Review 1：We got spacious comfortable room that overlook at city & castle. Breakfast was excellent. It took no more than ten minutes to reach the old city by foot. Private parking. Friendly staff.

Review 2：For anyone taking a train, the hotel is about a 2 minute walk to train station. The bar is large but yet not too loud as it is hidden in the back of lobby. The bartender Afonso is very friendly and focused on serving customers promptly. The bar could easily accommodate informal business meetings and I believe it is open until at leat midnite.

Review 3：It would have been lovely if there had been an outside bar or terrace. Having to lurk like a degenerate outside to enjoy a holiday cigarette was a pain

Review 6：Good location, walking distance to city center, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, private parking, rooms for smoking. Fitness center (swimming pool also) was included price, however is necessary to have head-cap in swimming pool, which you have to buy.

Review 7：Only critisism is that there is no kettle in the room with tea or coffee so every time I needed hot water for our little one had to go down to the bar.

Review 9：There is nothing to say.. it's a ten minute walk to The Toural (centre) which is easy and pleasant but if you have mobility challenges then there are plenty of taxis (4 euros).

Review 10：The hotel was modern, clean and maintained to a high standard. Our room was lovely and my partner sighed with delight as soon as we entered the room. We stayed for 2 nights and for anyone who Wi-Fi is important.. then they will have no worries with connectivity. We will certainly stay there again in the future. The staff are a delight and nothing is ever a challenge or an inconvenience. Well done Hotel Guimaraes!!

Review 11：Thank heavens for the SatNav to find it on the edge of town-the breakfast was far too expensive so we had it in a bar at a fraction of the price.

Review 51：The only think I was disappointed with was when we checked out of hotel the receptionist hardly looked at us and did not even ask if we had enjoyed our stay which we found to be very unfriendly and left us with an empty impression of the hotel. It is only a simple gesture but it means so much when staff are friendly and courteous to us.

Review 52：We liked the fact that it was so close to train station and then a lovely 10 minute into town centre which was perfect for us. The first room in the new part of the hotel was very luxurious and bed was really comfortable. Walk in Shower was a bonus. When we moved to second room which was in older part of hotel we liked the spaciousness with view into the town, but we found the bed was not the same quality and bathroom a bit dated but overall we liked the fact that it was so clean and the breakfast was most enjoyable, served fresh and plenty of variety.

Review 53：I was amazed by how nice the employees were, always willing to helpus find our way around the city (we were there for the EuropeanCulture Capital) and to provide us with information like what werethe best places to eat or the most important places to visit (we hadonly 2 days).Also, the room was really big, very clean and the bed was HUUUGE and comfortable. The cleaning ladies did an awesome job everyday and kept everything good as new. The location is also a big plus. You are at a 10 minute walk (if not less) from everything :) Big thumbs up.

Review 54：We were surprised for such a good hotel to find that the restaurant'sfood was really not good and way below our expectation , also theservice was not very well trained and we never returned to eat there.The bar is ok and a quick coffee or drink is pleasant as the lounge islarge and has a wonderful green view. The internet was not too stableand the person who was sent to help us was very rough in his mannerism,very argumentative and I.E. he grabbed my tablet and started to do allthese things despite of asking him to pls show me first what he wantedto change as I did not want him to take over , so we left it and did notuse internet . otherwise we were very satisfied with our stay. I thinkif some of the staff and service gets to be trained to be friendlier itwould be a great hotel to recommend nevertheless.

Review 55：We love the North of Portugal and the Minho region so we wanted to staylocally to tour the city more in details, the hotel is very central ashort walk to town. We had a wonderful double room which was larger thanin most hotels we stayed , the bathroom had two sinks which is alsowonderful , very clean, very friendly staff, but for the price I wouldexpect such a level of room and service. The breakfast was good butwould never eat dinner in the restaurant. The receiption staff waswonderful , professional and friendly.

Review 61：Location was disappointing, our booking was a non smoking room we got a smoking room, we booked a room with 1 bed for 2 persons we goot two seperate beds, we booked an executive room with free wifi, however the signal was not strong enough so we had to go out of the room. When we told the personnel our complaints they basically told us " too bad ".
