Reviews for Hotel Domina Home Palumbalza

Review 1:*Location is ok only if you have rent a car. *The nice beach in the pictures is near, but to get her shoulfd have a car or by walking it will take some 15-20 minutes and you should pay for chair use . *Breakfast in exactly the same every morning

Review 2:Beautiful view from the terrace

Review 3:Although the hotel was full no one was eating when we arrived at 9.30pm on a Saturday night. Only pizza was available , served in a dining room lacking ventilation, with a large cover charge applied to each pizza. Internet was only available intermittently in the lobby and was extremely slow.

Review 4:We had a nice big bedroom in a hotel with pleasant gardens and a very nice breakfast all at a competitive price.

Review 5:Wifi is super slow and not available in the rooms. Breakfast buffet tends to run out of certain items and is not immediately replenished (upon request most items will be brought, however)

Review 6:Very nice pool, great value for money, clean &spacious rooms and we got a free room upgrade. Freshly pressed juices with a large choice of fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet.

Review 7:We felt like we were on a cruise in the 80s. Hotel lacked character. There was only one restaurant for dinner which was a horrible room. When entering for dinner they refused to let us in as we were wearing open toe shoes (even smart sandals/peep toe heels weren't allowed). We got told we had to go back and put trainers on, which seemed ridiculous as the restaurant wasn't fancy at all. They had a lovely area to eat just outside the restaurant but refused to let people sit there to eat dinner so you were stuck in a dingy restaurant. They had one pizza restaurant by the port, but it was too windy so they closed it. They also close the pool if it's too windy. Breakfast was mediocre - they didn't even serve fresh fruits and you were attacked by wasps whilst trying to eat. The hotel was nice, but the facilities/atmosphere are very much lacking. Also it is a bit of a mission to get from your room to the pool/restaurant area.

Review 8:The view from the hotel is beautiful and the pool location/private little beach.

Review 9:I did not receive the room I paid for,I was really deeply disappointed I have raised my concerns with the management and received some discount on departure.Room was basic and bath very small.Lots of waking upwards due to hotel multilevel position definitely not for elderly or disabled clients, being a serious back sufferer I found it very difficult to walk up to 10 floor level room.No wi-fi in the room and very poor near reception.TV very small had only Italian channels zero contact withe the world.Breakfast boring and always the same. Restaurants offering limited choice of meals and 6 Euro for"coperto"-service,fee.Hotel is located so remotely that no other eating choices are available unless you have hired the car. Swimming pool was so cold that it was impossible to swim in it and if we wanted to use pool towel had to pay 25 Euro for deposit....

Review 10:Views from the veranda

Review 11:I think in the 4 stars hotel with price more than 100 euros per night should be as a standard internet in room, no plastic drink´s caps in room... And is not pleasant to listen to everything that makes the neighbor in the his bathroom... Most of the information in the hotel resort is in Italian only. Also TV programs.

Review 12:a beautiful place, wonderful garden, wonderful sea. Lovely restaurant.

Review 13:I will not return. They come close but fail in the end. Free WiFi is only in lobby and is weak. Location is quiet but you need a car to see anything other than the hotel. Unless you eat all your meals in the hotel you have to drive to any other location/restaurant. Great view of the small bay but the hotel beach is very small. Lobby personnel say 'Yes, we can accommodate special diets at breakfast, but breakfast kitchen staff says no.' Next time I will stay in Porto Rotondo.

Review 14:Very clean room, cleaned well during stay, nice variety at breakfast. Beautiful grounds.

Review 15:A bit too isolated area. Not sandy beach close by. The bed were not comfortable, a bit too hard for me. Restaurant food was not good, a bit cheap. Definitively you need a car.

Review 16:The position: sea front. The structure of the hotel.

Review 17:Cleanliness and appearance of rooms - looked old and dirty No wifi except at reception and old code system no user friendly Bar / snack options very limited and unhealthy (sandwiches crisps etc. no fresh fruit, smoothies, yogurts etc...)

Review 18:Wifi only available at reception. Good buffet for lunch but keep in mind that price is not 15EUR per person but 21EUR because you pay extra 6EUR for knife and forks!!

Review 19:Big hotel with beautiful garden and flowers. Very spread, we had lucky that we had room near to main building and swimming pool were is basically everything happening. Rent a boat at the hotel it was amazing!!! Location is ok but you definitely need a car.

Review 20:stairs stuff no other languages than italian hard bed horrible wi fi ( you have to ask for a 2hrs access code and connection only "works" at the reception) breakfast services were very poor paying a caution 50€ for beach towles

Review 21:clean rooms

Review 22:wifi needs to be sorted out...this is a quality resort and there should be free wifi in all areas including the suites and pool area.

Review 23:The staff were excellent and obliging. The front deck assisted with our cell phone problems and actually spent a good hour with us trying to get us sorted out since we do not read Italian. Very helpful...like a personal secretary. :) The pool was always clean and inviting with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Definitely recommend to rent a boat for the day or half day and see the islands and shoreline. Well worth it.

Review 24:The restaurant for dinner wasn't great and generally service a bit slow. No tea and coffee facilities in room

Review 25:Sea views from room were amazing. Most staff were friendly and helpful

Review 26:The main Pool was a constant depth of around 1.8metres and so was not suitable for non swimmers. There was a very small side pool though. The hotel would benefit from an all day snack/pool bar. The existing pool bar serves drinks all day but snacks are limited to rolls and pizzas. after 3pm.

Review 27:Location was fabulous, Staff were very helpful and friendly. Most rooms were excellent but there is a great variety of rooms and you need to be very specific with your requirements. Room price is by area. For instance, my daughter, who was getting married had visited Hotel before and ordered a suite. However, the one she was given, whilst the same area as the one she had stayed in previously, did not have a balcony and was very dark. On the plus side, the staff moved her to a beautiful, bright, airy room with views on two sides. Both rooms were the same size and therefore the same price.

Review 28:The free wifi had very limited range. The restaurant lunch wasn't good value for money.

Review 29:The view was spectacular and we were just a few minutes walk from a lovely little beach.

Review 30:The wifi was troubling at times (could only use it at the reception as stated prior), the room was cold at sometimes (that's what my gf claimed anw)

Review 31:Friendly staff, the room, the view and calmness. Sense of absolute luxury

Review 32:Drainage in shower should be more efficient. More variety for breakfast.

Review 33:Very peaceful and tranquil in a lovely resort setting. Hotel set on a hill by the sea. We were upgraded to a sea-view room. Stunning views. Helpful and courteous staff. Recommended!

Review 34:We had 2 major complaints. First, the bathroom had an odd smell. Second, even though it was a Hotel by the beach, you had to wear pants to dinner. This made little to no sense and forced us to go out and find a restaurant open at those hours.

Review 35:We enjoyed the view from our room and the Hotel was a great place to stay while in Golfo Aranci.

Review 36:Let me state straight away that this is somewhat a biased review. My wife and I had our car broken into at Rena Beach near Porto Rotondo and absolutely everything stolen - we were left in swimming costumes with virtually nothing else: no passports, money, credit cards, clothing, truly no nothing. We still had the car and drove to Hotel Palumbalza, having stopped at a police station on our way. When we entered the lobby and approached the reception, we said straight away that we needed a lot of help, if at all possible. The receptionist thought we meant a lot of help with carrying our suitcases, but when we explained our position, he said they would do all they could to help - and help they did! We had so much support from all staff, that it practically wiped out our shocking experience. But let's hope nothing of the sort would happen to YOU, and let's concentrate on reviewing the hotel. It is in a secluded position and it is thus expected you would come with a car or a coach. The car park is covered and large, but it is the grounds that are really extensive and beautiful - check out the pictures, pls. We booked a superior room and had, indeed, a large room with a large terrace, plenty of outdoor furniture and fabulous views. The room was perfect, and as we had no clothing to sleep in, we did not even need the air condition at the end of September The breakfast was plentiful, savoury and sweet, with fresh fruit and vegetable juices made to your special order, and any coffee you may wish. A large and deep swimming pool again offers wonderful views, and its salty waters makes you not forget you are right by the sea. The hotel beach is great for snorkeling, as there are all sorts of rocks with vegetation on them. For those preferring a sandy beach, it takes a 10-minute walk along the sea to reach a stunning Marinella beach - HIGHLY recommended!

Review 37:2 restaurants, but you cant use shorts or flip flops (please remember that you are in a beach place). Pool open only until 7pm Bad smell on the bathroom

Review 38:Nice balcony and room space.

Review 39:A beach bar in the bay opposite played disco music from 6:30-midnight plus which sadly carried across the bay. We were told this is only in August. Our noisy neighbours were a pain - it did feel like we were in the same room at times.

Review 40:The location, the sea, ambience of the hotel and the tranquility (but see what we didn't like too). The breakfasts were also wonderful.

Review 41:The hotel needs renovation badly (the rooms are small and smelly, so you need to keep the windows open to have some sort of fresh air); The food selection is very basic, not too high quality; You need a car to drive to a close by village (Porto Rotondo, 10 min by car) if you'd like a reasonable dinner.

Review 42:Excellent location, amazing nature and proximity of the sea! Relaxing setting and a feeling of a complete rest and disconnection from the outside world, which was great! The rooms were kept very clean (including the laundry, etc). Access to water facilities (boats to rent, although those should be booked at least 2 days in advance, which was a bit limiting...).

Review 43:- in XXI century, there is not one recycling container in the entire hotel area!

Review 44:- all was OK, friendly & very helpful staff

Review 45:Poor possibilities to eat, no restaurants

Review 46:Staff was nice, also pool and the beach

Review 47:Fikk byttet madrass på enkelseng etter første natt da denne var altfor tynn og fikk en vanlig tykk madrass. Hyggelige mennesker som jobbet der.

Review 48:Lots of steps to each part of the hotel which in the heat is hard

Review 49:Ridiculous prices for bar (8.40euro for a slice of pizza) and restaurant (6 euro of 'coperto' per person).

Review 50:Location and swimming pool area.

Review 51:No wifi in rooms.

Review 52:The room furniture The variation of the breakfast

Review 53:All the outdoor - garden pool beach

Review 54:Noise of families with children

Review 55:Breakfast

Review 56:Many steps to climb to my room

Review 57:The scenery is beautiful

Review 58:You need a car.

Review 59:A wonderful hotel with a great view. Would love to come back. The town Port Rotondo located near the hotel is very cozy.

Review 60:everything was just correct! the privet bitch, the sea-view balcony and the infinte pool. A hooney-moon hotel.

Review 61:Tried to give us worst room, than we reservated!! We took junior suitbut gave us economy. When we said, taht we are going out, gave us normalone that one was great and with all facilities, we booked.

Review 62:We had a seewiew room, it was perfect, there were a loot of people, butit seed like we were alone.

Review 63:The food was expensive and the portions were small., plus there was a cover charge per person which meant that if you simply wanted soup you had to pay an extra 6 EUR till you reached the set price. We were told not to drink the tap water so had to buy on average 3 bottles per day (a daily trip to the small gym accounted for at least one large bottle per day). There was absolutely nothing to do in the evening except sit and drink and at the hotel prices that wasn't feasible.

Review 64:The hotel, the gardens and the pool were all lovely. The beach was small but clean and our room was perfect

Review 65:The restaurant has a limited menu choice for a hotel of this quality. As another reviewer has commented the €6 cover charge is a bit steep when you only have a single course.

Review 66:The location was excellent. The hotel is well maintained and clean. Staff were friendly. Good choice of pool which was stunning and beach.

Review 67:You need a car to go to other restaurants and to other better beaches and to shops. Lack of written tourist information in English.

Review 68:Beautiful location and view, beautiful garden, quiet surroundings (away from the pool). Quiet beach (at least in September)

Review 69:WiFi only available in reception. Seating in the restaurant appears to be at the discretion of the head waiter, rather than on a first come first served basis.

Review 70:We were lucky and got our room for half price, so it was good value. We were also lucky and got a room near to the pool and near to the sea. The little verandah in front of the room was lovely. The wet room / shower was very good. The hotel is in an idyllic location.

Review 71:The restaurant is over-priced and there is little variety available. The food served was of average quality and not worth its price. The set menu is 27 EUR and even if you have one course by the time they've added the 6 EUR service charge per person you may as well have paid the set price which includes this charge. I would recommend checking the pricing at reception in advance of dining in the evening as we felt charges were leveraged as and how they saw fit. Whilst water was provided in the room on arrival due to the location and poor access to other areas it might be nice to replenish guests' water supplies in the fridge daily.

Review 72:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. We arrived early and were able to check in which was great. The location is beautiful and the views stunning. We were upgraded to a sea view room which made all the difference. It is a 3km walk to the main nearby town of Porto Rontondo and there is a rather steep walk from the hotel to the main road of 0.7km however we didn't find this problematic it may be for others especially if the weather is much warmer. This time of Year (Mid-May) is fairly quiet and much of the surrounding area is yet to fully open however for this short break it was peaceful and relaxing.

Review 73:The restaurant was too expensive for just a light meal (the cover price was 6£ per person!) and the selection limited even for the off-season. The hotel is a bit far from everything.

Review 74:Closeness to sea and view from hotel. Large room, well equipped. Could have been nice with a kettle, though, and WiFi in the room.

Review 75:Lots of steps from the main reception / restaurant to the rooms. Not a good location for those without a car.

Review 76:Thé Good, breakfast inclusve.

Review 77:Thé swimmingpool and thé room

Review 78:Very poor breakfast, no vegetables; shower floor tiles needs to be replaced as look very awful

Review 79:Good location, nice hotel

Review 80:No wifi in the rooms for this price, the entrance in the sea

Review 81:Rooms, vers friendly staff, excellent view, clean

Review 82:Since you have international tourists, it is a good idea to start speaking English.

Review 83:Hotel territory, views, pool, beach.
