Review 1：The host was not really friendly; she was surprised that we arrived despite our previous booking and she did not have prepared things. E.g. the refrigerator, which needed 24 hrs to cool down was not installed. Basic information about the area was not given by the host and a couple of those given in booking.com did not accord to reality. E.g. the river (for swimming) should be lokated in 7 minutes walking distance: it was at least 30 minutes away, if you found the way (not given by the host). The toilet chair in the very small bathroom was broken. The announced `self-made cake´ was bought in the supermarket. Scrambled eggs were cold but supposedly made fresh every morning. Derscriptions to find the location were not sufficiently given.

Review 2：Nice area, interestingly decorated rooms, although simple and in parts not too functional. Breakfast was good but e.g. orange juice was not refilled when emptied by previous guests. The room was cleaned every day. Good bed. Nice natural park with swimming possibilities in the river Merse (not at all as nearby, as described in the home-page...)

Review 3：Beautiful location! The house was spectacular with very clean rooms, an equipped kitchen to cook in and beautiful outdoors. There is a very delicious restaurant just down the road or you can go to the local store and cook. Highly recommend!

Review 5：Barbara is fantastic. The building itself is quirky and the rooms are spacious. Excellent location, short walk into Rosia for a supermarket, close to great restaurants in Stigliano and Brenna. Just a short 20min drive (or we chose the hour cycle) to Siena

Review 6：This is a beautiful, sensitively restored Tuscan farmhouse. Paintings and pottery by the owner adorn the property. The 'Lovers' Room' has a beautiful four poster bed. The bedrooms are very spacious. It was one of the best breakfasts we had in Tuscany and included homemade cakes and jam. The outdoor seating is very pretty and there is a small pool to relax in. Barbara is very kind and welcoming. Make sure you visit!

Review 8：The owner, Barbara, is very friendly. The place was really quiet. Our daughters, aged 8 and 11, fell in love with the owner's dog and cats. The breakfast was very good, including several different fruits, jams, bread and cake. We were a bit worried about this place not being equipped with air conditionning, but we had a fan and the temperature was comfortable. We had an adorable stay at the Colombaio and we would not hesitate to go back and to recommand it to someone else.

Review 11：The room was charming and filled with personal art. We enjoyed the common areas and the beautiful outdoor setting/lounging area covered with flowers/ivy. The view of the surrounding area made us truly feel like we were in the Tuscan countryside. We enjoyed meeting Butler, the puppy.

Review 12：The room was very dark, cold and dusty. In the shower the stream was spraying all around. One door in the shower was broken. The mattress felt like wet and wasn't comfortable. there was with Internet, hot water, and electricity.

Review 14：I loved everything about my stay in this gorgeous farmhouse in the beautiful Siena countryside. Barbara is a wonderful, gracious host and her breakfast spread was simply delicious. The rooms are traditional farmhouse rooms; comfortable, clean and very inviting. If you are looking for a tranquil escape, this is it! Within walking distance of the farmhouse is the best restaurant I dined at throughout my travels of Italy. My only regret is I didn't stay longer but I will definitely return.

Review 17：A relaxing stay away from the crowds of the cities. Close to all of the great Tuscan wine regions and a short drive from Siena. Had a great old world feel about it and the host Barbara was lovely.

Review 21：We loved everything about this place, a real gem ! The quiet rural setting is fab and Barbara is a lovely warm, friendly lady. Our room had a typical Tuscan feel , nice ensuite, very comfy and had a mini fridge in. The breakfast included everything from fruit to breads. A small restaurant is a stones throw away - ideal in the evening after a long day out.

Review 22：We loved our stay at il Colombaio!!! the location is breathtaking as is the hotel/bed & breakfast. We stayed only 1 night and would have much preferred to have stayed longer. The bed and breakfast is a true getaway for the young and old. There is a restaurant within 5min walking distance. Barbara is so kind and friendly and really makes your stay enjoyable. The breakfast is served with meticulous attention. The decorations and furnishings are elaborate and elegant. We can't wait to come back here again.

Review 24：The place is beautiful. Everyone there was very welcoming and friendly. My room was clean, perfectly decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't have a car and could have taken a bus into town, but Barbara gave me a ride to Siena in the morning and brought me back in the evening. The scenery of the area is picture perfect in every direction. My entire experience there was a nice surprise. I'm looking forward to going back again with my little boy.
