Review 1：The stop in the bath room did not work. I wanted to take a bath, but was not able to. And the water in the bath faycet was brwon for a while, but cleared up after running five minutes. I assume this was due to the fact no one was abke to take a bath because of non- functiong plug. Also the staff. The front was not able to direct me to historical lacations, i assume, due to limited English.

Review 3：Casa del Rio is in perfect location, short walk to historical centre and major attractions; well designed with balconies overlooking central fountain/pool. Infinity pool on roof is fantastic looking out over river and central historical centre on other side of river; staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous. Breakfast has a great selection, with main part of breakfast ordered and cooked fresh. I would definitely recommend not only to families, but also young couples and older couples.

Review 4：Breakfast buffet is worse quality compared to facility and overall service. Under the table was dirty with food drop stepped on and dried which seems not cleaned previous night.

Review 11：Service speed overall was extremely slow. For the price, the service speed was that of a 3-star hotel. In room dining took an hour to arrive when it should have been no more than 30-40mins, check in took 30mins when it should have been 10mins tops with no one else checking in.

Review 14：- the breakfast selection is small for a five star hotel - we had two rooms, both already with some maintenance problems. shower doors in both rooms were not closing perfectly what resultet in a wet bathroom. Some of the electricitiy was not working, for example the do not disturb sign. Loud sound of a generator in one room. Bad soundproofing. - staff is not five star, for example nobody helped with the luggage when we checked out in the lobby, although they were standing around and looked at us carrying the luggage. - no turn down service although we told housekeeping to come back in half an hour to do it.

I can say I will come back again. staying in this hotel is a wonderful experience. amazing feeling and relaxing. my first time was in my honeymoon. and still the experience is same. the location. river cruise. food. spa. everything makes it wonderful experience. I don't know if I love this hotel because I love Melaka or I love Melaka because of this hotel. I even bought some of the products in their shop to be reminded of this experience. you should try it don't hesitate.

Review 47：The hotel is in a fantastic location on the riverside. The staff are extremely nice and nothing is too much hassle. Rooms are huge and with all amenities possible. The breakfast is outstanding with an a la carte choice included in buffet. Very central, just a couple of meters from Jonker Street for the lively market and the city sights. If I had to go back to Melaka there is no other place I would consider.

Review 48：The breakfast is lousy. Not much variety. There isn't any corner to ask for eggs. We've to ask the waitress to order for us. The room balcony lock is spoilt. We can't lock at all and we are staying in level 1. It's dangerous.

Review 50：It's very close to the city centre, The hotel is beautifully laid out and has a rustic Spanish feel to it that makes you relax straight away! We were welcomed with cool wet towels to cool down in the hot weather and ginger sorbet: very enjoyable!!!!! The staf was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were wonderful, cool and clean.

Stuff are good and helpful. Carrying smile all the time. Pro-active as well. Deco of the room and the hotel are both wonderful. Colony style. We liked it. They even have a library that you can have an afternoon tea. I would like to stay in de Rio again.

Review 78：I must say I'm pleasantly surprised by the service. It's level of hospitality and warmth is of one of the better ones in Malaysia (including 5 star hotels). It's location is also great - along the Malacca river opposite the Stadthuys and just behind Jonker's main street. We didn't need to drive throughout our 4D3N stay. We had our room at Level 3, which is the same floor as the pool and spa and gym. Grateful for the added convenience. The room and bathroom were luxurious, spacious and clean. The bath tub is huge and can sit 2 persons at one time. We were in room 319. Rooms 318-320 have views facing courtyard which looks beyond into the sea. The other rooms on level 3 looks into the courtyard and at an opposite row of rooms (shape of the building is an 'L'). Staff are friendly from the time of check in till check out, although they do seem a little short handed when there is a crowd. But all in all it was a great experience. It is a choice hotel in Malacca for me.

Review 87：Rated poorly purely from poor service standard for a room charged RM2,200+ per night. From my previous 2 Stay in the hotel I notice this 5 star hotel primarily managed by students intern from university in Indonesia. Nothing against them but as the name suggests -interns are inexperience and here to learn - unfortunately at the cost of customers. I've stayed in many 5 stars hotel but this is the first I've seen mostly interns manning the hotel. Hotel should reduce the price to match the service quality if cost saving rather than customers satisfaction is the ultimate objective. Dont even know where to start so as summary -this hotel is not worthy of 5 star and not value for money ( again purely from service perspective against price paid)

Review 96：The long waiting time while waiting to check in. Reached the hotel at 2.30pm, and was informed the room was not ready yet. Was ushered into "The Library" to wait. Snacks and refreshments were provided while waiting. Room was ready after waiting for almost 1.5hours.

Review 97：The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good customer service from the staff and hotel. They really do take care of all fine details even down to leaving a note in the room showing the weather report for the next day, so that you can plan your activities. Local snacks were provided in the room during check in and later in the evening when we came back from dinner. Too bad my stay was only for 1 night. Casa del Rio really made me want to extend my stay in Malaca. This hotel is highly recommended

Review 99：I am so frustrated with the reservation where I booked and paid for Riverview but unfortunately they change my room facing garden and quarter riverview without informing me. Eventhough they said they had upgrading my room, my main concern is the view. If i purposely paid for the riverview it means that I want the riverview!!

Review 101：My family and I from Malaysia and friends of ours from the uk booked 3rooms and received a wonderful surprise when two of the deluxe roomswere upgraded to the Cheng Ho suite. The suite was beautiful, the roomscomfortable and we had a wonderful stay.

Review 102：The wooden floor has been over-polished. It is slippery to walk on even when barefoot. It can be dangerous for older folks who may slip, fall and hurt themselves very badly. The shower head cannot be fixed properly. Maintenance should make regular checks of frequently used items. We checked in at about 3.30 p.m. when the sun was pretty hot. We were shown the usual reception area which was at that time uncomfortably hot. The staff did not seem to notice it; he just did things by the book. I had to tell him to relocate us to a cooler area while waiting to be checked in.

Review 108：1) My family and I arrived on a weekday early afternoon with no other guests in sight, yet they took about 20 minutes to check us in. 2) We were promised 2 adjoining rooms if we came back in 2 hours. When we did so in 4 hours, they said no such rooms were available! They upgraded us to a 2-bedroom suite after we refused to settle for bedrooms at 2 different floors. 3) Booked river view rooms - it was nothing much except for views of the muddy Melaka river.

Conditions around the hotel at night was very dark and very scary , especially in the lobby area and garden
