Reviews for Maison La Minervetta
Review 1:The property is not located in the center of Sorrento but the walk is in any case less than 10minutes. The free parking at hotel is a great benefit. Views from the hotel are wonderful but hotel's style and design are even more astonishing. Breakfast is delicious. All in all - travelling in style
Review 2:That we had to leave!
Review 3:I loved the quirky, individuality of the hotel. The views, the breakfast and the staff were all great. For us it was beautiful.
Review 4:No other food available except breakfast. We were rained in one of the days and preferred not to go out. But it is Italian culture to "celebrate" eating....and I don't blame them for it.
Review 5:Views, service, breakfast, cleanliness, attentiveness - everything
Review 6:Fantastic in every way. Our room and view were incredible. Staff went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. The food was great. It was one of the best hotel experience we have ever had!
Review 7:Amazing design in nautical patterns, great location offering beautiful views and friendly staff. Great experience. I highly recommend it and will stay again there given the chance.
Review 8:The warm welcome and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was excellent. The facilities and decor faultless and the location superb. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Review 9:Tea making facilities in the room would have been useful
Review 10:The style of the hotel was quirky, but wonderfully so - the colour scheme suited us very well. The views were just fabulous, both from the bedroom and the public rooms. The hotel staff were helpful. We will save up and return!
Review 11:This is a magnificent hotel ! From the friendly staff to the meticulous attention to detail and cleanliness (SPOTLESS). The view is spectacular. The décor is stunning and full of conversation pieces. 10-15 minute walk to town or the ferry over to Capri. I have never felt compelled to write a hotel review despite our avid travels but this hotel really is great.
Review 12:My husband and I just spent the first night here of our 5 week-long honeymoon and only wished we could stay longer. Travelling from Australia, Floriana and her hotel staff made us feel like family. There are no words for how beautiful Maison La Minervetta is, it is perfect in every way. The view is what dreams are made of and the hotel is more of a magical resort than anything else. The interior is absolutely stunning and the art pieces are truly something special. The town is less than a 5 minute leisurely and scenic walk away with access to food markets, shopping, souvenirs and amazing restaurants. The pool is also very beautiful and the Marina Grande is a fun walk down their private steps. Unfortunately I was extremely sick coming off 1.5 days of flying and having no food at the fault of the airline we boarded from Sydney and in the middle of the night I woke to shaking, nausea and vomiting. Being so late my husband thought to visit their kitchen to see if anyone could help - we were blessed to receive immediate assistance from one of their staff who offered us access to the buffet being prepared for breakfast. As we sat out on the balcony to get some fresh air and take in the meal the staff member brought out a blanket to keep me warm as I recovered from the shock. As the morning approached I woke feeling 100% better all thanks to the help of this wonderfully kind man. From the extensive advice of The Almalfi Coast to the transportation recommendation of Aldos Limos - you would never stay anywhere else in the gulf. My husband and I would (and intend to) travel around the world again just to escape to Maison La Minervetta. Thank you Floriana and all of your beautiful staff for your warm and luxurious hospitality. We are forever grateful and will see you again. Brooke & Mitchell Stewart NSW, Australia
Review 13:Great view! Very nice atmosphere with friendly people! The interieur is superb. Some could find it too much but it gives the place a very good vibe and you could stay a whole day inside to admire it all. The hotel is also situated in the best part of Sorrento at Marina Grande. Very nice at night!
Review 14:You have to be pretty fit to tackle the 18 flights of stairs from the top of the hotel to the beach below a couple of times a day!
Review 15:The views were unreal! Absolutely stunning. Very nice relaxing place to finish our trip to Italy. The restaurant below 'baggini delfino' is quite nice. The best restaurant we went was 'il buco'.
Review 16:That I don't have time to stay longer or the opportunity to stay in their corner rooms!
Review 17:The hotel design, the colors, hotel location, the welcoming staff and owner, the books, the food, the view, the ..... everything!!!!! Thank you Marco for creating this wonderful place for people like - me.
Review 18:miscommunication on the reservation. needed two beds. manager unwilling to bring a cot - unexpectedly had to sleep on the floor. make sure they understand how you want your cc to run. I requested local currency but they ran it in USD so, although not a large amount, I had to unnecessarily pay the surcharge for their error.
Review 19:location of property was great. facilities were beautiful. unique oasis off of the busy route.
Review 20:The staff were amazing and so helpful in locating our lost luggage with the airline. The views from the room were amazing and everything was breathtaking. We couldn't recommend this hotel more!
Review 21:Gorgeous location with view of the town below, easy access to great restaurants, beautiful pool with lots of hideaways for relaxing. Amazing breakfast every morning on a large patio overlooking the city and the sea.
Review 22:We loved everything about this unique hotel...I say that for the reason it did not feel like a hotel. We felt that we were very fortunate to be staying in someone's beautiful holiday home. The rooms are divine, all individually furnished and the lounge/ dining areas exceptional. The staff were divine and could not do enough for us. I'm determined to get back there as we loved our stay there.
Review 23:nothing!! loved everything!!
Review 24:Everything!! From the reception to the room to the bathroom the the view!! Everything was a dream come true!! I would recommend anyone to stay in the hotel and just enjoy the hotel itself!! Cause its totally worth it!! Beautiful amazing and out of this world!!!
Review 25:Every detail of the place has thought put in it, amazing interior design ,the owner has a fantastic collection ! The staff are really lovely and very helpful .
Review 26:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 27:Beautiful views, very helpful and friendly staff, interesting and attractive decor, great breakfasts! A feeling of complete relaxation. And the options of stairs to the marina as well as an easy walk to town was great and unique.
Review 28:Pray you don't get room 2. There's little point in having an amazing view if you have to keep pulling the blind down because you're overlooked by another room and the hotel balcony. No English breakfast tea available. Just a wide range of mind boggling flavours that I'm pretty sure nobody drinks. I'm glad we had our own tea bags with us!
Review 29:Beautiful decor and art all around the building. The location is fantastic and so much better than being in the centre of Sorrento. The small harbour below the hotel is an absolute joy.
Review 30:Having to come home!
Review 31:There is nothing not to like about this beautiful hotel, rooms are a dream, views over the port of Sorrento from every bedroom window. The staff are superb, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Great selections for the continental style breakfast
Review 32:Very small but well decorated place, very good staff, always with a smile, it has only 12 rooms, probably thats why you always get almost exclusive service, specially after spending few nights at an overly expensive place in Positano, this one felt just perfect.
Review 33:It was expensive for what we got. Should have been cheaper for what it was. Also, there was no restaurant for lunch or dinner which put us out because you had to leave the hotel even when you didn't want to for a meal. Other wise we loved our stay and it was lovely!
Review 34:The views from our room were amazing and mind blowing and we couldn't have asked for better views, breakfast outside on the balcony over looking the views were beautiful too with a cute kitchen. Delicious breakfast. Staff helpful and the decor of the hotel was very funky, arty and different which we loved because we haven't ever stayed at a place like it. Massive room, comfy bed, clean room and quiet.
Review 35:Couldn't stay longer.
Review 36:Lovely warm helpful Staff, beautiful quirky hotel, stunning views, we highly recommend this hotel. Peaceful too. Sorrento can be a bit busy but this is a haven of tranquility. Head down to the Marina from the hotel private steps for lovely locals and fresh fish. Two very happy travellers.
Review 37:We had to leave.
Review 38:La Minervetta is a whimsical experience. Décor colorful, bright and inviting. Terrific common areas. Unbelievable views, immaculate and comfortable. The staff is wonderful. With special thanks to Guia and Pierpaolo. Easy walk to the center and free parking a plus.
Review 39:Nothing to report!
Review 40:We had an excellent stay. The staff were so welcoming and always accommodating for anything that we requested. They recommend wonderful restaurants and really look after you. The room is amazing with one of the best views possible in Sorrento!
Review 41:What an amazing hotel. If you are in Sorrnto you must stay here, everything about the hotel was magaical from the views, design style, staff, location, breakfast and service. It made our 3 day break to Sorrento.
Review 42:Our holiday would've been vastly improved had the hotel offered lunch and/or dinner, even if it was a casual panini or pizza. Having to leave the hotel twice per day for meals (either 20 min walk into town and back up a hill or 300 steps to the marina and back up) started to really drain us after 4 days.. we felt that the hotel is perfect for chilling but then the walking really tired us out (we are active 30 something's, although I am pregnant which made the walking harder on me and my feet). The pool was also too cold to use. It would be good if they had some solar heating to use in the cooler months.
Review 43:The decor, the staff, the terraces, all were absolutely superb. We had the junior studio and loved the fact that it was tucked away in a corner of the hotel away from the guests, and the decor was truly lovely.
Review 44:have never seen such a vibrant beautiful hotel. Staff perfect, location perfect, could not take enough photographs of extraordinary interior. Breakfast excellent. Loved every minute
Review 45:More of an observation than a negative. The hotel does not have a restaurant so if you come in late or are tired be prepared to order a pizza.
Review 46:This place is like visiting family. The staff is warm friendly and helpful at all hours of the day or night. The view is not to be missed. The patio is always open and the staff will serve adult drinks and snacks when you request.
Review 47:None.
Review 48:Everything. Especially the staff. Everyone was amazing and just made our whole vacation. The whole place is made like an art gallery. We loved every single second of being there.
Review 49:This hotel is situated just outside the main town but easily reachable by foot. Site and views are stunning and rooms very special. Floriana, the manageress is very helpful and breakfasts are amazing taken on the terrace with views over Sorrento, the bay towards Vesuvio and over to Capri. A breathtaking panorama.
Review 50:The kitchen set-up took place very early (4 or 5 am) above our rooms and was very noisy. The two women serving breakfast were very curt and not friendly at all.
Review 51:The views are unbelievable. The location is perfect, above it all. The decor was beautiful.
Review 52:Genuinely hard to say anything should improve except if there is room to squeeze in a gym it would be even better!
Review 53:The unique style of the hotel, and the friendliness of everyone that works there. Stunning views waking up to the sea view everyday and enjoying the superb breakfast. We stayed as part of our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Easter was really special with the homemade cakes and Easter eggs for all guests.
Review 54:The only I thing I could probably fault it on was the fact it didn't have a restaurant but to be honest we ate out every night
Review 55:I liked the slickness of this hotel , you need to give the key when you leave the hotel so this ensures whatever time you get up your room will be cleaned without being bothered with a knock on the door ....they recommend great restaurants without us having to ask would even ring te restaurant to reserve , the hotel views were the best in sorrento spectacular as it's build on the edge of the cliff with the only the seat Infront
Review 56:Amazing location .. Amazing views from the bedrooms and public rooms ... Amazing decor ... Amazing staff ... Delicious breakfast selection ... Perfect ❤️
Review 57:Having to leave!!!
Review 58:The decor was like no other hotel we have ever seen, simply stunning. The breakfast was of a quality we thought would never be offered in our price range. We would definitely recommend the hotel to others and hope to stay again in the future.
Review 59:On the downside, it is located on the edge of the town and is a good twenty minute walk from the railway station. It didn't bother us too much, but this could put some people off. Although there is a breakfast kitchen, please be aware that there is no restaurant. The staff are happy to recommend some good local restaurants, the nearest is around 5 minutes' walk, but if you want more choice then 10-15 minutes.
Review 60:Perched right on the edge of the bay, overlooking the harbour, the views are absolutely stunning. The hotel is beautifully appointed, it's crammed full of interesting collectables and the highly individual decor is delightful. The breakfast kitchen is equally superb and each morning is laid out with a wide selection of lovely food. The staff were superb, they were genuinely friendly and nothing was too much to ask for.
Review 61:Wifi is inconvient that checking with code when you log off every time
Review 62:The location is fantastic and all that natural beauty is incorporated into the building. The most amazing inner architecture and decoration. The receptionists are very rriendly and helpful. We had to come back few days later this great experience and the second time was even better. Everything apart from wifi, but doesn't matter too much to affect our stay.
Review 63:There was not a single detail which I did not like. It is an extraordinary hotel. The location is fantastic and all that natural beauty is incorporated into the building. The most amazing inner architecture and decoration. Friendly and helping staff, receptionists are exceptional and Francesca and Margarita make the best breakfast with the best condiment, which is personal care. We had to come back few days later this great experience and the second time was even better
Review 64:My only complaint if you could call it that was I have never been charged for tea at night at a bed and breakfast. In such a wonderful place, it is silly to charge 5 euros for tea in the evening.
Review 65:Everything was perfect. They were extremely helpful and overly nice. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay again and again.
Review 66:The only thing that was a little annoying was that every time you went to get on the wifi from your phone you had to log back In with your username and password that the hotel gave uou.
Review 67:This hotel was just as pretty as in the pictures. Our room had amazing.views and was a quick walk to downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning was so well put together and if something was not out that you wanted the staff would get it for you. We absolutely loved the decor of the hotel and it was. Dry cozy. Would highly recommend!
Review 68:My only wish is that they had more luxurious towels, but I think this is typical for Italy so I wouldn't hold it against them. :-)
Review 69:We loved the room with a beautiful view, the design of the hotel with incredibly artful detail and the breakfast was fantastic!!
Review 70:Impossible to see the hotel sign in the dark - it's hidden behind a hedge. If you are in a room below the deck and it is windy, check the chairs are all secured or you will hear them rattling in the wind all night.
Review 71:Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, gorgeous view, interesting decor, thoughtful touches
Review 72:the beds are hard but not any different than any other European bed…..
Review 73:this was heaven..the view is spectacular..the breakfast was wonderful…wish I could go there every week!!!!! the location is perfect to get around to all the area via train or bus or just to enjoy Sorrento!!!…loved it
Review 74:Hotel exceeded expectations, large comfortable well equipped bedroom/bathroom, with quirky décor throughout the hotel with many feature pieces of furniture/fittings. Hotel staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating providing an excellent personal service, nothing was too much trouble for them. Many lounge areas to chill out and relax in the hotel, all with interesting features. Great breakfast service with an excellent selection of foods, nothing better than an Al Fresco breakfast with stunning views over the bay. Hotel about 10 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento but with great views from a high vantage point. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 75:There is no kitchen so one night we wanted to sit out on the terrace and order drinks from the bar and order a pizza but we were told it was not allowed. I think if you don't serve food we should be able to enjoy the location and bar and bring up some food.
Review 76:So uniquely decorated. Breakfast and staff were very friendly. It was just like being a guest in a big family mansion.
Review 77:Magic magic and more magic. What a beautiful hotel.Artistically developed, a most relaxing space we just loved this hotel. Most helpful staff .All a delight. We are travelling around the world and this is the best hotel we have stayed in.
Review 78:Magic,magic,magic .An absolutely exquisite experience. We are travellingaround the world ,Staying in 37 hotels, this one is the best we havestayed in.A Place to truly relax a living museum.A Treat for yoursenses.Don't miss this one.Fabulous staff very helpfull all offthem.Thankyou all.
Review 79:Wifi ..... frustrating tendency to drop connection. Irritating process to log back on
Review 80:Location ..... just far enough out of the bustle of Sorrento. Beautiful views. People ..... excellent, without exception
Review 81:This hotel is the most artistic hotel I have ever stayed in. It is filled with pottery and books and art. The breakfast on the roof was delightful and the staff extremely attentive. It is a one of a kind experience. Top notch.
Review 82:Maison la Minervetta is even better in person! My husband and I were blown away by our stay during our recent trip through Italy. The hotel is beautifully quirky, the staff is excellent, and the location is superb. Thanks for a wonderful stay in Sorrento!
Review 83:No hot water in room, no heater, wifi didnt work well
Review 84:Spacious room and bathroom, chic decor, nice view from room, good value for money, not too far from le delphino, beautiful hotel
Review 85:We loved the ambience of the place - the style suited our taste. The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful - their suggestions for restaurants also were just right for us. Breakfast and early evening drinks on the terrace were wonderful.
Review 86:Both very minor - wifi required you to login each time after iPhone went to lockscreen (frustrating). Pool didn't get much sunlight in the afternoon (late September) so was very cold and uninviting. Neither mattered in the slightest as there is so much to do around Sorrento.
Review 87:Concierge was incredibly helpful and friendly from the start. Hotel was ideally situated for a spectacular view of Bay of Naples with direct (private) stairs to Marina Grande and just a short walk from the old town of Sorrento. Room was impeccably clean and well thought-out with a jaw-dropping view from a window that expended the entire length and height of one wall (superior double). Breakfast was brilliant, hotel was designed beautifully and staff were always excellent. Stayed as a honeymooning couple - can't recommend this enough!
Review 88:1). No tea making facilities in the room, even our suite. 2) would be better if internet can connect automatically each time instead of having to type and connect each time.
Review 89:Everything apart from minor details, but doesn't matter too much to affect our stay.
Review 90:We had a room below the terrace.Due to a storm the wind moved the stands for the parasols which sounded as if somebody was moving furniture around, so we did not get much sleep the first night. The next nights were calm.
Review 91:All rooms have huge windows with a view over the sea to Mount Vesuvius.Greta views equally from the common areas and the terrace; small pool and private access to the village/marina below. Very original decoration, excellent breakfast served by two lovely ladies.
Review 92:We had to leave to go home!
Review 93:Fantastic views, loads of places to sit and relax, wonderful large rooms, quirky decor, small enough for staff to greet you personally, nothing too much for them, easy to walk into town, we would love to go back. Delfino Restaurant just down the steps (300 of them!) but the only private access to the Marina Grande. Marina Grande is still a proper fishing community and we were lucky that there was a fish festival evening during our visit with a mix of locals and tourists, food stalls with offerings from local restaurants - cheap, cheerful and very friendly.
Review 94:The pool is really small however you can go down the beach club free of charge so that works out perfectly.
Review 95:The hotel is absolutely stunning. Amazing views and the room are gorgeous. The breakfast is also excellent.
Review 96:Needs washcloths. Shower Water was too warm and wouldn't cool further.
Review 97:The unique interior design was special. There are a lot of design books and Magazines in the lobby and in the rooms to enjoy. Breakfast is delicious and the view from the deck is amazing. I wish we could have spent more time there.
Review 98:This wasnt a problem for us as we are a young couple, but it is a VERY steep descent down to the beach, with a lot of stairs. So anyone with injuries, or bad knees/hips should be aware.
Review 99:LOVED the decor! it was such a cool place and had a great vibe. Could spend hours just looking at all the great art. Great location and view. Very close to awesome restaurants and beach. Short walk into downtown. The staff were very friendly and all their recommendations were spot on.
Review 100:Not sure we didn't like anything. If your a sunbather, the pool area dies lose the sun for the remainder of day at about lunchtime, so the pool is quite fresh all the time as well. For us we used this as an excuse to have a lovely long sunny lunch/ afternoon in the marina.
Review 101:The hotel was in a brilliant location for both the marina and the main town. Parking massive plus. Great views from rooms with panoramic windows, and we were lucky enough because of this to have front row seats to what felt like a personal firework display. Steps not for the faint hearted, but without them it wouldn't have the charm!! Staff couldn't have been more helpful, great restaurant recommendations and not pushing you towards expensive, just good food.
Review 102:They could have some more staff at the breakfast. If a lot of guests are coming at the same time the lovely ladies at the breakfast can be a bit overstrained.
Review 103:Very nice Hotel with a great view and even parking options, which are hard to find in Sorrento.
Review 104:A little far from the center of town and it was 293 steps down to the beach from our room. But honestly, it was worth it.
Review 105:Everything, the views, the privacy, the lobby, the patio, the uniqueness, the cleanliness. The hotel is awesome and I would love to come back to it again.
Review 106:Beautifully designed and considered interiors. Helpful staff. Amazing location and view. Free use of the Bagni Delfino in the Grande Marina. The perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Review 107:Excellence - Fantastic personal service in unique individually styled rooms with a relaxed and superb setting...a must try. Our first time to Sorrento and a perfect choice
Review 108:Everything was amazing! We were on our honeymoon and wanted something special- well we were not disappointed. This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in! Felt more like someone's home than a hotel. It made all our other hotels on our honeymoon pale into nothing! Lovely staff and the breakfast is amazing!!!! See you next time!!!
Review 109:I didn't like having to leave, I wish I could have stayed longer.
Review 110:The entire experience was excellent. Welcoming, comfortable, and with impressive views. From the breakfast, to the room service, the pool, the room and bathroom, the living area, the terrace.....everything was so carefully considered and so beautifully executed. This hotel has totally nailed what it is to be a hotel. I am already looking at dates to visit again.
Review 111:Only the internet that was a bit annoying.
Review 112:I liked the rooms very much and the view. The breakfast. was very tasty and home made. The friendly staff, the manager Floriana very efficient and helpful. The view from the hotel .The service and the uniqueness of the hotel. We felt at home and not in a hotel.
Review 113:Such a beautiful hotel, you could spend hours just looking at all the wonderful books, pottery, display cases and artwork. Very special the staff were amazing, lovely comfortable rooms ,excellent breakfast taken on the terrace looking out to sea ! Fabulous selection. We had a fantastic time.
Review 114:We couldn't stay longer!~
Review 115:The staff was absolutely the most amazing hotel staff we have ever met. Everything about this hotel was outstanding. We are very seasoned travelers and this was the most spectacular place we have ever stayed. You have to visit this hotel!
Review 116:Nil
Review 117:I love the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It gives a feeling of sea and sunshine even though we came in Nov.
Review 118:We liked everything about this hotel
Review 119:All excellent
Review 120:It is an exceptionally beautiful hotel in every way.
Review 121:Nothing
Review 122:Room was excellent, staff excellent especially the breakfast ladies! Great views good location
