Reviews for Hotel Margherita
Review 1:Would have been great for the small pool to be heated during the winter months.
Review 2:The hotelliers, Suela and Andrea, gave outstanding hospitality and catered for individual needs. They made a huge difference to our holiday.
Review 3:Nice fancy family run hotel , owners are very helpful. Peaceful location and everything is detailed which you can feel the owner make big effort to make you stay pleasant and like home.
Review 4:Very beautiful location and hotel. The owners were lovely. Made you feel like part of their family, and were VERY happy to do anything for you. Food was fantastic. I would love to go back and stay with them again.
Review 5:Staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of there way to ensure we had a great time. The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views bathed in sunlight. Great spot to stay for the path of the Gods walk.
Review 6:wonderful hosts made the stay memorable, with directions and bus tickets available to major sites. Gorgeous views, great restaurant and breakfast, rooms lovely with balcony, nice pool level as well.
Review 7:the pool wasn't very clean but that is understandable given it wasn't peak season. Breakfast items weren't always re-filled on time.
Review 8:Location was stunning, staff really friendly and helpful. Each one of the staff members was willing to go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable.
Review 9:From the moment we were greeted at the front desk we knew this hotel was going to be something special. The staff is amazing; the rooms were great and the views outstanding. This was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in.
Review 10:Nothing, Hotel Margherita really gets it right.
Review 11:The hotel owners and their wonderful staff provided presonalized service that consistently exceeded our expectations and enhanced our stay. This is a wonderful location and I would not consider staying anywhere else if I were to return.
Review 12:The hotel was elegantly decorated with lovely furniture. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Views from the balcony took my breath away. Lovely food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Perfect place to stay!
Review 13:The staff and owner I assume were excellent, on arrival we were informedthat there had been a mistake in the booking. We had a night at a veryreduced price in a room that was acceptable and the second night we wereupgraded in to a lovely room. We did have an option to move hotels butso glad we chose not to. We will be going back and will recommend thishotel to friends. Information on the area was welcome and informative.Shuttle service was brilliant. I have never posted a review before butthis hotel was so nice I felt I should.
Review 14:Upon arrival at Hotel Margherita, our every question was anticipated and every need attended to. This hotel is run like a tight ship. Staff are incredibly friendly and accomodating. Rooms were thoroughly clean and tastefully appointed. Dinner twice in the M'ama Restaurant starring chef Andy was stunning. Will happily return from Australia.
Review 15:a little hard finding the hotel. the presentation before we could check in was a little long, but the drinks were a nice touch.
Review 16:they were able to get our laundry done, even though it was late, view is great, dinner was nice, breakfast was very nice
Review 17:All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly.,the hotel is high up so great views, and the staff run you down and pick you up from the beach whenever you like. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff , felt very well looked after. Would absolutely recommend. Great location. 10 mins from Amalfi and positiano , regular bus outside hotel door. The staff are a great asset of this hotel
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:Wonderful place to stay. A warm and welcoming family run hotel perched up on the mountains in Praiano with an amazing view from the room and the restaurant of the coast. Perfect place to sip prosecco and just relax. Suela is the perfect host and really makes sure you are taken care of. She kindly upgraded our room so three adults would be more comfortable. They provide a free service to pick you up and take you to the beaches and to the town centre. The roads up to the hotel are steep so this service is very welcome. Breakfasts are terrific and they will cook what ever you want. The restaurant is great and Andy the chef is very good and Luigi is a wonderful friendly and extremely professional waiter.
Review 20:The Amalfi Coast is just too crowded for driving. I wish we'd been encouraged to take a bus rather than drive to Ravello.
Review 21:Suela and all the staff were great. We were met with a warm welcome and a cold Prosecco. Wonderful restaurant - lovely not to have to walk anywhere - and stunning view.
Review 22:The view, the location for exploring the area, the food, the facilities and on top of all - the staff, that can't help you enough, we thank them all. You'll have the best amalfian-coast vacation with this hotel, look no further.
Review 23:Not really a negative - the hotel location entails a steep walk from the main road. But if you tell them in advance they are more than willing to drop and pick you up from the bus stop without hesitation
Review 24:-Suela & Andrea make you feel very comfortable and the entire staff is there to help with a smile. - Great dinner at the restaurant and a good breakfast buffet as well
Review 25:Not that the following were too bad. Just something to keep in mind if they are important for you. WiFi connection was a bit poor. The location is quite distant from the sea. Truth to be said, there are buses going down the town and the hotel also provides free rides so not a big issue. We found the room a bit small but again this wasn't a deal breaker for us given that the interior and the comfort was supreme.
Review 26:The staff is outstanding. Everyone is 100% customer focused and made sure we were happy and we had everything we needed. We even got a new room with sea view once one was available the next day we arrived. That was really a nice gesture from the owner.
Review 27:The staff are great, the views from the hotel are lovely. We only stayed for one night but the hotel definitely made an impression - from the sparkling wine upon check in to the complimentary water bottles we were given for the journey when we left. The restaurant was super, the English chef cooks up a storm!
Review 28:The staff was incredible, made us feel at home right away and so accommodating. The food was some of the best we had in Italy, and the view from the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking. We couldn't have been happier staying here on honeymoon.
Review 29:That our stay was so short!
Review 30:What a fantastic place to stay! Suela and her staff are wonderful, and the bus to Positano is right outside the front door. It's 10 minutes to Posi. Praiano is very quiet, so you will have fabulous downtime after a busy day in Posi or Capri. The food in the restaurant M'ama is truly excellent. I will dream of the Double Caprese salad (all local with a provenance) forever. Suela strongly recommended that we take the semi-private yacht to Capri, and I cannot thank her enough for the suggestion. It was well worth the money, and a highlight of our terrific trip. Thank you Suela, I will tell everyone I know that Hotel Margherita is fabulous!
Review 31:Some very loud guests but not the hotel's fault
Review 32:Good location for a wedding in Positano but nice quiet location for us. Free shuttle within Praiano. Organisation perfect.
Review 33:We liked the friendly staff and the lovely situation in Praiano. It was away from the touristy parts of the Amalfi coast. Wish we had known to get them to send a car to pick us up from naples. The sita bus from sorrento was a bad experience.
Review 34:Your site said it was 4 star + and but was 3, no lift, up a winding road from the beach, old decor.
Review 35:Amazing coastline, lovely staff and great view from my balcony
Review 36:wifi
Review 37:Overall it is and outstanding hotel!!! Views are out of this world, great staff and fantastic owners ( thank you Suela for everything), nice breakfast, excellent location, highly recommended!!
Review 38:Rather basic Poor internet connection Very expensive for standard and quality of amenities Tired and worn facilities Tiny pool
Review 39:Lovely staff Peaceful location
Review 40:I couldn't get the wifi to work & it required that you login through your personal accounts vs. supplying a password.
Review 41:The hotel is located right in the middle of the Amalfi Coast so it's easy to get to different cities. There is also a shuttle service that can drive you to different locations within Praiano. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful and the hotel itself was very charming and comfortable.
Review 42:We were traveling with my brother and his family. They stayed at a different location. The owners of the hotel were so kind to arrange day trips for al of us including transfer. They also arranged transfers for the evening diners. We made beautiful memories.
Review 43:Nothing to dislike.
Review 44:This is a lovely hotel, with a fantastic view, a nice pool which the kids loved. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We love this hotel, and will strongly recommend it.
Review 45:Leaving the hotel to come home, no problems, concerns, and if there was, you know it would have been fixed immediately.
Review 46:Friendliness, location, food, relaxed atmosphere, views from the room and restaurant terrace, and spacious room with A/C. spotlessly clean with pool and gym, and wonderful happy smiling staff.
Review 47:The hotel was beautiful and the cleanest hotel I have ever been in! I loved waking up and looking out of our balcony seeing the blue sea and the lush gardens with lemon trees and vegetables growing. Suela, her family and staff were the nicest; so helpful and cheerful with all our travel plans. Excellent breakfast in a big bright room with an option to eat on a balcony with a spectacular view. Had a wonderful dinner which is roof top amidst the moutain overlooking the Amalfi coast. Food was delicious, we had fresh vegetables from their garden. We picked the fish we wanted and they made a fabulous pasta dish with it. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Review 48:Very helpful staff Extra thoughtful touches...a welcome prosecco, bottles of cold water at our departure, an upgrade to a wonderful apartment. At hotel margherita, they have thought about everything. Highly recommended.
Review 49:The passion of the owners for their Hotel comes over in the attitude and friendliness of all the staff. A lovely roof terrace restaurant with excellent food at reasonable prices. The in room/bathroom amenities puts this Hotel more in the 4* category.
Review 50:This is a family run hotel and makes you feel part of the family yet delivers excellent service. They go out of their way to make your holiday perfect. The views are amazing, the room is small but has everything you need.
Review 51:The private ride to town centre and the beach was great and along the way, the staff will point out interesting sights to us. The staff was very personal as well. Breakfast was good and dinner which was included in our room price was just fabulous. The view from the restaurant including our room was awesome. I was very impressed that the hotel even provided things like bathroom slippers and bath robes.
Review 52:The lobby coffee tables and bookshelves need cleaning.
Review 53:This hotel is well located in Praiano which is between the town of Positano and Amalfi. Both are about 35 min bus ride away. Bus stop is in front of the hotel, very easy to get around. The hotel also offers a free shuttle. The breakfast also offers omelettes, fresh orange juice. We stayed in room 16 which had a very large balcony housing a hut tub, exterior king bed - yes there's also a bed inside the room :), table and chairs. The restaurant is a bit pricier but the food is excellent, free prosecco and limoncello seems to be standard. We got a special price on booking.com with no cancellation and recvd a great deal. We usually stay in 4 + star hotels. This hotel punches above its weight. We will be definetly returning to this hotel....very highly recommended.
Review 54:Nothing!
Review 55:Absolutely fab! We had a great time, made all the more special by the hotel. The staff were so attentive and made each and every guest feel welcome. Nothing was too much for them (my husband was ill during our stay and they couldn't have been more helpful). The room was big and exceptionally clean. Breakfasts were great, and even included fresh omelets made to order, bread, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. The hotel offered a taxi service down to the village which was really handy. The village is lovely with a nice (but steep) walk down to the coast. It was really handy to have a hotel that offered free parking. We ate at the hotel every night, something we very rarely do. The food was delicious and the wine great. Food was reasonably priced for the area and we really enjoyed it. The hotel has a small pool and terrace area. It's lovely to sit out at night with the most spectacular views of the coastline. Overall we had a great time, thank you for making it really special for us!
Review 56:Extremely service minded family driven hotel, everything is possible. Location, and view. Praiano is wellsituated between the more touristic places Amalfi and Positano, with a busstop just outside the hotel. Good restaurant if you want to eat at the hotel.
Review 57:Wifi was down more than it was up. That presented a problem when trying to get caught up with work. Moral there is: leave work behind!
Review 58:Gorgeous hotel, friendly and accommodating staff, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable room, convenient for getting buses to the nearby towns.
Review 59:We had no negative experiences: any problems were swiftly resolved in a friendly way. Good job.
Review 60:The hotel is on the 'quiet' side of Praiano, with a serene southern view. As we got to know the town, people in the area when they heard we were at the Hotel Margherita uniformly said 'that it is the best hotel in town'. Don't be fooled by the three-star rating: the staff is very accommodating, Suela and her husband, who run it, go out of their way to be helpful, extending their free shuttle service to keys points or restaurants beyond the stated time, simply to accommodate a guest; the rooms are lovely, the pool very useable, the upstairs terrace a great place to relax during the day or eat at night. The staff park your car for you in the hotel garage, which is a great convenience in this area, and the atmosphere in the hotel manages to be at once classy and relaxed. Praiano lacks the overwhelming tourism of Positano or Amalfi, yet provides easy bus service to both, and has its own set of good to excellent restaurants. Try Kasai just up the hill from the hotel... You can find more expensive places, but you will be hard-pressed to find better.
Review 61:-Staff was outstanding -Location was perfect away from the buzz of Positano -Very comfortable bed -Anazing terrace view -Free car service was convenient -Great spread for breakfast
Review 62:Excellent breakfasts, with lots of fruit and cereal, and omelettes made to order. On arrival, hotel staff meet you at the Praiano bus stop, and take you to the hotel for welcome and local info.
Review 63:Everyone was so nice (owners and staff)at the hotel and the food in the restaurant was the best. They really tried to make sure every aspect of our trip was taken care of from providing us with maps to helping book our tour of Capri. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 64:Nothing to say. I already want to go back!
Review 65:Pretty much everything. The attention of the owners was the best, they are very kind and easy going. The location provides for amazing views of the ocean. Our room had a private balcony and a hot tub, it was a dream. And the restaurant is excellent. Both breakfast and dinner (not included) were remarkable meals. Everything is fresh, coming directly from their gardens.
Review 66:I am nitpicking but the WiFi wasn't reliable. Let's face it though, you don't stay somewhere like this to spend your day on the internet!
Review 67:Loved the views, staff were so freindly and helpful, great hotel.
Review 68:Lovely location with a beautiful view from the room. Friendly and helpful staff. A nice welcoming atmosphere. Wonderful breakfast and great great restaurant. Free parking right outside the hotel.
Review 69:Nothing special about this hotel. Nice view if you invest in higher floor, we got 1st floor room next to the stairs. Heard neighbor TV at night. We traveled Amalfi coast and stayed every night in the new place, this hotel was the most expensive, so our expectation were high - we were disappointed upon arrival. It is ok, but not the best u can get for this money in this region.
Review 70:The WIFI is spotty.
Review 71:When we walked in we were offered a glass of wine. The staff is fabulous. Suela is so helpful and flexible. She took my husband to the pharmacy at night when he needed something. She was helpful with directions and knowledgeable about the area. She arranged for the owner of a local restaurant to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel. I have never had this kind of experience. I would stay here again.
Review 72:Nothing.
Review 73:A real luxury home living in this hotel. The staf, the atmosfere and view from the balcony and restaurant is amazing. It worth more than 3 stars.
Review 74:Restaurant was overwhelmed and took very long time for meals to arrive. Wifi was so so.
Review 75:Amazing views, helpful and friendly staff, family atmosphere, huge room
Review 76:Loved the location, the rooms were roomy and the views were magnificent. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast included in cost of rooms.
Review 77:The brackfast a little bit poor And its a little dirty in the loby/the brackfast area
Review 78:The staff was great! They helped in everything!! The location of the hotel !is perfect !The dinner also was great
Review 79:Leaving.
Review 80:We travel a lot....business and pleasure. We have never...ever...received the care and attention that we received here and we've stayed at some top rated hotels. Lovely people willing to make your stay perfect. The breakfast, which is included, is FABULOUS! Our room had a beautiful terrace with a beautiful view. Plus! (As if that weren't enough) you are a short trip to anywhere in Amalfi, including Capri.
Review 81:very nice staff, and excellent restaurant with breakfast and dinner of really good quality. This is one out of the box and would recommend this to anyone travelling to the Amalfi. Everybody was helpful, friendly and courteous. This is of a high standard Nd very good value.
Review 82:The breakfast was so-so but the fresh omelette station was a great option!
Review 83:Staff was amazing! They couldn't be nicer or more helpful. They would deliver beautiful coffee to the room in the morning. Always asked how they could help! Gennaro was awesome!
Review 84:There was nothing we did no like about this hotel.
Review 85:This is a small hotel with a big personality. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are traditional and the beds so comfy. The variety of food and quality of wine in the restaurant is excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return for another stay in the future.
Review 86:nothing for us but the location may not suit all if you dont like walking
Review 87:everything - quiet location helpful owners great views transport down the hill if needed ( and up again too!) good breakfast selection good sized room with small balcony and ocean views good variety of local restaurants including the one attached to the hotel
Review 88:The location of the hotel on a hill in quiet Praiano means you can't really just go out and walk around. We did it in the first day and were so so regretful. I think the staff should warn people about the hard climb back (especially when my wife is 6 months pregnant) or offer a shuttle also from the town center. Anyways this shouldn't be a problem cause the alternatives are great: shuttle to the beach, bus to Positano, day trip with your car to Ravello or just staying at the hotel and eat in the good restaurant 20 meters from it, or in its own (expansive) restaurant on the roof.
Review 89:Such a great, welcoming and cute staff. I might be wrong but I think they are all family somehow. The hotel has a private shuttle to a perfect, "secret" beach with great restaurants, and you can take it there and back any time you want (plus beach towel bags). The view from the room is amazing and we loved the outdoor pool. Very easy traveling by bus right from the hotel to Positano (15 minutes). The free parking service is priceless.
Review 90:If there is one thing. The shower in our room is a little bit small.
Review 91:Super friendly and helpful staff make every effort to make your stay relaxed and seamless.
Review 92:We had made reservations to eat at the B&B's restaurant. Mama's. The service was slow at first...then completely let us down in the end my losing track of our order after they brought the first course. We had a driver picking us up @ 5:30AM the next morning and it took the restaurant staff until 10:00P to bring our main course. We were disappointed that Suela nor the servers apologized for the mishap...nor did they even offer us a cappuccino on the house or a free dessert. Ofcourse there is a possibility that Suela was unaware that this occurred So we do not fault Suela automatically but think she should be aware that this happened. Consequently, we do not recommend the restaurant since we feel the wait staff are too inexperienced to handle mistakes and the layout of the facility seems to cause them to "forget" we were even there!
Review 93:We were well taken care of and Suela made sure our every need was handled. We were picked up from the bus stop....and driven to a restaurant our first night since we were new to the area and unfamiliar with getting around. Our room balcony had a picture perfect view of the Bay of Naples. We awoke our first morning to a Sunrise that brought tears to my eyes! And although we did not use the pool, it was available for us and convenient with great views. The breakfast was good and the staff preparing it was available for anything we would want. We wanted to see some of the other areas of the Amalfi coast and Suela got us a driver and map within 20 minutes of our request. We planned a day in Ravello...which we HIGHLY recommend. It is such a gorgeous town, spacious and at the very top of the area. Pictures would blow you away. We got an itinerary from Suela that did not disappoint. She knows her stuff.
Review 94:I could not say more about this hotel. It is run by a wonderful family and they go out of their way to help every guest. The breakfast is delicious with everything you could want and they're always there asking how else they can help you. They'll drive you to the two beaches in town, restaurants and any shopping near by from 8-7pm. They will also make dinner reservations for you at any restaurant. If you are arriving to Praiano make sure you call the hotel so they can pick you up so you do not have to drag your luggage up the steep hill! The views are gorgeous and the rooms are very clean! If I ever come back to the Almafi coast, I will definitely stay here again!!!
Review 95:This is one of our favourite hotels. It is so well run by the family who own it. It is in a stunning position with amazing views. The rooms are very well equipped and the free parking is fantastic. The rooftop restaurant is very special with fantastic food and superb views and at night - wonderful! Sipping a cold glass of wine on the rooftop after a great day on this incredible coast is fabulous. The local bus stops at the door and it is so easy to go to Positano or Amalfi by this bus. The pool is a great asset too. We cannot wait to return sometime soon.
Review 96:Not much
Review 97:The staff was great. The breakfast was homemade and fresh. The views were excellent. There was a shuttle service which was helpful with all the hills. Did I say the service
Review 98:Zero.. We did not pay attention to the hotel site when they offered to pick you up from the bus site. Do it!! It is quite a long hike up hill with your luggage.
Review 99:The hotel and more importantly, the staff were absolutely fabulous. They were available 24/7 with helpful information and an always pleasant attitude. The food at the hotel was delicious and the room and facility in general were exceptionally clean. We can not say enough positive comments about the hotel. If possible, we will return.
Review 100:Restaurant needs a wind block. We froze the last night there. Blankets were not sufficient
Review 101:Suela and her husband did everything possible to assist guests including getting a Dr. Transporting to bus stop, arranging for a driver. The location is out of this world and you are greeted onn arrival with glass of proseco. We thought we arrived into heaven. Highly recommend.
Review 102:Hotel Restaurant food is not fabulous, you can eat better down the road from the hotel.
Review 103:Fabulous, helpful staff, family run business, Suella was so helpful to accommodate all our requests.
Review 104:Couldn't fault the hotel in anything. Very helpful staff. Absolutely great views! The restaurant has good food with the most stunning views and ambience. Family run hotels are by far a better choice than well known chains.
Review 105:My daughter and her friends stayed here last year and recommended it. The staff was magnificent. Any plans could be arranged, the restaurant was very good and the view was to die for. The pool area was nice and relaxing and a great breakfast was served daily.. I also liked the fact that it was slightly off the beaten track so much quieter, and less people. It is a great place for walking and getting a feel for the Italian culture. The quiet streets and hidden stairways outside the hotel take you to unbelievable vistas that I could sit and stare out all day. Great place
Review 106:It was a little bit noisy, we could hear other (loud) guests next door early in the morning...but nothing that would put me off staying at the hotel.
Review 107:Free shuttle bus service, helpful and friendly staff. nice touches throughout e.g. drink on arrival, beach towels provided, tourist tips provided. Lovely breakfast, free parking. The restaurant served amazing food at reasonable prices. The view from the restaurant terrace is stunning. The staff really couldn't have been nicer.
Review 108:For this hotel, the reality is even better than the pictures. The room was luxurious, beautiful, comfortable and spacious as was the bathroom. The private ocean view balcony was fantastic. The sun deck and pool were wonderful and the breakfasts were the best we had in Italy. Perhaps the highlight was the 4 fantastic dinners we had at the hotel's restaurant. The food was some of the best we had in Italy and the views were unbeatable. The menu has enough options that I strongly recommend getting the half-board option, even if you are staying for a full week. The hotel is family run and delivers excellent service!
Review 109:Nothing!!!
Review 110:This is an absolutely charming hotel where nothing is too much trouble. The advice and information on arrival is super and the staff really put themselves out. We needed a mechanic to look at our car and they helped us with that. We had a sea view with balcony which was perfect, the room was delightful and was well equips. The pool was lovely and they provide towels which you can also take to the beach which the hotel free shuttle will take you to. Honestly not a bad word to say about this romantic and charming hotel.
Review 111:The only downside of the hotel is the location. It is located on a mountain outside of a smaller village. But the views fully offset that!
Review 112:The owner and her staff are absolutely amazing. They will get any request done with a smile. The hotel has a shuttle to get you to other restaurants and the beach. The rooms are large and very clean. The views from the hotel are flat out amazing. The hotels sits 500 feet above the ocean. The rooftop restaurant's views are panoramic. The memory foam mattresses are first rate. The hotel just feels "comfortable."
Review 113:everything is perfect!!!! PRAIANO Is so beautiful I'll be back and this lovely place is still my first choice!!!! Their restaurant their tour service, taxi service, just don hesitate to book!! 真的非常棒,如果要来普莱亚诺留宿这里是不会失望的选择的.
Review 114:Small saltwater pool
Review 115:Good quiet and peaceful location, away from main tourist areas of the Amalfi Coast. Very friendly helpful staff, superb restaurant, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast.
Review 116:Poor enough acoustic isolation of the rooms. You can hear the snoring of neighbours at night very easily or if you've got a neighbour at next-door apartment who gets up with the sun and likes just to turn on TV on a high volume till taking shower or whatever, you are very unlucky.
Review 117:Optimal size family hotel, cozy quiet township, warm and friendly staff.
The Fine Print
Please note that the shuttle service to the beach and city centre runs until 19:00.
