supermarket just outside complex for daily needs, ideal base for exploring the coast, could've done with a slightly bigger patio table for the huge patio area - but it was great to sit outside for breakfast etc so we got over it! Great value find, will be back :0)

Review 23：Lack of athmosphere and no place around the pool for a snack or drink. The bar was closed verrry early on Saturday night and all day Sunday. We're not big drinkers but enjoyed a nightcap and meeting others in the evening.

Review 24：Liked the size of the apartments, well equipped and the location was good for us. The apartments were well maintained and the general area was nice and quiet for a good night's sleep. Also close to nice restaurants.

Review 25：Lovely accommodation a bit far from beaches and town. The staff not very helpfu. A local showed us shortcut to the beach making it a few minutes walk rather than the 30 minutes it takes on the roadway that the staff marked on the map. Resort style accommodation.

Review 26：Didn't have a launderette (didn't need one though). The beach and town were a 15mins(ish) walk down a hill which was fine for us but would be a challenge if you were infirm. However, If you hire a car, parking nearby is easy.

Review 27：The apartment was really spacious and clean. You could always find a bed by the pool. The bar/restaurant staff were really friendly and the food was good. The bar was quiet by 11.30, not that it was noisy before. Lagos town is nearby and the beaches were fabulous. Perfect.

Review 28：This is a great value hotel and I was surprised by the quality and cleanliness considering the low prices. Nice, big, apartments fully equipped with everything dishes and cooking utensils. Hotel bar decent but very slow. The hotel is an easy walk to Camilo and Port Mos beaches and not a bad walk to the city center. This would be a great place for longer stays considering it enables you to cook for yourself and the apartments include nice sized living rooms.

Review 39：The resort has 2 great pools & the property overall is spot clean. One of the apartments we were allocated was very spacious but cleaning equipment was not there. Should consider installing washing machines & wouldn't mind paying a few extra euro's per night for heated pools as the water although very inviting was a tad too cold & we didn't swim as much as we wanted to because of that. Overall a wonderful stay at Vilabranca.

Review 40：The apartments were somewhat threadbare and the finishing could do with a little work. There is also a huge job that needs to be done on the wifi. It is truly dreadful with download speeds that were less than my 3G. This is going to be important to improve - particularly when trying to attract families as this is an important distractor.

The bar was very well stocked and the bar staff were incredibly engaging and always had a smile on their faces - despite working incredibly long hours. They made the stay. I can't praise them highly enough

Review 48：The sofa bed didn't work two nights in a row; and although the facilities staff were helpful, it took several visits to get attention. The towels weren't changed for eight days, then twice in two days. There were ants in the bathroom and bedroom (not a huge number, although more than there should have been), and despite three requests, no action seemed to be taken. Our holiday finished before we saw any action - they may still be there!

Review 55：The suitability of the accommodation large clean and spacious apartment. The pool was brilliant and only discovered pool 2 on the last day. Easy access to beaches and the lovely town of Lagos. Very relaxing and wanted for nothing. The mini bus was a great bonus but walk to beaches and town was also very do able. ideal to have a mini mart shop across the road and an intermarche only 15mins walk away.

Review 56：Bad cleaning - maids usually came when we were at home (and it was not often!) and our baby was sleeping - in case they did the cleaning - it was just a towels changing and few minutes of floor sweeping - that's it. So, we had to do cleaning ourselves which was not very comfortable with tools which were in the apartment. The bed was very uncomfortable. But the worst was Wi-Fi - we had to pay 1 EUR per day and get around 0.1 Mbps speed, and signal was normal only in one room.

Review 57：Staff was very kind and helpful! They did all the best. Shuttle service was also great, especially one of drivers (bold one, the other one is angry and not helpful, far from good service)

Review 58：Décor was out of date, but sufficiently functional, but the twin beds in bedroom was like a rock. Staff member seemed to be in a rush to bring us to the apartment and we had to figure out how to use some things for our self since she left without explaining how to use the kitchen appliances and the A/C. The stove had one electric burner and the other three had gas burners which we later figured out that it had no igniter (had to buy matches).

Review 59：A very charming traditional styled Portuguese apartment that is very spacious. Only 15 minute walk from center of Lagos and beaches. Many local supermarkets near to the holiday rental apartments, one just across from the entrance to the complex.

Review 71：this was our 3rd trip to lagos. its friendly, safe + welcoming. easy access to buses + train. took another couple who had never been abroad before. thought it was a nice starter for them. they enjoyed the experience.

Review 72：Very poor wifi. You can buy vouchers but nobody of the visitors had any receive inside the villa's nore on the balcony/terrace. You have to go outside and walk towards the reception. The receptionists don't care about the wifi because as they said: "that's your problem, you can get your voucher back, it's up to you..." ("excellent" service) Poor kitchen utility (no proper knife and bad pots and pans). No sponge or cleaningproducts available. Very very hard couch.

Vilabranca's shuttle bus could take you to another beach ( Mos? )and to the center as well.

Review 118：• Breakfasts are only served from 10am. This really does limit what you can do in the morning. We had planned on using this service but decided on the first day to buy our fresh breads and supplies at the adjacent supermarket. I do not recall seeing anyone eating breakfast in bar area ( it is not a formal restaurant, more like a cafe ).• The general appearance of our apartment could be improved. I know the Portuguese economy has suffered recently – there is some evidence of abandoned apartments and construction sites near the beaches but for a small outlay the management could at least make these apartments more presentable. For example, a number of door handles in ours were faulty – the airing balcony one actually came off in your hand. The door banged continuously when it was windy because it would not lock. The kitchen light switch had exposed wiring. Taps dripped continuously – what a waste of resources considering the arid climate. The bathroom door and frame had rotten and damaged wood at the bottom. For a small outlay these could all be easily rectified. The walls themselves could also be repainted as they were stained and discoloured in places and you could see where previous light fittings had been.• There are two tennis courts at Vilbranca but they are closed. There appeared to be large weeds growing on them. This is a shame as they could easily be opened and rented to guests as an extra service and revenue stream.• A bar service at pool number 2.• In our kitchen we were unable to get the gas hob to work, and resorted to using the single electric ring once. It would be helpful if instructions for the gas could be provided – for safety.• Noise ! Our apartment was located on the first floor above the reception. The guests in the apartment above us were extremely inconsiderate. At 2am on the first night we arrived we were awoken by scraping furniture, laughter and loud voices that went on and on.

Review 119：• The apartments are in an excellent location in a residential area away from the town centre. Upon arrival we were given a map with the walking route highlighted but I would recommend taking the opportunity to go direct into the town as you then get to see some of the attractions you would otherwise miss. The walk itself is about 15 minutes to the main street – downhill. Aim for the mini-golf. The return journey does involve a slight climb, but unless your party has elderly people or very young children the walk is a great way to see the town and also exercise after some nice meals.• There is a free courtesy bus to two of the local beaches and the town centre with fixed times during the day.• There are two excellent beaches - Dona Ana and Port Mos within easy walking distance – again if you are reasonably fit. The courtesy bus visits them.• We had a great balcony with a good open outlook – by virtue of the situation of our apartment.• There is an excellent mini-supermarket directly opposite the gates of Vilabranca. They bake bread, rolls and croissants through the day which are very nice. All the usual groceries and supplies are available at very reasonable prices. Especially the wine and beer ! We found it an inexpensive way to sometimes sit in our balcony with food purchased from here for a light lunch. The staff were always pleasant and spoke good English.• Other supermarkets are nearby – one is situated about a further minute past the above one. Another one is beside a roundabout about 5 minutes walk away. On one cool morning we walked about 10 minutes to a UK-sized supermarket which had a fantastic range of produce in it. Obviously if you shop there you will need to consider getting a taxi back with bags.• The apartments were very spacious – we had a two bedroom one with an open lounge dining area, a kitchen, entrance hall, two bathrooms, sitting balcony and airing balcony. Both bathrooms had tap-supplied showers and bidets.

Review 120：Beds and rooms are quite basic but all you need and the price was so affordable can't expect anything else.

Review 121：Excellent location, convenient shuttle bus to and from centre and to and from beaches. Gorgeous setting with little paved stone pavements and lovely flower bushes that lead round to the apartments. Stunning pool and loungers, very peaceful. Staff accommodating. Little shop nearby which I loved, very friendly staff and everything you need. (Two/three minute walk away) Great setting. Very affordable.

Review 127：Vilabranca is conveniently located a very short drive away from Porto de Mos and Praia Dona Ana. There was nowhere to eat at Dona Ana, but Porto de Mos has the lovely 'Anotonios' which the driver from Vilabranca helpfully told us about. The staff were SO friendly and accomodating. They all had a very pleasant manner and did all that they could to help with anything we asked. Even when it was not time for a shuttle to go to the beach, it only cost 5 euros in total to get there so it wasn't a bother. The rooms are a great size. If you have five in a room, the pull out couch is very comfortable. The pools are very clean and there is a second pool which is definitely worth locating if you want a more quiet area.

Review 128：The cleaning could be done more often (or maybe just daily garbage removal would suffice from this point of view). Also, as others reviewers here, I can't understand why there isn't any dishwasher provided, because many tourist buy it and leave it... The alternative is to eat only non-oil food, meaning the dishes can be washed with water only. The taxi service is a bit over-priced, considering they do not provide a receipt for this.

Review 131：We spent 5 days at Vilanranca and everything was amazing...staff, apartaments, swiming pools and the bar. Good location to city center and the diferents beaches. We did everything walking....GREAT....many thanks

Review 132：As others have stated beds were a bit hard with only 1 pillow. Also noise from people in room above due to furniture scraping on tiled floors.

Review 133：The size of the apartment was very good with a large balcony due to corner position. Lounge furniture was very nice and TV with several English channels.

Review 134：1) The extremely uncomfortable beds and apartment furniture. We woke up sore and unrested, which can be frustrating when trying to relax on vacation. As I reread reviews more thoroughly, many mention the uncomfortable beds. It was just as difficult to unwind on the couches. Plus the TV signal kept cutting out. 2) You have to pay for internet, and it was inconsistent, even after they had people come fix the connection. Plus we had to pay 12 Euro for each device we wanted to use. 3) Costumer Service. Within the first hour of our arrival, we noted the discomfort of the beds/couches and poor internet. We addressed this with the front desk and asked to change our reservation, as we wanted to change hotels (since we were to stay for an entire week). We had to wait until the next morning because there was no manager working. When she was called the next morning, her only solution was to change to a pool view room that had 'better internet connection'. However this didn't address our main concerns, and she kept referring to the policy stated on Booking.com. She was very inflexible. Since we had to pay at check-in, before even seeing the room, our hands were tied. The manager wouldn't budge at all and we felt this was unfair. Not the best way to start our vacation.

Review 135：My friend and I stayed for 6 nights. For location it was OK because we spent most of our time on the beaches and took advantage of the bus transportation provided. The hotel is a 20-25 min walk from the city center. We did this every day. The apartments are spacious.

Review 137：Nice pool, not too loaded. Big apartment. Close to shop, 15 minute walk to the center and also too buautifull beaches Dona Ana and Camillo.

Review 138：This was my fourth time staying at Vilabranca and would recommend same -however I felt they could do with a fresh dab of paint and a general tidy-up on the tennis courts etc - they just looked a bit tired this year !!

Review 139：Have two teenage boys and they just loved the pool area with snooker table etc
