Reviews for Broadwater Beach Resort
Review 1:We stayed in two seperate units, the first one was three bedroomed and didn't feel very homely. The two bedroom more comfortable and actually had two bathrooms which was great.
Review 2:The location was great and we made the most of the pool and beach access.
Review 3:Our villa did not have any cooling/heating in the bedrooms. On 38 degree days, it was extremely warm. When opening the doors the people upstairs were extremely noisy until about 1am on the Monday night. Our kids ended up sleeping in the main area where the air cond was. We think that the bedrooms needed a fan or air con. Being a little bit picky we booked for four people and there were two forks and three outside chairs! (although housekeeping/reception rectified that for us). Would of also been good to have some steak knives in the Villa and a clothes line in the courtyard to hang beach towels on rather than people having to hang everything over walls or balconies With the cleaning of the unit, when we went into our unit, there was a strong smell of bleach. There were some minor items such as some crumbs of snack food behind the couch, (so the couch had not been moved out from the wall to vacuum, the light fittings needed to be cleaned to remove the bugs, doors really needed to be cleaned to remove scuff marks and on the outside there was cigarette butts in the courtyard near the aircon unit and spider webs under the eves that looked like it had been there for a while. The games room unfortunately was filled "timezone" type machines, that you had to pay per play. It would be great if this room was converted into an area kids or teenagers could relax in (perhaps modernise like many resorts and have some comfortable chairs, a play station, toy area for younger children
Review 4:We enjoyed the location and the resort. We also loved going out and seeing the native animals that were about and utilised the swimming pool and tennis courts. We think if the minor items in relation to the cooling and cleaning were rectified, we would look at returning.
Review 5:The accommodation was not great. Only had aircon in main bedroom not in other bedroom. Only had one small wardrobe which was not adequate for four people. Property needs modernising. Outside pool needs to be cleaned more often.
Review 6:In good location. Had good amenities and liked the bar area and close proximity to beach.
Review 7:The tennis villas are not child friendly , no latches or dead bolts on any doors going outside and a 2 year old can easily get outside to the car park . No gates for outdoor courtyards .Wouldn't recommend for someone with young children . Light switches falling apart and toilet smelled like sewerage . Needed a good clean , outdoors covered in cobwebs and very basic kitchen utensils for a fully equiped kitchen, maybe bring your own . The shower was designed for small people under 6ft.
Review 8:Good location and pools
Review 9:The trollies were a shambles for getting our luggage from the car park to the beach side room (which wasn't beachside). Rooms are a little dated to be called a resort.
Review 10:The staff were very friendly, pool and spa was great for everyone. As was the spa bath in the room.
Review 11:The only complaint I had was the crockery and kitchen utilises had to cleaned before using as they hadn't been washed properly - I also washed the drain in the dishwasher as it had food particulars in it and was yucky.
Review 12:Location to beach
Review 13:No Wi-Fi just like other busselton resort along the beach. Crazy sky high price during Christmas to New year time.
Review 14:If Abbey breach resort is the first choice, this would be the second. Like the tennis court. Good cooking ware.
Review 15:The Chalet could get some more maintenance. We had a few minor maintenance issues. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't have the room service as stated.
Review 16:Staff was friendly. Although there was a mix up with the booking they managed to fix it.
Review 17:Renovations to pool are were unfortunate, but understandable. Wouldn't have been able to afford it without the special deal. Frying pan really needed to be replaced, Teflon was flaking off into food. We are stict with food safety and this was very unappealing.
Review 18:Grounds are beautiful, staff were happy and helpful, room was comfortable and stay was very relaxing.
Review 19:The resort is dated and is need of a paint job. There were cob webs in our appartment and it wasn't serviced daily so it felt grubby quickly with two small kids. The worst part was there is no storage for our clothes so we lived out of our suit cases for a week. The fridge was tiny so we had to shop daily and there was no freezer space. There was also no pantry so we had food items all over the kitchen bench which was very frustrating and made the place look cluttered. Pretty disappointing. We did have a good view of the pool from our balcony so there was one plus.
Review 20:We really liked the location and the Stilts restaurant next to the resort.
Review 21:The furniture in the sitting room seems to be of poor quality. The sliding door to the main bedroom was not working properly.
Review 22:The location is very good and so is the compound.
Review 23:Facilities were poor, couldnt use dryer because too high, bed was two singles together but had hard rods through the middle made it every uncomfortable, bathroom & kitchen were dirty, utensils were very used and out dated, pillows you couldnt even call pillows we very soft all disparted very over used, narrow stairs made it difficult to access the top bedroom, master bedroom door wouldnt lock, outdoor setting was covered in webs and spiders! refused to use it, outdoor pool was filled with boatman (a swimming bug)
Review 24:Close distance to the beach, restaurant near by which was nice but over priced
Review 25:I liked everything but needs updating and maintained tad better. We came there about 10years ago, and seems exactly the same. The outdoor furniture was falling apart, but the Webber was great. The pub was a bit close, should probably be a bit separate from the family villas, became noisy.
Review 26:The location.
Review 27:Spotted a rat running outside one of the units. There should have been some sort of arrangement with the restaurant that would surely have benefitted both organisations commercially. Signs were non-existient on the main road and reception sign was obscured by trees
Review 28:Nice layout with the loft room separating main bedroom
Review 29:Firstly I had a free room upgrade which was an awesome surprise. Massive apartment to myself which was so luxurious. Love the possums frolicking everywhere. Convenient having Stilts do take away as I could eat in the comfort of my room whilst watching a movie.
Review 30:The fact that there was construction going on. The kitchen was slightly lacking in appliances and utensils.
Review 31:Seeing the dolphin just in front of the resort! The beach was beautiful. Proximity to wineries, markets and the Chocolate Factory. Lovely atmosphere in the Beer Garden. Fantastic friendly staff!
Review 32:The room was very spacious with everything you would need was there. The bed was extremely comfortable. Great parking. Loved the luggage trolleys. The whole resort felt private and secluded
Review 33:Rooms are quite dated and tired looking, rooms were clean but windows and general outside housekeeping were quite poor. The inside pool was still being repaired the weekend we arrived but we were able to use pool at adjoining property. For a two night stay with young kids it was a nice family break and close enough to Busso that we could cycle in to town to cheer the ironman athletes on.
Review 34:Great staff and location
Review 35:Staff was incredibly pleasant, the resort itself was very peaceful and tranquil. Very nice pools, rooms and ensuites. Very safe and enjoyable I Would love to come back next time I'm back.
Review 36:Because of elderly mother in law, distance from the car to accommodation was a bit of an issue - otherwise not a problem
Review 37:Excellent service from staff in addressing our ground floor requirements to accommodate elderly Mother in Law. Could not have been more helpful.
Review 38:The room smelled strongly of bleach, it was over powering, had to keep the bathroom door closed. Could hear people moving around upstairs
Review 39:it was quite comfortable and clean.
Review 40:The pillows were shocking. We both ended up with sore necks and back. We will take our own pillows next time..
Review 41:It was really nice to stay at Broadwater
Review 42:Room and surrounds tired looking. Spider webs in ceiling corners and on patio furniture.
Review 43:Nice location near the beach. Stilts bar was a winner for food and happy hour.
Review 44:Would have liked to have a light blanket rather than the doona which was too hot - but having only a sheet then was a bit too cool.
Review 45:That it was so quiet. Could not hear anyone unless they were outside.
Review 46:taps could have harder washers in them as you had to turn many times to stop dripping.
Review 47:great bed for sleeping and area was not too noisy and was large enough for us. Great bar and food. Close 200M to Shops.
Review 48:Should pay more attention to cleanliness around the resort particularly at the patio lounging areas in each unit.
Review 49:Hot and cold water piping especially the show not working. Its either hot or cold.
Review 50:A few things, our sheet had a rip in it, the air-con didn't work at all, no in house cleaning meant I had to buy shampoo, conditioner, coffee, milk and we had to use beach towels as outer bathroom towels didn't dry in the bathroom. maintenance is needed in the bathroom.
Review 51:The staff were very nice and gave us a balcony room as I asked for.
Review 52:Some curtains stained and hanging off rails. Flywire door fallen off. Floor marked and worn. Kitchen basin stained. No views.
Review 53:Nice roomy villa with nice grounds
Review 54:The property was tired the facilities dated. The gardens smelled of sewage due to the use of grey water. My sliding glass balcony doors could not be locked. Would not be in a hurry to return.
Review 55:Staircase to loft apartment was very narrow and steep. Wouldn't be suitable for little children Indoor pool closed.
Review 56:Loved loft apartment- was great for our kids 6 and 9. Loved spa bath.
Review 57:The indoor pool closed for maintence which was the main reason we booked, although there was an alternative indoor pool it was a lot further from our unit
Review 58:Decided to stay the night on the way back to perth from Margeret River to relax. Only to be up to 4am with people having a party next room. So paying $135 to stay the night was a joke. Didn't get the sleep we needed to keep traveling.
Review 59:The Spa was awesome. And having free washing facilities was very handy. The bar was fabulous.
Review 60:The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. The toilets were dirty and had a large build up of bugs sitting in the bottom of the bowl. Upstairs bed looked as if there was some sort of dirt on them. Old couch was a bit rough and dirty. For that kind of money and my expectations i at least expect a clean room
Review 61:- balcony needs some cleaning - sweeping, and rid the spider webs - only master bedrooms have 4 pillows, wish there're 2 pillows at each of the bed too at the loft
Review 62:clean kitchen and utensils
Review 63:The room smelt mouldy and the furnishings were tired and need replacing. I stayed in the same room (room 49) a few years ago and it smelt damp then, clearly the problem has not been fixed.
Review 64:Location on the beach is fantastic
Review 65:One morning, a male kitchen staff member stood in the carpark near the front entrance of the resort talking to another staff member through a small window to the right of reception. He spoke loudly and used highly offensive language which made me feel uncomfortable. He looked across at me but did not offer any apology. Luckily my kids were not present at the time.
Review 66:Our apartment was spacious and well appointed. We loved the indoor and outdoor pools and the tennis courts. The gardens/grounds were well maintained. The proximity to the beach was also great. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We had a really lovely stay.
Review 67:We found the staff in the Stilts restaurant to be very unprofessional, unhelpful, and disorganised. This was disappointing as you paid top dollar on their menu, and it's not peak season.
Review 68:Location, close to a lot of amenities, shops, beach, also having an indoor pool( that's heated) was great.
Review 69:Really poor for travellers when you arrive down in Bussellton at 8:30 pm the hotel kitchen is closed and wont feed you anything and the whole of Bussellton closes at 9pm. We had no food ... Red Rooster for dinner which wasnt very nice and all takeaway places close at 10pm, nowhere to even buy a loaf of bread - trap for first time visitors
Review 70:Nothing, everything was good
Review 71:It was the friendly ness, the comfort n the kids loved it overall relaxing n fun thank you for everything c u soon again the tranter family.
Review 72:Beautiful surroundings, wonderful for the kids, lots to do, great indoor pool and great space in the accomodation and felt the privacy even though there were a lot of people staying there.
Review 73:We chose this resort, because they advertise a spa and heated pool, we where disappointed because both where not very warm at all. We also felt the resort was looking very tired
Review 74:Lovely location, so close to the beach. Great to have a indoor & outdoor pool as well as tennis courts to enjoy. Our loft unit was spacious and well set out. The spa bath in the unit was a wonderful bonus.
Review 75:I liked the fact there is a nice accommodation for a big family such as ours and with comparably more affordable price than its neighbors. The beach is just 5 min walk away (the place is not a beach front property) and also close to shops.
Review 76:The restaurant is separate from hotel and we were advised by the hotel reception to book if we were interested in having a meal there. We went in to the restaurant to make booking for breakfast the night before and were told it was quiet and should be ok without booking. In the morning we were asked if we had a booking and I explained the previous conversation with the gentleman attending the bar. The Lady was clearly not happy that we had not made a booking and I had to explain again that we had made every effort to do so the previous night. I was left feeling at fault by the way we were spoken to despite our attempt to do the right thing. In my opinion it was clearly an internal issue that should not have been passed on to a customer. The food was delicious and the table service delughtful. Just make sure your booking is recorded!
Review 77:Lovely Staff at the hotel, facilities were great and accommodation was fantastic.
Review 78:TV in main bedroom would have been good, sofas r really hard n uncomfortable.
Review 79:Location is awesome, next to restaurant, park n stroll to beach fabulous spot w family we have a 5 & 7 yr old! Indoor pool really warm too!
Review 80:Couldn't enjoy restaurant as it was very busy with outsiders , the resort need a refurbishment , couldn't enjoy the tennis as it was very old , my own rooms were not enough clean as I had to spray insect repellant on the very first night and there was cob webs in some places.
Review 81:The heated indoor pool, spa in room, location , space .
Review 82:Old air con only in the bedroom Shower above the spa !i. It would have been better European style shower with the hose.
Review 83:Comfy beds sufficient kitchenette
Review 84:The spa unit in the apartment above us was extremely loud and needed some maintenance. We mentioned this the day after the people above moved in and they offered to move us but as it was our last night it would have been to much hassle for us. I feel that some sort of discount however small would have been the more appropriate gesture. Also the kitchen facilities seemed like an afterthought. For example the frypan was very small and of poor quality making its use a bit unpleasant. The spare blanket in our room was stained and torn. When I took it back I was given another one which was not but it was the most awful synthetic type of fabric. We ended up buying a nice woollen one from a local Op Shop.
Review 85:The lush tropical-like setting close to the beach. The apartments where very nicely set out and decorated. Although I feel that sometimes too much attention is given to how things look rather than the 'little things', ie see other comments
Review 86:front office staff should have been in an accountant's offfice, too young, too inexperienced and not mature enough or been around enough to 'get' hospitality
Review 87:Room size excellent
Review 88:Parking was a long way from the room, it was dark and wet when we arrived and all the lights on the paths were out. The room was not made up to our request.
Review 89:Back courtyard of apartment needs cleaning up. Full of weeds and cigarette butts on the ground.
Review 90:Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good facilities.
Review 91:We felt the Air Conditioning unit was quite noisy therefore disturbing , and you can hear the neighbouring water running within the apartment
Review 92:We have been to Broadwater Beach resort many times so it is very familiar and comfortable for us
Review 93:The bedrooms were really cold, not enough heating for winter stays. Our first villa had several dead insects on the bedside table and live ants all along the windowsill, we went back to reception and they moved us straight away no problem, which was lovely.
Review 94:The facilities for children was really good.
Review 95:Breakfast only available on weekends in off season. Self catering facilities basic - toaster needs replacing.
Review 96:Location within 3 minutes walking distance to the beach. Quiet, limited passing traffic.
Review 97:We could hear the people next to us banging round all the time.
Review 98:We liked the friendly staff. They were very welcoming and helpful. We liked the place very much and would happily stay there again. It was also nice to be able to have a swim in the heated pool in the middle of winter. =)
Review 99:Would be better if had free games for children on pool table or table tennis . A rooe on the kidy section of swimming pool as it opens out into the deep end of the pool. Where parents cant stand uf had to get a child if they fell in
Review 100:bed was past its best, air con was noisy, and overall facility was tired and in need of maintenance
Review 101:good facilities but tired and in need of an upgrade
Review 102:The doors do not have key lock on the inside- just a push button to lock. My son kept getting out if I wasn't in the same room. Do not recommend if you have small children.
Review 103:Very close to the beach, great location!
Review 104:The lady that worked in the reception was the loveliest person I have even been served by just so welcoming and friendly made our stay very enjoyable
Review 105:BBQs were very average front office staff and custimer service lacked enthusiasm (bar one or two)
Review 106:Location activities to keep kids occupied ie indoor heated pool games room playground beach access bike paths
Review 107:Unfortunately we had problems with drainage in the bathroom. Water backed up in the bathroom sink snd when we drained spa water came up out of floor drain and flooded bathroom floor.
Review 108:Great location, facilities and unit were clean
Review 109:No WiFi and phone coverage (Telstra) was very hit and miss so wasn't the best place to stay when we had to get work completed in the evenings but if we'd been holidaying and relaxing it would have been great.
Review 110:Room was well equipped and clean. The gated security to resort and carpark is a comfort. Facilities like indoor & outdoor pools, games room, BBQ's etc looked great although we didn't utilise on this trip.
Review 111:Some of the dishes in the cupboard were dirty. Was very cold. Would benefit from extra heaters.
Review 112:Was very spacious and family friendly. Great pool facilities.
Review 113:Court yard weeds a plenty, dirty chairs, towels changed every 4 days is not hygienic, rooms cold
Review 114:Indoor pool, games room for kids, loft for kids, spa size, dishwasher
Review 115:We were there with a small child, and despite the fact that after 10 it is supposed to be quiet there was a loud (very loud) party in one of the apartment nearby. Of course I understand parties but it would have been appreciated if the staff first said something to them after midnight and if they would have paid attention and placed us (with the small kid) far away from the loud group.
Review 116:very nice complex. Gorgeous opportunities for long walking/riding along the beach as there is a nice path. IGA very close.
Review 117:We couldn't see the beach or the ocean from our 'beachfront apartment'.
Review 118:We stayed in a Beachfront apartment & although the website advised that the apartment is not located right at the beach due to a grassed area, I still thought we'd have a view of the beach or the ocean but it wasn't to be :(. The apartment was roomy however and very well equipped with plenty of seating, comfortable beds, cooking and washing facilities including washing powder for the washing machine. It was May when we were there so a bit chilly to use the outdoor pool but our kids (3, 2, and 6 months) loved the indoor heated pool. We would stay there again.
Review 119:Room and resort were a bit tired looking and grubby but we did go just after a long weekend when they were booked out and at the end of the main tourist season. Some of the tennis courts could so with a make over but we were able to use the nice court everytime we wanted to have a game.
Review 120:Swimming pools, tennis court and games room kept the kids amused. Reception staff were friendly.
Review 121:Broken glass, dodgy power connections and switches, the tennis courts were barely serviceable and seriously, who charges for WiFi in common areas anymore? It's in serious need of a makeover..
Review 122:Location is great.
Review 123:Although professional the chap on the counter was not friendly (a smile goes a long way), same for the lady that took our order for dinner (other staff fine) We had to park our car and walk down to the room. If you have cases without wheels expect a workout. I cannot believe assistance is not offered to get to your rooms. The staff have little wheely carts to get around so I am not sure why this cannot be offered to guests at check in and check out. Could not send my parents there they would not make it back up the hill with their bags.
Review 124:loved the location, room size, pool (pool intimate but nice) and the young girl that served us in the restaurant was lovely.
Review 125:The room was in need of a lot of maintenace, very few dishes & only 1 pot to cook in which made it very hard for a family, playground outside the property, no aircon upstairs and blinds were broken so could not get any fresh air
Review 126:The pools were great, the room was clean, the grounds were well maintained
Review 127:Confirmation letter had us in room 95, which was requested, only to find when checking in that we didn't get the room which deflated us all from the start. Letter should not state something that can not be delivered as it gave us false hopes. Also, bathroom contained mould and half of our towels were already used when we checked in and had just been folded neatly and left on the end of the bed for us to re-use. We stayed in Jan, loved it and thats why we were keen to come back but after this experience, I don't think we will come back again sadly.
Review 128:We were in unit 57. Smoke alarm kept going off for no reason. Even in the middle of the night. The toilet had a bad smell when we arrived.....definitely need to do something about the ventilation
Review 129:Kids loved it, especially the indoor pool and games room. Unit was great.
Review 130:Not enough utensils in the kitchen.
Review 131:We liked the facilities, indoor pool tennis courts. The position of the Garden Villa with balcony, kids loved the loft bedroom, riding their scooters around the resort and also the beach close by.
Review 132:Our only toilet really stunk. We kept cleaning it however suggests it needs to be replaced along with the Lino.
Review 133:It was comfortable and reasonable value for money. There should be free activities for the kids.
Review 134:This was our second stay at the resort. Our 3 bedroom apartment was large, airy & comfortable. The tennis courts, pool area & easy access to the beach were our favorite highlights. A wonderful place for families, I'm sure we'll be back again
