Reviews for Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano

Review 1:No shelter / shutter bus from hotel to Waterpia, it could be very challenging to walk to Waterpia with chill wind.

Review 2:The mountain view from the hotel is magnificent, the spacious room, the convenient shop, the outdoor pools and hot-spring with maple tree.

Review 3:Oven is not available in the kitchen

Review 4:The location is very scenic.. We enjoyed the mountain view from our room. Lots of activities going on in the resort.

Review 5:Staff spoke very little English. Out of town. Must take cab or bus to get anywhere Good distance from national park.

Review 6:good location for water park. Good breakfast buffet. larger rooms. Good view of mountains.

Review 7:Allocated room was badly ventilated - very stuffy and had poor air circulation. Was given a different room after some wrangling with the staff and the new room was much better. Futons are a little old and slightly thin, although the beds are quite comfortable. Room is smaller than expected but comfortable.

Review 8:Gorgeous exterior, conveniently located next to the Waterpark. Coin laundry and microwave in the basement, with a small supermarket/convenience store as well. Clean bathrooms, small balcony for drying clothes etc. Beautiful view. Staff responded quickly to room ventilation problem. Well stocked kitchen, if a bit small.

Review 9:Staff speak limited English. For those who can't speak will say "No English" which was really awe... There is a supermarket but very high price. Restaurant choice is very limited. Usually room guests are local Korean who drive their own car to dine nearby. Hotspring nothing like Japanese style, just basic pools.

Review 10:Excellent breakfast Nearby hotspring but lack of direction sign. Very spacious room.

Review 11:View from some rooms is good (mountain or golf course) but from many is just parking lot. No microwave in the room but there are some next to the convenience store. Only one door to a condo, so noise from the hallway can be bothersome, especially between 10 and 12 midnight; should have two doors with a foyer to block noise. Everything is quite expensive. TV has few channels for non-Koreans but does have HDMI and USB (bring your own videos and plug in). Many staff speak little English, but this is normal in Korea (and the front desk was helpful enough).

Review 12:Next to excellent water park. Next to artificial lake with lots of fish kids can see swimming (no fishing). Has an expensive but high-quality convenience store. Almost at the base of Seorak Mountain. 20 minute drive to Sokcho Beach. 10-15 minute drive to Sokcho. Next to a golf course and some cultural facilities: a movie set and ? One queen-size bed and one room with sleeping mats on the floor (Korean yo): good combination. New and nothing was broken. Pretty well decorated. Coin laundry, new machines. Wide hallways, huge lobby, wide open feeling. Decent restaurants within a 10-minute drive.

Review 13:A bit noisy sometimes. Small - but OK - kitchen. We were glad, that we didn't get a apartment at first floor- the windows seem very small.

Review 14:The most quickly check in and out I ever seen ... Effective and friendly at any request. Although its a big resort with about 1000 rooms, you don't get the feeling, that everything is crowded. The 4-persons room was fine, and we moved the madrases into the sleeping room, with the real bed. And got a great room for our lugage. Great view from the balcony to the mountains. Its very easy to make your washing clothes dry, the A/C motor is placed on the balcony and produce at lot of warm air! The shop is fine, not cheap but OK. The location is very fine for visits in the fine Seoroksan Nt. Park. The price for a taxi is 10.000 W to the Park. And about 12.000 W for a taxi to Ekspress Bus station. Just remember to have your destination written in korean.

Review 15:Nice view..

Review 16:Very small towels

Review 17:Nice room.good breakfast

Review 18:wish there was a swimming pool

Review 19:Not rushed, enough space, and slow

Review 20:Shortage of restaurants to choose from.

Review 21:Room spacious for suit room Their theme waterpia is good and staffs services are excellence.

Review 22:the bath towels are basically the size of gym sweat towels!

Review 23:I loved everything about this resort. The staff were very accommodating to our needs and though there is a slight language barrier, they helped as much as they could. The location is 2hours away by bus ride from Seoul so it's very accessible and the view on the way is breathtaking specially in Winter. The room was more than what we could ask for. Our won kitchen and when you book two beds the beds are located in 2 separate rooms. I did not have to move from my bed to see the amazing view of the snow covered mountains! The kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable and pillows are nice and fluffy. i Definitely recommend this resort! There is also a big water slide walking distance from the resort. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of choices for both western and asian cuisine. Wifi was fast. It was such a relaxing stay!

Review 24:It is a bit difficult for a foreigner to get there. I needed to fly tothe Incheon airport, then to the East seoul Terminal and then about 3hours taking a bus to the Waterpedia. Though it's far away, the airis fresh and the environment is relaxing. The room is decorated in a simple way, with no pictures hanging on the wall. However, there is stain on the towel. Adaptor is not available as there are too guests borrowing the adaptor, so i needed to save energy by taking less photos and less phone calls. The staff can speak English, but not mandarin. The exchange rate for USD to won is rather low. So must exchange in advance. The staff made a little mistake in calculation. I gave her the money for room rate and she returned less to me, but I corrected her mistake. Personally, I didn't like the korean room as it is hot and vacant.

Review 25:The resort is really big and there is enough lighting. The check-in/out counter is located on g/f of block 5 and I lived in block 2, soI needed to go through the long, long corridor to the counter and therestaurant and supermarket in block 6 and 7. There is cooking utensils,so I could buy a pack of noodle and cook in my room. There is mountainview in my room and the air is fresh and I could see the star from thebalcony. The corridor and the rooms are simply decorated, unlike roomsin Hong Kong and Macau which are decorated in a very fancy way. Thesimple decorated room is comfortable to live in and it feels like home.I stayed there for one night in mid-October. Red leaves are not commonlyfound in seorak Mountain, but to my surprise, there are red leavesaround in the resort area. Breakfast buffet is included in the roomcharge. There is various food and it satisfies my appetite.

Review 26:The resort is not well prepared for non-Korean with insufficient English signage. The announcement is also in Korean only and we didn't know what happened when we heard the announcement in the room.

Review 27:The responding time in reply email enquiry is efficient.

Review 28:Breakfast buffet was pricy to purchase extra tickets on spot. I wishthat I could provide cheaper price for extra tickets. I do not thinkthat breakfast buffet was not worth 20,000 won per ticket.

Review 29:This facility was clean and spacious. Also, this place was closed tothe Seorak Mountain that air quality was very clean and provided aserene view.

Review 30:we like that it could accomodate my family with two adult and two children. Hanwha also have great waterpark and baebeque site which really fun for my family

Review 31:Location is a bit isolated from town and from the national park.

Review 32:Clean and nice space.
