Review 1：Restaurant was closed due to renovations. This was not noted when booking was made by Booking.com. Nearby cafe was closed on weekend, so could not get breakfast, was not told by staff. No face washers supplied in bathroom.

Review 2：Room was clean and tidy.

Review 3：The beds were absolutely disgustingly hard and mattresses were very old. A change in mattresses would make this a very competetive option for travellers.

Review 5：The hot water pressure dropped occasionally (but it was still quite hot), And sometimes got whiff of cigarettes from the nearby balcony smoking area.

Review 6：Used to live nearby, so very much enjoyed being so 'close to home'. Could walk everywhere I wanted.

Review 7：Not clean. No fotell even with it advertised. Apparently you have to be in a non standard room to get it. Toilet door locks if you are not carefull the curtains are dirty esp in the bathroom and if you are not careful thr neighbours can see you in the shower as no window to close... Cost to much for a extra bed as you cannot book for 3 or more adults on line.

Review 9：We have used the Comfort Chain several times but this did not meet expectations. Two plastic chairs but no table for coffee or writing. Shower over the bath which was a tiled bath and not a conventional bathtub. Over-priced for a very basic queen room. The Restaurant next door was apparently independant to the property - used a couple of times but not overly impressed.

Review 12：The staff were friendly at both the hotel reception and the adjoining restaurant. They looked after our bags whilst we were away on a three day tour. Rooms had air-conditioning, coffee making facilities and fridge.

Review 18：The rooms are clearly marked, 'no smoking', this apparentlydoesn't apply to staff members who live on-site. My stay was spoiltby a rude and inconsiderate staff member smoking in the room oppositemine. When I politely approached the 'lady' I was told,'we're smokers, go and see the manager if you want to changerooms...'. I won't ever stay here again and if you're a non-smoker I would not recommend this property.

Review 21：only about a ten minute walk to the centre and most of the local amenities, the price was good but was about right for the property and the stall were very helpful.

Review 22：We arrived as the staff were leaving for their Christmas meal. They waited to help us collect our keys and made sure we were given all the information we needed. In the morning we were able to leave our luggage and helped with directions even taking a photo of us with our camper van!! Couldn't fault them.

Review 23：- It's complicated to join the staff when you arrive after the check-in time. The phone they indicated to use didn't work and we should call another number and pay a high price from our international phone. - It wasn't possible to control air conditioner settings.

Showed up after hours and had to figure it out and get the key from the safe box. Safe in the room, but had a Fred Flintstone key and tiny size safe. Tiny ants on the TV table but negligible.

Review 70：first room lacked space for clothes, particularly drawers and this resulted in the room feeling congested and untidy. Second room 123 a lot better but hand basin is loose and the shower has a high pitch whistle.

Review 71：All the hotel staff were particularly friendly, helpful and generous with their knowledge of areas to visit. Any problems were quickly addressed and everything done with a smile!

Review 72：Swimming pool did not look particularly inviting and the owners certainly didn't encourage its use! Only one person on the desk at any one time. We had to wait some time when checking in and out.

Review 73：Very convenient for the beach front and town centre if you don't mind a 10 minute walk. The fact that it is a little bit out of the centre accounts for the below average price of the room. There are no frills and spills about this place but it is more than sufficient for a base from which to explore Cairns. Baggage storage was very useful for us as we had a few hours to kill before going to the airport. The owners were also very helpful when ringing the shuttle bus to help us organise our return to the airport.

Review 77：The cleaners kept turning the aircon off, so I'd arrive back to a stinking hot room, they also knocked on my door to clean the room at about 8.30am on a Saturday, bit early if you're after a sleep in or had a big night. The little kitchenette could've come equipped with some cutlery but all that's supplied is wine glasses and a couple of tea cups and saucers.

Review 79：We got off to a bad start when - within 10 seconds of turning the light on in the room, the cockroaches scuttled for new hiding places and I had to spend quite a bit of time killing and cleaning the goo up. As reception closes in the evening (we checked in by phoning a virtual receptionist company for a code to the keybox) there was nobody to ask for bug spray/another room. They say "oh but it's the tropics" - we live on the equator and whilst there are millions of cockroaches they ain't in your house unless it ain't clean! Otherwise a little dingy round the edges. Pool is not appealing at all - looks grubby and is tiny.

Review 85：Woken up one morning by the bin collection but Hey Ho! TV was a bit basic but if you are at the Barrier Reef with good bars and restaurants, why would you watch TV?

Review 86：Did what it said on the tin. Reasonable price. Walking distance - 15 mins of main drag but quiet surroundings which I wanted. Good restaurant open for reasonably priced breakfast and dinner. Happy hour at the bar. Receptionists could not have been more helpful. If I return to Cairns I will stay again for sure.

The staff was exceptional and far exceeded expectations in helping us secure reservations to the rain forest/Kurandi which I thought I had made from home previously. They also offered great dining suggestions. Also loved the fact that they had on-site laundry facilities.
