Reviews for Pedro's House

Review 1:The breakfast was the best among all the youthhostels/guesthouses i have every stayed in Korea. stayed there four days- everyday changed with wonderful taste. The guesthouse has a very artsy, good taste. the owner, and the staffs are super nice. Their English is perfect!

Review 2:Pedro is the perfect host, always trying to help, friendly, kind and happy to meet new people, but also the other workers are really friendly. The room was very confortable, and the place is cute. Amd the attached cafe is great, best place to sit, read or meet new people. And the breakfast... best I had in Korea.

Review 3:not on main road. not we'll know by taxi drivers. room facilities was not adequate, like no telephone, no television. no specefic bath room items like tooth pest brash, soap etc. living in one building and breakfat at other building. no shuttle bus arrangement with kimdaejung convention center (my conference venue).

Review 4:booking without credit card long time option for cancellation or change. seems to be cheaper location was good

Review 5:There were no dislikes as i got more than what i had paid for

Review 6:Host and staff were helpful and friendly and spoke english. Able to walk to subway or take bus to inter city express buses very quickly. Very safe environment if you are out late.

Review 7:Friendly international guest house, food, drinks, cafe. Eclectic furnishings. Our host displayed the Silver Fern Flag for us. Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Our best four days in our 10 week trip.

Review 8:Thanks,Pedro! I really enjoyed staying at the guesthouse. Everything was really nice and comfortable and I got to know a lot of very nice people :) I will definitely come back here if I ever return to Gwangju!

Review 9:Checking in at a separate location.

Review 10:I liked the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. It was very clean and had a nice layout. There are also a lot of information about what to do in Gwangju. The breakfast and cafe are also really nice and a relaxing space.

Review 11:I missed having a bedside lamp as I like to read a bit before falling asleep.

Review 12:I love the family feel and hospitality. The assortment of books, games and the shared space with its nooks and assortment of interesting objects make this an open and friendly place.

Review 13:I liked everything although be aware that besides Pedro's house it is very difficult to communicate in English in Korea.

Review 14:Pedro is very friendly and eager to help. Try to book a tour with him or ask him to join you for a Korean meal. He is an excellent host and very helpful.

Review 15:Location was the only pitfall for us, but thankfully you don't need to leave as they have an amazing bar.

Review 16:Everything else, the room was great, the bar is amazing.

Review 17:a very simple breakfast served between 9-11 am. On our request we got some breakfast at 7am and we brought our own coffee.

Review 18:very friendly and helpful staff touristic maps and info free upgrade to Pedro's house 2 excellent and beautifull tevaveller's pub

Review 19:Those few rainy days!

Review 20:Pedro, great guy. Voyagers, great place. Staff great people. Location, (for what we needed) perfect. Food, lots of variety (including a home cooked KIMCHI by Pedro's mum. What can I say, don't go to Gwangju without visiting Pedro's.

Review 21:There are mosquitoes in the room The location and the reservation is a bit of a problem.

Review 22:Very nice Rodina Hotel, Pedro and his parents and staff are very friendly and warm. Convenient transportation

Review 23:Pedro actually met me at the office and upgraded me for the weekend. That was cool. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I had the best night sleep in over a year.

Review 24:Everything was great - but do not expect perfection the atmosphere reflects comfort and homely not sterile and cold.

Review 25:Pedro is the first person who has provided a clear (pictured) guide on how to get to a property from different modes of transport. A lovely friendly place for people to stay with lots of local information and advice. Pedro's local knowledge and English is a huge bonus to explain what to do, where to go and how to do it. I had a room with own bathroom, remarkably quiet, comfortable bed and nice shared areas - downstairs and a balcony outside as well. Very homely feel and atmosphere for people to meet and share ideas and travel experiences etc Pedro was an excellent host - passionate about what he does and determined to provide a welcome and experience that people will remember for all the right reasons. The local area has a lot to offer and is a short distance to walk to the May 18th uprising memorial in the park - an essential part of history to visit. I had a lift to the train station for no charge which is way more than was expected. A new venture is planned with more rooms and a new café - another place to visit, stay and enjoy!!

Review 26:room is too small, we expected private bathroom/toilett but there was not, the shared bathroom/toilett had a bad smell, the shared living room ist not clean

Review 27:Pedro, he is a nice and helpful gay, speaking english

Review 28:We had stopped over at Gwangju to visit Damyang Bamboo Forest. Pedro's really helpful guides made everything so much easier. He gave clear directions to his place (cab ride was affordable) and provided us with very helpful suggestions (he also recommended us an amazing cafe in Damyang) It also helped massively that he was fluent in English. It will be interesting to see his cafe conceptualised! Thank you for having us and good luck!

Review 29:Nothing to say.

Review 30:Amazing place, good location close to the subway st. and very clean! Pedro will help you with everything you may need, I even got my room upgraded upon my arrival!

Review 32:nothing I don't like

Review 33:Unique and comfort guesthouse in Gwangju Provided useful and complete travel information step by step Suggested nice restaurant within the Gwangju province Pedro he is a very intimate owner

Review 34:I can't think of anything that disappointed.

Review 35:Everything. Pesto was an absolutely delightful host. Happy to show us around his city and doing a lot for the local community. Thanks for the great stay Pedro

Review 36:The front stayed unlocked. Even though the main gate was usually locked, the key is readily available and sometimes I left to go out and it was just wide open. In Korea it's different but this made me a little anxious because where I'm from it's risky to do that.

Review 37:Pedro was friendly and accommodating, the place was way more cost effective than going to a hotel and it was in a quiet neighborhood.

Review 38:The hostel is located fairly near to a subway station and is easy to access from the U-Square bus terminal. Really though, Pedro was a great host. My original booking was for a 4-in-1 dorm but Pedro upgraded me to a private room for no extra charge. It was a super pleasant surprise after weeks of staying in dormitories. Room was extremely comfortable. Definitely the place to stay at when you are in Gwangju

Review 39:There isn't much to complain about actually.

Review 40:Both Pedro and his father were really friendly. As Pedro was not around on the day I arrived, his father gave me the necessary assistance I needed, be it hunting for lunch or the directions to 5.18 memorial etc. Really appreciate the help! The place was clean and homely, and is near bus stops and a subway station. There are also several delicious restaurants around the area too. Conveniently located! I will definitely recommend this place, and when I visit Gwangju again I will stay at Pedro's again.

Review 41:The house is clean and tidy. The house owner, Pedro, can speak fluently English. He is friently and helpful. He is hard working and willing to help every traveller.

Review 42:1. Location - 5 to 10 minute walk from nearest subway station. 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from bus terminal 2. Cozy, clean, and homey guesthouse 3. Love the free breakfast. Simple but filling. 4. Pedro himself! Such a hospitable and insightful host

Review 43:I enjoyed my stay at Pedro's house, the owner was friendly, easy-going and kind. In the evening he spent time chatting and drinking with the guests of the house. It was a very nice experience.

Review 44:one bathroom is not convenient when every room is full. also in the morning kitchen is little bit crowded.

Review 45:Nice, well arranged house and friendly people. I feel pedro check in details. (Small paper with address in Korean was very useful.) Also I like that he add banana for breakfast menu.

Review 46:Pedro is so very, very helpful! He took us to Damyang in his own free time and also went out to dinner with us. He even offered to drive us to the bus terminal at the end of our stay for free!!!! Definitely one of the nicest hosts you will ever find!

Review 47:not even a single point to say.

Review 48:managerial capability of the owner along with along with his behavior towards the members residing like a family. More so compilation of the related literature and his guiding ability.

Review 49:Pedro is a very nice host and very helpful. Because we had big luggages he drove us to the train station the day of our departure. Beds in the dorm are quite big. The house is clean and quiet.

Review 50:It do not have a ventilation in the bathroom to take fresh air in the bathroom

Review 51:It was very cosy. Pedro do have a lot of information in his house like which bus at which station will run to the seightseeing places. We had a free shuttle service, free print-out opportunities at the PC and free laundry service

Review 52:personal information personal traveller guide personal help in need (I was going to the hospital with Pedro!) breakfast for free drinks for free I didn't found a staff member, I found a friend you feel like at home

Review 55:The fact I couldn't stay longer! Great place

Review 56:Pedro is an excellent host! What can I say! The guy even drove myself and two french girls to the bus terminal! I have to say it was THE nicest place I've stayed in South Korea and I've been travelling around for three months and stayed in some very nice places! Initially I was only using this place as a stop of point but after Pedro told me more about the history of the place and informed me of the national park nearby I stayed for an extra two nights!!! Do not hesitate to book this place it is an absolute bargain for what Pedro delivers! Thank you Pedro :)

Review 57:Pedro is a very nice fellow who takes care of keeping everything clean and ready to use. The facilities are top quality. Very well located (close to Metro) and the best part is the atmosphere, because you can feel staying at home and not in an impersonal hostel.

Review 65:This was a really relaxed setting and perfect for a vacation. The instructions on how to get to the guesthouse were very detailed and helpful. Likewise, they offered a lot of helpful information on things to do in the city, places to eat and day trips outside of the area. The place had a laid back atmosphere with a great lounge and kitchen area. It was a nice place to relax and talk to new people.
