Reviews for Hotel De Posthoorn
Review 1:A really nice small individual hotel, a refreshing change from the standard business hotels that I've been used to! Lovely central hotel in a very attractive old town!
Review 2:Didn't immediately find heating, but had it sorted out by morning of day two. Very minor issue.
Review 3:Pleasant spacious room, nice helpful hosts, good breakfast. Location good for railway (15min walk)
Review 4:Just don't expect you are in a real hotel, with reception, lobby and always personnel around.
Review 5:I booked the place as if it where a hotel (I was on a business trip), but it was a kind of bed and breakfast. Initially I was a little disappointed, but then the stay turned out to be very pleasant: large and quiet room, enjoyable breakfast served in the kitchen by the house keeper, perfect wifi.
Review 6:The room was very cold and if you turned up the heat, the radiator got boiling hot, hard to adjust to get just a little warmth instead of vulcano-hot. Other than this everything was perfect.
Review 7:Nice, big room. Good bed. Great breakfast. Very friendly owners.
Review 8:Not so easy to find when arriving late so best take a taxi from the station and would have liked tea/coffee in teh room.
Review 9:A nice small hotel with a very friendly service in a convenient location. Perfect for a short stay
Review 10:Nothing worth mentioning.
Review 11:Small scale cosy hotel right in the centre of this lovely historic town. Clean and well equipped: spacious bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. An excellent breakfast in an open kitchen/breakfast room, that gives you this "homely feeling". Value for money.
Review 12:Heavy booted neighbours upstairs.
Review 13:Comfort, location and friendly, straightforward and welcoming staff. It really hits the spot without the expensive glitz and glamour.
Review 14:It was not an inconvenience to us, but there is no restaurant or bar.
Review 15:It's nicely situated in the centre of an attractive and interesting town. Everything is very informal and comfortable, with a friendly and accommodating proprietor. Breakfast is extremely Dutch - and plenty of it!
Review 16:No parking but there is a parking nearby at a very reasonable price
Review 17:Very friendly and helpful staff Good breakfast Outside patio ++ Centrally located
Review 18:Stairs entrance steep. On arrival staff carried case but anyone luggage needs be fit. Prefer able make tea in room but did have use of kitchen
Review 19:Spacious elegantly decorated room. Comfortable bed good location in town centre & near station. Very nice breakfast. Friendly helpful staff (owners?) terrace & kitchen for guest use
Review 20:No private parking, street parking which had to be meter fed every two hours between 9am-9pm.
Review 21:Hotel was centrally located. Rooms were generously sized with large bathrooms with walk in showers. Breakfast was huge and freshly made. Staff were extremely helpful.
Review 22:Not easy to offload/load with no dedicated parking. But secure public garage close by with short walk.
Review 23:Very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Easy access to old town with wonderful market square.

Review 40:Lack of parking, but plenty car parks close by so not really a problem. After 6pm and on Sundays, you can park on street outside hotel.
Review 41:Staff really helpful, beyond call :) Convinient stop-over excellent access for train to Amsterdam.
Review 42:The WiFi keeps dropping out which gets frustrating when you are trying to book further arrangements.
Review 43:The room is comfortable, light and airy. The kitchen/dining room is available to guests at any time which is a real bonus. An enjoyable reakfast is provided, and it is a good chance to meet other guests. It has the feel of a Bed and Breakfast rather than a hotel. We enjoyed out short stay.
Review 44:The stairs to the room. But the owner carried our luggage up for us. Very thoughtful.
Review 45:The owners were wonderful and very helpful. You felt at home. We had a room that look out over the lovely garden terrace. There is a charming and warm cafe next door for lunch and dinner.
Review 46:No plug in the sink, could benefit from table lamp in the room.
Review 47:Friendly staff and very helpful especially with car parking fees! Good location and very relaxing.
Review 48:Beautiful place, amazing breakfast as well as the lady who served it to us! We came home from a party one morning and she actually went out of her way to make us a special "hangover" breakfast! It was great! Only a 5 minute walk from the train station and a super comfy bed! I have nothing negative to say about the place, and I'd recommend it to a friend most definately!! Keep up the good work! ;)
Review 49:Hotel Posthoorn felt more like a Bed and Breakfast in a personal home than a 'hotel'-this is not a criticism just an observation and a surprise. The hotel had a typically Dutch stairs which is very steep from the front street door to the hallway. There was another steep stair to our bedroom. Disabled guests or those carrying heavy luggage may find the stairs difficult to climb. Our room was quite cold and looked a little basic and functional. Soap and towels are included. A few additions such as colourful pictures or plants or sachet of shampoo/shower wash would have helped the 'ambience'.
Review 50:Easy to find location near the station. Very attractive town especially near the harbour and main square. Large bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast with boiled eggs, meat, cheese, yoghurt, breads and lovely coffee. Friendly owners.
Review 51:My room didn't have tea/coffee-making facility. Would love to have made myself a quick cuppa when I woke up in the mornings.
Review 52:Good location, close to station, shopping street and harbour. In the buzz of the town, but not noisy. Friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay.
Review 53:WiFi signal less than optimal on third floor, usable but barely.
Review 54:Customer oriented and flexible in letting us arrive early and leave bags in room. Clean and functional room. Location in the restaurant and shopping zones but only 5 minutes from station. Free WiFi.
Review 55:Just two small details: 1. A small trash can in the room would have been handy to throw away small items (plastic wrappings, papers) - although there was one in the bathroom. 2- I would have prefered a normal door instead of the glass door that leads to the bathroom - especially as the door looks directly over the toilet.
Review 56:Very warm and friendly welcome. The owners make you feel at home. The room feels cosy, the bedding is very nice and we were lucky to make use of the nice terras.
Review 57:Lack of some necessary equipment in the room such as waste bin.
Review 58:1) In the downtown, close to the railway station (7 minutes walk). 2) Considerate service 3) Tasty breakfast, cooked by landlady
Review 59:Stairs! (2 floors up) No shampoo in bathroom No rug in bathroom Window frame loose in wall: window could not be shut completely
Review 60:Reception by the owner. Dimension of bathroom Spacious room Breakfast Locking up of bikes Noisy bathroom fan
