Reviews for Vitor's Village

Review 1:There was no sponge in the kitchen to wash the dishes. It is not something that the regular tourist carries around with them so would have been a great addition. When I first arrived, the woman at the reception was a bit unfriendly. I asked her why and after that she was much nicer.

Review 2:It was very clean and comfortable. A bottle of organic olive oil fell out of my food bag as I was leaving and left a terrible oily mess at the entrance of the apartment. The staff was very easy going and kind about the situation and immediately came to help me clean up.

Review 3:The lack of basic things in the apartment such as salt, washing up liquid, we were only there for four nights so buying these things were a bit wasteful. Did not change money in reception. The shop was poorly stocked.

Review 4:It was quiet, in a modern but smallish complex. Great views of sunset from the balcony. Short walk into the village. The pools and jacuzzi were great. The apartment was great, very quiet and comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 5:We went mid Oct and the hotel were not buying in stock for the bar or mini market so choices of food and drink were limited.

Review 6:Beautiful location, fantastic apartments, great price, super clean.

Review 7:Wifi in the apartments was adequate for email etc but nothing more. I stayed for 10 days and the wifi was cut after 7 without warning. Soon restored after a call to reception and a new password but should've been warned about this at check in.

Review 8:Great location, short walk in to the center of Ferragudo and its numerous bars and restaurants. Close to beaches, sports facilities and shopping centers when required. Pleasant pool area. Apartments are modern, clean and comfortable with daily maid service.

Review 9:We had a garbage bins by our door and every morning cleaning staff were throwing bottles in the bin very loudly!

Review 10:Apartment was tidy and spacious. Swimming pools were clean and refreshing. Everything was on spot.

Review 11:The pools were a little cold

Review 12:Lovely pool area with great size children's pool, handy onsite shop for ice lollies and drinks, lovely modern apartment, hotel and grounds kept immaculately, great area with beautiful beaches close by

Review 13:No pool towels - we had to go out and buy some. Apartments quite close together - could be noisy in peak times? Wi-fi was poor.

Review 14:very nice comfortable modern apartments. Well equipped. Great location - a few minutes walk into village, which has great bars and restaurants.

Review 15:Lovely spacious rooms Great views and evening sun on river view balcony Daily excellent room cleaning Flexible breakfast option Short walk into Ferragudo town

Review 16:On site shop really poorly stocked but given that Ferragudo is within easy walking distance it really wasn't an issue for us.

Review 17:Spacious, modern & clean apartments. Pool area lovely & suitable for all ages & abilities. Small play area for under 5's. Overall excellent. We had a fab stay & would consider returning.

Review 18:The bed had an awful plastic cover underneath the fitted sheet that we stupidly didn't remove on the first night and neither of us got a wink of sleep..made sure to take it off for the remainder! Couldn't work out how to use the sofa bed :/ The wifi was hit and miss, it dropped fairly often. They could do with more plug sockets. Make sure you find out the back road down to the town, we spent 3 days going out of our way down the hill before we discovered it!

Review 19:Facilities were great, pools were lovely (but freezing cold!) always beds available but we were there middle of September and were told that it had been very busy in July.. Rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed etc. 5 minute walk down to the town. Two restaurants to mention - A Ria (lovely fresh fish) and Fim do Mundo (amazing steaks) book in advance!

Review 20:The buffet for dinner, made us both ill the next day.

Review 21:From start to finish everything was on point, the service, the facilities and the cleanliness of the room. Well done guys, will be coming back!

Review 22:Unstable Internet. A car is needed but you can also walk to the city of Ferragudo and Praia Grande within 10 minutes. It's not really a downside.

Review 23:Different pools, breakfast was really good, small and nice houses not too crowded, quiet neighborhood

Review 24:Nothing really

Review 25:Staff were excellent. One of them even met us on her day off to show us round carvoeira. Facilities first class and cleanliness. Cleaners changed towels and made beds every day. Excellent location. Nice and quiet little village but with plenty of excellent restaurants in the square, and very close to more developed resorts like carvoeira and Praia da rocha

Review 26:brilliant hotel and fantastic holiday. very helpful and friendly staff who spoke great English. Shop on site had al basic requirements and only a small walk into the main square for evening meals in local restaurants. would highly recommend

Review 27:The "adult" area was full of children, most times more children then adults, especially in the jacuzzi, which I thought was for over 18's

Review 28:the apartment was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly.

Review 29:Adult pool, so called quiet area tended to be full of kids ignoring the rules . This was'nt policed by the staff, so went on all week .

Review 30:the small fishing town of Ferogudo has excellent fish restaurants within walking distance of the village complex.

Review 31:The beds were too hard, there were no English speaking children's channels on the TV, so the children were bored when inside

Review 32:It was nice clean well maintained modern resort, staff were friendly and helpful

Review 33:Helpful friendly staff. Great location- nice local restaurants, pretty village. Everything very clean. Nice views of the river and estuary. Spacious light apartment.

Review 34:The plates were tiny at breakfast you could hardly put anything on. The shop shutting at lunchtime was a bit of a pain and the bar/cafe sometimes took a while to be served but when it did come food and drink fab!

Review 35:Pools were fabulous and extra clean, room was lovely, clean and spacious. Lovely place all in all.

Review 36:apartments are spacious and very clean.love the size and position of the pool and the gardens are well kept.staff were very friendly and helpful.5-10 min walk downhill to the square and restaurants

Review 37:A few of the staff were extremly miserable. The pool was freezing cold. The appartment was fine but the lounge smelled of cigarette smoke where it was embedded in the sofa.

Review 38:The location was great, just a short walk from the square. The man on reception who checked us in was lovely. The bar lady from the Sky bar was fantastic.

Review 39:The hotel/apartments are spotless. Maids come in each day to make beds and towels are changed regularly. Free wifi around the hotel not just in your room. Staff are brilliant always happy to assist.

Review 40:I've no complaints except the pool was cold but it was May.

Review 41:Great location near to the square with its bars & restaurants, we had a room with two balconys over looking the river.

Review 42:Some things aren't explained by the reception staff and whilst not really big issues, are worth knowing about as can be frustrating when you find out unexpectedly: 1. If you add a day or two whilst there, you will find that the room key stops working on the last day of the original booking at 12 noon and you have to go to reception to get a new key - effectively checking in again for your extra day(s). This happened to us and the reception didn't tell us when we booked and paid for extra days. 2. The wifi code only lasts seven days and you have to go back to reception for a new one when it stops working! 3. The wifi only connects 2 devices. So free wifi is limted to 2 devices!

Review 43:This is our second visit to Vitors (the last time was five years ago with the kids) and we're pleased to say that it still has the same warm, friendly, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that we loved the first time round. Well equipped apartments, a cracking pool with plenty of sun beds, sun terraces, a pool bar, restaurant (we didnt use this as found it a bit lacking last time), library (yes really), games room, launderette , free wifi etc. Ferragudo is one of the absolute gems of the Algarve. An authentic fishing village, with a reasonable range of restaurants - most with fish grills where you can watch your choice of local fish cooked to perfection.

Review 44:for a 4 star hotel breakfast was average; wifi was free but slow; the room was in a good state but poorly designed. the only thing we disliked was that they don't allow towels to be used at the pool and you have to buy an overpriced one or bring yours. we enjoyed our stay but nothing in the hotel really impressed us.

Review 45:very spacious room; pretty much everything else about the hotel is decent but not great

Review 46:We came here to explore Ferragudo for our wedding guests, as we are getting married in August. Lovely apartments, great pools, really clean, staff really helpful. The bed was slightly hard, but fine for us. It was quiet when we came, but we got an excellent first impression and can't wait to return with over 30 of our wedding guests in August!

Review 47:Only thing I think would improve stay would be more English speaking channels on tv( only news ) although we didn't come on holiday to watch tv as is was quite chilly some days and evenings it would have been nice to have the option of more than the news channel in English

Review 48:5 minute walk from centre of ferragudo. And if you felt like it a 20 minute walk in opposite direction to lidl. Staff very good and changed our towels every other day. Bedding changed 3 times in 12 day stay. Out of season the pool bar etc was not open but we new this before arrival. Overall a really pleasant stay

Review 49:I was allocated an appartment with a balcony which got no sun at all during the day so I could not sit out. As I was only there for 6 nights and was away most of the time I did not ask to be moved but if I stay there again it will be a requirement which I will raise.

Review 50:The price and accessability.

Review 51:Bar and restaurant doesn't work in the winter, accordingly, there are no breakfast. The apartments are not heated at a time while there are no guests - we needed a few hours to warm up the room to a comfortable temperature by conditioner. You need a car to live in this hotel - the beaches, shops, bars, restaurants, far enough.

Review 52:Large and fully equipped kitchen accessories apartments. Very clean and comfort. Great staff, 24h reception. Free parking from the hotel close to apartments. The hotel's location in the center of the Algarve region - from there you can comfortably travel around the region.

Review 53:Dissapointed the Skyline Bar with its great views across Ferragudo was closed( 1st week in October). There could have been more sunbeds on the lower quieter poo, however we had no trouble finding sunbeds on the main pool.

Review 54:Staff were very frindly and helpful. The apartment was large and spotless, it was well equiped for just the two of us. We had an apartment overlooking the river which was great watching the river traffic. Ferragudo is a great village with resturants around the main square. Narrow streets with small shops and bars, reminded us how Portugal was 15 years ago!

Review 55:Ferrogudo is quiet if you are looking for night life and music. Lovely outdoor restaurants 5 min walk and we loved it but may not suit everyone.

Review 56:Lovely modern spacious accomodation. Can't really fault anything. would highly recommend it but check out the location and see it that suits you too.

Review 57:Appalling beds. Lot of facilities, goods and services not available as nearing end of season.

Review 58:Spacious appartment. Well laid out grounds. Nice pool.

Review 59:strange noise sometimes in the building like fiddeling in pipes, toilet doors needed some attention but these are ninor things, that resort is very new i'd say..

Review 60:Amazing BREAKFAST -full fresh fruits, yoghurts, freshly made rolls (ciabatta!), meats, eggs(lovely taste) - wake up earlier to eat that ALL ;-) dinners cher recommendations... Check it yourself as it is 5star restaurant, 3 courses for 15,50eur (!) excellent again.. Friendly staff - gave us an upgrade to apartament as we were with baby, printed boarding passes.. thanks!! fast internet, ALL resort FULL signal! - a miracle?

Review 61:This is a minor complaint I booked a apartment with Riverview but I only had a slight riverview from The patio area

Review 62:I like the pool area all the gardens the cleanliness and it was great for my three year old son

Review 63:Rock hard mattresses Bad little pillows Supermarket not being fully stocked - the season runs till now - we went in September and already they were not re ordering for the shop!

Review 64:Cleanliness Nice apartments Pools nice No issues

Review 65:The service was not 4*. We had some issues with cleaning. There was a strange one toilet paper roll for apartment that we had to complain about.

Review 66:The food at the bar was good. The apartments are very modern and well equipped.

Review 67:Wi-Fi was sometimes down, breakfast can be a bit better, cosidering the 4 stars of this village.

Review 68:They gave us a nice, fully equipped big appartment instead of the double room that we had reserved, without any additional charge. It's a pity we only stayed two nights, during our trip in the whole Portugal.

Review 69:Mini market was not very well stocked but I expect that that was because it is coming towards the end of the season.

Review 70:Nice pool area. Staff were extremely helpful. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby in the village. Apartments were cleaned daily. There is a HUGE library for swapping books! Bar is nice & modern but was very quiet during our stay. Fab views from the bar terrace! Lovely modern apartments. Would definitely recommend!

Review 71:The fact that English families allowed their children to use the adult pool area as a playground. There is a huge lovely pool area for families with 2 pools. There is also nearby an oasis of calm namely a stylish adults pool and jacuzzi with sun beds. However a number of noisy children frequently came down to this area disrupting the calm.

Review 72:Excellent modern and spacious apartments. Well designed spacious complex with good facilities. Good breakfasts. Short walk to pretty town.

Review 73:Great hotel. Lovely, clean & peaceful. Close to Ferragudo square, with nice restaurants & bars. Good atmosphere around the pool & bar area. Would definitely recommend!

Review 74:95% of staff were brilliant, just 2 or 3, did not have the same standards. (Mainly the snack bar staff). Jacuzzi regularly full of small children that were jumping in, yet it is over 18's only. Maybe some signage should go up, saying adult supervision required or something similar.

Review 75:Layout of development was very smart. Roof terrace would be even better if it could be used more during the day by putting some some of shade up there in places. Pool very clean and the little on-site shop is perfect for everyday items like milk, drinks, freshly baked rolls, sandwich fillers etc...

Review 76:- A lot of Dutch people. If you're from Holland it's nice to meet people from other countries. Almost no locals are present so you don't have a big Portuguese feel to resort- You need a car to go to city nearby. The town closeby is a bit boring. - Town (Praia Da Rocha) 8km from resort is very British (full of Irish pubs and karaoke bars). That's not our thing.

Review 77:- Nice appartments (we had free upgrade)- Good pool - Very friendly staff - Excellent for families with small children (we weren't)

Review 78:The Orange Block is right at the children's play area - not ideal for a group of mums away on a child-free mini break!

Review 79:Everything. Will return for a third visit!

Review 80:No towels for the pool and no mention on it in the website i had to pay for the safe box 2.5eurxday never happened to me. Altough the apartment is large and well fitted the place itself is in a middle of a residentail complex .... And not as it looks like in the web... Quote exp too 185 eur x night...

Review 81:It was a bit out the way nothing much around it. It was a good 15-20 min walk to the beach.

Review 82:We like the apartments, pool, pool bar and food. It was a short 5min walk to some lovely restaurants. Staff we're very helpful and polite.

Review 83:Far from the sea. In fact, the hotel is only suitable for travelers with their own car. The rooms have stone floor, carpet would be nicer.

Review 84:Clear, great staff, wi-fi, pool and so on. Wonderful location in pretty little village on the hill. Lovely view from the hotel restaurant. Parking near the house.

Review 85:A little bit far from the nearest beach, but a courtesy bus was provided which was on time and reliable so this wasn't so much of a problem. On site minimarket was quite overpriced, but there were local supermarkets within easy walking distance.

Review 86:The standard of accommodation was excellent - spacious rooms, very clean, well equipped and efficient air conditioning. Plenty of room around the pool and never a problem getting sunbeds at any time of day. Pools were great for kids (we have a five year old) and were never overcrowded. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from a good selection of shops, bars & restaurants - lots of which are really good standard. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced and lovely views from the upstairs bar terrace.

Review 87:Excellent resort! 5 min walk to the square, extremely clean and comfy apartments. Value for money!

Review 88:The only downside to our stay was very uncomfy beds

Review 89:Love the location and layout of the resort

Review 90:Noises from next door room

Review 91:Location

Review 92:Good location and good facilities at hotel

Review 93:Staffing was poor... Requires more staff on bar! Waited quite a while to be served. Also ran out of drinks daily.

Review 94:Ideal location!

Review 95:- Lovely location - Always free sun beds - Jacuzzi - Fresh towels every day

Review 96:Nothing

Review 103:location

Review 104:Slow internet

Review 105:Had to come to work again

Review 106:Everthing

Review 107:The bed was lousy. It had a plastic covering that woke me up when I moved. Consequently I was not able to sleep.

Review 108:The place, the room, the surroundings, etc.

Review 109:Lovely and clean and close to town

Review 110:Not a lot to dislike

Review 111:Appartment was really good, some really nice resturants close by.

Review 112:Peace and quiet.

Review 113:Receptionist at check in was very abrupt

Review 114:Location site

Review 115:Perfect! Not a bad word to say!

Review 116:unfriendly bar staff

Review 117:the cleanliness

Review 118:The beds are VERY hard!!

Review 119:Quiet, friendly, very clean, spacious, kitchen well equipped.

Review 120:Apartment door didn't lock from the inside which was unsafe with little children.

Review 121:Quiet and very clean.

Review 122:Pool area, modern clean apartment, daily maid service.

Review 123:The lack of the provision of towels for the pool. Perhaps Vitor could consider this for a fee

Review 124:Liked everything from staff to facilities. This was my second visit and I'm sure I will return.

Review 125:Wifi is little bit slow for heavy users who like to play HD -video, but still acceptabel

Review 126:Staf is very friendly, nice clean rooms. I visited this resort for second time. Few years agoo with my family and now as single. I know almost sure there will be a third time !!

Review 127:No tea/coffee making facility in room. Bit of a distance from main hotel complex.

Review 128:Excellent buffet breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Evening meal was very good quality and good value. Lovely room with comfy beds and excellent en-suite facilities.

Review 129:the walls are to thin when you can here the person in the bath room having a wee not good when people come back late and wake you up because the walls are to thin will never come back

Review 130:the staff was excellent
