Reviews for Villa Green
Review 1:What a wonderful place. Very clean. A kitchen where you can make coffee at any hour. TV (although I didn't watch any so I can't attest to the channel selection). Great shower. And the owner is just the best. I walked from the train station in a blizzard and came in covered in about three inches of snow, and she was quick to get me inside and get me warm. I came from Kiev, and I only had Gryvnyas at the time, because I forgot they don't take cards and the exchange rate in Poland for Gryvnyas is criminal. (NO, seriously. Criminal. If you're coming from the Ukraine, change your money before crossing into Poland.) I fully expected to be sent back out into the snow to find an ATM, but she let me pay her the next day, which was just great. Gave me directions and told me which bus to hop on. Loved it there.
Review 2:It was a great place to stay, very clean and with a big room and the lady that owns the place is super friendly. Location is very close to the city of Auschwitz center, and very close to the museum also (5 min drive)
Review 3:There are no stairs so we had to climb 4 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases to our room which was one of 2 rooms on the top floor
Review 4:The manager let us use her private lounge and shower etc as we had to wait until 11.30 at night to catch our train to Vienna, this was very much appreciated and it cost 20 zloyt
Review 5:Maybe the park places in the house garden is small for bigger cars, but there is many free places in the street.
Review 6:The place is awesome and very quiet! There is nice view on trees from the balcony. Room and whole house was very clean, breakfast was delicious, staff was very nice. Totally recommended.
Review 7:Czech Republic and Poland, sort out your wi-fi, please! It didn'twork at this property, and the public network in the town squaredidn't work either.Luckily, I had my next night's accomm. already booked. But that's not always the case. For travellers who often 'make it up as they go along', this constant search for working wi-fi is a real drain on time and energy. So please sort it out! Thank you :-)
Review 8:Everything was as advertised, the bed was really comfortable, and theowner was very friendly and helpful. I was really happy with everythingabout this place except for one detail.
Review 9:Landlady could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was great, and it was a great location. Quiet with the birds singing in the woods, and only a short walk to the old town.
Review 10:no lift for rooms on 1st/2nd floor but not a problem for us 10-15 min walk from town centre
Review 11:location, good clean, practical guest house lovely owner - available 24/7 if needed
Review 12:Villa Green, whilst not luxurious, is perfect as a base for visiting Auschwitz. Only 10 min drive to Auschwitz 1 and walking distance to Oswiecim old town. The rooms are clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and has great wifi access. Access to a shared kitchen with fridge was useful and a gluten free breakfast was provided (cereal) and I think the owner would go out of her way if you requested something specific for breakfast. Would recommend.
Review 13:Someone had lit a fire in the neighborhood just before bedtime and we had smoke in our room. The location might have been more difficult to find except for a kindly university student who spoke excellent English. She kept us on our local transport to the exact stop and led us to our location.
Review 14:We found the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and hot. The accommodations were clean. Great bathroom!
Review 15:Near historic and lovely Old Town centre of Oswiecim. Quiet location near to open ground which was good for our dog. Very friendly owner. Liked being able to use the breakfast area as a kitchenette
Review 16:We stayed for 3 nights and the room was not serviced at all. It would have been nice if the bins had been emptied.
Review 17:A very friendly owner who gave us advise, directions and a selection of local tourist information. Because Auschwitz is only approximately 4 km away and we had a car we were able to be at the museum before the crowds of tour buses started turning up from Kracow. NOTE: If you only wish to wander by yourself and don't wish to book an organised tour, entry is free before 10 am. After 10, you can only enter with a registered tour guide.
Review 18:Villa Green is everything you'd hope for as a base for historical adventures nearby Oswiecim: it's warm, simple, comfortable, nurturing. You might need a cab to know the way if it's your first time there, but it's extremely near the old town centre that you wouldn't miss it after a ride. Urshula will wait for youto give you directions and useful tips and she personally prepares the fresh ample breakfast. Loved the place! Thumbs up!
Review 19:Nothing. All great
Review 20:Rooms were clean with great shower and WiFi. Owner was very helpful and friendly. The villa is close to the old town and not far from Auschwitz and Birkenhau. Couldn't fault the place and would certainly use again
Review 21:Nothing, it was all good
Review 22:What a fantastic place to stay, nothing was to much trouble, the shower in the rooms are great, rooms spotless, the communal break out area was also spotless, in all a great place to stay.
Review 23:Frankly, I have no complaints. The place is comfortable, clean and it has been - at least it seems - recently renovated. Breakfast is abundant. Well, it's more a lunch than a breakfast. ;) I warmly suggest you to stay here, should you think of visit Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Review 24:Very helpful owner, gave us a map of area, we had wifi password, we could help ourself to tea, coffee from kitchen. The owner also organised us a taxi to ensure we managed to get our train back to Warsaw.
Review 25:Need to take a taxi to get to this hotel from the train station and to get to the museum from here, although the taxi is quite cheap, 12-15 PLN.
Review 26:Oświęcim is a nice city with beautiful nature. Walking along the river in the morning was really nice.
Review 27:Neighbours were initially a bit noisy but they soon settled down well before night-time so not a problem really. Parking may be a problem as only four parking spaces are available inside the enclosed area.
Review 28:My teenager liked: "astounding quality of rooms, breakfast well catered for, good location". I would add to that: a very helpful and accommodating landlady, good facilities and... Polish fudge ("Krówki")
Review 29:We loved the friendly welcome, the spacious room [with sofa in seating area], great WiFi, ability to make a cup of tea/coffee, proximity to centre of village and also to Auschwitz Museum. It was a great decision to stay here for the night!
Review 30:free parking, big and clean room, nice and helpful staff, kitchen are accesible for guest with free tea and coffee
Review 31:Excellent value for quality ratio. Very helpful and sincere owner.
Review 32:Friendly and good service
Review 33:Nice clean room. We got deluxe in the same price as average. 10 minutes by walk to old town.
Review 34:Nothing....
Review 35:Rooms were very clean and tidy, good heating, good size ...... Good kitchen with access to tea coffee etc any time day or night .....
Review 36:The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with access to a common room with tea and coffee, also glasses for our wine.
Review 37:Perfect location in a quiet place, very friendly and helpful owner
Review 38:Quiet location and well blacked out. Owner ordered taxi. Access to small kitchen and pleasant eateries just a short walk away.
Review 39:poor lights in the room, few towels
Review 40:Friendliness of caretaker
Review 41:Wonderful, helpful owner, great location can walk to everything
Review 42:Pleasant, quiet, secluded location, detached property, plenty of parking

Review 48:Friendly staff, clean and tidy, parking on site
Review 49:nothing
Review 50:Location, very confortable, home feeling, quiet, ability to relax,
Review 51:Friendly and helpfull owner close to the city center clean
Review 52:Room was clean and bed comfortable
Review 53:The owner and sole employee of this pension is such a sweet lady, she even stayed overnight so we could check in at 4am due to our train!
Review 54:More like a pension than a hotel. No services or on sight staff.
Review 55:Room was clean and comfortable. The caretaker was very kind.
Review 56:No English language TV
Review 57:The wonderful friendly owner. the cleanliness and comfort. Very fast WIFI
Review 58:The owner even did my laundry. Extremely good service!
Review 59:I love this villa, excellent.
Review 60:My first impressions of villa green were excellent and they never changed throughout my 2 day stay here. the room and bathroom were spotless, the hostess was warm, friendly and very helpful. The square is only a few short minutes away and i walked to Auschwitz 1 in 40 minutes. I have no problem in recommending the villa green to anybody.
Review 61:Just be careful with the gps; as it put me 20 minutes away at a locationcalled (Aleja Fryderyka Chopina St, in Zator), that is not the streetthat you want. Villa Green is right near centrum Oswiecim). Call her andask for the name of the main street.
Review 62:The host was great; I was a little late and found her waiting for me.She made me feel especially welcome, and said I could have 24/7access to the kitchen. Located in a residential neighborhood (which iswhat I wanted), but close enough to everything!!
Review 63:The water pressure in the shower was a bit strange. That really is the only complaint I can think of.
Review 64:The room was quite cozy, and the wi-fi was great. Breakfast was great for the price, and the management was very accomodating
Review 65:Nothing I can really think of to dislike, though it is a few blocks to the centre of town. Our goal, though, was to visit Auschwitz.
Review 66:Excellent, private facilities. The staff was helpful. Easy and inexpensive to take a taxi to Auschwitz site and train station.
Review 67:Could not fnd any news or uk tv channels.
Review 68:The owner was prepared to make breakfast as and when required. She even collected us from the station when we said we may be late to check In coz no cabs about.
Review 69:The comfort of the bathroom A nongritical maintenance issue with the bathroom
Review 70:The warm attitude of the owner Personal attention Delicious Breakfasts Good Location and comfortable parking Great value for the cost This was my second stay in this hotel and it will me my choice for my next visit
Review 71:Absolutely flawless!
Review 72:A whopping 10!!! The villa was 4+ stars all the way including the help we got from the manager and her local mechanic friend. Hotel bookings just don't come out any better than this.
Review 73:Guests should first understand that this is a true guest house, not ahotel. Our host, Mrs. Mlost, was very gracious. She waited for our latearrival, recommended a perfect restaurant for dinner, called a cab forus, and then was back the next morning to prepare our breakfast. Thenshe made a special accommodation to hold our luggage while we visitedAuschwitz museum and historical site. The room was completelycomfortable. The location is good, in that it is a residentialneighborhood, not a tourist district, but it is fine if you have a caror will use taxi service.
Review 74:Everything was good just one little thing-would be good to have at least small esspresso machine. Instant coffee is not the best idea, specially that a lot of italians, french visit this hotel, for whom good morning coffee is crucial item. This is just a suggestion
Review 75:No coffee maker available to guests who didn´t opt for breakfast, thusrendering the communal kitchen useless to us. Despite having a complexcable system, there aren´t any T.V. channels in English (usually notneeded but the town is unexciting after dark).
Review 76:Hard-working Ursula is very helpful and genuine, payment in Eurosaccepted, thoughtful attention to decoration/detail, new rooms andbathroom, balcony overlooking quiet neighborhood, proximity to bus forAuschwitz (10 min. On foot)***be sure to enter Auschwitz by 10:00 (free)so you´re not obliged to be herded around the solemn camp in a group(plus you must pay after 10am). I would definitely return to thislovely, peaceful accommodation.
Review 77:Very hard beds. Walls a little thin if you have loud neighbors.
Review 78:Friendly host. Good breakfast for 15 PLN (~$5) - meats, cheeses, fresh cooked eggs, tea, bread. Walkable to town square for restaurants. Easy drive to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Clean, quiet, free parking. Overall good value.
Review 79:Lighting in room was a bit dim.
Review 80:Ursula runs a lovely apartment in a residential area. It has allthe basic necessities and a nice European breakfast. You cannotbeat the price.
Review 81:It is on the budget end for facilities, but it was a better value than a Red Roof Inn in the states
Review 82:Ursula was great, made us a great breakfast, a wonderful hostess
Review 83:curtains didnt close
Review 84:cleanliness friendliness and accomodating staff great breakfast nicely decorated rooms great shower free wifi free tv free bottle of water what can I say, it is the perfect short stay hotel ever! Great service! Absolutely loved it. The three of us, one single room and one double room, had a wonderful stay and some hotels could take example for they dont provide the level of service this place did!
Review 85:The shower was too hot to shower comfortably, but it wasn't too big of a problem.
Review 86:The lady is really friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was clean, had a fan (which was very nice as it was 37C), and was situated somewhere quiet. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade omelette on toast! The location is good. The central square is a five minute walk away, Auschwitz I and II are close by as well.
Review 87:Lots of mosquitos during our visit ( not the fault of the hotel - but beware and take plenty of repellant with you if travelling in Summer months !)
Review 88:This is a small but very friendly hotel in a mainly residential area, the lady who owns it is really helpful and nice. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The hotel is a 10 min walk to shops and restaurants and just a short drive to Auschwitz Museum.
Review 89:We could not set the water temperature at the shower, it was very hot.
Review 90:The landlord lady was very friendly. Access to a big kitchen. Parking lot. Free wi-fi.
Review 91:The fact that I could not stay longer.
Review 92:The owner went way out of her way to accomodate my every need. The breakfast was exceptional. I can't wait to go back!
Review 93:Nothing!
Review 94:Ursula was fantastic! Checked us in at 5:30 am and offered to make breakfast! Called us a cab to Auschwitz and was a wonderful hostess. I travelled here from the US with my mom (i am 32, mom 59) and we would recommend it to anyone! Peaceful!
Review 95:very nice lady owner (anna?0 i am terrible with names. very very nice stay, spotless, friendly, helpful. location ws a little out, but taxi to Auschwitz was about 4 ponds! so no harm done..
Review 96:On the windows should be mosquito net.
Review 97:The houselady was really friendly. The room clean and funtion. The hotelis located at a quiet part of the town.
Review 98:The bed was extremely hard and I didn't sleep very well, but as I was only there for 2 nights, it was ok and I really can't complain too much considering the price.
Review 99:Excellent value. I had a single room with en suite bathroom - all of which was immaculately clean. The staff were very friendly and the location was perfect for my trip to the Auschwitz camps. There was free wifi and parking (I had rented a car).
Review 100:Difficult to communicate with the manager. She speaks Polish and very little English and no German.Make sure you have GPS to find anything in town or Auschwitz.
Review 101:Great Value for a fine room and use of the communal kitchen. Make sure you have a GPS to find this place. The manger is a very nice lady and patient. She wanted to communicate in Polish and limited English. There are many inexpensive places to shop such as Aldis, Kaufhaus and Tesco very close to the Hotel. GPS is absolutely necessary.
Review 102:Easy access to Auschwitz and Birkenau. The walls were a bit thin though luckily I don't think anyone else was staying there otherwise our baby may have woken them up.
Review 103:The breakfasts were delicious and the owner was lovely, driving us places we needed to go and giving us all the information we needed about public transport, the best places to eat and shop, and where to get value for money. She was very friendly and made our stay a pleasure.
Review 104:Staff was very friendly. She offered great dinner recommendation. We had an infant and she was very sweet and understanding. Comfortable and clean room. Great value.
Review 105:Location in Oswiecim was a little out of the way. There is not much there, a few restaurants and we couldn't find any bars so ended up in a hotel bar, which was nice.
Review 106:The staff were lovely. My partner had asked for flowers and wine in our room and they were lovely. The owner was extremely friendly, English was patchy but that was ok. Facilities were great, extremely clean and very new looking. Trendy styling. Breakfast was amazing. Shower was very very good. Cheap place to stay and eat.
Review 107:- Other visitors were either very noisy or insulation is not great, but it did not spoil it for me- with very very limited Polish, it was sometimes not so easy to communicate with the host; as the host was very friendly, it would have been great to chat to her a bit more. But then again, I/we could have learned a bit more Polish.
Review 108:- Very clean and modern accommodation.- Very good location for us as we were visiting Auschwitz and Birkenau camps - Very friendly host - Very good breakfast - Very quiet location (surroundings)
Review 109:Great food. Location and wonderful host. It was a true pleasure to stay at this excellent hotel.
Review 110:The owner was very welcoming - spoke good English.
Review 111:We had a very pleasant stay in Villa Green. The hostess was very friendly. We recommend Villa Green to everyone who is reading this opinion.
Review 112:Room and bathroom was spotless, and felt new. Owner is a really nice lady And knowledgeable about how to get around town and to Krakow
Review 113:Good location, very friendly onwer, delicious breakfast, modern and clean accomodation. Super!!!!
