Reviews for Hostel Mancini Naples

Review 1:The pillows in the bed were very uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep because of this.

Review 2:Helpful staff who knew Naples very well. Close to the train station, and not far to the port and the city centre.

Review 3:the guy working on weekends was NOT so friendly...

Review 4:Definitely, you will feel unsafe in Napoli, but if you are cautious enough then you will be alright. friendly staff. Nice people staying there. (thankful to the french girl who just started to work there)

Review 5:It's a bit hard to find. Although the arrows on the street sign might be confusing, note that it's actually exactly by the street sign.

Review 6:Very convenient to the train station, worked well for evening arrival.

Review 7:Not very comfortable for smokers. But there was little verandas, so at least I did not have to go outside and smoke on the street.

Review 8:Professional staff, very helpful and friendly!

Review 9:because it's situated in a university campus there were students in the next room and out in the hall making loud noise during the "quiet time 23.00-8.00" and we had to call down to reception to ask someone to tell them to be quiet every night of our stay. The shower wasn't too great because it kept changing temperature.

Review 10:The views were nice and the beds were comfortable.

Review 11:The location. Although very near the train station, the surrounding area makes one feel slightly unsafe. The good outweighs the only bad though=)

Review 12:The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The exploring route they suggested was great.

Review 13:Not every bed has charging points. However it was not difficult to find one. The wifi is not stable. The staff said they are trying to improve the problem. I believe it will be fixed soon.

Review 14:Staff is very nice and patient. The public space is lovely and good for socializing. The location is very convenient too.

Review 15:The location is not really clean & was noisy until midnight Wifi connection was not so good

Review 16:Great quality compared to price Pretty good breakfast Great location, easy to get there from the station

Review 17:The rudeness of some members of staff. Apparently you were supposed to be out of the room between 10am - 1pm for cleaning, but I was not informed of this on arrival nor was it written in the room anywhere. (And did not encounter this rule at any other hostel I stayed in.) When the cleaner came in and asked me to leave the room I was bemused but moved into the communal kitchen. Here a member of staff came over and rudely told me I shouldn't of been in the room and that "I knew" this. I apologise, and explain I was unaware of this rule, but instead of accepting my apologe he kept going on at me in a rather agressive manner. Which made me feel intimated and very uncomfortable and quite frankly ruined my stay.

Review 18:That the tiny balconys had chairs on them.

Review 19:Location, Noise, no real sign to help you find the building. Technically this was the worst hostel on my 2 month trip across Western Europe, but that's mostly because the rest were just so much better.

Review 20:While its nearby the central train station, the street its on is always cluttered with either vendors pressing you to buy their cheap wares, loud, fairly drunk Italians yelling at the football game, or tons of garbage that the aforementioned vendors just left behind. At night you certainly don't feel safe. Inside, however, the facilities are nice enough, common room and kitchen are well equipped, and wifi is available in the common area, and if you're lucky, it might reach your bedroom.

Review 21:The mattress was lumpy, the room felt damp and breakfast is fine if you like bread and Nutella.

Review 22:The hostel is close to Napoli Centrale, the subway and the train that takes you to Pompei, Herculaneum, Sorrento and Vesuvius. There is a supermarket just across the street.

Review 23:Lack of heating, but they gave us extra blankets. Had to share one key, so we had to constantly go back and forth with the front desk for the key. The location was also filthy, but I guess that's not the hostel's fault.

Review 24:Breakfast was good, which included yogurt, muesli, cereal, nutella, toasts, tea, coffee. Staff was also helpful and gave tips on touring napoli. Bathrooms were clean. Location was close to supermarket, eateries, and train station. Some of the events were also nice.

Review 25:Yes hostel very close to train station (Napoli Centrale) but in this road they open bazaar. It means that the road is full of rubbish and noise.

Review 26:They have a view that you are a member of big family that called "Hostel Mancini". All staffs are so kind and helpfull. You feel like you are in your home. If you are Erasmus+ student, don't forget they have 10% discount for you.

Review 27:It's strange, but I didn't see soap here, even in WC cabins

Review 28:perfect location, pleasant and helpful staff, quite normal breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable kitchen, fast internet (+computer), and also some nice surprises

Review 29:- Room was cold during my period of stay end Dec'14 due to lack of heating system as temperature drop to near zero deg cel. (however, they make it up with more blankets). Absence of fan may cause the room to be warm during summer too. - You will need a mid/ huge lock to fit the lockers

Review 30:- Helpful and lovely staff - Great kitchen, dining area and TV lounge - Clean - Awesome breakfast, decent spread - Good vibe - Good location with easy access to stations and attractions (though female traveler might need extra company during the night back to the hostel as it seems intimidating with the poor lighting and quite streets)

Review 31:Wifi were available to use but not stable. Near the central station, not so safe.

Review 32:near station and easily to go anywhere, close to da Michele. Hosts are very kind and helpful.

Review 33:Wi-Fi in the rooms didn't always work. Very noisy street below (24/7).

Review 34:Staff were nice and helpful, and there was a lot of info on sights to see and places to go in and around Naples. Breakfast was interesting. Basic necessities were present. Rooms are just big enough and have lockers.

Review 35:Naples is very noisy, that's just how it is. Bring earplugs!

Review 36:I liked everything! Usually I am too lazy to leave a review on booking.com, but for this hostel I make an exeption. The staff is very friendly and helpful and could give a lot of information about the city and surroundings, which bus/train/boat to take etc. Their English is very good, especially for Italian standards. The location is perfect: close to the centre and very close to the central station (5 minutes walk), from which you can go anywhere around Naples. The dorms and bathrooms are very clean. There are personal lockers, and locks in the vending machine for if you don't have your own lock. The kitchen is great! There is everything you need to make your own dinner. There are also many tables, and a common room with couches and a tv. In the morning there is free breakfast with bread and nutella, milk, yoghurt and cereals, coffee and tea. The wifi in the rooms doesn't work really well, but I see this as something positive, because everyone had to stay in the common area, which made it very easy to meet people. If you're going to Naples, go to hostel Mancini! You won't regret it :)

Review 37:dirty bathroom lack of WiFi in the living rooms kitchen closed until 8 a.m. very bad lightbulb in the sleeping room (almost impossible to read)

Review 38:close to the railway station very cheap

Review 39:problem to get their by public transport

Review 40:they gave a lift to the hotel, to the city center and even brought us back the food was very tasty, quite cheap

Review 41:Due to stay close to the main train station, there some strange people near the hostel which is located in a very old building and you have to take a 1980 lift, the hostel isn't the only establishment on this bulding. The WiFi doesn't work very well. The night staff isn't a very good english speaker.

Review 42:Near from the main train station, breakfast included.

Review 43:It always noisy all day long and seems quite unsafe during the night.

Review 44:the best thing is location, find KIMBO right opposite the Napoli Central Station.

Review 45:The prayer that woke me up in the morning was unpleasant and the location of the hostel was not a safe place, although proximity to the central train station was a pro.

Review 46:General decoration of the place was nice and the personnel was helpful.

Review 47:So so hot! They had air con units but they weren't on? The area is a little rough

Review 48:Clean hostel Great staff Good breakfast Close to the station

Review 49:Only issue, albeit very small, was the Limited Wifi range. However a free to use PC with internet access was always available so it doesn't even matter!

Review 50:Very willing to point us in the right direction for activities and places to visit, all while providing any information we needed, no matter how bizarre the question.

Review 51:no wi-fi signal in the rooms, but not such a big deal as can be accessed from the lounge and reception

Review 52:very friendly staff and nice communal area with free breakfast included. located very close to the train station

Review 53:The location of the hostel is convenient and extremely close to the train station; the staff is helpful and truly want you to have a wonderful experience; and the overall environment of Hostel Mancini is warm and inviting. My time in Naples would not have been anywhere near as great if not for the staff - Kaelee was AWESOME!

Review 54:Hotel is extremely well located, it is clean and ordered, the staff is pleasant and very helpful, they even organize weekly tours of the historical center. You can also use the kitchen to cook yourself from 2pm to 10pm I spent great time there and would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Review 90:I felt very unsafe in this location and I would not recommend staying here.

Review 91:Nice breakfast.

Review 92:Nice staff Decent accommodation

Review 93:location there wasnt soap in the bathroom

Review 94:clean

Review 95:The area around the hostel is apparently quite dodgy at night and so its important to be careful. The breakfast is a little limited, some fruit or pastries would work well.

Review 96:Lovely little hostel with helpful and caring staff. Excellent wifi with perfectly acceptable levels of cleanliness and facilities for the money. I arrived very early and was allowed to store my bag and help myself to the breakfast. Nice atmosphere throughout.

Review 97:the area outside of the hostel doesn't seem to be very clean

Review 98:they have a kitchen which is very clean and well-equipped. the hostel is a 10 minute walk from the main train station, 2 minute walk from a super market and 5 minute walk from a fresh market.

Review 99:I really loved Hostel Mancini: I actually felt more like at home than in the hostel! The stuff is really great, with Małgorzata's dinners and Patrick's night tours every guest would feel special :).

Review 100:Beds were a little wobbly so could feel every movement made by other person.

Review 101:Not the greatest location but near to the rail station and the breakfast was good.

Review 102:The location area is extrem dirty and slummy. The bed was too short and uncomfortable, it is situated right next to the door, where it was in the way of the other guests' walking route to their beds. I think this dorm would be suitable for four, without the fifth bed.

Review 103:The staff was kind, we got some extra dinner, the rooms were clean.

Review 104:It was the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The staff was superfriendly and gave us a lot of advice, our room was clean and we had all the facilities we needed (we could borrow a hairdryer, get towels, or cook anything in the kitchen). It was easy to reach important tourist spots from there and moreover, the hostel organises great events such as free pasta nights or pub tours. So if you're looking for a place to stay in Naples, go for Hostel Mancini! :)

Review 105:Rather small, but well-organised, very homely.Loved the possibility to use the kitchen and make a cup of tea! Lovely staff (thank you Gosia and Alfredo!) and great location.

Review 106:The staff was extremely helpful, and introducing you to the city as it's sights, and how to go to them. The staff even takes care to remember your names and when you check in/out. It feels like they genuinely care about your welfare. Extremely good hostel.

Review 107:This place was just awesome! I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel! It's very comfortable, clean place with amazing people who are friendly and always ready to help! And location is very good too, it's close to the Main Train Station. I will definitely return there when in Napoli.

Review 108:The staff were definately a stand out for me. They gave me a map and showed me where I could go and a route I could take. Even letting me know the best transport options. Made me feel very welcome especially when letting me know when they were leaving for the night if I was in the common area, saying goodnight and even remembering my name:) Thanks very much. Would definately stay again if in the area.

Review 109:The hostel is located near some dodgy area (flea markets etc). But if you're vigilant, it's safe.

Review 110:Awesome breakfast, the staff were friendly and it's quite near the central train station

Review 111:If you arrive at night, this area is looks unfriendly and dangerous, so I chose to stay. They have lockers, but you need to pay for the padlock if you have no own. The rooms has only one key /?!?/ I didn't understand why but I stayed only one night, so I didn't care.

Review 112:Very close to the station Staff speak English Fast internet

Review 113:The place is very close to piazza garibaldi. If you are to come hereduring the day it's very close to the main train station and airportshuttle stop. But during the night it may be dangerous.

Review 114:Nice staff, they try to help and they also organize some events. Alsothey offer a nice breakfast.

Review 115:The area around was very dodgy and we didnt want to go out at night because it seemed dangerous. One of the managers didnt speak english, which was a bit annoying.

Review 116:Friendly manager, ok breakfast and balcons in many of the rooms.

Review 117:A simple fan would do much difference during the hot summer months.

Review 118:Clean hostel, nice people, colorfull environment, the staff was very helpful with everything. They even helped me to carry my bicycle to the 2nd floor. I definitely recommend it.

Review 119:There's only one bath in the hostel, shared by the different rooms.

Review 120:This hostel is located in the center of Napoli. It is really clean, themanagers are friendly and helpful. It is really easy to meet people fromaround the world.

Review 121:Just having to ask for the door to the dorms and bathrooms opened every time by a staff member, but understandable for security reasons and they are pretty much on the ball with it.

Review 122:Nice facilities and staff willing to help with your questions. Balcony and ensure in my room. Close to central station and city centre, also a supermarket. Backpacker friendly.
