Reviews for Parco dei Principi

Review 1:None.

Review 2:The hotel is situated in a park like setting high on the coast with wonderful views over the ocean particularly from the restaurant. Generous sized room with very comfortable bed. We were in the hotel during the low season of early December and it was very quiet, but can imagine that it is very different during the summer months and that there may be an issue with corridor noise as the floors are all tiled. Our room was situated at the rear of the lift shaft and could hear the lift mechanism whenever the lift went up and down. We ate one meal in the restaurant and drove into town for our other meals.

Review 3:We booked a luxury double room but it was difficult to imagine what made our room luxurious. It was adequate but nothing more. At this time of year the hotel is clearly focused on coach trips, which arrive in the afternoon and leave the next day with a great deal of bustle and noise. The menu in the restaurant is therefore very sparse and changes very little from day to day. A request for something which was not on the menu was met with an offer to eat it in the bar; we went elsewhere. Although the shuttle into Sorrento is very helpful as the hotel is a 20 minute walk from town, the last return trip from town was at 2015, which was not helpful as most restaurants do not start serving dinner until 1900. Although the hotel has a sunbathing area it was shut for the season and when we asked if there was somewhere to sit and enjoy the sun we were directed to a park about 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. Definitely not 5 star service.

Review 4:Hotel was very clean and the reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The grounds of the hotel are very impressive and the views from the balcony were wonderful.

Review 5:Only thing was the pool and beach restaurant were closed but we understand it is out of season.

Review 6:Fantastic say! The restaurant food was brilliant and the view was stunning! Allowed us Champagne and brought to our room when bar was closed. Make sure you get a sea view!!

Review 7:Would have liked a rug (?) on the bedroom floor, tiles a little cold, but still looked stunning!

Review 8:The amazing views from the balcony, what a position, and the sunbathing terrace was just perfect down at sea level.

Review 9:It would be helpful to have the shuttle bus run a little later in the evenings.

Review 10:private beach was gorgeous. The staff in the restaurant were incredible, professional and very friendly. everything was excellent.

Review 11:The hotel is very quiet at night for a young couple, we went to the piazza every night and walked back to the hotel

Review 12:The grounds are beautiful, the views amazing and the private beach is perfect!! They have a free shuttle to the piazza which we used every night! And the breakfast was delicious on the terrace!

Review 13:The only negatives were the slightly hard bed and the room was a bit small but this didn't affect our stay.

Review 14:The staff, facilities and our balcony was fantastic.

Review 15:Good hotel but not 5star. Rooms were poorly furnished and tired requiring decoration. Designer hotel but pool not suitable for disabled with no handrails to enter or exit the pool

Review 16:Sea views were magnificent. Concierge was very helpful. Beach staff excellent and helpful

Review 17:This is a wonderful hotel. Beautiful location. Fantastic staff. For luxury and stunning views ask for seaview superior room with a balcony. You never need to leave the hotel and its private beach but when you do there is a regular shuttle bus into busy Sorrento which only takes a few minutes.

Review 18:evening meals are massively overpriced and probably our worst meal in Sorrento (despite the beautiful view). Trying to be swishy and high end but not very tasty or well executed. This is in contrast with the daytime food served in the beachfront cafe which whilst expensive was delicious.

Review 19:some of the staff in particular were extremely helpful and attentive - Antonio stands out as does the older gentleman supervising breakfast. 3 of our party are gluten free and both remembered this and made sure that we had lovely alternatives and also recommended places to eat in Sorrento. Views over the sea to Vesuvius over a super breakfast. crisp clean rooms and linen. Excellent and very child friendly safe beach that was never crowded.

Review 20:Staff were very unhelpful, dry and unpleasant. Struggled to smile at the best of times. The hotel is nowhere near the standard of other 5 star hotels. This hotel would barely pass 4 stars. It is old, outdated, and the hotel corridors look like a hospital ward. The Wifi is very weak and the room television looks like a computer monitor screen from the 90s. The pool closes at 6PM and there ia not much else to do within the hotel itself. The room also does not have a hotel directory, and you are forced to call reception for any queries that you might have. Any other young honeymooners should not stay here.

Review 21:The view from the hotel

Review 22:Considering it was summer it would be better to have the pool open past its current closing time even it is just extended for adults.

Review 23:From the money we arrived all the staff were friendly and happy to assist with any enquiry. The room was always cleaned very well and the hotel had an amazing view and grounds

Review 24:It was a little out of town, great courtesy bus but if it's hot walking is a bit much so you need to a taxi if the shuttle times don't work. We ate lunch at the cafe by the water a few days which was great, we had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and compared to Sorrento it was over priced and not as nice.

Review 25:Amazing location with access to private beach front area for swimming and sun baking plus pool. Piano Bar outdoor during the evening with live music on the balcony. The hotel is very unique with a retro vibe. The view from the hotel cannot be beaten, absolutely stunning!

Review 26:The only downside was that the shuttle bus into sorrento finished quite early in the evening.

Review 27:Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, would definitely revisit this lovely hotel.

Review 28:The private beach area is great, but many of the loungers are reserved (every day) for locals who are not guests of the Hotel. These people do not show up until much later in the day so the chairs (in really good positions) are sitting empty most of the day.

Review 29:The view. Their beach. The breakfast. The size of the rooms.

Review 30:Even though my daughter's reservation stated "sea view", she was given a corner room with a hillside view and a sea view only if they went out on the balcony. No view of the ocean at all from inside the room - very disappointing for the price we paid for the room. In both our rooms, the AC was just so, so. It was uncomfortable to sleep at night as we were there in July and 90 degree heat. The overall design of the hotel is unique but a little cold because of all the blue and white tile everywhere,

Review 31:We had a ocean front large room with a French balcony. It was fantastic and offered a magnificent view of the coast from right to left, including Mt. Vesuvious a do Capri. We loved the room even though it took a little getting used to with all the tile floors. The private beach was awesome and we enjoyed a whole day lounging there enjoying lemon granitas and pizza we ordered from the bar right there. The breakfasts were the best we had anywhere on our 12 days in Italy. We enjoyed them on the beautiful patio overlooking the Amalfi Coast. We also appreciated the the courtesy shuttle to Piazza Tasso which we used several times. The staff was always helpful and nice. We would definitely stay here again. Very lovely.

Review 32:Could only pick up a WiFi signal in our bathroom.

Review 33:Free shuttle bus service to central Sorrento, an extra €5 and it'll take you to the port. The hotel is a 5 min drive/15 min walk from the centre of Sorrento. Beautiful view from our balcony (room 413), I'd argue it's the best view the hotel has to offer. Gio Ponti decor was really nice, I loved the tiles. Private beach was a god send in the hot weather. We mentioned we were on our Honeymoon and we had Prosecco on ice in our room on the first evening!

Review 34:Perfect location, friendly and efficient staff. I loved the unique architecture and wall surfaces, and blue and cream tiles. Spectacular views. I will return. 1960's but not old fashioned. Sparkling gem by the sea!

Review 35:No table service for tea at breakfast, bit awkward having to carry cups, teapot etc..no trays, considering it is advertised a five star hotel. Room woodwork needs painting asap.

Review 36:stunning location, outside terrace, sea poo, hotel design and excellent maid service

Review 37:Poor breakfast, but even has a champagne.

Review 38:You will forgive this hotel all the weakspots after you enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the sea and Vesuvio from a sea view room. Interesting design, big territory with a park.

Review 39:People at reception. The fact there was not much infos or brochures on what to do in region. Many spaces are misused like the bar where no animations. Massage not very professionnal Shuttle takes you to the city but do not drive you back (?)

Review 40:Fantastic views. People very sweet at restaurant

Review 41:Along the floors and in the rooms were no carpets so it was a little noisy and it was not the elegant look of a five star hotel. The breakfast was good ( fish, meat, cheese, eggs) but I missed the vegetables like rice, potatoes, mushrooms, melanzane, olives or the traditional bruschetta's.

Review 42:As we had a luxury sea view room, the views and the sunset were unforgettable. Easy to reach city center in 5 minutes due the shuttle service. Spectacular surroundings ( in the middle of a real botanical garden), big pool with sea water and bar, good access to the beach with lift, nice breakfast terrace with view on the golf, spacious rooms, comfortable bed.

Review 43:Only imporvement would be breakfast coffee. If you didn't order espresso or cappuccino from the waiters, the coffee from the buffet was tasteless and unpleasant.

Review 44:Location, ambience was good. Staff well trained, friendly and helpful, facilities were clean, food good. Lovely views to the sea, but also close to Sorrento. Garden gave a sense of calm as well.

Review 45:The rooms were large and comfortable, but somewhat stark and uninteresting.

Review 46:Staff help was exceptional. Giovanni was very helpful with transportation, trains, etc beyond his help in the hotel. I have a disability and appreciated that.

Review 47:Service was not great. We never got service to the room, even though we asked for new towels twice.

Review 48:The view from the balcony is amazing. We really didn't want to leave the hotel to go into town.

Review 49:Wifi crashed all the time. The hotel is renting a terrace for weddings. We stayed fot three nights and had three weddings under our window. Basically, no internet and no sleep.

Review 50:Hotel is really nice. Staff is very helpfull.

Review 51:The €5 per person to be driven the extra distance from the drop-off point to the Port was a little disappointing considering the short distance involved. It's a shame that the beach closes at 6pm in the summer as it would have been nice to relax there after a long day of sight seeing in the warm weather.

Review 52:The stunning view across the bay from our first floor balcony was priceless. The staff were so lovely and very helpful. The room was so spacious and well set out and had everything we needed.

Review 53:Though I can appreciate the modern design the overall room feel left some to be desired. beds were not all that comfortable and furnishings along with bathroom caused the room to have a hospital feel.

Review 54:Loved the dining hall and its views of the Mediterranean. Great to have a drink outside on the terrace.

Review 55:Absolutely everything! Best hotel we ever stayed in, couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our honeymoon. So stylish, and the view.....Can't wait to go back.

Review 56:Pool closing at 6pm not ideal although understandable when hotel having functions. Didn't really understand why the beach area was also closed at this time although didn't detract from our stay.

Review 57:Staff very helpful, received a free bottle of bubbly as it was partners birthday (nice touch). Excellent pool, beach area, lovely surroundings

Review 58:The air condutioning in the rooms needs an overhaul!

Review 59:The Staff was excellent, especially the Concierge, Giovanni, the Dining Room Host, Salvatore, and the Bartender and Lounge Waiter, Alessandro.

Review 60:One day drinking water supplies only, bathroom a little dark. Went down to check on their beach side bar and restaurant as told by the reception, as we thought of having dinner there. But a bit shock when the creepy old lift opened in a dark cave like exit. The restaurant is not open. From the lift to the restaurant the way is dark with lights off. At least, they should have the light on.

Review 61:Love the room, the breakfast sea view area.

Review 62:The only criticism would be that the sunbathing area in the bay closed at 6pm. Could not understand why as it is one of the best times of the day.

Review 63:We loved the bay where you could sunbathe, eat and swim. Beautiful. Our room was great facing the sea with balcony. We could watch sunset.

Review 64:Nothing--this was a great hotel.

Review 65:The STAFF....from the time we entered until we left the entire staff wasgreat. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Concierge Giovanni for his helpwith locating our luggage after 5 days of being lost due to fire in theRome airport. He along with other staff went above the call of duty tolower our stress levels and help our stay be great.

Review 66:Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Review 67:Excellent location next to the sea with a lovely bathing terrace and amazing restaurant. Away from the hassle and bustle but still only a short (10min) walk into the centre of Sorrento, a free shuttle bus is also available all day. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and terraces. The staff were above and beyond helpful and polite. Everywhere within the hotel and its surroundings were immaculate. The breakfasts were the best ever!!! .....highly recommended.

Review 68:The room was a little bit dated and could use some updating but other than that our stay was excellent!

Review 69:Beautiful hotel and property, lush landscaping as soon as you drive in, gorgeous view of the ocean and Vesuvius from the room and balcony, breakfast was delicious, private beach was really nice too.

Review 70:If I have to criticise 1 thing, the wifi connection is very poor which made skyping my family impossible and face timing was difficult.

Review 71:I had a fantastic room (215) with a huge balcony that had uninterrupted views of Naples, Vesuvius and Procida. As a solo traveller I was made to feel very comfortable by the attentive, friendly staff and the seafood was out of this world.

Review 72:The hotel is a truly perfect place to relax and to enjoy. Whether gazing on the sea or wandering about in the splendid park, every moment in this stunning setting seems bliss. Utmost admiration towards the stuff who treated every (and there have been some challenging ones!) guest with incredible, heartfelt hospitality!!!

Review 73:The hotel needs a real refresh.. You pay a lot of money but the hotel is not really worth visiting. The Breakfast was good and the view on Sorrento is nice...

Review 74:The Breakfast was really good.

Review 75:Room was very hot and effected our sleep. The system in the room only blew out hot air and we were told we could not have air conditioning because it was a centralised system that was not turned on yet for the summer. Also restaurant staff were very friendly on the first day at breakfast but unfriendly after the first evening, we think bc we did not tip them. We usually tip at the end of our stay when we receive great service but these guys blew it.

Review 76:An architectural gem that has been incredibly well preserved. Think it would be great in summer to enjoy the pool & beach facilities and the gorgeous terrace view for outdoor dining.

Review 77:Unfortunately our room had a connecting door and we were woken 2 mornings before 7am by a noisy family however we told the hotel and they blocked the room next door to give us the next 2 days of quite

Review 78:Locations it was just out of town and the views from the hotel restaurant and patios were fantastic

Review 79:The address is different to what is on booking.com and Google so get in touch with the hotel staff for the correct information... We got quite lost looking for the place. Other than that was wonderful.

Review 80:Staff were fantastic, wifi was good, clean and most of all the view! Was really beautiful. Free shuttle into town was handy.

Review 81:the food for dinner was unfortunately very bad. the reception comittee helpful but not very warm.

Review 82:the architecture by Gio Ponti and design is exquisite and the documentations very nicely presented. we loved the tiles and colors, each room is unique! lovely view and surroundings.

Review 83:There was a lack of information about the hotel and it's services in the room but the staff were helpful when contacted.

Review 84:The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable with fabulous ocean views.

Review 85:The hotel was pretty much perfect for what we needed. My only criticism was not having tea and coffee making facilities but I can live with that ;)

Review 86:The hotel is fantastic. It's a little bit out of town but it's a nice walk. The views from the restaurant are incredible and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They really try and go the extra mile. The room was always spotless and they would clean it even if we left late in the afternoon. The bed was very comfortable and very large. It was nice having the shutter on the big window that could be operated from the bed. Breakfast was delicious too.

Review 87:We think that the free shuttle to central Sorrento should go to the train station and the marina free of charge.

Review 88:We liked the views, lovely hotel, clean and comfortable - the staff are very friendly and helpful!

Review 89:A bit of a walk to town and the pick up system could be improved especially as this was the off-season and not that many guests.

Review 90:The views from the terrace was fantastic. The Gio Ponti design gives the hotel a special quality, a unique set in the 1960s.

Review 91:far From the center Bathroom old and moldy We went here for New Year's Eve celebration big mistake should be better to go here for summer But for sure won't return here anymore The hotel style is weird not classy at all (for me not a 5star material ) The restaurant is too expensive and closes too early The parking is not free No wifi in my room No sauna Only for summer use I think there are better hotel less expensive with the same quality

Review 92:Eccellente Breakfast ( the best I ever saw ) Nice Staffs The Beach Good resturant staffs Good front desk staffs Booking is a great site everyone should trust !

Review 93:Staff. I am from America and am used to customer service. The staff lacked kindness and general customer service skills. There was one exception and that was a female trainee who was very nice.

Review 94:Location is cool on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples. Sorrento was a nice small town even though it is a big tourist town.

Review 95:We were tired from a long day out and wanted to get a pizza delivered to hotel. We were told at front desk that it was not allowed. First time in 54 years that i can not bring in something to eat into a hotel.

Review 96:Slow service..only 1 staff at the desk at one time n 1 bell boy/concierge/ janitor. No kettle even in junior suite..cannot provide one when asked for it.. Breakfast.. very basic.

Review 97:Location

Review 98:The hotel has a very nice view, but unfortunately they've put us in a room backwards, with no view to the ocean

Review 99:Beds and shets are the best. Breakfast was really good with a nice view to the volcano. Don't miss it

Review 100:We can hear the sound from neiberhood ,it would be nice if it can be improved.

Review 101:Fantastic balcony and great view.Nice staff.Clean rooms.Beautiful garden. The shuttle bus is very helpful.

Review 102:It is a funny hotel - for lovers of 60s 'futuristic' it is perfect - but it is a strange experience as you don't really expect it.

Review 103:Loved being outside of central Sorrento. Really liked the grounds and having access to the sea.

Review 104:If you need a normal internet access we can't recommend this hotel. The access to the internet was a nightmare for us. Very slow and unconstent. We tried all places in the hotel and it was always the same. The bright and cold white and blue lights in the room and in the restaurant were very consequent. You also note that the hotel try to safe some costs with the service. Air conditioning in the room was so loud that we have to switch it off and to cover the outlet with a towel, with the result that the room was quite cold.

Review 105:The location within an old garden park, directly in front of the sea is fantastic. Ask for a room with sea view or with park/sea view on the right side of the building. We enjoyed the park/sea view. Original 60's design as well in the bathroom, but clearly not with the comfort of a modern 5 star hotel.

Review 106:No Jacuzzi or sauna, it was warm, but not warm enough anymore for swimming. The tile floor might ook cool, but it is very cold and very noisy, no noise redction on the door to the hallway. Expensive costs for hotel parking lot with 15 Euro / night

Review 107:spectacular view on the sea and the bay and mount vesuvio, breakfast buffet is good even with whole grain dark bread, but the choice of cheese and meat is rather limited, that for salmon every morning. Beautiful park. The furniture are Italian design from some years ago, nice, but also the furniture is from some years ago!!

Review 108:There was banging and footsteps preventing me from sleeping up until 2am and agIn from 6am. The night porter was unable - or unwilling to find out which room this noise was coming from. Asa result I got only about 3 1/2 hours sleep, and this was at the end of a very long day travelling, when I really needed a good sleep.

Review 109:No in room hotel guide book made it hard to find out what the facilities were. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Shower over narrow bath could be dangerous for older people.

Review 110:The location was fantastic as it was right on the cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and Ischia. It was a 20 minute walk from the centre and ferries, but that was really no problem.

Review 111:Reception staff unfriendly, unobliging and unco-operative. not customer friendly..same for breakfast staff and housekeeping! Concierge only exception, he's good Location a bit away from the centre shuttle bus frequency needs improving.

Review 112:exterior and interiors of property very well appointed, ambience, decor, amenities all good. concierge good shuttle bus driver lovely!

Review 113:Plentiful smoked salmon, cheese, mozzarella and if you have a sweet tooth you will love the breakfast- at least 12 kinds of cakes, 3 types of sugary croissant and sugary cereals - No muesli or nutty cereals, only eggs served are hard boiled with frankfurters the only sausages. Fruit was always apples, kiwi, oranges, tinned peaches with prunes/ grapes or pineapple.

Review 114:Location is wonderful Relaxing on the pontoon and swimming in the sea in late October Walking around the park and enjoying cocktails overlooking the bay

Review 115:Was a bit of a walk to Sorrento, 20 minutes at a good pace, and not ideal for parents with buggies as pavements very narrow on some stretches with fast moving traffic. Personally I felt our room was basic and would have liked to have a little more of that luxury feel for the money and the fact that it is a five star hotel, but you do only spend a small amount of time in the room and everything else more than makes up for this.

Review 116:The grounds, pool and sunbathing area could not be faulted and are well maintained, hotel we very clean. The views of Sorrento harbour, Naples and out to sea are beautiful. Breakfast on the dining area balcony was really lovely. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Review 117:Food quality was low for prices. Restricted access to facilities due to film shoot Not helpful staff at check in and information desk

Review 118:Architecture and design View One energetic and notable staff member

Review 119:The outdated look of the bedroom. The fact that shuttle service to Sorrento Centro stops at 7.

Review 120:Location, view of the sea. Breakfast. Parking accommodations, staff.

Review 121:The beds were the smallest, hardest most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. We stayed in 4 hotels in this region and this hotel served the poorest breakfast, tired and very very limited.

Review 122:The staff were lovely on Reception and very helpful

Review 123:Location. Its a 20 min walk to Piazzo Tasso, the heart of town, and the even further to the marina for ferry to Capri. By no means a deal breaker, but just be aware. There is a shuttle but not excessively convenient. Our tour of Pompeii picked us up at hotel which was nice. Cab ride from town or train will be 20 Euros. Not cheap. Nice that at least some of the walk after a nice dinner in town is past open shops and shoppers. Would have liked restaurant to be a little better. However, if you are at the hotel and are looking to go somewhere else for dining, and don't feel like walking all the way into town and back, GO LEFT out of the gate, away from town, and there are much closer restaurant and other hotel dining options immediately available. 4th floor water pressure and wifi were weaker than desired. Bathroom was a bit dark. All in all, great stay.

Review 124:Hotel and grounds are amazing. Stroll though the large gardens and past the scenic overlooks perched on the side of the cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples, complete with lounge spots on your way past the beautiful old Villa over to the pool with its own bar. Really nice. Clean, comfy rooms with very helpful staff. Breakfast out on the terrace. Its all pretty dreamy. Might be a bit too blue and white, but all in all, fantastic.

Review 125:Very great location, hard to find with GPS b/c should be Via Bernardino Rota on the address and when you punch that in all is well. Architecture interesting and sufficiently up to date. Quiet, great beach, food great. A short walk to town. High recommendation.

Review 126:the hotel rent his faciletes to external events. in tow nights ther was a lot of noice until midnight. (wedding).

Review 127:the hotel is in a nice park and nice vew

Review 128:Quite a walk from the centre of Sorrento but the hotel is so good you don't really have to leave.

Review 129:The hotel is like a design museum for Gio Ponti. Absolutely amazing decor and design. Then of course there is the private pontoon and the amazing views. My wife and I both agree that it is our new favourite hotel.

Review 130:the breakfast is great if you like pastries but the view is stunning, the wifi is awful, drinks are expensive

Review 131:the design, the staff, the food, the view, the pool, the beach, the room, beautifully maintained, the gardens are glorious

Review 132:Nothing, this is probably the best hotel i've ever been in.

Review 133:I liked everything. The hotel is just amazing. Everything is beautiful, well-designed and well-kept.

Review 134:The shuttle bus timetable needs to be extended, it was very limited. Although this is a free service. The hotel was noisy at night with a function on for each of the 3 nights that we stayed.

Review 135:The hotel offered great views of the bay and the rooms were a generous size. The private beach was perfect and easily accessible with the hotel's lift.

Review 136:Everything , this hotel is so old and tatty and the all the rooms are small , even the breakfast is bad i cannot explain everything that was wrong with this hotel but do not stay here i have stayed in much better hotels in sorrento

Review 137:The beach

Review 138:Awful sexist service. Bill took 45 mins to arrive, staff at poolside hotel were so rude and slow. Hotel is chronically understaffed - only benefit of the hotel is that it made me really appreciate adequate service. Do not stay here - staff have no respect for the integrity of your time.

Review 139:Checking out of the hotel.

Review 140:The breakfast is not for 5* hotel;the beach works just until 7pm and shuttle bus too...

Review 141:The territory and view of the terrace are very beautiful!we admired the music in the evenings!and the dinner was amazing!also very nice beach!

Review 142:There was nothing to dislike!

Review 143:Fantastic hotel with amazing views and facilities. Staff were excellent, knowledgable and friendly. Loved the design/architecture and features of this unique hotel. Easy 10 minute walk to Sorrento town, shops and restaurants.
