Review 1:Room was not so well before it was given to us. towels and bottled water was sent after 30mins or 1 hour and send one after the other thus disturbing our peace. Food is VERY POOR.

Review 5:During the check in period, the reception staff did not call us when the room is ready. Instead we need to go to them and ask then only we get the room keys. Need to improve the system. When we want to enter our room there are a plenty of rubbish bag in front of our room.

Everything is half working only: key card must change everyday, hair dryer can only be used once a day, sink is choked 6. Swimming pool is dirty 7. For 5 star resorts, sheets should be changed everyday 8. We stayed at ground floor and we could here the people walking around upstairs. It's very disturbing 9. Staff knocked the door twice but when we haven't had time to respond, be barged it abruptly just to deliver 2 bottles of water! Very rude! What if we were naked?! 10. It's too dark the whole place

Review 9:Poor maintenance observed. For example, the steps leading to the pool had lights but were not not functioning. The pool had lights as well but were either not working or were not turned on. Doubt about the cleanliness of the room and toilet. Stain around the toilet and underneath the wash basin was very mouldy. There was a pile of dishes left at the doorstep of one of the rooms of the villa we were staying, which were there when we checked in, and were still there when we checked out the next day. Very disappointed during our stay.

Review 16:The room was so noisy. Every single thing the next door neighbour did i could hear. Early morning the neighbour was sick and vomitting and i could hear every single sound he made. horrible how you can expect people to pay so much money but yet i couldnt even get a good nights sleep because the resort couldnt spend extra money to soundproof the walls. also the toilet had hair in the sinkhole and the floor mat to wipe your feet was full of hair from the previous occupants. you call this a 5 star??

Review 18:Not value for money ... Rm1000 for a night I could get better then other place . This will be the first n last ! It really surprise me a thousand a room with wat I expected .
Review 19:The room is full of dust..u can see thick dust almost everywhere. We stayed at the 1st floor..it is very noisy where u can here footstep every second from the upper floor.it hard to sleep at night with that kind of noise. Food is below expected and not value for money.
Review 20:Service was slow and/or bad when provided. The rooms were dusty. The bed was hard and the large pillows gave me a neck pain. The rest-room at the lobby was dirty and dilapidated. Some food items were too salty and/or too sweet. Lacked fine dining food quality.

Review 36:Swimming pool is a bit dirty and the integrity of the receptionist . Please be wary while making cash payment , do remember to request for receipt. The recepnionist request me to pay RM150 for extra bed when I check in but she never issue a receipt for me. When I check out the same receptionist request me to pay for the extra bed again ! This time the rate of an extra bed has dropped from RM150 to RM130. Upon lodging complaint to the staff in charge at that time and as confirmed the actual rate for an extra bed is only RM130. Nevertheless the matter was settled but it has tarnished my good impression of the resort .

Review 44:Mobile phone service is extremely low and 3G data doesn't work at all. Hotel Wifi is patchy and cuts out/disconnects a lot. Housekeeping staff entered my room even though the 'Do Not Disturb' was displayed. When we complained, no one seemed to understand why we were upset. Staff are very inattentive, we spent 2 days at the pool and not once did staff approach to see if we wanted to purchase drinks. The shower tap fell off during a shower, leaving a large amount of water spraying 3 meters across the bathroom.

Review 48:The quality of breakfast served and service provided during breakfast was poor. Also, room service dining was way too expensive. Rooms were also over priced for the quality and I was told that I'd be charged rm120 just to decorate my room alone for my honeymoon which is just a matter of scattering flower petals.

Once chk in ask me paid a amount n once I go into room they call me n say wrong calculated need paid again . 3rd when I reach the room , outside the room staircase light is not functions , I have ask for repair the light but 1 hour only get someone come and repair . Second day once I wake out go for breakfast , I saw the light bulb outside my room staircase . If a very dangers thing and I cannot image 5 star hotel will happen this kind of thg . Totally disappointed. Won't stay in this resort anymore .

Review 56:The place is not very well maintained.I found a used shower cap in the bathroom.You can find creaking wooden floors, parts that are coming off in the bathroom, and scratches on the dressing table, side tables and floors. The guys who sent the extra bed need to be more careful when they work. They were bandying about the extra bed (which has lost a wheel), hence causing scratches on the wooden floor further!Due to the structure of the rooms, being made entirely of wood, it makes for poor noise barrier.If you're staying in the 4 units-in-1 house type of rooms, good luck if your room is on the ground floor. You can hear almost each step taken by those staying in the room above, and it's worse if there's a family with children staying in the room above yours. We had such a family with 3 or 4 children staying in the room above us and they were running throughout the room even past midnight! And as soon as they woke up around 6 am the next day, they started running around again. We didn't get much sleep because from our room on the ground floor, each time they walked or ran in the room, it sounded like elephants stomping about.The air conditioner was also not working throughout the night so we had to rely on the ceiling fan but it was quite warm.There's billiard and darts to play near the pub but you have to pay for them. Each billiard game is RM5 and you have to change for tokens. But the token changing machine allows you to pay either RM10 or RM20. Hence, you are 'forced' to play two games of billiard, at least. :(Would be good if the hotel management can allow the billiard and darts to be played by guests on a complimentary basis. Some hotels already offer this.The hotel uses buggies to ferry hotel guests to and from their rooms and the reception area. However, I think they are only running on 2 buggies for the entire place.
Review 57:Philea Resort is meant to be a forest resort. The log cabins are quite unique and the ambience makes you feel like you're in a forest sanctuary. The location is easy to find although it is quite a distance away from the nearest supermarket or eateries (you need to drive several km out towards Malacca town). Breakfast was quite good with a reasonable spread.
Review 58:Room has no sound proof. Can hear people is talking, children is running, crying and yelling.

Somehow, facilities are not to my expectation since it is a resort where we plan to spend our time throughout our stay. Not much activities to do. Not much toys to play in kids playroom. Room only ready at 4.30pm! Due to high occupancy and it is expected as it is peak season, please hire more staff!!!

Review 72:The place looks good, however, not worth the money. Staff were not sincere in the welcoming of guests and are not very attentive towards guests needs (compare to resorts in Batam). Massage was the same, very insincere masseurs who just want to get the job done (as compared to massage services in Bali).

Review 76:An excellent services by duty manager Mr Dev and his crew.He and his crew attend to us immediately and were very friendly. The room was magnificently beautiful and really relaxing. Tropical atmosphere make anyone who love nature like myself will never resist to stay in this resort for the whole week of holiday.
Review 77:Check in take too long even its not crowded. Some of the front desk staffs need more training to be more friendly and handle customers in a proper manner. Maybe a queue up bar should have to ensure fair waiting and to ensure first come first serve. This hotel is Not disabled friendly.

Review 82:Alice from the Spa. We made a booking which she denied being made. She first claimed she said it was fully booked. When challenged that we witnessed the front desk making the booking she changed her story to say we got the wrong time. Again, we said we wrote the time down and also heard it being confirmed she became defensive. No apology and just total rudeness.
Review 83:Despite the negative reviews we had seen, we went with an open mind and were pleasantly surprised. Staff were very friendly, warm and accommodating. Facilities were great and the overall complex was well maintained.

Review 86:I have a few complaints as it is a 5 star hotel. We attended the Christmas Eve dinner buffet. Completely underwhelming and not worth the price of about RM120 per person. The eating area did not have an ambiance of a 5 star hotel and the food was average at best.
Review 87:Honestly, the room was amazing. It was comfortable and the interior was very pretty. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway. The pool area was also very pretty and the staff were friendly. They also provided a buggy service for hotel guests to their rooms. Housekeeping was good and we received complimentary bottles of water and cans of iced lemon tea daily.

Review 96:There are too many flies in the restaurants. The rooms were very dusty and musty and there were lizard droppings all over bathtub and bed. They make us wait for 2 hours to check in as we arrive at 1245pm from singapore claiming the rooms are being cleaned. When we arrived at our rooms we found lizard droppings in the bathtub. Musty rooms and dust all over the wood carvings. Very disappointed and we wanted to check out. Day earlier but they refused to let us check out one day earlier after staying 2 nights. A lot more to go if they want to attract international Travellers. I see a lot of locals and if that is the target market so be it.

Review 105:The cabin was located too closely to each other. The hotel gave us a room too close to the main building with noisy kitchen and lackluster view. And when we requested to change they blatantly claimed that the hotel was fully booked which was not the case. There were half of the cabins that were unoccupied! The room floor was dirty and dusty. Toiletries were not stocked up. Late at night we saw 2 staff behaving inappropriately. Of which i will not mention what but highly disturbing and not good for families or children who might stumble upon them

Review 117:- Requested double bed, however they provide me twin bed. - Air corn broken down in midnight. ask for repair for 3 time, still unable to fix, hence mid night has to change my room from 3097 to Room 3183. - Due to changing my room, all my personal stuff still in my old room, in the early morning, was requested the resort to use buggy to send me back to my old room ( was raining + wearing pyjamas), however, waiting for 1 hour, the buggy never arrived. - has to walk back myself during the rain with my pyjamas, even buggy pass by also never ask to fetch us back.
