Reviews for Guesthouse Iyonchi

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:The staff/owners were really kind and helpful. The village and the area are beautiful and we were right in the centre of it all. The breakfasts are wonderful - never enjoyed fish and rice first thing in the morning until now. Very clean, very organised, very enjoyable.

Review 3:No meals provided. I had to walk through the common area and from under the roof to get to the shower area. However, I didn't mind it, considering the low price, island vibe, and that I was staying in a dorm.

Review 4:Very, very clean and welcoming. Owned by a husband and wife with small children. Saw the owner extensively clean the showers, rooms, and facilities each morning. Very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. Female dorm price of 2,000 yen was probably the best price I could find on Zamami for one night, and the hostel was very warm and inviting. Futon were plush and comfortable. Very "beachy" feel. Cheap or free bike rentals. Right around the corner from the biggest grocery store on the island. Mini kitchen includes microwave, sink, large mini-fridge, utensils, and electric kettle. Convenient location right by the river that runs through town, so it's easy to find if the tiny alleyways confuse you. And, like most places on the island, it's mere minutes walking from the pier. The owners spoke enough English to help you out, but they appreciated that I spoke to them in Japanese.

Review 5:The room is basic but clean. The bathroom smelled awful (maybe from the water?) and the in-room shower is basically non-existent. Cold or hot showers available downstairs in the communal area.

Review 6:We LOVED Zamami! It's an amazing Island and worth the trip! The owners of this guesthouse were SO friendly, SO helpful and were available whenever we needed them. Snorkel and fin rental was very cheap.

Review 7:Everything was perfect! :-)

Review 8:We spent 4 wonderful days on Zamami Island in Iyonchi Questhouse. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. With an European eye the room seems to be a bit small but in Japan it has a standard size. The room had all the basic facilities, what we needed (two futon beds, fridge, hair dryer, air conditioner, balcony, kitchen equipments in the common area.) The surroundings of the accomodation is very quiet. The port takes about 5 minutes on foot, in addition Ama- and Furuzamami beaches are also nearby (5/10 minutes by bike). We liked the bike rental for a reasonable price. We thank "Iyonchi family" for everything again! And if we ever return to Zamami, we will stay here again for sure! :-)

Review 9:We spent five nights and everything was perfect: the owners were very helpful, when they weren't busy they took us to the beach, not far away 20' walk but with the hot was very helpful and they also took us to see the sunset. It is true that the kitchen does not have utensils to cook but It is not a problem because there are two supermarkets where you can buy cooked food and there is a microwave, plates and so on.

Review 10:could do with a cooking hob in order to cook simple meals when not wanting to eat out. only has microwave.

Review 11:comfortable air conditioned trad. Japanese tatami room, had the dorm to myself for two nights :-)) large out door communal area

Review 12:How awesome it was, that means I'll probably have a hard time finding a room in the future.

Review 13:The roof and hostess were superb. Wifi was steady and facilities both private and shared went beyond expectations.

Review 14:For a guesthouse, it would have been nice to add a small cooking stove to their ''Kitchen'' (microwave and kettle).

Review 15:The owners were so nice! comfortable futon.

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Minshuku owned by a lovely young couple who will do everything to make you feel welcome. They took us to see the sunset one night and offered very good advice on restaurants and things to see on the island. Spacious and spotlessly clean room, enough bathroom and shower rooms for everyone, never had to wait. Nice common area on the rooftop.

Review 18:Iyo san and his family were great people. They were very friendly and offered to show us around the island. The guesthouse itself had a great vibe to it and this feel is discovered all over the beautiful island!

Review 19:Extraordinary kind personel, clean beds and authentic Japanese living. Nothing to complain. Rental prices for snorkeling equipment might be a little high.

Review 20:You have to be lucky who the other guests are because you can hear a lot from other rooms and the shared terrace.

Review 21:Very friendly owners. We could rent snorkeling set and bikes for a very good price. Our room had a wooden floor and was clean and comfortable. I think this was one of the best options on the island for good price/quality

Review 22:The beds are futon style so some may find that a little challenging for their backs. Otherwise I can't fault it.

Review 23:The owner works hard to keep the property immaculate, and is both helpful and friendly. It's only a few minutes walk to the biggest store on the island and the shared kitchen has a fridge, microwave, kettle, cutlery, plates etc. It is also a walkable distance to both Ama Beach and Furuzamami Beach. Bath towels need to be rented too (100 yen each). Recommend you rent a room with an ensuite toilet as we did. Note hot showers are only available from 8am (I can't remember the finish time).

Review 24:The kitchen could really do with more facilities-the restaurants on the island are often closed so it's more necessary than you think! A toilet closer to the dorms would be great too.

Review 25:Fantastic place- Iyo was such a friendly guy, it's pretty social if you want to meet people, the futons are pretty comfortable, cheap snorkel and bike rental

Review 26:There s nothing bad to say about this place. I came during the low season, it was like having the place all to myself. Great location and friendly staff. For those independent types of travelers.

Review 27:A few more utilities in the kitchen would be nice, especially a toaster and a stove.

Review 28:We stayed four days with our two children, and enjoyed it very much. The couple running the place are extremely accomodating and very helpful.

Review 29:The accommodation is simple but has everything you need and it really extremely clean. The owners are very nice and helpful and can also help you with arranging things in Zamami. Definitely recommend!

Review 30:The doors are a little thin so you can hear noise from the patio easily. Luckily most guests seem fairly quiet.

Review 31:We had a great stay here. Friendly, helpful staff. Family-run business. Lovely tatami room and affordable price. Nice central location for exploring the island on foot. Best rental rate for bikes. Shared mini kitchen (microwave, electric kettle, dishes) and covered patio was nice for meals.

Review 32:There is a partially boarded entry at the front that caught both of is twice each on 4 separate events. People under 5 ft have no problem. Head bruises detract from stay.

Review 33:The room had a clean wood floor with balcony and tiny refrigerator. We had a private tiny bathroom, great for basic needs. Roofed outside common porch had comfortable deck chairs with microwave and fridge. Bike and snorkel rentals very reasonable. Great experience.

Review 34:Kitchen is quite basic, so don't expect to be cooking any meals there.

Review 35:This guesthouse offers traditional tatami mat and futon accomodation in shared or private rooms. I stayed in a shared room for one week. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the place is nice and clean. You can rent snorkeling gear and bicycle directly from the staff, and it is quite cheap in comparison to other rental places. By bike it takes just 10 minutes to go to either of the two main beaches. There are multiple lunch and dinner restaurants nearby, the Soba place just next door is especially good for lunch. I loved my stay and would love to come back again.

Review 36:Shower in the room only had cold water even after waiting for minutes for it to heat up. Downstairs communal showers were warm though. Other customers were quite loud outside in the evening and in the morning. My door had a pretty large gap so you could hear everything outside pretty clearly. Basically it's a place to stay in. You probably won't spend much time indoors anyway.

Review 37:Good location although nearly everything is close in such a small town. Everything was clean and the WiFi was fast and free. Good AC. Decently sized room.

Review 38:The location is not easy to find out.

Review 39:We spent one day in Zamami, because of the hospitality of Iyonchi's owners, we can enjoy more for beautiful Zamami. Thanks to Iyonchi's owners arrange many things for us.

Review 40:- Nothing particular. 特になし。

Review 41:- Owner and his family are very accommodating. オーナー家族はとても親切でした。日焼けの心配をしてアイスノンまで貸していただいたのは嬉しかったです。 - As a guesthouse, facility is simple but has everything we need. Mirrors in shared shower room, Free tea, Hair dryer, mosquito repellent, towels, hanger etc. ゲストハウスにしては何でもあった。ドライヤー、タオル、ハンガー一式、アースノーマット、さんぴん茶とか。

Review 42:Iyon and his wife were very nice and you could see they would do anything to satisfy their guests. Taking the bike and snorkeling gear was free. I very much recommend this place.

Review 43:Though no meal is provided as other hostels nearby offer, the guesthouse is conveniently located next to the two biggest restaurants in the town. Very nice staff and would recommend the Japanese style rooms with private bathroom and toilet.

Review 44:might get noisy if you are not lucky with neighbors, no lockers

Review 45:Maximum 4 persons per room, very friendly staff, inexpensive bike rental, roof terrace, clean

Review 46:Not to do with the venue, but remember to book your dinner if on a busy night.

Review 47:Good location, friendly staff and good value for money. The venue was being improved when we stayed and I'm curious to see what they'll make of it (it has enormous potential).

Review 48:a bit more comfort at roof terrace, bath, etc would be nice

Review 49:This will become a nice guesthouse but it still seem to be under construction. Owners are friendly and helpful. Bike rent is cheap.

Review 50:The staff was fantastic and even helped us book a helicopter ride back to mainland Okinawa and found other passengers to make it cheaper.

Review 51:if there is much more equipment at kitchen, would be perfect.
