Review 2：This house is a real pearl with fantastic view over the ocean. It's build with passion, mixing old stones and wood with state-of-the-art finishing. The two terraces offer both the same great view, and give enough space for eating and enjoying the sun. No matter how often and how much we watched the sea, we could never get enough. It's hard realizing this is real and not just a picture on the wall. Using the barbecue outside is another highlight.The two bedrooms inside are both clean and nice, and so is the bath. The living room is connected to the kitchen, and very comfy. The kitchen itself is fully equipped and gives every comfort you need.In front of the house there is a nice little garden with some fresh herbs. The whole house is in a very clean and up-to-date style.The owners are very friendly and hospitable. They offered us great tips of how and what to do, they know well where to eat properly, and you can see at the house that they pay a lot of attention to the detail.The environment is rural, in the middle of a beautiful countryside. Outside of the house, there are some local people living, you can see banana and sugar growing. The path to the house is build of stones, but pretty flat, except some steps in front of the house. If you don't put the luggage to heavy, it's no problem at all, and even at night the way is bright and good to see. Already from the path you have a beautiful view on the ocean below.The house is located 3 mins by car above Calheta, where you have a fully equipped supermarket, some artificial sand beach, a marina, and some nice restaurants (we recommend the ice cream bar next to the marina - perfect! also the restaurant of the hotel 'Ondra Azul' is very good). Funchal is just 30 mins away, we went there couple of times, it's easy to get there and park downtown.
