Reviews for Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Koogerend
Review 1:We booked a room with a whirlpool but never got it. Instead we were stuck in a closet with a bed inside. The staff neither applogised or helped solve the problem. Noisy, small and definitely not worth the money!
Review 2:Although we had a comfortable stay, we think the hotel could do with some renovation. Carpets are old and smelly. Our bathroom room ceiling had a hole. Furniture in the bedroom was stained.
Review 3:Hotel's location was excellent, 10 min walk distance to the centre of Den Burg, which is very lively and pintoresque. Hotel staff was very friendly and food was great!
Review 4:The room was too small, shower was impossibly small, the toilet had faulty design.
Review 5:Good location, good staff. The gentleman who checked us in, was very helpful.
Review 6:The staff didn't speak good English, so that even rather basic communication was awkward. The breakfast times (until 09:30) and check-out times (10:30) are very early, not quite what I want when I'm on holiday. The only window in our room was a huge one, and they could see everything we did perfectly from the outside... unless we pulled out the shades, in which case we had to switch on lights to avoid being in total darkness. The price of the room was also really steep, although I suppose that's to be expected, given how popular a destination Texel is.
Review 7:The staff was flexible; initially they've tried to charge me more than the price we booked the room on, but upon showing them the booking confirmation, they've admitted their mistake and charged the correct amount. They also let us check out one hour later than the normal check-out time of 10:30 (which is very early!).
Review 8:It's just 5 minutues walking from the center of Den Burg, the street is really silent. The room is comfortable, the heater works perfectly (and you'll need it 350 days per year), the bathroom is always clean and the breakfast is really abundant and good. Overall, ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE STUFF are extremely kind: they're talkative and friendly, obviously they all speak perfect English, they booked a bus for me and checked the timetables for other public transport, for which they also sell tickets. If you go to Texel, go there!
Review 9:The Fletcher at Den Burg has very friendly atmosphere. The staff was very kind, all of our request were fulfilled very fast. Thank you so much for the rich breakfast bag, and the very delicious dinner at the cosy restaurant.
Review 10:Lack of: parking space, room space, cleanliness, heating... Comfort ingeneral. This is the first time I am writing a bad review butconsidering that only a week ago, in peak season! For the same price! Iwas enjoying on the Mediterranean coast, in a comfortable and very muchservice oriented 4/5 star hotel, this came as a huge shock. Anyway, please take my review with a grain of salt considering that my idea ofcomfort, acquired during the last 40 years of my life, might have gonesouth. To my surprise, the hotel's occupancy was 100% and all theguests seemed content with where they are. Good luck with it!!!
Review 11:Wi-Fi and breakfast were ok but I guess you can get the same service ina local cafe.
Review 12:Approachable and knowledgeable staff.
Review 13:Shabby hotel room, tiny space, not clean, overpriced.
Review 14:Location was good, free parking and wifi
Review 15:I ask beforehand to push the beds together, however my request was Not Fullfilled.
Review 16:We paid .130 gor a night amd although it was high season, that was way too much for a very small and noisy room
Review 17:Staff was friendly amd breakfast good
Review 18:Good location
Review 19:wifi unsecured
Review 20:good location, nice hotel etc
Review 21:Close to everything.
Review 22:bed comfortable food very good--breakfast and dinner
Review 23:Bed sheets smelled humidity.
Review 24:No tea/coffee making in rooms.
Review 25:Not enough staff - the poor lady who dealt with us at reception was also the only person waiting on tables at dinner
Review 26:Very friendly staff
Review 27:Noise carries a lot in the hotel, I was on the ground floor and next to the night exit. I could hear both the neighbours upstairs very loudly, and the people slamming the night entrance door at unsociable hours. Good thing I had to get up early in the morning for the conference I was attending, because sleeping in would have been impossible! I was also given a room on arrival that was more expensive than the one I'd booked.
Review 28:The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating for whatever requests or information I may have had. They were even prepared to give breakfast before the standard start of 8am, as we had a bus to catch every morning at 8.
Review 29:Beds were a bit worn out (although very clean) and it was a bit noisy.
Review 30:The price is including an awesome breakfast and that makes it definitely worth the money.
Review 31:We arrived on sunday so we needed a bike but the shop affiliated with the hotel was closed. So we rent a bike the day later because in the center rent bycicle shops are also closed on sunday. Better you know!
Review 32:Location 10 minutes walk from the center. Clean rooms and nice breakfast.
Review 33:Don't take a room at ground level - you will hear each step of your neighbours upstairs due to wooden floor! It was not possible to sleep at all, you could hear everything. The bathroom is very tiny. There are not many choices of food at the breakfast.
Review 34:Good location for a bicycle trip through the island. Staff prepared our room 3 hours earlier than stated in conditions.
Review 35:Too pricey for what it is. We only spent 109euro here because we booked last minute and literally every other hotel in Texel on Booking.com was taken. Rooms are beyond basic--no fridge, we had to ask for ice to chill our wine bottle.
Review 36:Excellent location. Den Burg was far far better than De Koog. The hotel is just close enough to the main square, Albert Heijn and really good biking trails. Staff was excellent and very helpful.
Review 37:I booked a triple room but got a double room. After the staff tried to convince me there is no triple room they put in a third bed in the already small double room. After seeing photos of the real triple room again failed to admit there was a mistake and told me that is not what i had reserved. At checkout they charged the normal price of a triple room with no apologies and a "nothing we can do" attitude.
Review 38:Great location, free parking, good WiFi speed.
Review 39:We were warmly welcomed by the staff. We booked a room with a spabath which wass really nice, the room was spacious and clean, the beds are good size and comfortable. Great hotel
Review 40:In the room description, it was written the room (double with whirlpool) should have 25 squared meter. In reality, it is only the half of it! The rooms are very noisy. When the neighbours turn the whirlpool on, you cannot concentrate anymore...
Review 41:They accept house animals.
Review 42:Musty smelling room, meant we had to leave the window open and increase the heating.
Review 43:Friendly staff, quaint feeling to building and easy walking into center of Den Burg.
Review 44:Noisy, i had a single room and even for one it felt cramped. Worst location in the hotel, directly at the stairs, wall to wall with the showers. Very very noisy
Review 45:The price
Review 46:Evening Dinner could improve - was not good Not everyone has a car: The Hotel could be a drop off point for the Bike Rental company The Hotel chould have Bus information and Bus cards available
Review 47:The location Staff friendly and most of the staff is chosen from the Island folk which suits this Hotel and its location. It is great. Staff is friendly professional and not pretentious. A super professional business Hotel school trained staff does not suit the location and this Hotel. Some of the staff was typical Hotel school staff and is not necessary. Breakfast was good - the service during breakfast was guest orientated and happy, friendly
Review 48:It didn't worth thr money. There was one bathroom per floor without a window which was annoying.. We asked for the dinner but they served it from 6 to 7 pm..no longer! Same breakfast was till 9 .30. Didn't like it so much...
Review 49:Good breakfast and good position respect the island.
Review 50:House wine for dinner strangely expensive, asked to see the wine list at dinner and was responded to with, lots of the wines on the list aren't available. So requested 2 caraffes house red (250 mL each) without asking to look at the price and saw upon check out that the wine was around 12 EUR per 250 mL. That was a bit of a shock. Not sure if we were ripped off or just that it was hugely marked up house wine. An itemized receipt for the dinner was not placed with our bill at check-out so it wasn't clear to us. Also booking a double room with spa bath. The room (Number 5) has two separate beds together (which is quite normal) but they are of different sizes and heights. Although this wasn't hugely different it wasn't what we expected for the price and for what what some people might assume to be a romantic weekend away, paying the extra for a spa bath. Luckilly the spa bath replaces the need to use a bed for all but the bare essentials like sleeping.
Review 51:The breakfast was very nice as was the spa bath. Friendly hotel staff also. Dinner was okay for the price EUR 24.50.
Review 52:The location
Review 53:- Room:- 1 matras worn out. - only 2 lamps. - breakfastroom twice full.
Review 54:Location Friendliness of staff Clean Quiet
Review 55:Expensive bar!
Review 56:Nice rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Very good breakfast.
Review 57:One disatvantage: the rooms are very noisy.
Review 58:the breakfast was good value for us
