Review 1：The facilities were tired and could do with an overall spruce up ie. shower temp fluctuated & the communal kitchen was not very clean.
Review 2：However, the location was very good, the staff were great, very friendly and accommodating. They upgraded the room as we were staying quite a few nights at no extra cost & we were most greatful that they were ever so helpful. The pool was a welcome relief after a long hot day!
Review 3：The playground was a joke. Free wifi - yeah right .....50mb per unit regardless of how long you stay... Also only one washing machine for the entire camp is not adequate laundry facilities

This was the worst experience of a motel I have ever had in New Zealand

Review 22：Cooking facilities were old damaged and not fit for using. Carpets dirty & most lights did not work. During rain the unit leaked. No book with brochures were available to tell the customer about Hastings and environment.

For value I guess you pay cheap and you get cheap won't be staying there again

Review 37：The room wasn't ready for us. The microwave was filthy, there was no internal telephone or access to Wifi. The exit was so far away especially for my husband who has a disability - it was difficult for him.
Review 38：Stairs to enter the building and the hallway smelt like cat urine. Was not at all soundproof - able to hear what was happening in the room next to me including the snoring.

Review 42：Overall it just felt like the motel was overpriced and was overdue to be modernized. Room had no phone. Shower had almost no water pressure, making showering a maddening experience. Door lock was the most insecure type. Bed mattress and box spring were very light-weight and like jello - getting into bed could end up pushing the bed a meter away, or offsetting the very light mattress off the box-spring. Bathroom sink was metal, and of the two-tap variety - giving you either cold or scalding hot options. General quality of the room was somewhat 'primitive'. Easy to hear all the action in the room next door. Out-of-sight surfaces that cleaners would not normally see were quite dirty indeed, but whatever, I guess I'm tall.
Review 43：Staff was very friendly. The place was not bad really. Mostly clean. Mostly peaceful. Location is not interesting but it's convenient enough. Pool looked kind of fun, kind of basic, but didn't try it.
Review 44：I sent an email outlining my concerns about the lack of cleaning done in the unit and the faulty toaster and cooking plates. I have had no response in 3 days.
Review 45：The carpet had stains on and obviously not been shampooed for ages. The chair was unstable, the bathroom fan filthy, the shower walls had mould , bathroom door looked damp and germ ridden. Pillows were all stained, and I demanded a new one, saying refused to put my head on pillow. Bathroom vanity had damage to edge, allowing germs to enter. plug for basin was filthy and dishes had chips on, plates did not feel clean in the beginning for us. Spoke of my concerns to several people that had stayed at Apple Motor Inn and they said they had the same experience. Only took two days going barefoot on the carpet to get a massive foot infection that has cost me money at doctors to get on going medication. Note, the only time was barefoot was in the Apple Motel. Never again would go there. Have travelled the world and stayed in many hotels and can only compare with an hotel in France for poor cleaning. When complaining to management at Apple Motor Inn, was brushed off, as they explained that the motel is "budget"...my concerns are even if "budget" there is NO excuse for unhygienic and filthy rooms. !!! Not happy at all.

Review 68：Very dated, in desperate need of a spruce up. The stainless steel washbasin is awful and the chrome on the taps has come off. The TV is up on the ceiling above the ranch slider and would be impossible to watch for any length of time. Why not put it on the desk? The only chair is an upright steel one with a cushion. Maybe the owners should spend a night in this unit.

Review 70：I didn't like the front of house staff attitude, not friendly and welcoming at all " what can I do for you" was all I got on my arrival. No hello or even a thank you at the end of my stay. The kitchen was so very dirty, it shouldn't even be there. These guys obviously don't care about hygiene. Very disappointed.

Review 82：I could tell that the room was used for smokers in the past. The shower door could not be shut properly. The couch was an old sofa bed. It was very uncomfortable. I was not sure if it was on purpose or not, but one of the kitchen cabinet door was missing. If you treat it as a shelf, it looks fine, but it was a bit odd as it was a part of cabinets.
Review 83：If you are after a cheap option, this place is very reasonable. The location is good. The building is far from the road. It is not noisy at all during the night.
Review 84：I felt disgusted to find someone elses hair my sheets indicating the bedding wasn't changed after the last guest. The shower faucet fell off about 5 times during each use. Not very enjoyable having to repair a shower faucet every 30 secs.

Review 86：Owner has a penchant to helping himself from my credit card. The first unit had a broken bed. The manager said "That's what you get with a budget room. We can give you a standard room but they cost more". The standard room came complete with animal hairs.

When we questioned the heat pump not working we were told its only for summer thats why there is a heater (I felt like a naughty girl for asking).
