Reviews for Casa do Ameal

Review 1:Despite the cooler weather, our host had heaters all ready to warm our apartment.

Review 2:Our apartment was comfortable and quiet. The rooms were a nice size, each with its own bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. The grounds of Casa do Ameal are lovely with a beautiful pond as you enter the gates.

Review 3:Nothing negative. We want to return and stay while to relax, roam the gardens, see the nearby town and enjoy more especially good breakfast and the best coffee we had in 2 weeks in Portugal.

Review 4:Charming place like being in a fairy tale. Our apartment had stone walls, interesting furniture, a small and well-equipped kitchen, good shower and comfortable beds, and an upstairs sitting room. Isabel was like an angel, helping us with bad news we received soon after arrival, making calls to airline and being very kind.

Review 5:The grounds and accomodation are absolutely beautiful, it's a paradise that you don't want to leave. The staff are so friendly, warm and helpful...we loved everything about Casa do Ameal!!

Review 6:A long walk into town centre. Wifi only available outside but as weather was hot and sunny did not matter

Review 7:Lovely host, very friendly and helpful. Much bigger than studio I was expecting. Great breakfast

Review 8:Mix up with the booking-didn't get the facilities we had booked.no refund offered and we had to wait until someone checked out before we could be moved to the room with cooking facilities which we had booked, so we had to pay for meals out when we should have been self catered.very dark rooms.

Review 9:Location, pool and bathing area. Friendly staff.

Review 10:Kitchen practically nonexistent. Immediate area lacking in atmosphere and no welcome items such as water, milk etc

Review 11:The garden was a nice place to relax and the room was spotlessly clean. Within half hours drive to Ponto do lima which is definitely worth visiting

Review 12:Beautiful surroundings, great breakfast !

Review 13:Gorgeous place and excellent customer service

Review 14:Excellent location on the edge of the town within walking distance, lovely gardens and pool to relax in after the hot day, small kitchen gives options for self-catering, great breakfast included.

Review 15:The surroundings aren't great - supermarket on one side, modern apartment blocks on the other. The walls look hefty but must be too thin as you can hear people next door. On our second night the man in the next door bedroom was extremely noisy, first deciding to have a lengthy conversation on his mobile phone at 3 o'clock in the morning, then banging doors, and having another chat on his mobile! When he finally went to sleep he snored very loudly! We hardly got any sleep, but made sure we made a lot of noise very early in the morning! Compared to other accommodation quality we have had in Portugal, and we have travelled around a lot, it is a little over-priced.

Review 16:The Quinta is beautiful and a welcome surprise, as the surroundings are apartment blocks and a supermarket! It is surprisingly peaceful despite its close proximity to roads. The garden is lovely as is the swimming pool. Our room was simple but lovely and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful despite my appalling command of Portuguese. Luckily the manager spoke some English. We were able to have an evening picnic on the terrace, which was very romantic. The Quinta is an easy 20 mns walk away from the centre of town and 10 mns walk from the nearest beach.

Review 17:Quinta do Ameal is a charming hotel with comfortable rooms, good amenities, and beautiful outdoor spaces. We enjoyed a picnic supper at a stone table outside our room under grape vines, as well as the private pool and table tennis. With a car it is a great venue to explore this region from.

Review 18:We couldn't find it. Instructions of how to get there were emailed afew days before our stay, when we had left our home and were not inemail accessibility so of no use at all. They should be sent some timebefore a visit or there be clear directions at booking.

Review 19:The gardens were interesting as well as the history of the family.
