Reviews for Hotel de Keizerskroon Hoorn

Review 1:The bed was 2 meters long but with boards on the end. I'm a tall guy at 6.3 and that means that if I'm not completely propped up to the top of the headboard with my head, i can't comfortably sleep because my feet are pressed against the boards.this was fairly annoying. I would advise the hotel to invest in beds without boards at the feet. Also the noise every morning. We were right above the alley of the hotel and hotel staff used that alley a lot for transport and deliveries to name a few.

Review 2:There was a big bathroom with all the needed accessoiries. The bathroom might have been bigger than the actual room itself.. the bathroom and linnen on the bed were properly cleaned.

Review 3:The fact that there wasn't a citizen M in every town I visited.

Review 4:This was my first time at the Citizen M and I still love every moment of staying at this place. No shuttles needed from the airport - you literally exit the airport and walk to the hotel - it is AT the airport. I also get the idea that staff enjoy working at the Citizen M - they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Compliment to management!

Review 5:Beds were 2 singles pushed together, which is the norm nowadays however, as they were supersoft beds, they came apart extremely easily. The coffee creamer and sugar weren't refilled with the room service, but supplies were happy given in bulk by the hotel manager

Review 6:The hotel, whilst under construction, was kept clean and rhetoric noise to a minimum. The hotel manager was an absolute gent. The hotel room was superb. The spa bath extremely spacious, I'm 6ft 4" and could bath without feeling like a pretzel. The location was perfect, 5 minutes walk from the station and situated in the middle of town. Restaurants and bars were no more than 15 minutes stumbling distance away. We went away to surprise a friend and will return to the hotel for a holiday again. I even asked for a single rose to be placed on the bed upon arrival, this was done. It was mistakenly taken by the maid but the manager replaced immediately, at his own expense. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Review 7:Breakfast was slightly disorganized. Would of liked to of seen a bit more selection. Simple..

Review 8:The room was beautiful and comfortable, you are right in the center of Hoorn, very short walking distance from the train station to the hotel and the staff were lovely. The Jacuzzi tub made my whole trip!

Review 9:The entire bathroom floor is used as the drain for the shower so you have to use a squeege and wipe the entire bathroom floor after showering in order to use the sink and toilet. The room was stuffy and window opened to a porch/staircase area, so it had no privacy and we couldn't leave the window open to air out the room, because there were people passing by and someone could just climb right into the room. The reception doesn't stay open 24/7 and they lock the front door. They issue a key to go out the back through a private alley.

Review 10:The hotel was clean and the gentleman working at the reception was very friendly and very helpful. Also, we checked in very late, not realizing that they didn't keep the reception open 24/7 but they were very kind to wait for us to arrive.

Review 11:The breakfast was pretty sad. We didn't expect it to be included but when we asked what the price was, the receptionist said it was part of our reservation. Halfway through eating she came to our table to say she made a mistake, we'd have to pay extra. If I'd known, I wouldn't have had anything! Since it was her fault she should have waived it.

Review 12:We booked Hoel de Keizerskroon last minute after another accommodation didn't work out. Since it is fairly high season and this place was still available, I didn't necessarily thing it was going to be great. I was wrong! The man at reception was extremely courteous and customer-service oriented (something that does oftentimes lack in the Netherlands, if we're being honest). The rooms were clean, very well equipped with amenities, and perfectly in the middle of town! Even the art on the walls seemed to be carefully chosen to make the place feel authentic and homey rather than cold and corporate. The other couple we stayed with ate at the restaurant connected to it and said it was very good as well (bonus!). Overall, I would happily recommend :)

Review 13:The stairs to the top floor were rather steep. The window was either open or closed as the spring had lost its support.

Review 14:The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and fresh. Lovely bathroom with daily toiletries. The location was fab, right in the town centre. Parking in the multi-story way simple and cost 6.10 per day.

Review 15:there were MANY short hairs all over the bathroom and on the throw pillows. also, the bathroom was dusty. I can't imagine that it had actually been cleaned. the wifi didn't work in our room - we had to sit in the hall to use it.

Review 16:great breakfast, and good location

Review 17:I requested when booking a room with a double bed on the first floor as I have difficulty with two lots of stairs. Our room was on the top floor and had two single beds just pushed together not made up as a double bed. Also there was no working ventilation system in the bathroom.

Review 18:The location is excellent.

Review 19:My daughters had a twin room which was quite small and dark.

Review 20:We got a free upgrade to a suite and it was wonderful - it had a jacuzzi and a great shower. Our room was lovely and bright.

Review 21:Small hotel with very personal touch.

Review 22:Very small room with little air circulation--even with fan--but it was an unusually warm night.

Review 23:Great location in town; close to train station. Good breakfast buffet included. Restaurant and bar on premises.

Review 24:our room was extremely hot and steamy, with no air conditioning and - due to the location in the backyard - almost no fresh air. Opening the window made thins even worse, since there were AC vents operating outside our window all night long, very noisy and pumping hot air into the room. I asked for another room at check-in, but a man on reception lied to me that they switch the vents off during the night. Our window faced a dark backyard corner with rubbish storage. A bathroom was a nasty joke, extremely small and hardly more than a shower tube with a sink attached, the floor constantly covered with water. No elevator. Breakfast almost fine, though juice administered by glass at request did not help to start a day. No parking - you are lucky if can park a car nearby. Overall: a nightmarish night with almost no sleep makes me suggest you'd better stay out.

Review 25:the hotel is 5 mins walk from a small beach

Review 26:Room Window was located on a patio filled with running airco's. No airco in our room though. Medium variety of breakfast Complaint about the noise and heat were accepted but no action taken.

Review 54:Location Staff Room Bathroom Breakfast

Review 55:The staff in the hotel were always smiling and very helpful with local information

Review 56:The room was hot, arrived during the festival...so was rather noisy outside.

Review 57:Nice hotel, great food, great staff.

Review 58:Breakfast was a bit hit and miss depending on what time you were there. Probably needed more staff on when it was busy.

Review 59:The location and the food in the evening was excellent. The room was comfortable and well kept.

Review 60:Aircon noise in room 22. Paintings of dogs wearing military/navy uniform. My breakfast coffee never arrived.

Review 61:I got a room during a very busy period. Check-in staff were good and found space for my valuable filming equipment (no secure parking). Dinner and beer was fine. Breakfast was basic.

Review 62:Our room faced the street and evening sun so the room got very hot. We had a floor air conditioner that worked very hard but struggled to cool the room due to its location.

Review 63:It was centrally located and easy to find. The bed was comfortable and room spacious.

Review 64:Some things went wrong:- I booked a double room but got a twin room instead (which was normally cheaper but I paid the full price). - The room had a window without blinds in the roof, right above one of the beds. I didn't notice this until I woke up from the direct sunlight ... before 6AM. - The website claims that the hotel has a private free parking but when I called them, I was told to just park on the streets in the city center as it's free overnight. Not the same thing as a private parking if you ask me ... - Breakfast is ok but very limited.

Review 65:Staff was friendly and helpful. Very good location, right in the citycenter. Good if you expect a clean basic hotel without any luxury.

Review 66:We had a late night and at 2.30am there was a lot of noise under ourbedroom. We went downstairs and discover the night porter was cleaningthe toilets-not good practice in the middle of the night.

Review 67:Staff were friendly and hotel was central

Review 68:There was an unpleasant smell in the corridor outside our rooms on a couple of occasions.

Review 69:The rooms were comfortable and the hotel restaurant food was excellent. The hotel is very central to Hoorn and close to public transport.

Review 70:The room had no shower curtain so the floor got soaked and there wereblack hairs in the bathroom and in the bath. There were no tea andcoffee making facilities. The built in hairdryer was rubbish but theHotel lent me a spare. It was noisy as we were out the back. I wouldrecommend the Hotel down the road the Petit Nord but that was fullybooked right from June but that would be my recommendation to others.

Review 71:The staff were really polite and helpful especially the Manager who wasdoubling up as the night door man and we had some late nights he got outof bed to let us in but we were there for New Year celebrations so latenights were inevitable but the Manager didnt mind.

Review 72:room very basic and small with 2 single beds with strange layout.
