Review 1：steps into the pool very slippery husband slipped, lucky he didn't hurt himself. The tiles were coming off around the pool.

Review 5：At first, the room we booked was unsatisfactory: a door and window would not open, making it airless and dull. We were transferred to a better room where everything worked. Problem solved, and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel's organic layout testifies for its growth over 100 years and adds to its charm. We got a special rate that provided great value for money.

Review 9：Street facing room was very noisy and had the bright light from the entrance shining in to our room (#3). Also felt it was a bit unfriendly to say breakfast served between 7-10am but to not replenish anything from about 915, the first morning we went to breakfast about 920 (we are in holidays lets sleep in sort of thing) only took find half of the hot items and fruits/Danishes were all but empty and none more to be brought out.

Review 11：Location is perfect, walking distance to shops, restaurants, river across the road. Friendly obliging staff who were helpful in every way. Comfortable room, breakfast in the Chandelier room each morning. We really enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

Review 12：My room was positioned above a 'smoking' courtyard. Of a nighttime the smell of smoke pervaded my room while I was trying to get to sleep, and it was also a bit noisy because of the smokers in the courtyard talking loudly.

Review 18：My room was really noisy. I paid for an upgraded room- superior room I think. It was right on the main road and above a café. There were neon lights below our window for the café and were on all night. I wish I didn't upgrade our room and just had a standard room because they seemed to be in the middle, near the pool and some even had a balcony (which mine didn't). I understand the hotel is really old but I still think it needs a massive overhaul. It is really run down and tired looking.

Review 22：Spa was not working. Gym equipment is so old it is basically unusable. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Public address system was so low, messages could not be heard. Staff failed to explain what was happening & shrugged it off as unimportant the next day even though we had been unable to sleep or contact anyone on reception for an explanation.

Review 23：Had to be moved because of noisy air conditioner. TV kept cutting out, technician replaced a cable but we then could not receive the ABC or SBS despite complaining twice. I did not mention it but the sink drain in room 14 is very slow to drain away and needs attention.

Some rooms are a long distance from reception. Our room had no soap and the showere was marginal. No hot water at night. Although car parking is free, it is not secure.

The superior rooms are comfortable. the balcony was quite large and on warm days would add to the comfort and private space available. there are lovely garden to sit in. There is an outdoor pooland and a gym. It is also very close to the station.

Review 116：The traffic noise,we had a room facing the main street and had no sleep the first night,also the guest next to our room had the air condition running the whole night,it was winter,the compressor was very noisy.We asked,and were given,a different room the next day which was quite but again next door guest had the air conditioner running the whole night but at least we had a few hours sleep.

We were moved to a front room (at midnight) but why put people in back rooms when hotel not full as they know it's noisy?

Get new heat pumps that actually work. (the heat pump actually got serviced while I was staying so that was not the problem)

Review 122：The bathroom needs updating and the room has an old building smell to it , the colour choices in the rooms is a little depressing and dated. The shower at no fault of the cleaner is dirty and I mean dirty as in has not been updated in that long it has stains on it and mould a cleaner would not be able to remove. The heater in the room tooK a long time to heat up but once it did was great

Review 138：Phone in the room didn't work and we were unable to call reception. The toilet would not flush and we had to have someone from reception come to try and fix it that was uncomfortable! The alarm clock went off at 5am then we had to unplug it in the dark trying to find a way to switch it off.
