Review 1：Anthea, the manager, is the spirit of this comfortable house located in a quiet part of the town with a beautiful garden. The property is secluded and with just 3 extremely well decorated modern rooms let you feel at home for the first moment. Anthea, besides providing us with a lot of insights, surprised us with a in home dinner overlooking the garden. This increased the wellbeing feeling: good food, enchanthing view, privacy and a lot of chat. Our suggestion: do not miss this place whilst organisining your Tongariro visit!
Review 2：Really quiet and interesting property well laid out and has the opportunity to be a real family affair. The cottage next door was also exceptional and great for extended families, on our next visit we will use this lodge as our base for a longer period of time in the area
Review 3：Loved the warm atmosphere of River Birches, but we especially enjoyed getting to know Anthea and Bill...so kind and welcoming as they addressed our every need.
Review 4：The lodge is elegant and serene. The innkeeper, Anthea, anticipates your every need and then some. We had an excellent breakfast each am. Anthea advised us where to hike and also where to have dinner. She also showed us how to download a bird recognition ap for our I-phone.
