Reviews for Hotel Flor De Sal
Review 1:The Spa was run by a third Party and was crowded and not as Relaxing as the Hotel was.
Review 2:The sea view was fabulous and the staff of the Hotel very friendly. The Restaurant was good.
Review 3:It's a little out of the main town but a reasonable walk or quick taxi ride.
Review 4:We had a room with a view of the ocean and it was beautiful to watch the sunsets and the walking path out the front was very handy. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and loved the food, particularly the fish rice.
Review 5:Extra chair in the room , by the desk would be nice, especially for room service breakfast in the mornings.
Review 6:I had a room facing the sea, which is really close, with large windows and large balcony which was amazing for the view, especially as it faces West. Room was a nice large size with a large comfortable bed, minibar, flat screen and on suite bath/ shower. Restaurant was good with good wine list. I had breakfast delivered to the room in the mornings for a small additional fee, but it was well worth it especially looking at the sea. Front desk Staff were very polite and extremely helpful pointing out nearby places to visit. Nice decor throughout hotel. Plenty of 'off the street' onsite parking. There is a large Bar, a Gym and a Spa with massage facilities available at hotel, but I didn't have time to use them.
Review 7:No mosquito protection at the balcony door. Not possible to leave door open in the night. Restaurant opens at 20h only. Even that this is normal in Portugal I expect in a hotel more flexibility.
Review 8:Rooms to the Atlantic have a great view. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking free of charge.
Review 9:The location description in misleading. Yes, on the coast but beaches and restaurants etc are a drive away. Not a picturesque town
Review 10:Rooms, spa and bar were nice and sensible prices.
Review 11:The hotel is located in a industrial area. As soon as you enter the lobby you don't notice this anymore (there is no pollution or any other negative impact from the industry). However, it may keep people away because it doesn't look inviting from the parking area. The 'plastic' (?) floor in the rooms takes some time to get used to.
Review 12:Very modern and beautifully arranged hotel (former warehouse?) with awesome views over the ocean. The rooms are big and nicely decorated (white and blue). The rooms with ocean view on the first floor have big balconies. The excellent staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers excellent food and a very good wine list. This is a great retreat to enjoy a few days on the coast in Northern Portugal!
Review 13:The spa pool area felt tired and needs a upgrade/refurbishment.
Review 14:Super sea view rooms with huge balconies on the first floor. Modern contempory feel throughout.. Restaurant was competent and attentive with good choice of wines..
Review 15:A very friendly and professional staff. A wonderful location on the seafront. The sea view rooms have very generous balconies and there are lovely walks to be had along the seafront. The shoreline is rocky but pools have been built into the sea and are great for safe swimming, there is also a lifeguard on duty. There is a lovely sandy beach quite hidden away towards the lighthouse and worth seeking out. The food was excellent in the hotel and the town and very reasonably priced even in the Michelin recommended Tasquinha da Linda. We had a lovely stay.
Review 16:Free WiFi is sometime almost unusable. Very slow. If they tell that there is WiFi, it should work.
Review 17:Gym is small and busy
Review 18:Salt water swimming pool, balkon overlooking water and watching sunset.
Review 19:Location of the hotel meant uninterrupted view of the ocean. Rooms were large, contemporary and quiet.
Review 20:The location and being lulled to sleep to the sound of the sea.
Review 21:Small coffee cups at breakfast-not typical of Portugal.
Review 22:Friendly staff and sea views sharp design of building.
Review 23:Best rooms look out onto sea. And have a terrace. It has great modern decor. Staff are friendly . A 20 minute walk into town
Review 24:The location was a bit isolated and the port not the most salubrious setting but we enjoyed the walk into town ( about 1.5 Kms) and it allowed the local cuisine to settle before bed.
Review 25:The staff were excellent- attentive and accommodating to all requests. The dining was first class, assisted by a knowledgable waiter, who assisted with an excellent wine choice. The gym and pool facilities were all available without extra cost and were of first class standard. The ocean view alone was worth the price. The walk along the esplanade was restful and scenic. Congratulations to the management and staff on an excellent hotel.
Review 26:The views always on top of the sea; the city of Viana, the walk on the seawall by the Hotel, the internet connection (easy to access anywhere and working very well)
Review 27:This is a lovely hotel if you ignore the fact that it is not far from the docks, get a sea view room and you would never know, everthing about this .hotel is 4* and a bit more.
Review 28:It's better to carry something product for mosquitoes if you like to hear the sea sound. The spa is ugly and it's sharing with a swimming pool where the locals goes. I didn't like it.
Review 29:The hotel is amazing¡¡¡ The best is its oceans views from the room. If you can not reservation a ocean view room is better you choose other hotel better placed and cheaper. But if you want is enjoy of amaizing views, then, this is your hotel. The rooms are wide and comfortable and the bed is very big. Sleeping while hearing the sea is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the hotel is decorated in modern style. It is close to the downtown (five minutes walking). A great hotel¡¡¡¡
Review 30:Yes, it's in an industrial area, but it's not unsafe to walk into town.
Review 31:Great place just to relax on your balcony, overlooking the ocean. Staff friendly, food excellent.
Review 32:The interior decor is of a "love it or hate it¨kind. The theme throughout the hotel was of modernism and minimalism which could put off some people.
Review 33:We like the location of the hotel and the availability of the spa included in the Price which stays open until 10 pm daily except until 6 pm on Sundays. Breakfast was quite adequate with everything to satisfy different tastes.
Review 34:It's just a pity that children aren't allowed in the spa area (they can only use one of the indoor pools). So if you want to go to the pool with ocean view you must have a babysitter. The rooms have extra large windows, which is great... but when the sun hits them you must put the air conditioning super cold in order to cool the room.
Review 35:The restaurant is a must... the atmosphere is great, the staff very nice and the food is superb. The view of the ocean is magnificent, you can relax in the lounge area and enjoy the sunset.
Review 36:Great Hotel. I loved everything. The rooms are great and we get accessto the Gym and the 25m heated swimming pool. It's close to the beachand the city.
Review 37:Some pieces of furniture looked a bit 'tired' and in need of replacing, otherwise I have no negative comments to make.
Review 38:Having the ocean on my 'room step' was absolutely amazing and the private terrace is a great bonus. I found the staff very welcoming and friendly, especially Goncalo at the reception and the evening waiting staff from the restaurant. I enjoyed the hotel and when in Viana next would definitely book a room again.
Review 39:Room whilst clean and spacious lacked any sense if comfort- very sterile. Food in restaurant was not as expected and I was disappointed, although the desert was wonderful. The location of the hotel was dreadful- a 4 star hotel located in an industrial estate! - appalling. However from looking around the area ur was the nicest hotel with a fantastic view.
Review 40:The furniture in the room was not practicle. The room was booked for twobut their was only one plastic chair and one comfort chair. Their was nodressing table. There was no tea or coffee making facilities in theroom. Their was an enormous balcony with two sunloungers it would havebeen nice to have patio table and chairs as well. I was dissappointed tonote their was no outdoor pool or sunloungers on the hotel grounds. Theindoor pools were of a good size, however I did not like to wear theswimming hats. The taste of the swimming pool water tasted awful andstung my eyes. The breakfast was of a good standard however neededcovering to protect from flies. The hotel is better equipped as abusiness travel stop, there is plenty of room for improvement if theywant to encourage tourists.
Review 41:The view overlooking the ocean was exquisite. The size of the balconyand the size of the room were enormous. The gymn had a large selectionof equiptment and guests were encouraged to join in fitness sessions. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very quiet, polite andattentive. The walk along the promenade was lovely but there wasindustrial areas and derelict areas nearbye. The beach nearby is full ofrock pools which was very interesting and there are areas for batherstoo, plus a short ferry ride over the river leads to a fantastic sandybeach with wooden walkways through the sand dunes. The town is a tenminute walk but full of old interesting small streets plus the new areasnear the cable car to the church on the hill with fantastic views.
Review 42:Nice and calm hotel. Located on the beach with rooms just in front of the sea. Confortable and spacious room. Large beds. Great breakfast.
Review 43:The views and the spa
Review 44:A bit difficult to find
Review 45:Excellent stopping-off place on northern Portuguese coast. Good modern rooms with superb balcony over-looking wild coast.
Review 46:No outdoor pool Very busy spa/gym
Review 47:Superb room Maintenance of room Location
Review 48:Breakfast was late and dissapointingly small.
Review 49:Nice room with balcony overlooking shoreline. 15 mins walk to town.
Review 50:the balcony over looking the ocean
Review 51:Friendly, clean, location, private parking, we liked everything ! Go for the spectacular ocean view !
Review 52:Very spacious rooms and public areas. Beautiful views over ocean with huge balconies.
Review 53:Fantastic balcony facing the sea. There is a small beach nearby in walking distance. The hotel provides bikes for free.
Review 54:Located at Atlantic! Easy to get there by car. Hughe terasse with each room. Great breakfast. Well equipped lounge bar.
Review 55:Very helpful receptionists, very good facilities, lovely room (114?) with a big balcony.
