Reviews for Albergo Nazionale

Review 1:When we arrived there was a big bug on a wall of our room, it was very cold inside, room looked bad. On the website is said that Wi-Fi is in every room... no, it's not. I barely cought a signal sometimes. Generally, I'm not recommending that hotel. It should have one star instead of three given.

Review 2:Hotel is located close to the shops, restaurants, etc.

Review 3:If you are used to sleeping on a pillow top bed, you will find these typical European mattress very firm. I personally like a firm bed so it wasn't a problem for me.

Review 4:This hotel was an easy walk from the train station and was charming. The staff spoke excellent English which made check in a breeze but a further advantage was that it made it easy for our friendly host to give us great suggestions that made our stay even better. The dinner we had at the hotel was delicious. We loved this gem of a town which is not particularly well known as a "travel destination" among Americans. It felt like a very authentic Italian experience as I'm sure we were the only American tourists in town. Do take a walk after dinner when the town comes alive in the pedestrian friendly town center. We stayed over a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised at the number of people out and about enjoying the evening as late as eleven a night. There were people of all ages, live music, a sand volleyball match, and even carnival rides in one section of the park. Our late nights the previous few days had us sleeping in past the free breakfast so we can't comment on the offerings but our host thoughtfully saved us a tray of breads and jams and still made us sit out on the terrace to enjoy it while bringing us our hot beverages. My daughter had the best cup of cappucino she's ever had. We took in the cute shops (practice your italian basics before your stay as it isn't guaranteed that everyone will speak English) while we waited to experience the salt baths for which the town is known. The fanciest spa is only opened Friday through Sunday at this time of year, so we settled for more of a "no frills" experience at Il Baistrocchi which was probably easier on the pocket book and still quite relaxing. We wished we'd had another day in this charming town with it's slow relaxing pace and we were sad to say good bye as we sipped a final capiccino on the terrace before catching our 5pm train.

Review 5:- poor breakfast (but excellent cafe) - hotel a bit oldfashionable (equipment and furnitures)

Review 6:- good price - charming service - fast and free WiFi
