Located right in front of Anbo River, Suimeisou offers affordable Japanese and Western-style accommodations. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas and Anbo Port is a 10-minute walk away.
Guests sleep in rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or in rooms with hardwood floors and Western beds. A flat-screen TV and Japanese Yukata robes are provided in each room, and some rooms come with a private toilet. Bathrooms are shared with other guests.
A shared fridge and a free-use washing machine are available on-site. Guests with a group of 5 or more people can enjoy a private boat ride along the river.
A Japanese set menu is served for breakfast and dinner at the dining room.
Suimeisou Inn is a 10-minute drive from Yakushima Airport and Yakusugi Museum. Yakusugi Land and Miyanoura Port are both a 45-minute drive away.

Review 1：We loved everything at this hotel! The owner is very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a japanese style room, which was very wide and had a magnificent view to the riverside from balcony. We caught cold the day before comming to Yakushima and needed hot water. The host provided us with the cattle, it was very helpful! Location of the hotel is very relaxing, it's calm and silent outdoors. Very tasty and mild drinking water. The most surprising was that Hayao Miyazaki also stayed in Suimeisou hotel and his drawings are in the lobby! Maybe Anbo area is not so attractive as Miyanoura, but still lovely and easy achieved by ferry.
Review 2：Rooms are very very old. And so is the bathroom. Bathroom is japanese style -- meaning someone may come in to shower with you when you are using it.
Review 3：All hotel/guest house in Yakushima are very costy. This is the one we could find within our budget. Staffs are very friendly. View is good from the room. Bed is comfortable thought not sure if the bed sheet is changed after previous guest left.

Review 7：Very nice guesthouse. The lady who runs the guesthouse was of the friendliest we've had during our one month stay in Japan. Food was delicious, i recommend half pension. We hiked for a couple of hours when we got back a bath was waiting for us, steaming hot, and food was served; miso, tempura, sashimi, salads, and so much more delicately prepared by the sweetest woman on yakushima. amazed by the hospitality at suimeisou...
