Reviews for Villas Arqueologicas Teotihuacan

Review 1:They used Raid like air freshener ... you couldn't escape from it ... and I don't do well around toxins. Avoid the restaurant. It took 3 reminders and a half hour to get my breakfast latte. And we were the only customers. It is a Mexican hotel so there is nothing comfortable about the beds. No internet in the rooms.

Review 2:Location is excellent, very near to the pyramids. It was very clean and well appointed. Shower was really nice. Good for a couple. Few others were there so it was quiet. The layout of the room was typical Mexican and very functional.

Review 3:Very similar hotel to its ‘twin’ near Chichén Itzá. The service in the restaurant is very friendly and they serve fine Mexican meals. The entrance gives a view on the archaeological site, although it’s still a walk of about 20 minutes to the first entrance gate of Teotihuacan. If you want to return by bus to México D.F. you need the bus station at entrance 2. This gate is still further away from the hotel, but we had the luck that the hotel manager, who likes a chat with his guests, offered us a free ride to this bus stop.

Review 4:I did not think that having to pay the bill BEFORE I actually saw the room was a standard practice. It is the first time that I have ever been asked to pay a bill at check-in.

Review 5:I liked the proximity to the pyramids.

Review 6:wifi do not reach the room so well. But if you sit outside, the mosquito will attack you.

Review 7:so close to the pyramid, nice restaurant, good room with swimming pool in the middle of the hof. Very nice staff,

Review 8:When you sit down at the restaurant, they bring you fruit and juice before you order breakfast. I thought this was complimentary. When I went to check out, the hotel wanted to charge me for this despite not ordering it. Review your bill carefullly.

Review 9:Villas Arqueologicas is a perfect location if you want to get to Teotihuacan early. It is about a 10 minute walk to Puerto 1. The hotel used to be a Club Med and has all the amenities of a modern, US hotel. Despite a last minute booking at the least expensive price, I was given a suite. It also had a nice restaurant.

Review 10:I just checked out from the hotel and was so sad to leave because thestaff was soooo nice and really went above and beyond to help me.Victoria was wonderful in telling me where to go and what to see. Pacoat the front desk was just all around awesome and the waiter Isiral Iwill miss the most. We chatted a lot about the Aztecs and history andwhatever else after having so much tequila. The Aztec Ceramony on thehotel grounds was beautiful. As far as the food and drinks.....REALLYReally good! I will be returning hopefully the end of the year withfriends and maybe my mom.

Review 11:Nothing!

Review 12:We had a great stay here! Pool was amazing. Staff were great. Best place to see the ruins because you get to wake up early and get to the ruins before the tourists come in! Will stay again.

Review 13:The restaurant was overpriced. We got up early to visit the pyramids but we couldn't get coffee before 7am.

Review 14:The comfortable room, tastefully decorated. The closeness to the archeological site. The pool, although it was too cold to swim.

Review 15:We were a group of 3, very pleased that we were offered an adjoining room instead of a cot. Excellent location for the pyramids , but be aware that the artisan store is Very.. Over priced. Food was good, the pool was not available due to repairs. Great place for a family.

Review 16:Teotihuacan opens at 7 am but breakfast is available from 8 am only, which largely negates the location advantage of the hotel, unless you are willing to visit the site on an empty stomach (which we did)! There is no food or drink vending machines either.

Review 17:It's the closest hotel to the Teotihuacan pyramids, only 10-15 minutes' walk, so you can be there before the crowd. The room is nice and comfortable.

Review 18:Food, restaurant was very poor. The quality of food bud. Baño de Tabascan, really I fail because I tried it without know it. It was unpleasant and very dirty experience. It is a traditional bath but I was looking for a relaxing experience too and it was a ritual, in a dirty place without cleaning with a really unpleasant atmosphere. I did in family and we stopped it before.

Review 19:Location was excellent to visit the piramids.

Review 20:Shower very slow to drain with a shallow basin.

Review 21:Close to all, lovely atmosphere and excellent restaurant.

Review 22:Pooh internetd

Review 23:1114527328319Very pleasant place. Clean pool

Review 24:This hotel is quite and peaceful to stay for vacation

Review 25:Reception staff needs more training

Review 26:Quiet serene location

Review 27:Didn't get a receipt for our booking possibly due to old swiping card system!!!!!!

Review 28:location

Review 29:wifi sporatic

Review 30:nice property

Review 31:Nothing, all was fabulous!

Review 32:The location is excellent for Teotihuacan site. Staff very attentive and friendly, hotel clean and comfortable, good food.

Review 33:beds

Review 34:Pool area

Review 35:Location location location

Review 36:niente

Review 37:Please check the floor in the shower stalls. Mine was a bit slippery.

Review 38:This was my fifth? Sixth? Stay at Villa Arq Teotihuacan. I would notstay anywhere else, unless this hotel was full up. Friendly andefficient staff, good food, nice rooms, great location...what moreis needed?

Review 39:Not a big deal, but the pool was dirty the day I was there, which was a bit dissapointing, since it would have been nice to take swim after spending a day in the dust of Teotihuacan ruins.

Review 40:Very clean and comfortable. Amazing value for what you get. The restaurant is great as well (we had breakfast and lunch there). All staff is very friendly and accomodating. Definitely coming back soon!

Review 41:Stuff speaks very poor english. there were some misunderstanding about payments.

Review 42:location is perferct, the style is coorelating with surrounding nature. parking is comfortable.

Review 43:- Smelly bed sheets- breakfast is a scam: we asked for different scramble eggs (with vegetables, with sausage etc...) and we all got the same scramble eggs with nothing else than eggs. We complained by showing the menu and they pretended that they don't understand!

Review 44:- Location is the best if you want to visit Tehoticuacan in the morning to avoid the crowd

Review 45:Restaurant staff, though very friendly, courteous & cheerful, are painfully slow & need to be better trained - to lay plates/cutlery before bringing food for example & to carry more than 1 thing at a time!

Review 46:Perfect location at side of archaeo. site & good gardens/poolside to chill out after visiting site. The layout at all Villa Arqueologicas is the same - we loved the style of it. The hotel had a quiet, relaxed atmosphere during our visit which suited us well.

Review 47:Breakfast is very basic.

Review 48:We loved this hotel, location is perfect if you want to visit the ruins first thing in the morning ! The pool and courtyard with very nice planting was fantastic and very well looked after. The staff was very friendly. We also stayed at Uxmal and Chichen Itza, but Teotihuacan is the one we really liked.

Review 49:The place is very isolated, so if you are looking for great nightlifethis is not the place for you.

Review 50:It was beautiful and was very isolated. The pyramids could be seen fromthe hotel. Many restaurants wee within hiking distance. Very quiet.Inner courtyard had a large shallow swimming pool, gardens, dining, lounges for tanning. The exterior had a large childrens playground. Thenearby Reina Animal safari was great fun. La Gruta restaurant is withinwalking distance and is inside a cave. Sunday has a native culturaldance show on stage there. The road is Cobblestone so walking is morelike hiking.

Review 51:1. No shuttle service to airport, despite claims to contrary. 2. No heated swimming pool, despite claims to contrary. 3. Staff have very little English, despite claims to contrary. 4. Restaurant is not as advertised, focuses on generic food, some Mexican, not French as advertised. 5. Limited shopping at the hotel and nearby.

Review 52:Only a short walk from main gate to Teotihucan national historic site. Pleasant ambience, very quiet, away from main town. Food good but not spectacular. Clean and well-managed.

Review 53:It was very quiet when we were there. However, the hotel is set up to cater to events and tour groups. Also, being close to Mexico city it will probably attract the weekend crowd. So it's you just might encounter a wedding. If that happens, join the party and have fun!

Review 54:We were pleasantly surprised by the Villa Arqueologica Teotihuacan. In the past the chain has had reputation for its run down facilities. However, their Teotihuacan property has been recently renovated and the rooms, though small, are clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds and public areas are beautiful and a delight after a day of wandering the nearby archeological site. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is good but basic (but then you won't be here the dining experience anyway). As in many Mexican hotels, there is WiFi in the public areas but not in the rooms.

Review 55:Directly at archeological side. Romms and facility absolutely alright, restaurant also ok.

Review 56:Music playing at front door.

Review 57:Convenience for visiting ruins.

Review 58:WiFi in room had poor, almost non existing reception.

Review 59:Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms, best position for Teotihuacan, 10 min.walk to gate no.1.

Review 60:todo muy bien.. super ubicacion.

Review 61:We loved this hotel. It is safe, Clean, Close to the pyramids and has a lot to offer when it comes to food and SPA facilitites. Well Worth it!

Review 62:The hotel charges you at ex-rate of peso to USD which is 10-20% higher than market and official rates. We considered it as way of cheating

Review 63:the food in the restaurant was only average

Review 64:the service was very friendly at the front desk

Review 65:So close to Teotihuacan.

Review 66:Wi Fi only worked in the lobby area.
