Reviews for Villa Sorrento

Review 1:You need to go to Sorrento by train, but only for 6-8 minutes

Review 2:Rafael is very nice and friendly Convenient location between the beach and the station of Meta A quiet place to relax

Review 3:Nothing at all against the property, but the town of Meta seems rather quiet outside of August meaning choice of bars/restaurants wasn't huge. Still it is quick and easy to get to the bigger and busier town of Sorrento.

Review 4:The pool! Also it was only a 15-20 min walk to the beach and about 10 mins from the train station with easy connections to Sorrento, Pompeii, Naples etc. €3.50pp for a nice simple breakfast each morning was really good value. We also had to cancel one of our rooms last minute due to a family bereavement and the owner/staff were exceptionally understanding which was hugely appreciated - thank you!

Review 5:The last train back from Sorrento to Meta WA at 9:30 in the evening, which meant we had to rush back each night. Meta is a sleepy little town with a couple of good restaurants on the beach, but no shopping or night life.

Review 6:It was nice to have a pool to cool off in after a long day of sightseeing in Sorrento or Capri. Free parking was convenient, so we could leave our car in Meta and take the quick train ride into Sorrento. Stefania and other staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 7:No bad experience but a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities would have made it perfect

Review 8:The pool was great, area lovely and chilled, although a little more night life would have been nice at times

Review 9:Stefania is an amazing host, she was always around when we needed her. The garden is beautiful, it's the perfect place to rest. There is a well-equipped kitchen in the house so you can prepare your own meals and eat under the orange trees or by the pool.

Review 10:Camere un po' piccole, non facilissimo da trovare. In costiera ci sono località più belle.

Review 11:Bed and Breakfast molto carino, arredi nuovi, piscina, proprietaria gentilissima, ci ha dato molte informazioni utili. Spazio per parcheggiare. Colazione a prezzo ragionevole.

Review 12:Breakfast started a bit late (8.30) so we missed it due to early starts on day trips.

Review 13:A lovely pool and sunbeds to relax and cool down after sightseeing at Capri, Pompeii etc. very friendly and helpful staff. Secure car parking. Pretty, air conditioned rooms.

Review 14:Stefania and the guy there were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. We were very happy staying there and felt very welcome. The place is beautiful. The location is good. Only three stops to Sorrento train station. But the walk from the Meta station to the place is quite tough for the elderly or with big luggages.

Review 15:should of brought a travel kettle not a lot to do in the area got train into sorrento good train links

Review 16:rooms nice, stephanie owner lovely lady ,would do anything to help

Review 17:Only sweets for breakfast at other street location. Closed on Monday/

Review 18:Location and wine shop nearby. Personel is very friendly. Swimming pool and green enviroment.

Review 19:The owners of Villa Sorrento are lovely people and spent some time with us when we arrived explaining how we could get to a variety of different places from Meta by train and bus. They were happy to work around our schedule when it came to checkin and checkout times. The Villa is basic but the rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds and pool are attractive and nice place to lounge if that's what you want to do. Villa Sorrento is a perfect base to explore the region, the train station is a 10 minute walk and gives to access to Sorrento, Pompeii, Naples etc. Given that we knew we would be booking day trips for us it made sense to stay in Meta not Sorrento as its better value and Sorrento is 10 minutes away by train if you want to go there, its only €2.20 return at the time of writing. The only minor critic I could offer is that there is no breakfast provided onsite, but for us this wasn't an issue. If you want you can pay €3.50 (usually €4.70) to have breakfast at the cafe, which is a couple of minutes away down the street. I would definitely recommend Villa Sorrento for those looking to explore the region on a budget. Its clean, tidy and you have easy access to the train.

Review 20:Located on a street without sidewalks and with dangerous traffic, Villa Sorrento is a 30 minute bus ride from the center of Sorrento. Unusually cold weather made room impossibly cold in winter.

Review 21:The Napoli owner is very charming and alert to guest needs, to the point of being disarming of any complaint. During this low season, the 3rd person adult benefited from his room at no extra charge.

Review 22:We felt very welcomed by Steffania and Diana who provided with lots of useful informations about the area, train times, places to eat etc. Great location of Villa Sorrento: short walk to Piano di Sorrento, train station, centre of Meta and beaches. Pool, great place to relax after all day of discovering amazing places in the area. Rooms very comfortable with lovely decor and spotless.

Review 23:We had friends who had the breakfast within the guest house but this was no longer an option, although the bakery was perfectly ok (with croissants, yoghurts, coffee) it would have been perfect to have this available within the grounds of the hotel but that is our ONLY criticism!

Review 24:This is a family run guest house with 7 rooms. The mother and daughter duo were a delight to meet and nothing was too much for them. The location is 3 stops on train from sorrento, so lovely and quiet and only a short hop into the buzz of sorrento. I will definitely be returning!

Review 25:We felt very welcome here. Room comfortable and Stefanie and Diane couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Train station 5 minutes walk and took us to all the main sightseeing places! Overall really great.

Review 26:The swimming pool has no shallow end- 2.4 metres in all places. Exit from property onto blind corner of a road would be difficult with children.

Review 27:Such a welcoming family who could not do enough for us. Suggestions for eating and outings as well as help with public transport. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Use of kitchen area including fridge freezer and microwave-super bonus.

Review 28:can hear people in other rooms ,

Review 29:private clean room, comfy, lovely bathroom. good internet. Staff lovely, welcoming & helpful. easy walk to beach has a pool

Review 30:I felt very welcome by the owners (mum and daughter). This is a very well run establishment and it was a pleasure to stay there. Meta it's is a beautiful little village and a great option to be out of the business in Sorrento. I will be coming back!!

Review 31:Poolside area and terrace was a little run down and a bit tired/dirty looking. Road outside entrance was very dangerous to exit from, due to a bend on the corner of the road.

Review 32:Great location close to the beach, shops and train station. Lovely modern decor. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money.

Review 33:As comes with the nature of towns in this region, the hills are steep going up and down. However, even if you are of limited mobility, the breakfast place, wine store, several restaurants, shops, and a supermarket are easy, fairly level walks.

Review 34:Villa Sorrento was an unexpectedly quiet and tranquil setting within easy walking distance of the centers of both Meta and Piano di Sorrento, a short walk to the train station, and only 4km from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. The rooms were well-appointed and extremely comfortable while the pool was a beautiful oasis without the stringent closing times so common for the region, meaning we could relax there after returning from a full day of touring. I don't think you could find a better "base" for experiencing the region and the staff was the most helpful (and most attentive) of anywhere we have stayed in the area and warrant extra praise! An awesome breakfast place/bar was almost right next door while a local wine store (with multiple choices of locally produced wine in large vats) was just across from it. We were here without a car and were able to easily get around between walking and the local train. Only when we spent a late night partying in Sorrento did we need a taxi home. I can't wait to return again with a less hectic pace and just relax by the pool for a few days!

Review 35:nice but small room, that sleepless rooster that yelled in the neirbourhood at 4am

Review 36:very nice host, good location, 500 meters from beach, beautiful garden and pool, ideal for relaxing after sightseeing, only 5 minutes driving from Sorrento downtown,

Review 37:Beautiful Villa and nice Pool Nice and not too aggressive Lady we loved it and extended two more days moskito nets inside the rooms

Review 38:Same choice of breakfast every day but it was nice

Review 39:Location, pool and staff

Review 40:A bijou villa with a swimming pool, located in a beautiful, quiet garden. An ideal spot to visit the region: from Naples to Amalfi & the islands.

Review 41:homely. This is really a B&B more than a hotel Wonderful pool

Review 42:Very limited breakfast and no Tea/coffee making facilities

Review 43:Quiet and convenient for the station, Reasonable priced

Review 44:Pretty villa with good deep pool. Very careful holder, Stefania. Family environment, quiet place, beautiful view. Good location between beach and railway station.

Review 45:Breakfast is poor (no choice, one and the same every day,3-4 days old cake). If you want fresh orange juice, you have to make it yourself by means of a plastic device. Dangerous to step out of the hotel, as there is no any pavement for pedestrians and you can be run over by any scooter or auto. You can hear well the neighbours. Beter buy a pack of toilet paper as they forget to put a new one when it is finished. Internet is only available in the garden (before the entrance).

Review 46:Close to the train station, good airconditioner

Review 47:For somebody my age you cannot walk from the train station to the villa. The location can be confusing.

Review 48:The owners were very friendly and accomodating. I wish that I understood the bus system and area better. I will go back there in a second. The view from our terrace of the mountains was spectacular. We loved Steffania and Diana.

Review 49:Stefania was really kind and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you

Review 50:Atmosphere, arrangement, garden

Review 51:Small hotel, so never busy, often had the place to ourselves. Staff all lovely and helpful. Nice breakfast.

Review 52:Staff, pool, short walk to the beach, scenery.

Review 53:fantastic staff the ambience of the whole place

Review 54:It was clean, comfortable, the breakfast on the terrace in the mornings was lovely
