Reviews for Hotel Boutique Casareyna
Review 1:We arrived later than anticipated for our check-in and dinner booking but the kitchen stayed open for us. All the choices on the menu sounded fabulous; we shared 5 plates and enjoyed all of it. The continental breakfast had the best homemade juices we had in all our time in Mexico. The staff were very accommodating to us. Based on an excellent dinner enjoyed here last year, we decided to stay in this boutique hotel as well on this overnight visit. We were not disappointed, the rooms are very comfortable. The talavera tiles used on the stairway and on the wall hangings are absolutely beautiful. There is a great shop selling these products behind the restaurant.
Review 2:Very noisy. They are expanding so the construction started early and was very loud. Then a little later they start the music in their restaurant which we could clearly hear in our room. It was hard to rest which to me is what a hotel is all about. While it is close to the historic centre, the hotel is very far from many other landmarks in Puebla.
Review 3:Beautiful room, funky little boutique hotel near the historic centre of Puebla. Water pressure is amazing, which is hard to find in many places in Mexico.
Review 4:Hard to find electric sockets in the room. I had to unplug lamps to charge my phone. "Continental breakfast" was only coffee and two slices of cake
Review 5:Overall wonderful place
Review 6:everything; food, restaurant, service, bellmen, front desk staff, room, etc :-) we were just happy with everythings! Staff are very professional and friendly. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean.
Review 7:Bed was very hard and pillows need updating (made of feathers, not down); bedspread a little dirty; soap not very soapy.
Review 8:Several things: liked the restaurant; liked the Talavera Store on the property; liked the location; bathroom very roomy in our larger suite.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The rooms were perfect. They were spacious and had anything you could want. We ate supper there as well and it was the best meal we had in Mexico
Review 11:The room was spacious & comfortable. The restaurant was excellant & reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly & informative. When we return to Puebla we will stay again.
Review 12:The hotel was amazing! We walked into our rooms to fund the most delicious pastries, comfortable bed and huge beautiful bathroom all decorated with original Reyna talavera pieces! Location was excellent, right accross from a coffee shops and a small.shopping center and 2 minutes down the road was the parian market where it all began! Staff was so accommodating and answered all of our questions. The restaurant on site was actually one of the best too...with local food as well!!!
Review 13:The fact that bread and eggs aren't included in the breakfast. The fact that- unlike many other similar hotels - it's relatively far from the main sites (ok, still only a 15 minute walk, but after a long day, carrying a small child, that matters). It's across a major highway and in front of a shopping mall, so you lose the feel of being in colonial Puebla. It's a bit overpriced considering the competition.
Review 14:It looks and feels very fancy. We didn't eat at the restaurant (except breakfasts) but it looked nice and reasonably priced. Comfy bed. Good service.
Review 15:Wifi often not functioning. Why not a full breakfast..so little to offer to make a perfect stay.
Review 16:Loved the room and bathroom design and generous size. Nice continental breakfast.
Review 17:There are no real views from the hotel rooms. Mine looked out on the wall of a building under construction.
Review 18:Casareyna is a sophisticated small luxury hotel that combines traditional and contemporary design. It's art collection is top-notch and fascinating. The staff is helpful and kind, and it boasts a delicious restaurant. It felt like a haven in bustling Puebla.
Review 19:There is some noise from the restaurant next door, but not loud and not late.
Review 20:The room was very spacious and decorated very tastefully. The staff was helpful and friendly at all times. The location was good for walking to all of the major points of interest.
Review 21:Some of the staff in the restaurant were a bit surly and the service could be slow. Also there was building work going on in the room next to ours which was disturbing and irritating at times.
Review 22:The hotel is very stylish with beautiful courtyards and internal areas. The restaurant was superb and very reasonably priced so that we ended up eating there every night.
Review 23:We went to this boutique hotel. Unfortunatelly and despite the fact that we were asking for a very quiet room, it was a disaster. This hotel is very noisy and, on top, the building next door was in working process (démolition for, at least, minimum 1 year) and starting 7:00am, the workers destroyed some walls and we felt that they were working within our own room. The day before the end of our stay, I went to the lobby, asking for my invoice, they day that it was not ready... I came back the morning of our departure, paid for my stay, the lady told me that she was not able to give me my invoice (so impossible to verify if there were no mistakes) and after having paid, she told me, oh sorry I forgot 1 night and your restaurant from yesterday so you have to pay an additional amount. To conclude, we were asking for a private car to drive us to the airport... When the car arrived, again, another disaster. A very small car, completely destroyed... It was apparently a combine between the lobby Guy and one of his private Friend... I will not recommend This hotel
Review 24:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 25:We had large comfortable rooms, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant attached the hotel was excellent. The hotel was also within easy walking distance of the charming center of Puebla.
Review 26:*Internet in the room worked only 10% of the time. *Noise from the hotel restaurant carried up to the room from 7 am until after 11 pm regularly. *Some of the staff members were a bit arrogant and not very helpful.
Review 27:*Nice, large room. *Some staff members were friendly and helpful.
Review 28:The service was excellent. We moved to another hotel because we extended our stay in Puebla. There was no availability at Casareyna but they drove us to our new hotel in their luxury audio free of charge. The restaurant food was terrific and inexpensive. Wi-Fi was sketchy and slow and sometimes we were unable to connect. But this was a small problem. The location was close to the historic center--maybe a 10 minute walk. The rooms are huge. This is a great fond not to be missed if you are in the city.
Review 29:Our room's window overlooked the courtyard where a large party was held every day we were there. Very loud with the window open and the room was stuffy with it closed. We chose this hotel because we thought it was a bed and breakfast. Although they did include a light continental breakfast each morning, it was served in the hotel's busy restaurant. Every morning it was packed with non-guests that were celebrating a special occasion. It's not the kind of place where you cozy up with other hotel guests and get to know each other.
Review 30:The hotel was very clean, great location for exploring the historical district. Food from the restaurant was delicious. Very courteous and attentive staff.
Review 31:most rooms in the hotel were scented with an ambience perfume that was a bit too strong.
Review 32:Very good location / great room with great size / impecable good taste in decoration and furniture / the hotel restaurant is probably one of the best in town.
Review 33:No turndown service More in room amenities Cleaning and maintenance require attention to detail
Review 34:Great food Great location Big and comfortable rooms Great value
Review 35:The shower head in our first room was broken and spewed water in all directions. We shouldn't complain though because we didn't report it and I'm sure it would have been fixed if we had. It was kind of comical when we came back to our room one evening, there was an entire Mariachi band playing in the room next door. We learned that this was part of the "romance" package and they were actually playing on the private patio of the room next door. The Hotel has quiet curfew times and exactly at 10:00 pm (22:00) the band stopped.
Review 36:The hotel is just beyond the Centro across a busy expressway. You could walk to the Center in less than 15 minutes, yet you were away from the hustle and noise of the city center. We stayed in 2 different rooms on our trip (outbound and inbound - to & from Oaxaca) - a sort of Junior Suite and a "Master Suite". Both were excellent. The Master Suite room was the same size as the Junior Suite with a couch and a chair and a huge bathroom/dressing room. The Master Suite though has a private and spacious patio which was just delightful to have room service breakfast on in the morning. There was absolutely no sound coming from the room next door with one exception. The rooms come with air conditioning which we did not use, but was useful to ventilate on fan setting. Breakfast was delicious. Prices were more than reasonable and when we checked out they even gave us a complimentary ride to the bus station in a new Audi. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay and the front desk staff were fluent in english.
Review 37:The hotel is beautiful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the staff was more than accomodating to make anything that was not on the menu. They did their best to help me understand Spanish and explain customs and traditions. They would even so kind as to talk to people on the phone when I was somehwere and could not make myself understood. I can hardly wait to go back!
Review 38:Internet was not very good during our stay. There is no kettle in the room to make my own tea and coffee. There are only about 7 rooms, while the restaurant area is much bigger and able to accommodate more guests.
Review 39:The hotel is very elegantly designed and staff are all very friendly. Great for a holiday trip.
Review 40:Most beautiful rooms, great staff and beautiful location near the historic centre. Food was delicious
Review 41:Nothing!
Review 42:The staff both friendly and professional!
Review 43:Location walking distance to Centro. Very quiet room Very pleasant staff Very good food
Review 44:More or less NO Internet in the Room, construction in the neighborbuilding, very loud
Review 45:The Location, the Staff, the Rom, the Building,
Review 46:Valet parking is too slow
Review 47:Location, size of the room and comfort
Review 48:excellent location, very good size rooms, clean and confortable
Review 49:It was not a bad experience but at times it was quite noisy as other people shouted along the corridors.
Review 50:Liked the situation and the decor.
Review 51:The accommodation was superb. The staff went out of their way. The size of the hotel lent itself to intimacy
Review 52:One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Big rooms, lovely beds, every detail taken care of. Wonderful restaurant, too. Incredible value.
Review 53:spacious room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, fast wi-fi in the room
Review 54:quality of the furnishings, staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. location very close to historico centre, restaurant high quality.
Review 55:The lock of the door of my room did not work well. It was difficult to get it open and took many tries. The wifi does not work well either.
Review 56:While we were there, there was construction going on so it created a bit of noise.
Review 57:Beautiful hotel. Great location. Super staff.
Review 58:The authors of the interior design of this hotel deserve recognition for their remarkable work.
Review 59:We did not know how to find the hotel when we were driving into Puebla. We telephoned, and the man at the desk, who spoke excellent English, was able to direct us, street by street, for about 15 minutes. Fantastic service before we even arrived! Our room was large, quiet, with efficient air conditioning. We had 2 dinners at the hotel, and the food was very good, and the menu interesting.
Review 60:The continental breakfast included in the price is very poor (coffee, juice, fruits and marmelade) as compared to the breakfast in other mexican hotels. They should increase the rate to provide a better and richer breakfast!
Review 61:The hotel is very nice (decorated in a traditional Mexican style) but the staff mekes it outstanding (especially the lady from the reception who did everything to help us to recover our luggage lost by BA)! Location is good (7 mins walking to Zocalo) just in front of a mexican style shopping mall and a nice piazza.
Review 62:The breakfast was very simple. I would have liked a little more but thats okay. It was enough to start the day.
Review 63:The hotel is AAAAMMMMAZING! Great location, not too far from the Zocalo, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the room was beautiful and very clean. The hotel has great style and the bathroom in our room was gorgeous. The wifi worked great too. I was surprised how inexpensive the hotel was. If I am ever back in Puebla, I will stay her for sure!
Review 64:breakfast was not included
Review 65:room is really spacious, bed is extremely comfortable and the hotel is really clean we tried the restaurant and the mole is really good as well as the margaritas staff is helpful and really welcoming this hotel is the best value for money we had during our holidays (we stayed in 8 different hotels in different cities)
Review 66:Didn't like that it appeared to host many corporate events in the mornings in particular leaving the hotel guests waiting for a seat for breakfast or having a table set up in a not so pleasant area. Of course corporate events must be held that as food and location are amazing but not at the expense of hotel guests.
Review 67:Really enjoyed the stay, it was an amazing boutique hotel and the food was excellent in the restaurant
Review 68:Parking was tight with line-ups for the valet caused by the restaurant. The restaurant staff were not very friendly or efficient.
Review 69:Easy walk to the Zocolo and attractions of centro. Nice new property
Review 70:Lack of seating (we were in a queen suite with two beds. Apparently the junior with one bed has a sofa. This was not what the original ad said.). Noisy a/c. A coffee/tea maker would have been good.
Review 71:Beautiful hotel extremely well situated. Well trained staff. Comfortable beds. Fridge.
Review 72:Not a thing!
Review 73:The best comfort in Puebla, outstanding staff attention, I stay here several times a year, always satisfied, more than satisfied. Excellent restaurant -- try the salmon and sour cream omelet for breakfast. My favorite. Love having a sofa in the room for comfort.
Review 74:our room was up 2 long flights no elevator not big problem as we exercise but the stairs are at too steep angle and if youre not careful u might trip and fall across from this lovely hotel thete is huge very ugly shopping center too bad it was allowed snd to get to town u need to cross very very busy noisy boulevard like a highway on the other side starts centro and then its sbout 10 min walk to zocalo
Review 75:everything almost and puebla is one of the most beautiful mexican cities also great restos very fairly price and the people are very very nice
Review 76:Internet service was unreliable, but actually not a negative, as it forced us to relax even more and take advantage of the hotel and the marvels of Puebla.
Review 77:Where to start when there are so many amazing attributes? The staff is amazingly helpful and attentive (e.g., dinner recommendations, directions). Rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. Complimentary continental breakfast is a nice touch. A world class hotel in a great location.
Review 78:The design and furnishings felt very authentic - beautiful and unique. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was located in the historic district, yet far enough from all the hubbub to provide peaceful nights. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms very large. Loved the walk-in shower. Hope to return.
Review 79:We liked everything.
Review 80:The original old building has been renovated in a most tasteful way. The hotel has retained the regional architecture and layout, the decorative touches (including much tile work, furnishings and glass), the lovely patios and balconies, all with beautiful plants. At the same time the rooms are huge as is the adjoining bathroom/dressing room. All bathroom fixtures are state of the art and true to the website photos. The breakfast is small but lots of fruit! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent and very quiet.
Review 81:Stair could be an issue, but we are 50 and 71 and that was not a problem for us. Did need to ask how to turn some outlets on---just ask, don't assume that they do not work--they do work
Review 82:Large comfortable rooms with good seating to relax. Staff was able to help us with directions and everything else. We will return on our next visit! Close to everything, we enjoyed the short walks and accesses to convenience stores.
Review 83:The exhaust fan from the cinema across the street...but it did shut off at 10pm.
Review 84:Location, the staff, small number of rooms. Included complimentary continental breakfast that we were not expecting.
Review 85:The room is cold, you need to turn the air-condition on most of the time. It was a bit noicy because they are building something beside the hotel now.
Review 86:big rooms, nice furniture, and huge comfortable bathrooms. They have the best restaurant in the city. So you don't have to try other restaurants, you will be disappointed.
Review 87:Hotel Casareyna was an excellent stay! The room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The continental breakfast was refreshing and staff are exceptional. On the day of checkout, they even sent their own driver/car to drive us to the bus station without extra charge. They were also the only hotel in Mexico that replied my emails promptly and gave perfect direction on how to get to their hotel. Highly recommended! Two thumbs up.
Review 88:This is a beautiful new hotel in Puebla. The accommodations and staff were excellent. I usually avoid hotel restaurants, but the restaurant in this hotel was awesome.
Review 89:Due to the layout and design of the building, sound travels. This was more an issue from the courtyard restaurant below our bedroom window as well as occasional noisy guests in the corridors. The restaurant closed on Sunday evenings and New Year's Eve so we only managed to eat in it once which was a bit of a shame.
Review 90:Beautifully designed hotel in a great location within walking distance to the centre of town. Huge bedroom and bathroom with fantastic decor. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful and the bedtime 'gift' of chocolates by the bed was a nice touch. Good menu at the attached restaurant and reasonably priced. Would definitely return. Many thanks to all the staff at Casareyna for making us feel so welcome.
Review 91:Some of the hall lighting was out on the 3rd level.
Review 92:Beautiful, large guest-rooms. A standard for all boutique hotels! Great, friendly service. Good restaurant.
Review 93:Nothing not to like . It's a very high class hotel .
Review 94:We loved outstay at Casareyna . The staff were so friendly and when we arrived they were kind enough to let us check into our room early . The hotel is beautifully designed with wonderful artwork and the very best Talavera ceramics in the rooms . I loved the sink and bathroom accessories in matching Talavera . The room we had was large with views of a roof space full of large potted plants , very well designed . The restaurant is renowned for gourmet food . Location is great .
Review 95:The amount of lighting in the rooms could be improved. There were two bedside lamps and one other table lamp. Room information was all in Spanish. An English translation of this literature would have been helpful
Review 96:I had a very comfortable room which was absolutely spotless. Hotel staff were very helpful.
Review 97:Location shown on Booking.com was actually inaccurate by 1 block.
Review 98:Very nice boutique hotel. Best that we stayed at while in Mexico - byfar. Location is good, about 10 min. Walk to city center, cathedrals, markets, etc. Wonderful restaurant, excellent selection, reasonableprices. Awesome room with air conditioning, beautiful, first classdecor, bed, duvet, pillows, etc. Half a block from a busy street so nonoise. Reception was great and spoke English.
Review 99:A couple of nights, the water was not too hot. But that was resolved. Just had to let it run quite a while. They jumped on the issue however - checking the hot water heater, etc.
Review 100:Service was perfect. Food was amazing!! Rooms beautiful. Very convenient location. Would DEFINITELY stay there again.
Review 101:The breakfast, it is free but it is one slice of warm bread and some watermelon and mango. The location makes it very easy to walk into town and eat five minutes away though. Minimal issue
Review 102:The interior is unlike any, so modern and clean, everything is well made and planned out. The staff are happy and welcoming. The valet parking and location. When they fixed the WiFi it worked quickly.
Review 103:Very low WiFi signal at rooms 205 and 206.
Review 104:Extremely well located at Puebla historic downtown, 6 blocks from the Zocalo. The rooms are extremely comfortable with details like Talavera porcelain and delicate furniture. The breakfast is included on the fare and is good. The restaurant menu is outstanding, with Mexicans specialties that a foreigner can enjoy without "be burned". WiFi available, safe at the room. Staff very helpful. Valet parking available, free of charge.
Review 105:Restaurant Service Continental Breakfast lacking. (Same everyday, no bread) Food in restaurant needs improvement (ordered two different egg dishes on two days and received same sauce for both, one was supposed to be mole and one salsa roja. Both were salsa roja. Mentioned to waiter but he insisted it was mole which was laughable as I teach Mexican cooking.
Review 106:Excellent Rooms Clean Hotel Service
Review 107:Everything. Lovely rooms that have preserved the colonial feel, period furniture, spacious and comfortable and idiosyncratic artistic touches that enhance the overall experience. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Also, very cordial and well-trained staff. The location was excellent---just 5 minutes from the zocalo yet a bit removed from the hustle and bustle.
Review 108:It was noisy because of the open air and busy restaurant that is connnected to the hotel below all the rooms, but that did nor ruin our stay. I would stay there again. The positives out weigh the negative.
Review 109:It was beautiful , the staff was wonderful, it was a great location, the rooms were big and very comfortable
Review 110:Location is a couple blocks from the main zocalo area, but in a way, that's a plus because it's quieter and an easy walk to the centro.
Review 111:All the charm and interest of a historical building with the comfort and amenities of a modern one. Staff is terrific. Rooms are beautiful, roomy and comfortable. Baths are modern and spacious. Food is excellent.
Review 112:We very much liked the hotel itself and the rooms which were large and very comfortable. We received a great welcome when we arrived and everyone was very helpful.
Review 113:We loved everything about this hotel. it was convenient for the historic centre, great room and helpful staff. Also the restaurant was really good
Review 114:Just needs a light blocker on the bottom of the door. Small complaint -everything else great
Review 115:There us little to dislike about this hotel. Situated centrally - 4blocks to the zocalo. Comfortable beds and excellent staff
Review 116:Lack of a computer room for clients since the internet signal seemed weak to be working on a personal computer
Review 117:Beautiful small hotel, excellent staff, comfortable and excellent restaurant.
Review 118:The only thing that I didn't like was that the hotel asked me tosend my credit card information (including security code) via e-mailto confirm my reservation (because my previous card that was used forbooking has expired). I refused, but they agreed to keep myreservation anyway.
Review 119:Everything in the hotel was absolutely perfect, and believe me, I almostnever say such words of a hotel. I especially liked that thanks tobooking.com I got it for a price of about a hundred dollars per day. Thedesign is outstanding: everything is made of solid wood and talavera, which is typical Pueblan ceramics. You will have fine Pineda Covalincosmetics in the bathroom and sheets made of Egyptian cotton on the bed.All the services are second to none: you car is parked by a doorkeeper, and the continental breakfast included is the best I've ever seen: a,5 L. glass of fresh squeezed juice, fresly baked cake, fruit plate withcereals, assorted fresh jams and coffee or tea. The location is verycentral. I couldn't ask for more!
Review 120:As the hotel is in an old colonial building, some noise echoes into theroom from the hallway and the restaurant (this may be an issue forearly/ light-sleepers)
Review 121:A beautiful hotel, spacious clean rooms, very friendly staff (most spokegood English - a plus for non Spanish speakers!) a short walk from thecentre and sights. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the restaurant!
Review 122:excellent value for money!
Review 123:Very comfortable and lovely room.Reception staff were superb.
Review 124:Nice, large rooms with tasteful decor. Not a tourist trap. Exceptional restaurant.
