Reviews for Hotel Casavieja

Review 1:The night clerk was quite drunk early in the morning when we were supposed to go to Palenque. He was of no help. The recommendation for the tour could have been much better.

Review 2:Close to downtown. A very beautiful place.

Review 3:Room was a bit drafty and there is no central heating in a very cool climate, although we had a plug in heater that was sufficient.

Review 4:The atmosphere is beautiful. Very classic Spanish colonial house. Super clean and in an excellent location for walking, shopping and eating. Staff was helpful. Access to computer and Wi-Fi a convenience

Review 5:Nothing! Great hotel!

Review 6:Hotel was gorgeous! Warm comfortable blankets on the bed!

Review 7:no safe in room

Review 8:Atmosphere, Staff & Location are all excellent

Review 9:The staff was just average. The bathroom was tiny and lower floor room a little bit noisy. No fridge in our room.

Review 10:Location

Review 11:It seems like the hotel owners think that because they have a nicecolonial building in a good location - they need to do nothing more.1. Hotel noise insolation is TERRIBLE - you can hear every noise from the outside as well as every noise from the inside (all rooms face a patio). Really - every footstep, every other guest talking in the patio, every car passing - horrible. 2. Terrible ventilation - rooms have no airconditioning, no fans, and even the windows are a joke: only a small strip at the upper part of the glass can be opened. that's a tiny slot of window that is absolutely not enough to bring fresh air into the room. and again - no a/c, no fan. 3. We asked to move to another room that is more inner (to avoid hearing the noise from the street) and more upper (in hopes to get more air). The alternative room they gave us contained HUNDREDS of ants strolling on a decoration net above the bed!!! So we were again moved to another room. the other (third) room they gave us was still hot and not ventilated. again, no a/c, no fan, and the "window" is a joke. 4. Atop of all - the staff didn't speak a single word in English. Luckily for me my Spanish was adequate to express our problems. Regardless of the situation, a place that calls itself a "hotel" and welcomes tourists from other nations - should need to have workers with at least a basic level of English. To sum up - if you like paying high rates like in a hotel and feel like in a bad hostel - go there. If not - avoid this place by all means. I think it's worth to mention that as a compensation, the hotel staff gave us a decent discount and free breakfast, but it would have been better to avoid this place in the first place.
