Reviews for Nearest Guesthouse
Review 1:Nothing really. I would definitely come back if I ever visit Jeonju again.
Review 2:Warm and friendly guesthouse and owner - Mr Lee. He explained and recommended places & route to visit, what to see & eat while in Jeonju. Wide spread of breakfast include fruits, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, toasts, eggs (make your own) and also provided siew may (dumpling). Location not so far from Hanok vilage - about 10-15mins walk.
Review 3:None
Review 4:The owner is a great man. He is willing to tell you a lot about jeonju and jeonju Hanok village. He recommends good places to eat. The hostel is really cozy and you get to meet people really easy.
Review 5:Everytime Id walk into the common area, all the other guests would stare me down for some reason. It was pretty uncomfortable.
Review 6:Even though I was tired and cranky the owner of the guesthouse was very nice and accommodating.
Review 7:No. Everything is great!
Review 8:Artworks beautifully displayed throughout the corners. Cozy clean and comfortable ambient. The owner Mr. Lim will share with you the stories of Jeonju. Nice breakfast, English-style breakfast, steamed mandoos, variety jams and bread spreads & fruits. I like the heating system for bed, keep me warm when sleeping.
Review 9:This was my favourite place to stay at during my trip through Korea. The staff is very friendly and especially the owner is very interested in showing the city to the travellers. It was thanks to them that I felt I could experience the city to the fullest. The rooms are all very clean and tidy and there was a very delicious breakfast served every morning! It's a very small but cozy guesthouse with a very welcoming atmosphere that made it easy for me to meet interesting people from all over Korea. It was a very lively atmosphere, which I really liked! The guesthouse is a bit hidden, so it might be a bit hard to find at first, but all the interesting places in Jeonju are easy to reach from there and the staff was always helpful when it came to information about transportation or just getting to the locations. Wouldn't want to stay in any other guesthouse and I'll definitely come back again!!
Review 10:I spent a really great time at Nearest, the boss of the guest house was so nice and helpful aaaand the guest house is really pretty. It felt like home. I'm looking forward to come again .
Review 11:I guess the wall is quite thin so I basically can hear next room's voices. They really noisy and stayed up late so late at night I can hear them talked and the door being opened and closed.
Review 12:Overall so nice place to stay when you in jeonju. It also close with downtown (I guess it's downtown with all the shops and restaurants) and jeonju hanok village can be reach by walking
Review 13:Good location, extra clean, nice breakfast and WiFi works properly. The owner, Mr. Lim, is a very interesting person who advised me about the city and made me feel like at home. I met new travellers every day, what made my experience in Nearest unforgettable. Five stars place!
Review 14:NIL - I hope to spend more time in Nearest on my next trip to Jeonju ;)
Review 15:Stayed 1 nite @ 6 Jan 2015. It's my 2nd time here, my 1st visit was during Spring in April 2014. Because I depart a bit late from Seoul, by the time I reached Jeonju it's almost late evening. Despite that, I Managed to tried Jeonju bibimbap this time around and finish off my walks around the Hanok Village. Staying here is comfortable & feels like home especially when U can speak a lot with the owner (communication at my other hostel in other town is limited due to some owner who could not speaks English well). IF you're travelling by Train, advisable to take a taxi (15 mins drive) and get them to drop U at Hanok Village (nearby a church) and U need to walk few blocks up. Some taxi driver may not be able to find the hostel at one glance (based on my previous experience)
Review 16:The hostel is located near the Chinatown/Russian street with lots of clubs around. Looks kinda insecure to me but it was alright.
Review 17:The room was really nice and comfortable. It comes with a locker to keep your stuff which I really like it. The toilets and shower rooms need to be shared but they are very clean and spacious. The girl sitting at the counter was very friendly and nice although she speaks limited english. I asked her how do I get to Jeonju by bus and the direction to my next guesthouse. She helped me search the buses available and called up the owner of the next guesthouse to make sure. Definitely worth every penny.
Review 18:The location is great, about 5 minutes to the Hanok Village. Great breakfast. Eventhough outside was cold during winter, it was warm enough inside the guesthouse. The host speaks excellent english, he gave me a perfect route to go around JeonJu. It is an impressive journey to meet to many friendly guys:)
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:The staff is very friendly and helpful. They give excellent advices on sightseeing, restaurants, cafés.. I warmly recommand staying in this guesthouse.
Review 21:It's a good location but somehow it's located at quite inner part of town and not significant
Review 22:It's a good location where easily access to the town and staffs are good as well as they gave some briefing and helpful when there were some enquiries
Review 23:Wifi connection is not very good in the room. But it's good in the living room. Basically the bathroos are clean, but there's no shower curtain and spaces are not divided for shower. So sometimes toilet was wet.
Review 24:Good lacation & breakfast Cozy room & bed Quiet & clean living room Friendly staff & helpful owner Free towel rental & hair dryer Free shampoo, rinse and shower gel
Review 25:Wi-fi was not stable.
Review 26:An enjoyable 5-night stay with excellent breakfast for good start of daily excursion. Guesthouse owner, Mr Lim, was very caring and eager to provide any travel information as you requested. .
Review 27:No complaints.
Review 28:The owner and staff were very friendly and even arranged for me to drink makgeolli with other solo travelers. The bathrooms and beds were very clean. I especially loved the heated blanket. Location was perfect for the bibimbap festival. Plus, he serves very good coffee!
Review 29:The staff really tells the story of this place. They do everything to make you feel at home, understand the culture and enjoy the most of your trip. Wanted to go to Korean traditional music and owner immediately came up with great idea we would to a recommended place with the whole crew and guests. And thats just one example. Also really good atmosphere to meet new people.
Review 30:Good location, only 7 minutes by walk to the Hanok village. Very freshand modern, great breakfast even with dumplings! The staff there wasreally amazing, gave some great tips and even followed me to a hanjifactory. Well recommended!
Review 31:Nearest Guesthouse is not far from Hanok Village but have a reasonabledistance to escape from crowd. It is also close to Shopping mall"Home Plus"We stayed 4 bunk bed dormitory with modern Korean style. We got a good sleep there. Washroom is clean and well-facilities. Guesthouse's host is very friendly and informative. He even checked the timetable on internet for us. ;) Bonus: served breakfast like as buffet. Highly recommended!!!
Review 32:Shower room is a little bit small but it is ok for me
Review 33:Nice and talkative owner, he talked to me a lot when I checked in Breakfast variety, with fruits and some warm food
Review 34:the guesthouse is very centrally located, it takes only 10 mins by to Hanok Village. many shops and restaurants nearby, it is a very convenient area! Nearest House is just established for one year therefore everything is new. the rooms are clean and only 4 beds per each, thus the number of guests is limited to 16. the Host is super nice. The day on which I arrived was their 1st anniversary. We enjoyed a small live concert and food in the guesthouse. the guests and neighbors are gathered together to celebrate this event just like a family. this is the best guesthouse that i have ever stayed! i really appreciate it! hope to come back day!

The big plus he organize meetings between the customers wich end up going out to restaurant for a drink. Everythng is clean and net. The decoration give a good atmosphere to the guesthouse. The breakfast is really good. Best stay in korea!
Review 51:Everything is Perfect!
Review 52:Lin is so nice and friendly,I am so sorry I didn't say goodbye to you.Thank you so much!Next time I will come Nearest again.
Review 53:My stay was for 5 nights, May 2014. Mr Lim is a perfect host - helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, good English. The location is very good - close to the Hanok village, restaurants, market. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean with just 4x4 bunk rooms, lounge-kitchen and mezzanine with TV.
Review 54:Nice facilities which gave a cosy home atmosphere. Owner was very kind and informative. He organised fellow travellers to get together for meals and drinks. Breakfast was very nice too.
Review 55:I came to Jeonju via train, so guesthouse location from Jeonju Stationis a bit far - Hv to take taxi since I have luggage, approx 15 mins. This is not a major problem for me as Mr Lim is able to guide the taxidriver to find the place.
Review 56:Stayed 2 nights - all perfect. The owner Mr Lim is extremely nice, helpful & knowledgeable. He even help to search info for my day tripto Jinan & speaks fluent English, which I'm very thankful.I'll come back next year winter jan 2015 - Till we meet again ;)
Review 57:The place might be difficult to find, as there's only a small sign. This is the case when you better believe the map on booking.com and follow it precisely. As I mentioned, it's a small hostel, so it's wiser to book in advance. As the place will get more popular it sure will be full most of the time.
Review 58:Stayed there during the Korean Saga. One of the best stays I had in a long time. Usually when there's a rating of 9 and more there's something strange going on, but this is an example when 9.8 (at the time when this review was written) is actually a precise rating. The location is good, it's in the walking distance to all central city sights and close to the bus stop that has buses to the train station. And you can easily walk from the train station if you want to. It's a small hostel and it opened quite recently. The most important part, the atmosphere there is incredible. The place even somehow reminds me of Serenity spaceship. The owner is really hospitable, has a lot of stories and speaks English brilliantly. I wouldn't mind coming to Jeonju just to stay in the place.
Review 59:it take some time to found the guesthouse
Review 60:I have booked a bed in a 4-girl-room. The design of the room is good that there is a block on the bed that allow you to place the belonging on it even the room is a little bit small. the breakfast provided is not only bread and coffee by also fruit, cereal, eggs.... that it is really impressive. The boss is nice and kind and speak english really well.
Review 61:Owner very nice and helpful, good English..dormitory very comfortable, bathroom very clean and full fornitures! Amazing breakfast..one of the best guesthouse We've never been !! :)
